i am on firmware 3.1.2(7D11) and am running itunes on version 9.0.2.25
i recently started having the issue of having different languages show in the preview from the message itself in my emails. i occasionally have email sent to me in korean. sometimes, korean will show up in the email preview while the body is in chinese. when i check the same email from my computer, it is in korean. other times, the preview will show chinese when the email is written in korean.
so basically, my problem is that my email preview and the email itself are not in sync sometimes.
another issue with email i am having, this may or may not be relevant to the issue i stated earlier, but when i open my email app, except for the time, reception signal, battery at the top, the screen just goes black.
has/does anybody else had/have this issue as well?

their emails are coming in and only the left side of the page is viewable. it's really strange. so... just wanted to bring that bug to your attention.

Is this an HTML site your viewing in Safari? or is this using the Mail Application?
Both of which I am referring to as being on the iPhone. Might be some troubleshooting steps we can have you perform that could resolve the issue.

Calendar Meeting Request Accepted Email bug

I have come across a possible bug with the BlackBerry Calendar feature. When I invited an attendee who has a BlackBerry Curve 8520 to a meeting with a reminder time of '0 min' with my BlackBerry Bold 9780 whilst holding both phones in my hand and accepting the meeting request on the Curve, the email that was sent back to my Bold indicated a reminder time of 'None'.
When I checked the reminder time on the Curve after this, it was set to '0 min.
Is this how meeting request approvals are supposed to be sent, indicating a reminder time of 'None' when the reminder time is set as '0 min'?

Calendar management in Nokia E7 is a pathetic.. You can't select the receipent when creating an invite and you can't see the meeting attendee list of an existing calendar entry in your phone..
Overall, I liked the phone, but this particular function has spoiled my impression about it.

IMAP email bug - help required to resolve

I am trying to set up IMAP on my new HP Touchpad. The problem is, my touchpad won't download any emails.
After creating an account, the touchpad is able to recognise the folder structure of my email account, and I can send messages. However, my inbox and all other folders appear empty. These folders are definitely populated with thousands of emails, and I have no problem accessing them with IMAP on my Ipod Touch or through my computer. The touchpad must be successfully linked in to both the IMAP and SMTP servers (since I get my folder structure, and can send messages). However, no matter how many times I try to refresh the inbox, the touchpad won't download a single email.
I have tried reinstalling the accounts and a complete reset of the ipad but no joy. I get no error messages of any kind - just empty folders.
I have created a log file after recreating the problem. Let me know if this is useful.

Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately this hasn't resolved the issue.
Default folders were already assigned for my account. I tried assigning different ones, or unassigning but this didn't make any difference.
I'm pretty sure my email provider doesn't require a root folder. There's no mention of it in their help topics, and I've never assigned one in the past when I set up email on my Ipod Touch. This is what they say about setting up IMAP

"SMTP requires authentication" should be ticked.

"Use Secure Authentication": tick if secure connection is set to "never" and untick if secure connection is set to "SSL"
I feel like this must be a bug with the way the email app is trying to communicate with their IMAP server, but I really need to iron it out!

Path errors in email BUG

PHP - On the Password Reminder email (forgot.html) the path to login.php (kt_login_page) is resolving incorrectly. (It's leaving out the subdirectory). If I change it through the dialog boxes to work with this page, then it breaks in the other pages that use kt_login_page.
Is this a bug? Is there any option besides hardcodong the URL in forgot.html?

I think I had a similar problem when first using the InterAKT version of the product. In my case, the problem was how the login and redirect pages were set in the Control Panel. Successful and unsuccessful logins are set there and may take priority over any redirects you're setting for an individual page.

N8 doesn't sync deleted emails (Bug ?)

I use MfE, GMail and Other providers on my nokia N8. (Yes, 3 accounts)
The problem is showing on all 3 accounts : when I delete a mail (or move it out the inbox), it still show up on the Nokia mailbox, until I run a manual sync.
This is really bad, as the homescreen only show the 2 last messages, and I use my PC and Webmail to delete/move mails. I rarely move/delete mails from the phone.

I found that for Gmail at least, this is because by default when configuring your mailbox if you "accept the terms" you are actually using nokias own messaging servers (email.nokia.com) instead of directly connecting and using your destination email providers server. So for example I use gmail and when configuring the inbox if I "accept the terms" then the mailbox setup on my device points to email.nokia.com and email.nokia.com syncs mail from gmail (using my mail id and password) and then my phone syncs mail from email.nokia.com, instead of syncing directly with gmail. All this means when I delete mail from gmail, email.nokia.com does not sync (bug?) that and therefore my phone does not delete the mail.
The way you can directly sync with gmail is to "reject the terms" when configuring a new mailbox then it will configure a direct sync with your mail provider because by rejecting the terms, you have chosen to refuse to use email.nokia.com. The options available under settings will be different for a directly synced mailbox. You will be able to define advanced server settings like "incoming mail server" etc.
Also for IMAP you will be able to select which folders are synced... in case of gmail for an indirect sync account The "All mail" folder is not visible (because it is not present on email.nokia.com) but if you have a direct sync account you will be able to select it and also any custom tags you have defined in gmail.

Mailto email bug - outlook

I have a strange bug when trying to use a mailto link with
outlook from an air app.
It opens the outlook window ... but its as through there are
two overlapping each other and the top one seems buggy.
I've put together the most basic air app i could with a
single button and the following code:

How do I fix my IMAP email bug?

I just tried to switch my email accounts from POP to IMAP. I created new IMAP accounts and then deactivated the POP accounts (this may have been the wrong order to do this in). Mail is now confused and deleting all of my email. If I send an email to the IMAP account, it will appear there, but as soon as I select it, it disappears. It also disappears if I refresh it with Get Mail. I checked the server with webmail and the emails are getting deleted there as well. Based on what I have seen elsewhere, I believe this may be a problem with the UID getting assigned to each message getting confused due to the pre-existing POP account. Does anyone know how to get Mail to simply forget these accounts and let me start from scratch? I have tried deleting all the accounts and restarting Mail, but I continue to see the problem. I am getting the mail at multiple computers, which is why I'm switching to IMAP. Do I have to reset the accounts on all these machines? Thanks.

How to create graphic clickable email bugs in signature?

I would love to create clickable icons on the bottom of my work emails for Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.
What is the best way to go about this? Do I write the raw html code, including clickable areas and then drop it in the signature sub directory? Is there an easier way?

You can always take a screen shot of the video, add a play button (which really wouldn't be an actual play button) and link the image to your HTML page where the video is located.

DELETE EMAIL BUG

I constantly have Mail freeze when deleting emails. This then results in having to redelete all emails that were deleted prior to the freeze.
Needless to say this is VERY frustrating. Has anyone else seen this? Is there a fix, is my iPhone discunctional, or are we awaiting a software update to resolve the issue?

Try a hard reset. Hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button down together until the iPhone turns off and boots to an Apple logo. When you see the Apple, let go and it will boot back to the home screen. Test it out again and see if that fixes the issue.
If you haven't yet, update to iPhone software 1.0.1 by connecting the phone to your computer and clicking "Check for Updates" in the iTunes summary page. Choose "Download and Install" and leave the phone connected until its done. Try deleting emails again to see if the issue is fixed.
If that doesn't work, do a Software restore. Connect the phone to your computer and when iTunes opens the Summary page, click on "Restore." This WILL delete all your info, so make sure you sync up everything to the computer first to you can re-sync it after. Let the restore go through (leave your phone connected until its done), then re-sync your data and try again. If that doesn't work, you definitely need to call 1-800-MY-IPHONE (yeah, the "E" is just for fun)

Outgoing email bug when you have two accounts each with an SMTP.

I have two email accounts on iPhone and each has a different outgoing SMTP server associated it the account. One is SBC the other is my domain ISP. (Sometimes I like to send out of SBC but when it gets slow I can sent out of my domain.)
Here is the thing. Each account has a "from" email address THE SAME (i.e. [email protected]).
Now get this No matter which account I send out of, the mail ALWAYS go through the SMPT server of the FIRST account in the account list. HOWEVER, if I change one of the "from" email addresses to something different than the other (ie. [email protected]) the mail will go out of the correct SMTP server.
What is THAT all about? It looks like iPhone is looking to use the return address as a factor in determining what SMTP to use. It SHOULD use the SMTP of the account mail is SENT from... but it doesn't... if the return addresses are the same.

You will need to contact iTunes Store support and you will lose access to any purchased content from that account. You may wish to consider just asking to disable the account or how to better manage multiple accounts.

Anyone ever solve disappearing email bug

Not sure if anyone else is noticing this but the disappearing only happens to me when I open mail app and quick view an email before the app finishes updating. It then vanishes while I'm reading the message once the iPhone completes its "push" update of the server emails.
I searched so forgive me if this was resolved already.

Email provider is Yahoo.
I dont have a limit on number of emails. Emails were only days old and besides, months old emails remained untouched and intact. A quick search reveals this happening to others long before but I see no solution, explanation, or response from Apple. As a matter of fact I see no discovery on how it happens until now. I encourage you to try it, with an email you can afford to lose of course. It's not so much my inbox but other boxes I have set up to store emails I don't want kept in inbox.
If I move an email from inbox to that custom mailbox, then back out to go to that particular custom mailbox, while its updating I view an old email that was already in the box, that old email will be kicked out once the mailbox finishes its download of "newly added" messages or updates itself. Again, no limit on number of messages per box.

Two email bugs that require Apple's attention

I am converting over from a Blackberry that I use to check my POP email account hosted by my ISP. Here are the two major problems I've encountered so far with receiving emails on my iPhone:
1) If an attachment (.doc .xls .pdf) is attached to an email written in MS Outlook and the body is formated as HTML or Rich Text, the attachment won't open on the iPhone. If sent with the body formatted as Plain text or if sent from Yahoo or Mac Mail, it opens fine. This is a major problem for me since I work with 100's of clients that live in the Wintel universe, and they aren't going to change their email formatting for my convenience...
2) I am having trouble doing a Receive from my MS Outlook 2003 to check my POP email account, it keeps returning an error saying "Your mailbox is temporarily unavailable because another mail application is accessing it." If I power down the iPhone, Send/Receive works fine. That workaround pretty much negates the value of having a cell phone, since I can't receive cell calls if the iPhone is powered down so that I can get emails on my PC while sitting in my office.
Anyone else having these problems??? How about we all call them in to Apple Support, I have to believe this should be able to be fixed with a software update, vs. many of the petty gripes that I'm seeing on this forum.

TS3276 multiple email bug

When I try to edit multiple addresses in CC or BCC fields, Mail inserts a random address (usually one that I used recently on another email) many many times! The random one gets interspersed every 3 addresses so sometimes I end up with 20 extra addresses that I didn't put in! It's a mess.
Does anyone else have this? What do I do?

Having huge problems with my E75 this evening. Opened a email this afternoon and ever since my phone has been flashing and generally going nuts...I can make calls with extreme difficulty but nothing else seems to work. I have turned off several times hoping this would work to to no available.
Hoping you have some other suggestions. At this stage to scared to plug into computer to check if updates could fix.....

after repairof keyboard, E75/ FW 210.12.15 was installed. I've not only problems connecting to my home WIFI network for checking mail (MAC filtered and with WEP key), I also can't connect to Internet thru this WIFI network. Checked with another open WIFI network and did not succeed either.
I've indeed noticed changing some settings were not stored.
Aonther thread mentions FAT of memory card corrupted, letting E75 reboot spontanuously. Formatted my microSD card. Still rebooting unexpectedly.
I find it strange this version is not on official Nokia support site.
Hope we can find solution.
