Email changes on iPad via IMAP are not updating on Exchange Server

I have set up IMAP access to my company email from the iPad. Reason being so that I can manage emails (delete, move to folders etc) whilst working off-line.
Seemed to work fine for a day or so but now any changes made via the iPad are not syncing and updating the Exchange Server once back on-line.
Any hints?

I see. okay, well, on my iphone with iOS 3.x I always saw similar issues. I had email on 2 Exchange servers, so one of the accounts had to be IMAP, and it never worked properly.
Yes, it would mark emails as being read, etc, but anytime I moved or deleted an email, it would do so, but would also keep a copy on the original mailbox it was in. Basically the IMAP "Expunge" command wasn't properly being sent by the iPhone
I submitted this as a bug to Apple via bugreporter.apple.com and they confirmed it. Whether it's fixed or not in iOS 4 I don't know as iOS 4 has the ability to use multiple Exchange accounts so I no longer need the IMAP.

  • Changes to BI web templates are not updated

    Hello BI Experts,
    I need to find a way to advise my portal resource on how to resolve a problem we are experiencing.
    When we make a change to a web template, the changes are not updated and it appears that the old version is cached.  The only way we can get the new template to show is to bounce EP.
    Does anyone have suggestions where we can find the appropriate global settings to set the cache so that EP will retrieve new BI content as it is modified?

    Hi Tom,
    If there is some incorrect setting in the portal, the WAD templates does not get saved after the first Save action.
    I am not sure of the setting which needs to be done. But I can provide you an alternate solution. If there is no other issue than the templates not getting saved, you can use this.
    You can save your changed template using 'Save As' in a different name and then you can delete the original template. Afterwards, you can save this template with the actual name.
    I hope this would solve your problem.

    Really hoped iOS4 would fix this, but no. This really is the most useless tool for a regular business traveller. Not being able to catch up on email and sort, delete, reply etc on short haul European flights is in-excusable for a 2010 business tool Apple!

    Yes thanks Graham.
    It is a big oversight in my mind and one which makes me carry a laptop most times, somewhat negating the need for the iPad. Thus actually adding a business tool I need to carry, rather than reduce in size and weight etc. I real shame for me and one which actually makes the iPad almost redundant most of the time.
    I know having searched these forums and speaking with colleagues etc, it is a common feeling and one which Apple should address asap in my mind.

  • IOS 7 - my emails are not updating to the server

    Hi all
    I got an iPhone 5C with iOS 7.
    I have set it up as a new phone, and set up my hotmail account on Mail. I can refresh my emails and new emails will push to my mailbox no problem.
    However - when I read or delete one of these, it doesn't seem to update that to the server. So if I log on to Hotmail on my iPad or laptop, the emails are still in the inbox and appear as unread, even when I have sent to Trash, and then emptied the trash on my iPhone 5C!
    Also, if I read an email first on the laptop, it still pushes it to my phone as a new unread email!
    I have made sure I've emptied the trash by the way!
    Any suggestions?

    Go to: Settings>Mai.....>the account(s) in question>Advanced>and change the Deleted from server setting to what you want (never?)

    Meaning if I have read or deleted an email on another device its still showing as new on my macbook . How can I set it up so it updates on my macbook?

    Are you wanting your assistant to read/respond to your emails? or just be able to send?
    If just sending, have them append your email address to the 'Email Address' field in Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts -> (mail account).
    For example, if their email address is currently '[email protected]', they can change it to '[email protected], [email protected]', then they can choose which address to send a message from when they create new messages.
    If you want them to read and reply to your messages then just add an additional IMAP account in Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts. You'll need to complete your server username and password, of course, then they'll have full access to your mailbox and can read/delete/reply just as you can.

    Have you checked your Apple Store and iTunes settings (Settings > iTunes & App Stores)? Make sure that "Automatic Downloads" for Music, Apps, Books are turned on.

    have set up on 3 computers: 2 macs and 1 pc. was working perfectly before updating to new firefox. have updated all 3 browsers and linked to new sync account. now... nothing. the logs confirm a sync has happened - but nothing actually syncs. very frustrating!

    Thank you for your question. I understand that a new sync account was set up and there are no signs of merging data on the three computers.
    *First try to disconnect the account and log in each computer a fresh.
    *Click Tools > Sync Now on each of the computers
    *Make sure that each device is signed up on the newer version of sync by visiting accounts.firefox.com

    How did you put the photos on yhour iPhone?  Did you take them with the iPhone? If so and you have PS enabled on the iPhone they will be added to the PS on your iPad (as long as it's enabled also)

    Hey rbrylawski, just wanted to let you know that my ipad email problems have been solved. Called Apple Sup in OZ, I'm in NZ. Daniel Barber was the support tech from heaven!! I was about to return the ipad but solving this issue reset my faith in phone support.....perhaps until I call a differnet companys phone support eh? Anyhow, for reference the fix is below.  My accounts are all POP not IMAP, and the primary smtp server setting had defaulted to have SSL switched on and the port was set to 5XX (something, cant remember). Anyhow, SSL was switched off and the port was swithced to 25. VOILÀ!!  Settings/Mail, contacts, calendars/My POP mail account/smtp/primary server/ >>> server on, no username and password,  use SSL off,  no authentication,  Server Port 25  Thanks for having a crack at it.     If you are having issues turning on Always Allow for cookies in Safari on your iPad, you may want to check to make sure that you don't have Private Browsing enabled, as noted in the following article:

  • My changes to a duplicated page are not syncing up in the Creative Cloud. How can I fix this?

    I'm using Adobe Proto on an iPad. I created one page and successfully viewed it in the Creative Cloud. Then I duplicated that 1st page so I could work on the next page in that project. I made some changes to the 2nd page and then synced the project with the Creative Cloud again.
    Once I try to view the 2nd page in the Creative Cloud, it's still an exact copy of the 1st page. In other words, my changes on the 2nd page don't show up. I've tried synching the project many times and I get the same result. Tried opening the project from another browser, same result.
    My changes to a duplicated page are not syncing up in the Creative Cloud. How can I fix this?

    Yes, I'm 99% certain the project is being synced. If I duplicate more than the one page so that I end up with more than 2 pages, I still see every single page that I duplicated and made changes as the initial version of the page.
    I duplicated that 1st page again so that I have 3 pages. I made changes to the 3rd one and I'm still not seeing those changes when I look at the page in Creative Cloud. I see the new, 3rd page, so that should mean the project is being synced, correct?

    You have a couple of options to get them in your photo stream:
    Open the photos one at a time and take a screenshot.  This will add a new low resolution copy of the photo to the camera roll, which will then upload to your photo stream;
    Email the photos a few at a time to yourself, then save the attached photos to your camera roll.  This will add a copy of the photo at full resolution to your camera roll and upload to photo stream;
    Use an app like PhotoSync, which will allow you to wirelessly transfer copies of all your old photos to your computer all at once.  Then delete these photos from your camera roll and use PhotoSync to transfer them back from your computer to your camera roll.  These will be the original resolution and will upload to your photo stream.  (You need an app like this because iTunes will not transfer photos back to your camera roll, where they must be in order to add to your photo stream.)
    Or, you can add them to a shared stream and invite yourself as a subscriber (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99).  The shared stream will appear on your iPad and you can either leave things this way, or save them to the camera roll on your iPad and delete the shared stream.  They won't be in your photo stream but they will at least be on your iPad.
