Email default folder
When I click on Messages, the default folder is Sent Mail.
How do I change the default folder to my Inbox?
Thank you.

I was readding your post in regards to the message defaulting to email inbox instead of defaulting to SMS messages inbox. How do I switch the default of my message icon so that when I open it up from my home screen it shows my SMS messages and not emails. I already have an icon on my home screen that shows me the emails. I do not need it in too places.
You can't. The only way is to have the SMS icon displayed on your Home Screen.

Hello,
Office 2010 32bit, VBA
Is it possible to programmatically do the above while Outlook is running? If so, I'm hoping to make that change from a Word macro.
I tried tinkering with the reg key and that doesn't work because it appears Outlook only respects it at startup time. Similary changing Word File-options-location of documents is respected only when Outlook starts.
I'm looking to seamlessly keep Outlook's default folder in sync with Word's default folder as the users change working folders in Word, which they do many times per day (and they chose the folder among a couple of thousand possibilities).
I'm hoping there is a difficult-to-find Outlook object I can manipuate to get to the end result. IF there is such an Object I have been unable to find it.
Many thanks!
JulieHi Julie,
Based on my research, I think outlook object model doesn’t provide the way to change the default folder for insert attachment and save email/attachment.
The way to change it is that we need to modify the registry setting and the outlook app should be restart.

You may create the add-in to custom these actions (e.g. attach attachment, save email)

When saving a PDF attachment to an email, I want to change the default folder. How do I do that?
Hi brs texas,
Do I understand correctly that you're downloading a PDF that you received in an email? The default save location is a function of the email client, not of Acrobat or the PDF, so steps to change that folder would vary by email client. Please check the documentation for your email.

FileXtra4 problem - default folder doesn't work.
Don't know why this doesn't work, but the default folder
setting in the
FileXtra open/save dialogues doesn't seem to work as
advertised. My code
goes like so:
currentLevel = fxObj.fx_FileOpenDialog(the moviePath &
"\Levels\","*.lvl","Load Level",False,True)
the moviePath & "\Levels\"
should be the correct folder, but instead, it always defaults
to My
Documents for some reason. (When running as a projector. In
Authoring
mode, it defaults to the moviePath, but ignores my
sub-folder.) Either way,
it never gets it right the first time. The second time and
subsequent
times, it always goes to wherever you last opened something,
but the first
time is always wrong. I did notice that the example in their
documentation:
put fxObj.fx_FileOpenDialog("C:\My Documents\", "Text
Files/*.TXT","Choose a
text file", True, True)
does use My Documents as its default, but I've changed that,
so it should be
going to the folder I pointed it at.Without looking too deeply, I think I remember that, yes, it
doesn't work.
I usually end up using BuddyAPI for this.

Groupware synchronization folders Default Folder
7.0 EhP1. running v10.29.07 with all the latest updated SAP notes.
In my Outlook, I have mulitple contact folders & calendars but I do not see them all in Synchronization tab where you set the Appointments, Contacts, Task. Below the Default Folder I see a 2nd choice with my email address, it almost looks like there is more text but the Folder tab can not be made wider.
I'm researching Outlook, and I don't see anything I can set in the properties that makes one calendar different than any other folder.
The FAQ in SAP Help for groupware just says >> Then specify the required Groupware folder.

Managed Default versus Managed Custom Folder, and Default Folder Type Options
I am looking to create some new managed folders needed for company retention policy.
It seems pretty forward to create the folder:
New-ManagedFolder -Name "[Name Here]" -DefaultFolderType Inbox -Comment "[comments here]" -MustDisplayComment $true
However I have noticed there seems to be two types of folders: Managed Custom and Managed Default. What exactly is the difference.
Also what different default folder type options are there, and what is the different between them?I actually am using retention tags and retention policies for the existing folders (inbox, deleted, junk/spam, conversation history). Which takes care of most of our actual messages.
However most of the space in a users mail box is take by docs scanned to their emails. These docs are almost instantly moved to file servers, and other databases but sit in the mailboxes for ever. So I was hoping to create a default folder and deploy rules
so that all the scanned items are automatically moved to that folder where they can be deleted per a retention policy tag.
I'm not married to this method but it did seem reasonable in terms of not leaving things to the users to sort items, and would love a better way to accomplish it.
The retention policy says we will keep communications for a maximum x years for users excluding certain document types (junk/spam, voice mails, Instant messages, Scanned docs) and any thing older will be automatically removed, the special documents
will have significantly shorted life spans (1 to 8 weeks). -
Change default folder view?
Hi. I was wondering if there was a way to change the default folder view. For instance, I'd like it so that when I create a new folder or open a new window it would be automatically in list view mode, and with the specific columns I want. Is this possible?
From the "view" menu choose "List View" uncheck in Prefs where you may have checked "Open new windows in column view".

I received your emai stating that my photos are safe and are present in the folder on your computer that you specified when importing them. If you used Photoshop Album Starter Edition to import your files from the camera without changing the default folder, look in this folder. I have tried looking in the default folder and there is nothing there to help. Some of these photos were scanned in from my Cannon Printer. Surely if Adobe are requesting me to register and telling me they will send me a code no. that is all that needs to be done.

How to communicate with Adobe office more direct? I do not want to enter into forum. Are you telling me Elements user not qualify for better services from Adobe?
Why you relied to my questions partially only? Selective to questions? Or?????
I repeat my previous questions that you ignored:
How to compare Elements to CS5 or 6?
Can I upgrade from Elements to CS?
Is Elements 13 comes in DVD format?
I'm interested in upgrading my Elements 10 to????
Your advise please?
I'm so sorry, but in today's world, the support of low cost products through personal contact has become very uncommon. It simply does not pay to sell a product for $50 or $100 and then pay people to sit in cubicles to talk on the phone that may cost $50 or $100 an hour.
That said, I'll try to help for free!
CS5, CS5.5 and CS6 are products from the past that, as far as I know are not being updated or maintained. Adobe has replaced them with the "Creative Cloud" or "CC". So, if you want a current version of "Premier CC", you "rent" it for $20 a month. For $50 a month, you can rent everything Adobe makes for photogrphers, videographers, designers and graphic artists.
If "upgrade" means "get a cheaper price", no.
The easiest way to buy the DVD version of Elements 13 is to order it from a major retailer like B&H Photo or Amazon. I've checked and both have it. The cheapest way to buy it is to wait for holiday season pricing. -
Adobe Bridge CS3 Default Folder
How do I change the Adobe Bridge CS3 default folder?
I still had no way to change Open With Default. MAybe I should just upgrade Bridge.
While CS3 is not the best version of Bridge and the changing upgrade policy of Adobe (until december you can upgrade to CS6 with 3 versions back, after that it is only possible to upgrade with one version back
But I still don't understand what you are looking for, in the subject line it states default folder but you want to have open the files in PSCS3?
While that should indeed be the default but if that is not the case with you what does your system as default application?
In Bridge preferences you have also file type associations that give you the option to set default application to open with per file type.
And on your Mac you can select a file type in the Finder and choose 'get info'. In this window you also can set open with and apply to all. -
In the Options menu I changed the default download location (folder) to a folder I have on my desktop and saved the changes. But this option reverts to the default folder when I turn on my computer and open FF the next day.
Thank you for your response.
I do use CCleaner and just ran it. It did not change the download option folder that I had changed from the default so it appears that this is not cause.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again! -
Due to the fact that I misunderstood some of the instructions, my 2 programs are installed in the "users" folder instead of the "applications" folder on my MAC. OS 10.7.4 Is it possible to MOVE/DRAG these applications into the correct default folder(applications)? If so, is there a safe procedure for doing so. I have installed the programs but have not launched them as yet. Any advice would be appreciated.
You should uninstall the software, and then reinstall in the correct folder. Attempts to move the folder will not work, and might mess up the system.
