Email downloaded and marked read

One of my email accounts is downloading emails and marking them as read before I ahve actually read them or am not aware of them. I only know of new emails if I click on the mail icon and review the list of emails. how do i fix this so I am informed when a new email comes in? Of course it is my most important account that is doing this.

I have the same problem, running Web OS 1.1.0. Since I picked up my phone a couple weeks ago I'd awake to find my battery almost compeltely discharged. I was about to return my phone for a Blackberry.
I've verified this is my problem:
1) Set to manual, send an email to my gmail, I get notified of the new mail even though the mail app isn't open and I haven't synchronized it.
2) With the account removed I lose less than 10% batter, previously I'd lose 70% of my battery.
I just really want Palm to acknowedge that they are working on the issue since it is a deal breaker for me. I don't want to give up my Pre, but I NEED more than a day's battery life. Especially since I'm an extremely light voice, text, and data user.

YOu would have to set it up as an IMAP account, which would depend on what email service you are using.

My Ipad has hung up on a book that I downloaded and was reading. I cannot turn the page or exit the book. I can get to my ipad desktop but still cannot close the book.

Quit iBooks and restart the iPad and then try the book again.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Pre email downloaded and notifications received even though disabled

I have access to a computer most days and don't need the auto download to my phone, I simply want to check my email when I am away from a computer. I have turned off the notifications under the email preferences and set the Get Mail option to Manual. Despite this, my Pre is still automatically checking my email and notifying me of new emails. While at a sprint store the tech looked at me phone and said everything was set right. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or know how to fix it?

How do I keep email from being marked read in Outlook before I read them on my computer?

When email downloads to my phone, it automatically shows up as read in Outlook whether I've opened the mail on my phone or not. Verizon says it's an issue with the host mail server and the host mail server says its a setting on the iPhone. Help!

If the account is a Verizon account, unless Verizon supports Exchange or IMAP account access, this has nothing to do with the iPhone, and there is no setting for this with the iPhone's Mail app or with any email client that I'm aware of.

Confirmation send back to sender that email arrived and was read

In outlook one can select option that send emails back to sender to confirm recipient received and then read email sent.
Can this be done in MAIL?

All emails on phone marked read when mail on Mac open

When I open mail on my iMac my iPhone automatically marks ALL email as read. Is this a setting on my phone???

it seems that there is a problem on the download page. I get to the downlod page 1 of 3, then when I depress the dowload button, I get to a new page for Photoshop CC and Lightroom for $9.99 a month and dan not get past this page.

Are you using Firefox, and/or do you have an ad-blocker installed? I was using Firefox and having the same problem as you, but when I went to http://get.adobe.com/reader/ in another browser (Safari), I was able to click through and start the download.
Another forum member also suggested going through this link: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ which, again, only worked for me in Safari.

Is it possible to get Exchange emails downloaded to SharePoint document library using Powershell and or Custom Workflow?

I have been asked to see if it would be possible to get exchange emails downloaded and or sent to a document library .
I know of the sitemail box app. but we are not running Exchange 2013.
and setting up the lists and or document library to receive emails using the built in doesn't seem to be working...( maybe not configured correctly, i would need to see what the prior admin/developer did)
But is there a way to get the emails downloaded to a document library using a workflow and or a powershell script that is triggered via workflow?

Hi,
Since workflow can only work on items in SharePoint sites, they cannot get Exchange emails, let alone download emails to SharePoint library. However, you could manually save email to local and upload it to SharePoint list/library.
I'd suggest you toubleshooting the incoming email settings in SharePoint. Please refer to the article below and check your configuration:

TS3899 Email on iPhone is marked read even though I have not read it.

I have a 4s with iOS 8.1.1. Since the update my email will be marked read, even though I have not read it. At times, I can see the blue dot to the left of the emails go away as I open my folder. Any ideas?

Yes, I went to settings and turned wifi off. Thought at first I wasnt letting it set for a sec or two before shutting the iPad off. so now I wait like a minute or two before shutting the iPad down. didnt seem to help. Tried actually logging out of facebook when I was done with it, worked for about 4 days, and now it has started coming on and coming online again,, I went through my notifications and shut things off, Well see if it works. thank you.

Mail marked read on iPhone 5 automatically. Why?

This is weird. I just updated to iPhone 5 (restored from 4 backup) but this happened on my iPhone 4 too.
Mail comes in - iCloud email. The iPhone makes it's mail recieved sound, but the mail is not displayed becaue the iPhone has marked it as read. And if I open Mail on my iMac (Moutain Lion) - the email is not highlighted but marked as read too. BUT - on my iPad Mini (also new) the email is NOT marked Read and the Mail icon lists 1 new message. And it is also in the Notification center. But the iPhone it is not in Notification Center.
This was happening on my 4 too - but not all email. AND Not always the same email. Sometimes the email that is marked read - comes in normal at times.
If Mail on y iMac is open - these emails come in and are not marked read. So it appears the iPhone (4 & 5) is the culprit.
Any ideas or thoughts?

Hi there I'm having the same issue but only with 1 account,what was the fix?

I have an ipod 4th generation and it has currently got the software version 4.1 and when i try to download and update my ipod to the most recent version and when it's done downloading it just ends with an error saying connection error every time!?

This happens every time and it always happened when it's processing the file and everything else downloads fine like apps etc but this is the only problem i have. I tried things like increasing the amount of space available on my pc but nothing seems to work. Please help me as I've had my ipod for about 8 months now and haven't been able to update a single time

Adobe download and install issue

I was able to download and install Flash without any issues. When I try to download and install Reader I lose connection, then tries to reconnect then tells me to cancel. This happens on XI, X and others versions. I am using windows 7 professional. How can I get Reader to download and install?

Initialize > download > open > run > downloading >
then every time Lost Connection at 50%, reconnecting, cancel...
When I check downloaded files it is there, but when I try to run it as administrator or otherwise it says not a win32 program.

Setting up new email accounts and SSL defaulting to be ON

SSL is defaulted as ON when you set up a new email account on iPad but many ISPs don't use SSL, and when you create a new email account Verification takes FOREVER because iPad can't verify the acccount until you turn SSL OFF. But there's no way to turn it off until iPad tries to verify, with SSL ON, itself.
Finally you'll get an error message that the server doesn't use SSL (DUH) and you get a popup that asks if you want to turn SSL off.
You click YES and the verification got thru instantly which is what should have happened in the first place.
The SSL ON/OFF switch should be on the first of the set up pages so you can turn it off and not have to wait endlessly for iPad to figure out the server doesn't use SSL.
If you have a number of email accounts to set up on your iPad, I have 5, this was burdensome and should be addressed in an iOS update IMHO.

Choose Hotmail for Hotmail and Other for the other one.
The phone will try to determine the server addresses automatically. If it can't you'll be asked for them. If you don't know them you'll have to contact the email provider and ask.
