Email folder gone after 5.0.0.484 update

I updated my OS to 5.0.0.484 with no problems, except one...my personal email folder is now gone and I can't figure out how to get it back. Email itself is working fine and new mail showing up in the default 'Messages' folder, but I want to have my personal email folder back.
Any ideas?

I suggest the following steps:
1) Register HRT
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS conduits for the affected email accounts.
Occam's Razor nearly always applies when troubleshooting technology issues!

If your main account is gmail follow the instructions below:
Quit Mail.app.
Log into Gmail in your favorite web browser.
Click on the gear menu and select Settings.
Click on the Labels tab.
Under System Labels, next to Drafts, click on show if unread and uncheck the Show in IMAP box. Now disable Store draft messages on the server.
Launch Mail.app.
Select Mail → Preferences…
Click on the Accounts button in the toolbar.
Click once on the account name and then click the Mailbox Behaviors tab.
Uncheck the Store draft messages on the server box.
Close the window and opt to save your changes when prompted.
Follow the steps above and your draft messages should "magically" reappear in your draft folder on Mail. Here is the full link:

Where has my library gone after downloading the latest iTunes update?

Hello, I have just opened iTunes after recently downloading the latest update and i have just backed up my iPad to find all my music, apps, films etc have disappeared from my iTunes library. The only thing that is on there is my daughters One Direction albums! Any ideas? Was working fine before the update

Main in inbox and sent folder gone after recreating mail account in prefs

I called my ISP when I was getting outgoing mail server error messages. Their tech person said that I had to recreate that email account. They had me delete the existing account then basically make the account again. Expletives deleted. The result for this brilliant advice was that all the mail in my inbox (800 messages) and sent mail copies (maybe 4000 messages) is gone. Apparently over written by a new account with the same name as the old one. I didn't expect that the mail messages themselves would be removed, just the account settings. Is there any sort of trash place that I might be able to recover them from? I've checked the obvious places in myuseraccount>library>mail.

Your ISP gave you some not so good advice without being familiar with the Mail.app account and associated mailbox filing structure at the Finder level. Not good news but don't shoot the messenger.
Before deleting an account in Tiger Mail, the following warning message is provided:
Are you sure you want to remove the (account type here) account “XXXXXXXXXX”?
This will permanently delete the account setup information, mailboxes, and messages from your computer. Copies of messages on the mail server, if they exist, are not affected.
This is usually ignored or not completely understood but is based on the Mail.app filing structure so now the long winded answer for the reason.
Many other email clients utilize a single large database which is not dependent on individual account and associated mailbox filing.
When creating an account in Mail, an account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) is created in the Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail using the Finder.
For POP type accounts, the following mailbox (mbox) folders are created within the account named folder when the function is used by the account: INBOX.mbox, Drafts.mbox, Sent Messages.mbox, Deleted Messages.mbox and Junk.mbox (when Junk mail is set to automatic). The mbox folders within the account named folder represent the account named mailboxes under In, Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk (when Junk mail is set to automatic) in the Mail.app mailboxes drawer.
When deleting an account in Mail, the account named folder at Home > Library > Mail is deleted at that time and as the warning message indicates, the associated account mailboxes within the account named folder are also deleted. You must select OK after the warning message appears.
It would be preferable for the account named folder to be moved to the hard drive Trash can which requires an additional step to delete but this is not what occurs.
To have any hope of recovering your data, you need to immediately stop using your system and then purchase a copy of a recovery tool such as Tech Tool Pro (Micromat) or Data Rescue (Prosoft Engineering), both of which have data recovery tools. I've not used Data Rescue, but I've seen reports that it recovers files that the others cannot, so it might be your best hope. The chances generally aren't really good even so, but short of sending your drive to a data recovery service (expensive), such utilities are your only hope.
Note that the more you use your system before you attempt recovery, the more likely it is that the system will overwrite the sections of the drive where the data you want to recover is stored, rendering it unrecoverable by any means. You should therefore stop using the system completely until you get and try to use one of the file recovery tools.
This also emphasizes the importance of maintaining a regular backup of the Mail folder and other important data.

Disaster - Entire Pictures folder gone after "empty trash" command?

This is a huge SOS. I'm working on several important projects that all require lots of photos, and have just spent the day working on more of them. I'm also a photographer and have hundreds and hundreds of photos in that folder of family, friends, other work projects etc. etc.
Anyway, here are the details: I hadn't emptied the trash in a couple weeks because I've been reorganizing files, deleting a bunch of stuff and also weeding out early versions of photos as I tweaked and changed them. However, after a careful check through the trash, looking to see if I had the original AIFF file of a particular mp3 I'd made, I discovered about 10-15 photos in the trash that I didn't think should be there, I'd recently color coded them for a project I'm working on, and they were pics I'd paid for from a stock footage house. I figured either I'd forgotten that I'd made copies and it was actually ok for them to be there, or they somehow ended up in the trash by mistake. To be safe, I dragged them back into a particular folder within my Pictures folder on the sidebar. Then I emptied the trash, not with the quick key command, but by going to Finder>empty trash. (if that matters) The number of files in the trash surprised me, over 5000, but I figured I'd just had even more files in the trash than I realized... anyway, after I emptied the trash I went back to work on my project, or tried to - the Pictures folder was GONE from the sidebar. Just poof, gone. I did a search with Spotlight, Finder. No sign of the folder. And pls. don't tell me I should have backed them all up to another drive. Of course I should have but I work in AV and everytime I am finally able to buy a new hard drive, a new project ends up taking up it's space.

I'm sure you are pretty annoyed with the whole thing, but at least you are in recovery mode now. If you add a folder to the sidebar it is just an alias, same as the dock, and if you dragged it to the trash, it would still not delete the files is was pointing to so it is a bit of a mystery how they got there.
I have done a bit of extensive photo editing and sometimes I would create a new folder in the directory I was working in and call it 'throw' or something, so only after checking that i was keeping what i intended and verifying the redundant would I then drag that throw folder to the trash and empty it there and then as any doubt had been removed.

Exchange email folder problem after wiping and restoring

Recently I decided to test using Exchange Remote wipe to wipe my iPad. First I made sure I used iTunes to do a backup/sync. Then I used OWA for Exchange 2007 to remotely wipe my iPad which happened successfully. Then I plugged it into my computer and restored my iPad.
Ever since then, the contents of my e-mail folders on the iPad don't match up with the folder names. They are shifted up by one. This only appears this way on the iPad, so I know the messages aren't just in the wrong folders on the Exchange server. Below is a representation of what's happening:
Inbox (actually contains inbox messages)
Sent (appears empty on the iPad)
70FB9178-576E... (Contains messages from the All Folder on the iPad)
All (Contains messages from the Backups Folder on the iPad)
Backups (Contains messages from the Folder below it on the iPad)
I'm guessing that removing exchange sync and re-adding it will correct it, but I'm wondering of anyone else has ever run into this issue.

Having the same issue. We tested the remote wipe on my iPad to ensure that we had it set up correctly, and now all my folders are shifted by one. Did you ever get an answer to this?

Email Account Problems after iOS 5.0.1 update on iPad 2 & iPhone 4

After finishing the iOS 5.0.1 update - I have noticed none of my email accounts are working (i.e. Error saying Incorrent Password or Username).
I have deleted the associated accounts and added them once again, verifying both username and passwords as well and now it will NOT verify any accounts on both. Still no luck on both devices.
Odd that both devices email accounts stop working after the new update?
Anyone know of a fix/problem?

Same problem, this happens with any Safari site that requires a user name and password to log in ... frustrating! I have also posted this issue and will be stopping by Apple on my way home ... I'll let you know what I find out.

Email deletion procedure after 10-13-09 RIM update

After performing an update on 10-13-09 to my 8330 I find that there is only a delete option for email. Previously when performing a delete, I was queried as to hand held & network or just the hand held. I have become fond of managing my email from the BB and do not like losing that capability. Is there a way to undo the update or to obtain the previous version for installation.

I too updated my (sprint) 8330 and I still have the option.
From the message list -> Options -> Email Reconciliation -> Delete On: (prompt/handheld/mailbox and handheld)

MUSIC FOLDER MISSING AFTER FINAL CUT PRO X UPDATE

I cant see the music folders that come with Final Cut pro after the most recent update (i.e. special effects, etc). PLEASE HELP!

Usb gone after resume from hibernate (since update?)

Hello!
Since a recent update, my wireless usb stick's interface isn't available any more after resume from hibernate. Removing it and connecting it to a different USB port does not help.
lsusb says, the device itsself is there.
I can see it being removed / added when I connect it to a different usb port.
The only interface iwconfig / ifconfig list is "lo" though. No wlan0 available.
No idea what to try next... any hints?

Have there been issues with updates?
A while after that, my usb mouse/keyboard stopped working after resume, too.
Then after a few days, wifi started working...
Then usb input started working again...
Now usb input devices stopped working again -.-
I think there were updates (kernel, too) every time the behaviour changed... not sure though...
Still no idea what to do.

If the Mail application will not launch, I would recommend processing any available updates on your Mac Pro and test launching Mail. If the issue persists, process a reinstall of Mavericks.

It sounds like you are trying to send emails but for some reason, thousands show activity. I would start by re indexing the mailbox to help troubleshoot the issue:
1.Quit Mail if it’s open.
2.In ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData, delete any file that begins with “Envelope Index,” such as Envelope Index or Envelope Index-shm.To show your home Library folder, hold down the Option key, then in the Finder choose Go > Library.
3.Open Mail.Mail creates new Envelope Index files. This process may take a few minutes, depending on how many messages Mail is reindexing.

If the issue persists, I would next remove the account, restart the computer, and re add the account:
1.Choose Mail > Preferences, then click Accounts.
2.Select an account, then click Remove.

Removing an Exchange or IMAP account doesn’t permanently delete the account’s mailboxes and messages because they’re stored on the mail server. To retrieve the account’s mailboxes and messages from the server, add the account again in Mail.
To add the account again, click the rather than the as described above and retest the issue.

How to recover emails from Mail after account is deleted accidentally. All my emails are now gone and i am standing no where. Can any body help me out by recovering my emails.

After having problem in getting emails from pop server, i thought of removing account and adding it again. Problem was solved but all my previous emails are gone.
Really needed all my emails back. Tried but could went through. Also purchased once software "EaseUS", no further progress was achieved. It only recovered deleted emails which was of no significance for me.
Can any one help me out. I have no "Time Machine" active on my mac book pro.

I tried to restore the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/imananddinasbroadcast but feedburner refused.
I know that I missed things up but I still have hope in working things out.
