Email Folders Lost

I recently updated to 3.1.3 and after that I had problems with battery discharging rapidly and overheating. After talking with apple, they had me do a restore on my iphone. After I completed that, I had lost all of my applications and now I have no email folders to put in past emails that I may want to save in a folder! Any suggestions on how I go about creating these folders again?

The applications would be in your iTunes library (hopefully!). If not, you'll need to redownload them, but at least that's free.
The only way you could have had folders other than Sent/Drafts/Trash is with an IMAP or Exchange email account. Those folders live on the server (check using a webmail or computer mail client), so if you are properly accessing the account, they should be transferred to the phone.

    Other options?

It's not that simple. You didn't lose your Office 2004 suite. Office 2004 won't run in Mountain Lion. You need to update your Office software. You need to purchase either Office 2008 or 2011. Either one can run in Mountain Lion.

  • Lost saved email & folders

Fro some reason I have recently lost a number of saved email folders containing many client emails containg text, jpeg and other data. Can I retrieve this data from the Comcast server? Or is there another way to retrieve this lost data? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I use the xfinity mail (not Outlokk or other email program). Thank you.

It was a joke speaking with Security today. Some gentlemen from overseas answered who I could barely understand, and was frustrated with me because I was going out of the boundries of what appeared to be his scripted answers. He suggested that I check my email preferrences to make sure my delete schedule was set to never, than proceeded to tell me that he would have to open a case to try and find my folders that are disappearing at a rate of 2 a day. I went to the trash folder and right clicked to find the recover tab, and there were no folders. Everything the rep replied was everything I already told him, INTIENDEN,CAPICHE,...WOW! My suggestion is to search and recover what you can and save to an external drive, Comcast has gotten to big and shows little quality in their service of late, along with lousy phone service with dropped calls regularly. I don't understand why we are putting up with this Monopoly, maybe we should all switch service.

  • After migrating to new mac, email folders are lost.

I used Migration Assistant to transfer files and data from my old MacBook Air to my new MacBook Air. Everything seems to have transferred just fine, except for my email folders. I have tried plugging in Time Machine to restore them from my backups on my old mac, but the new mac doesn't recognize backups on the old one, so I can't access it through Time Machine while in the mail program. So then I tried searching for my mail files, which (according to what I've read) should be in Library/Mail, but I have no Mail folder that I can find by that path (or, really, by any other). I believe both macs are running Mountain Lion.

That Library folder is actually the one in your home folder, which is hidden. You can view it by clicking the Go menu in Finder while holding the Option key down - you'll then see a shortcut to Library.
The mail is held in ~/Library/Mail/V2, inside folders named for each mail account. You should be able to use the File - Import Mailboxes menu in Mail to retrieve them.

  • OMG Where are all my email folders?

All the email folders I created (about 12) to organize mail from clients and personal contacts are gone ... tell me I haven't lost the messages as well!
I tried to pull them out of TimeMachine from before I did the upgrade to 10.8 and I can't - previous backups are "pinked" out.
Seems like other may be having simular problems. Hope this is easily resolvable :/
Also - seems like I can't "Quit" email - need to force quit!

I have submitted feedback several times during the past few years and never received a response on this topic.
This inability to recognize the importance of this feature to the average business smartphone user is pure practical blindness on Apple's part.  Ask any real business man or woman who has made the change to the iPhone and they will tell you that this is the one feature that makes them not love their iPhone 100 percent.  Ask any well informed business person why they have not switched over to the iPhone and the lack of this "should be standard" feature will be near if not on top of their list of reasons.
This will lead me right back to a Windows based smartphone along with all of my employees and vendors which I influence.  All the fun stuff focus and ignoring this basic business function will continue to cost Apple a big share of the business user market.  They could dominate if they listened to some real business users.
Very sad.  Great potential ignored and lost.

  • Facebook notifications while using seperate email folders?

I don't use the primary message folder because I like my emails seperate. When I get a Facebook notification via email, it would typically be intercepted by the FB app and would go to the location on the FB app (Like messages or notifications). This doesn't happen anymore when I hid the primary message folder and only used the individual email folders. Is there any way to fix this? It annoys the fact that I can't just quickly click on the folder and see what's up. Now I have to go to the Facebook app itself and look there.
    Thanks!

  • Move email folders from one account to another . Both on Thunderbird

We have our email email on Thunderbird client at one domain name. We are switching the domain name (or rather shortening it) . How do I move the 500+ email folders to new domain without manual copy and paste?

Some possible options in no particular order:
    (1) Copy the folders to a SUB Thumb Drive.
    (2) Use Dropbox
    (3) If your Macs are compatible with AirDrop see list:
MacBook Pro (Late 2008 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2010 or newer)
    MacBook (Late 2008 or newer)
    iMac (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Mini (Mid 2010 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2009 with AirPort Extreme card, or Mid 2010)
Activate AirDrop on both Macs to Move/Copy your Mail Folders.

    What instructions?
In the source list click devices (so far so good) then click the entry for your iphone or ipod.  that doesn't exist. HELP asap
You don't import photos from the iPhone to your computer using iTunes.
See this -> iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
Note this only applies to photos taken with the iPhone. Any photos you previously added to your iPhone using iTunes should be copied from old computer to new computer.

BTW if this is your first Mac or you're not familiar with how to create folders and rules I'd recommend watching the following Mail tutorials:

  • Outgoing email completely lost (Mail app with Gmail account) - Insanely awkward

This is gonna be hard to explain as I have no "evidence" but here's what happened for the 3rd time now in the last 2-3 months on Yosemite using a Gmail account from Mail app.
I write a mail (either reply or new one), send it and it get's completely lost. Can't find it anywhere neither from within the Mail app nor in Gmail's web interface. No error message, nothing. At first I thought I closed my laptop too soon after I hit the send button. I don't even know how to Google this issue, most of the similar issues and resolutions talk about SMTP and/or authentication errors, but again I don't have any error message.
In one instance the message was indeed not delivered, in another one (that just happened to me yesterday) the recipient received the message but I still can't find it.
    Anyone ever experienced the same?
While this is very low amount of occurrence, it is still very very annoying and creates awkward situations in a business context. I always think people who say "I have sent the message, haven't you received it?" are lying because there's no way an email gets lost like this.. And now I'm the one for the third time that asks this the other party.
Anyone knows a way I could trace a message from some log file or anything? Any suggestions, insights are welcome.
    Thanks
    Dan

These are the "out of the box" file formats that you can view on the iPad as mail attachments. If the file is not listed here, you cannot view it without a compatible third party app. What is the file extension?
Viewable document types: .jpg, .tiff, .gif (images); .doc and .docx (Microsoft Word); .htm and .html (web pages); .key (Keynote); .numbers (Numbers); .pages (Pages); .pdf (Preview and Adobe Acrobat); .ppt and .pptx (Microsoft PowerPoint); .txt (text); .rtf (rich text format); .vcf (contact information); .xls and .xlsx (Microsoft Excel)
