Email freezing up

Ever since updating to IOS 8 on my iPad 3 I have had a slew of problems.  recent has to do with email freezing up...when I try to type an email the popup keyboard locks up.  If it's not locked up it blocks ability to view message I am typing.  Any ideas ?

Does this happen on any email or just specific emails?  I ask this because I have seen this with some messages sent with attachments and the download attachment option is checked..
I have had no issue with K9 Email client from the market, give it a try and see if the bug is in the stock email client..

new update on IPhone now email freezes and I never know when someone texts me also typing takes phone awhile to catch up its all in slow motion

Sounds like you haven't yet taken ALL the recommended troubleshooting steps outlined in the User Guide (restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW).
In addition, you might want to get another SIM card from your carrier.

  • Emails freeze up

Exchange Server 2007 running on Windows 2007 Server Entreprise with the failover cluster management
We have power shutdown over the weekend for maintenance.  After the power was back, we turned on the servers.  Outlook failed to open at that point.  The Exchange show failure to mount and sync the database.  We restored the database
using the power shell tool.  Now our emails freeze up and slow particularly if we want to open attachments.  It was working perfectly well before the power shutdown.
    Can anyone help please ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Do you use Outlook cached mode or online mode? If Outlook Cached Mode, how about recreating the Outlook profile and re-download the data from the Exchange DB? Does it work smoothly
    via OWA?
    Thanks,

  • Email freezes & all keyboard and notification sounds have disappeared

My Email freezes on a regular basis and the iPad has to be powered off and back on to unfreeze. Since the last iOS upgrade I've lost all keyboard and notification sounds although I can still play music etc.

    Try a reset:
Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple logo.

Email response went to outbox, tried to resend and email freezes..will not allow cancellation, or any other action

Was this an unusual mail message in any way, such as a message with a very large attachment?  If so, it may not be permitted by the mail server.
If you mean that all of Mail.app is currently wedged, then option-click (and hold) on the Mail.app icon in the dock and (when the popup appears) select force quit.
If Mail.app is not wedged (and if it's just this message that's stuck), then ignore this and don't force-quit mail.  Just Quit from mail.
Take your network offline.  (If Mail.app is working, you can take all your mail accounts offline, but shutting off WiFi or removing your wired connection will work well enough for the purposes here.)
Relaunch Mail.app and select Mailbox > Rebuild from the menu.
Then select the Window > Connection Doctor from the menu, and see if any errors are reported.
    Then nuke the message.
Then reconnect your network, or take your mail accounts back online.

Not sure but this might be a Windows Control Panel Issue.

  • Email freezes up when I click on links

I have multiple email accounts hooked up to my Iphone 5 (gmail, microsoft outlook work account, etc.) and no matter which account I am looking at emails in, when I click on a link the whole email viewer freezes up and I have to force shut the program down.  I have turned the phone on and off and wasn't sure what else I could do to fix it. The phone is only a couple of months old and I bought it directly from the Verizon store.

I know how important email is to staying connected WhatistheStory. I use email for work, school, and volunteering and not staying updated can cause me to fall behind. I'm sorry you have to shut down when checking email, especially with a new phone. I understand you have multiple email accounts but one may have an incompatibility issue with your device, especially if you downloaded the app from the play store. The app may also need to be updated. I recommend removing each email, one at a time and readding them to find out which may be causing the issue or which may need to be updated. You may also have many emails being synced at the same time which may cause phone to freeze. Try removing the sync from one or two of the email accounts and manually syncing them. This may work and clear cache and browser history periodically. Let us know if this helps and keep us posted.

  • Yahoo mail new emails freeze with v13.0.1

Since yesterdays (6/20/12) Firefox update to v 13.0.1 I haven't been able to write a new email using Yahoo mail. Symptoms are:
-The autocomplete feature for addresses doesn't work
-It takes a long time ~ 3 minutes with the message "loading attachment updater" for the applet that attaches files to emails to load.
    - And then Firefox freezes and I have to use the Apple "force quit" feature to exit Firefox.
Yahoo mails works fine if I use Safari.

    Hi,

  • In Mac OS 10.5.8 my yahoo email freezes up since upgrading to the new firefox.

I have 3 yahoo accounts and when I go to email, the screen freezes up every time.

[http://asqueella.blogspot.com/2010/12/dyld-unknown-required-load-command.html Here's an Explanation]. Basically you need to add "arch -i386 " at the beginning of the command because 10.5 is 32-bit only and more recent versions of Firefox default to 64-bit.

  • My yahoo email freezes up my calender on my iphone 5

When I add my Yahoo email to my phone the calender freezes up???
    My Gmail email works fine....
    Help???

    Hi fromnapa,
It may help to force close all open apps and reset your iPhone.
Force an app to close in iOS
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT5137
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT1430
If you're still unable to retrieve your recent email, the next step would be to reinstall iOS on your device by placing it in Recovery Mode, then choosing Update in iTunes.
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on

  • Email freezing in Lion upgrade

Upgraded late 2009 MacBook Pro 8GB 2.8Ghz 500GB from Snow Leopard to Lion - starting to run slow.
Now when I open mail and "respond" to it (in the iMail application) it freezes and I have to manually power it down.
I have been on the phone with Apple 4 times alone today.  Here is what we have done:
    1) reinstalled Lion (twice)
    2) installed all the software updates
    3) emptied entire cache from Library
    4) removed the emails that were up when this began
    5) run disk utility / repair disk / verify disk / repair disk permissions / verify disk permissions
I have no third party plugins or other types of attachments to my mail and there is nothing unusual in my mail.
I am basically at a loss.  Any one out there be able to help me?

  • Email freeze

I just migrated my data from an older iMac to a new 2009 iMac and my mail will not open a viewer window except when I do it manually. The mail will not connect even though my settings work fine.
I can receive email at the address on my iPhone with no problem

The fact that it doesn't work in a different login account does suggest a system-wide problem, rather than a problem with eg your mail files or preferences. It might not be just Mail, but try reinstalling it and see if it helps. Put in your installation disk, find the optional installs and select Mail. Before running Mail download and run 10.5.6 Combo Update.

  • Yahoo email freezes when trying to send.

    Using Windows XP home edition.
I can compose email in Yahoo. But as soon as I click '''SEND'', the SEND & SAVE AS DRAFT button get greyed out. It says "loading" somewhere on the page. I wait and the Loading word goes away. I do not get verification that the email was sent as it should state. I have to reload the page to be able to go to any folder in Yahoo to see my SENT folder in order to verify that it indeed was sent. 98%, I find the message in the sent folder so It got sent.
This does not happen using IExp.
I have this same problem with 2 separate computers, so its not just happening on one pc.
Any ideas to try? Thanks in advance

    Try this:
    Click on the Contacts icon
    Select the Menu key
    Select Settings
If the Only contacts with phones is checked, uncheck it

  • Email freezes when using reply.

When replying to emails the SEND and SAVE buttons turn grey and I have to turn my iPad 2 off and on again before I can send.  I can however continue typing.

Close the Mail app in the Task Bar and re-launch.
Double-click the Home button to reveal Task Bar. Hold Mail app down for a second or two; tap the minus sign to close app.
If it still doesn't work, try a reset.
Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

  • EMAIL FREEZING! I'M GOING NUTS!

I can access my email online through Firefox but when I click on the mail icon on the bottom of my screen (rather than going to mac.com online) it opens the application and then the "waiting" rainbow ball goes on too and it doesn't open anything. you can't click on any of the toolbar options nor does it show any email- going in or out. Why can't I access this anymore????

The Installer app first looks at the receipts folder and if it finds a receipt for the same software being installed it gives the "can't install" message.
Removing the receipt (but leaving all the other installed parts) should allow the installer to only add "missing" files.
Try the install while logged on as a different user. Create an account if needed.
Last resort is to move the QuickTime Player from the Applications folder to the Desktop. Delete it after the new install is tested.
