  • Emails from camera roll saved to wrong folder -- IMAP Path Prefix Problem

    I think there's a problem with the behaviour of the way picture emails are saved when you have an IMAP Path Prefix.
    I have an IMAP Path Prefix of "INBOX"... i.e. my sent folder is Inbox/Sent. Any plaintext emails I send from the email application from the iPhone are correctly saved to that folder and I can see them in that folder immediately via the iPhone's interface.
    When I navigate to the camera roll or photo album and send a picture email to somebody, and use the iPhone to go view the sent folder, they never appear in the sent folder. For a while I thought they weren't being saved at all, but I just discovered from my home PC that the camera roll app is indeed saving them somewhere: in Inbox/Inbox/Sent.
    That's right--I now have a new Inbox folder inside my Inbox folder, with just a Drafts and Sent folder. Drafts is Empty, Sent has all the picture emails I've ever sent with the iPhone.
    Bug? I think so... Emails emanating from the camera app are taking the IMAP Path Prefix twice instead of once, and then creating that Path Prefix folder if it doesn't already exist.
    Anybody else with an IMAP Path Prefix experiencing this with picture emails from the camera roll?
    Thanks,
    Andi

    Ahhh interesting to find someone else with the same problem! It definitely happens when you send a photo message. My mac mail it shows my Inbox with a new nested sent items folder. I am using fusemail and the iPhone seriously messes with the folder structure. All sent items folders vanished for some reason on the mail server (but not in mac mail oddly) and I had to call technical support to make them reappear. I think this happened when I altered the Settings, Mail, Advanced settings, Mail box behaviour folders after having this problem with sent photo messages.
    Now fusemail's webserver shows TWO Inboxes, one nested inside the other, and a "Sent Items" folder within the "new" inboxes.
    Totally strange. I think there is a bug or two in the iPhone's IMAP software. Hoping for a bug fix soon, but until then perhaps a good work around might be to set the iPhone to store sent messages locally?

  • Beginner help to send an email from PHP

    I hope this isn't too easy to answer - I think I must be doing something fairly simple wrong.
    I want to send an email from a PHP page, using SOAP so the mail appears in the sender's sent items, as if it was done in the usual way.
    We're using Groupwise 8.02
    Using the example code in phpClient/phpClient.php I have got a list of folders/emails in my mailbox, so the authentication and access to Groupwise is obviously working. However, in that file there isn't a send mail example, so I copied the one from phpSOAP/client.php and it doesn't work.....the error seems to be 59920 which might be something to do with the session missing, but I find this hard to believe since the folders can be retrieved with the same object.
    Here is the code for mail sending I'm using:
    $mail = new Mail();
    $mail->subject = "php item";
    $dist = new Distribution();
    $from = new From();
    $from->displayName = "Paul Green";
    $from->email = "[email protected]";
    $dist->from = "[email protected]";;
    $dist->to = "Paul Green";
    $rlist = new RecipientList();
    $recip1 = new Recipient();
    $recip1->displayName = "Peter";
    $recip1->email = "[email protected]";
    $recip2 = new Recipient();
    $recip2->displayName = "Andy";
    $recip2->email = "[email protected]";
    $rlist->recipient = array ($recip1, $recip2);
    $dist->recipients = $rlist;
    $mail->distribution = $dist;
    $mp = new MessagePart();
    $mp->_ = "This is a test!";
    $mb = new MessageBody();
    $mb->part = $mp;
    $mail->message = $mb;
    $sir = new sendItemRequest();
    $sir->item = $mail;
    $sires = $gwservice->sendItemRequest($sir);
    Looking around, it seems to me that some of the objects haven't got the properties that the above code expects (eg the from object), so is the schema wrong somewhere?
    What I would like, but couldn't find, is some simple example code that works!
    Does anyone know the simplest way to send an email via SOAP?
    Many thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.

    The phpClient code was a proof of concept.
    I only hand fixed a few of the requests.
    If you use that code, you will need to go into each
    request you want to use and put in code to put in the
    session string. You need to do that in GroupWiseService.php.
    You may need to modify the individual files, ie Filter.php.
    The phpSOAP code works better / easier. You shouldn't have
    to modify that code. (You should be able to just use it.)
    That said, I only did a spot check. The code is as is. There
    is no support for it.

  • Any way I can stop 9,000 eMails from downloading?

    I did not know if this was an iMac desktop question or an iCloud question.
    I'm quite the oldster amateur.
    Please advise if there is a better Community for this to be in,
    and I will try to move it (if that can be done).
    I have an iCloud account.
    But hardly ever go there.
    I "do" all my eMail from my "Mail" application on my iMac desktop computer, running OSX 10.7.5
    Typically when I open Mail, I'll see a ittle activity window activate in the lower left corner of Mail,
    saying something like "Downloading 1 of 4 Messages" or something like that.  I get very little mail.
    Maybe it will show an activity "bar" for just a second or two,
    Tonight, I opened Mail on my desktop, the little activity window started up,
    and it said something like "Downloading 103 of 9,669 Messages"
    WHAT!?!?!
    I clicked a little "x" in the activity window, then CLOSED the Mail application.
    a) I've had this computer for years, with iCloud and using the Mail app.
    Same mail address, same computing habits.
    Have probably averaged 8 or 10 spam or nuisance eMails a YEAR.
    What the **** happened?
    b) What can I do, anything?, to keep them from downloading onto my computer?
    If I go onlilne to iCloud will they already be there, waiting for my Mail app to download them to my computer?
    Andy help advice GREATLY appreciated.
    James

    I'm letting my two friends use my Apple ID
    Why?
    Let them create their own.
    Change your AppleID password and don't give it to your friends.

  • Strange email from BT

    Hi,
      Today I received an email from BT that I had used 7GB of 10GB, not that unusual since I do use my connection for online gaming. However, as an option 3 customer I should have a limit of 100GB (I have checked my profile at btinternet.com and it agrees that I am option 3). Has anyone else had this message and is there a specific number I could phone to inquire with BT?

    Sweeney47 wrote:
    There was something similar about this flagging up before, I think it was Andy who mentioned it whereby people were getting incorrect emails from BT about usage and 'welcome' emails.
    I would recommend you contact BT just to make sure either by phone or you could contact the forum team by email at [email protected]
    Indeed it was me. A user did report receiving the 100GB email by mistake (not a welcome email).
    As the OP has now also shown, there is something wrong with the system and can't be trusted

  • Cannot send email from yahoo account on iPhone 5

    I just got an iPhone5 and I couldn't set up my Yahoo email as "yahoo"--it would not allow me to complete the process despot multiple attempts. I had to set it up as an "other" account. I can receive and read emails on my phone, but when I reply those messages will not send. They go to the outbox and an error message pops up that says" the email account has been rejected by the server" Does anyone have advice on either issue: setting up yahoo properly and/or sending email from phone?

  • Cannot send email from non .mac server

    I am only able to send/reply emails using my .mac address. My 2 other server addresses keep giving me the following message.
    "Cannot send mail. One of the recipient addresses was invalid".
    How can I fix this?

    You should be able to send email from Safari, however I do wonder why you wish to do this and whether there is something inherently wrong with using your mail app and your iCloud address.

  • Cannot send email from MobileMe account

    Apple recently pushed out an update to the MobileMe calendar. Since upgrading my account, I am unable to send emails from Firefox4 (current version) in Windows. The page sits indefinitely at a loading screen. Apple Support won't help because it isn't an issue with Safari. Anyone else have this issue?

    When using the MobileMe account preset to create the account, the SMTP server is created with 587 as the SMTP server port, which can't be changed when using the MM account preset to create the account.

  • Cannot send email from messages app

    Hey everyone
    I am unable to send an email from my iPhone to any email address. This feature was working perfectly a couple weeks ago. Once I noticed the issue, I restored my phone and upgraded it to iOS 6.1. This still did not fix the error unfortunately.
    Any advice?

    resolved part one: played around with mail preferences of user two to match prefs in user one
    still do not know about access to TDM saved addressbook data.

  • Cannot send email from my college email account

    For some reason, I'm not able to send an email to my professors. I know it's not my account, in general. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the Mac format because I have sent an email from my account on a PC. Does anyone know how I can change my email settings or email format to be able to send an email from my MacBook Pro?

    First you have to find out on what PORT the SMTP your "College" is allowing through there firewalls. Then in Mail go to the Mail menu item name "Mail" and in it's drop-down select Preferences. Then click on the account for your "College" email servers. Then in the right-hand pane use the SMTP drop-down to edit the SMTP server settings to the SMTP server port your "college" is allowing through.maybe port 587.

  • Cannot send email from an iPhone to a Outlook group.

    Hi,
    My question is simple and I'd like an exactly same answer : Can iPhone users send emails from their iPhone's to one or more groups created in Outlook?
    This is my situation: our organization is using iPhone to provide email, calendar, contact, task etc. to some of their employees. We are using Airwatch MDM Agent on user's iPhone because we have an Airwatch server in place. I have an user and she has an iPhone 5 and she has created some groups in Outlook but these groups are not reflected in her Contacts in the iPhone. I have update her phone with the latest update, although I was almost sure that this was not the issue, then I've found some interesting posts on internet saying that this was a known problem for the users with the previous iOS but I thought this might has been corrected with the iOS, apparently not.
    Also I've tried ''the trick'' that is posted on several forums with the iCloud but neither so it's working. I am looking for a straight answer, if this works or not on iPhone's?
    Thanks,
    Sebastian.

    There indeed ARE apps in the app store that will do what you want.  Just search and find the one that best fits your needs.

  • Cannot send email from the Mail App?

    I've had an izymail subscription for 1 year and just renewed it last week. I could never send an email from my Mail App without a window popping up stating "izymail cannot connect to the server" and the sending bar (along the bottom of the screen) just freezes and will not send.
    I've a Hotmail account linked up to izymail. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

    I fixed my problem - I deleted my email account on my iPhone, then tried to setup a new account. I had a few problems setting it up. It wouldn't recognize the incoming or outgoing servers and I lost my email altogether for a few hours. Then I changed every setting possible and finally figured out that I had 2-3 "Other SMTP Servers" as well as my "Primary Server". Once I deleted the Other SMTP Servers, my email worked and i'm able to send emails now!
    I also think changing the "Server Port" number helped solve my problem also, and making sure "Use SSL" was turned off.

    You can try deleting the account on your iphone and setting it up again.
