Email from Apple with pictures

When I get Apple mail with pictures (i.e. "New Mac") it displays question marks instead of pictures. Why? Since it is from Apple to an iPhone..it should just display correctly...right?
I can't think of a setting that I may have wrong...but thought I'd check.
Thanks all,

Those pictures show up when the Mail client has not finished downloading all the information on the message. Generally, it skips automatically downloading pictures for the sake of speed.
There should be a button at the very bottom of the email to prompt it to finish downloading the message. Hit that and the photos will download and be visable.

  • I've been banned received an apologetic email from Apple with a link attached but upon attempt to login I was again denied

My Apple ID has been banned with no email explaining why. Odd right? We'll, even more odd is the apology from Apple which looks like this:
Well ok I was going to copy and paste, but my iPhone 5c won't allow it. I even took a pic and it offers copy or define I select copy, return here and My options are select/select all to copy not paste. I used the icon at the bottom left as a different route, same result. I brought my phone to Apple yesterday and springboard software issues again. For the 2nd time in 6 weeks the phone was wiped and software reloaded. Same issues only worse. They promised to replace it next time. Here's the deal: that would mark replacement number 9 for this line over a 6 month span...I also would like to know who do I ask or report the fact that I've received zero Genius Bar receipts displaying work done for any of the 8 previous replacements & these 2 tech support services. I like to document & keep stuff like this. It's important. Well this has become 2 questions in one. Thanks in advance to all who take time to read this & respond.
For the hosts here's the link I was sent via the apologetic email:

Your title says you received an apologic email but then your first post says you did not receive an email.
What exactly have you been banned from? Was it these forums or something else?

  • HT204053 i'm trying to set up iCloud on new 5s and it is telling me to check my email for instructions to verify my account, yet there isn't an email from Apple for me to check.

I'm trying to set up iCloud on a 5s and it is telling me to check my email for instructions on how to verify my account, yet there isn't an email from Apple with this information?

Make sure you are checking the email address you used to set up your iCloud account.  Check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox.  If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.

  • Why don't I get an email from Apple for an Appleid reset?

Just updated new Itunes a few days ago and my Apple ID which had a credit balkance on it cannot be recovered.
I have gone through the password reset process at least 20 times not but I never receive an email from Apple with the reset link.
    HELP PLEASE

That is because you are using a POP account. POP is all local as far as sending emails goes and local for receiving unless you select to leave a copy of the incoming mail on the server for x number of days.
Only with a IMAP or MS Exchange email accounts does sent & incoming emails get saved on the server.
Actually with POP your sent mail never sees your email provider server, except in that it passes through it on its way to the email address you have address the email to.

  • Got the email from Apple Aperture compatible with future versions of iOS?  (Mac OS?)

Got the email from Apple about Aperture this morning.  They had a huge omission:  are they going to keep Aperture compatible with future iOS? If not, I want, at a minimum, a refund for what I paid for the app.

They had a huge omission:  are they going to keep Aperture compatible with future iOS?
There will be no further development of Aperture. That much should be clear from the announcement, that Aperture will no longer be sold at the AppStore.  You are lucky - you used the last chance to buy the best photos app  ever Apple created. The new Photos is not intended to be  used by professional photographers like Aperture was. And you will be able to use and enjoy it as long as you keep a compatible operating system on your Mac.

  • Send email from iPhone with my iCloud alias

    Hi,
My iCloud account is, let's say: [email protected]
I created an alias, let's say: [email protected]
I would like to use "[email protected]" on my iPhone and iPad but that seems impossible.
    1. i tried "add a new account" with "[email protected]": i'm said my password is not valid
    2. i tried to modify my current iCloud account: impossible, everything is greyed, the only way would be to delete the current, default iCloud account.
So, what can be done in order to send an email on my iPhone from "[email protected]"?
    Thanks.

No problem Scottie, you did your best indeed ;-)
Yes I tried to login on icloud.com, no problem at all.
What's more, before posting (starting the present thread), I'd called AppleCare: they certified there was no problem to set up an alias on my iPhone. Now I don't get time to talk with them again. Enough is enough.
And just for the record: right after reentering my default "[email protected]" account details into my iPhone, i got an email from Apple saying "somebody" had done so on my iPhone and I'd better change my password!
That means, at least to my opinion, that aliases are not taken into account at all by Apple on iDevices. The only thing that matters is our default "[email protected]".
One more thing: why do I want an alias? Because as a former .mac and .mobileme customer I'm NOT ALLOWED BY APPLE to change my iCloud account name for a new one.
This is a shame. My "[email protected]" name was meant for the entire family in the times of MobileMe. Now this "[email protected]" doesn't mean anything since iCloud accounts are INDIVIDUAL accounts.
Apple are therefore harming their long-time, faithfull customers while somebody who was not a former MobileMe customer can change his/her iCloud account's name very easily. This doesn't make sense, I think.
    Hope that's clear.

  • ATTENTION!! RECEIVED FRAUDULENT EMAIL PRETENDING TO BE APPLE!! I received an email informing of a purchase made on my account and telling me to change my password if did not purchase the item, which I had not. I have received valid emails from Apple

ATTENTION!! RECEIVED FRAUDULENT EMAIL PRETENDING TO BE APPLE!! I received an email informing of a purchase made on my account and telling me to change my password if did not purchase the item, which I had not. I have received valid emails from Apple in the past asking letting me know a purchase had been made and asking if I had made the purchase, but the item listed has alway been a purchase that I had made. Since I had received similar emails in the past, I didn't think anything of it. Because I had not purchased the item listed, I immediately clicked on the link in order to change my password, which has been suggested in authentic emails i had received from Apple in the past. The site I was redirected to was exactly the same as the Apple site where you go to change your password. I entered my userID and password and it stated a verification email would be sent, if it was not sent click "resend email." When I did not receive an email, after about 10 seconds I went to the Apple site and followed the SAME EXACT step on pages that were IDENTICAL to the FRAUDULENT website I apparently had just been at. When I clicked "Send verification email," I DID receive an email within seconds, which had a special link that brought me to a page where I could change my password, which I did. I later compared a legitimate email to the FRAUDULENT email and I DID FIND A DIFFERENCE, BUT IT WAS ALMOST UNNOTICEABLE unless you were really, really looking.  I doubt it would be noticed by anyone if not comparing it closely to a real email. THE DIFFERENCE WAS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE AUTHENTIC EMAIL, THERE WERE THREE LINKS THAT COULD BE SELECTED - My Apple ID/Support/Privacy Policy. ON THE FRAUDULENT EMAIL THESE LINKS WERE NOT PRESENT!!! Just today I received an email from Apple stating my password had been changed today. I did not change my password today. When I changed after getting the fake email, I did not think about my SECURITY QUESTIONS!!! If you forget your Apple password, you are able to answer the security questions in place of your ID and you get a confirmation email. Even though I changed my password within a one minute when I did not get a confirmation email with a link to change my password right away and I went dierctly to Apple's site, apparently it was enough time to take all the information on my account - INCLUDING MY DEBIT CARD NUMBER, WHICH HAD BEEN REQUIRED WHEN I INITIALLY SET UP THE ACCOUNT!!! Today I received a call from VISA FRAUD PROTECTION asking about strange activity on my account and stating they were concerned and wanted to ensure I had used the account. I HAD NOT, AND ALL THE MONEY IN MY BANK ACCOUNT HAD BEEN STOLEN!!!!! I am writing this in hopes that many people will see it and NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS SCAM. Please pay close attention to any emails you supposedly receive from Apple - If the links "MY APPLE ID/SUPPORT/PRIVACY POLICY," PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME IT IS AN AUTHENTIC EMAIL FROM APPLE. I suggest you immediately forward the email to apple, which I didn't do because this happened days ago. Nothing was taken from my money that was already on the Apple account, and nothing had been taken from my checking account. I guess I assumed there had been something wrong with the link in the email directing me to where I could change my password, plus I had gone to the valid Apple website and changed my password for real, and I guess I was thinking that changing my password would prevent someone from being able to acces my account info. PLEASE DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS SCAM AS I DID!!!!

No need for alarm. There are several folks a day posting like threads. Most folks know these phishing attempts for what they are and merely delete with prejudice.
To the bottom line... if you wish - and I am sure Apple will take notice - you should FORWARD the email to [email protected] and delete.

  • I recieved a scam email from apple. then sent me the same email using my own email account. how do I report this to apple. can't find any contact details.

hi over the past month have received maybe 5 scam emails from apple.
I opened one the other day cause I thought well maybe it is from apple.
went through the steps and it was  amazed at how well they did at copying apple website. you could even go to the apple shop page from their page!
what set me off that it was fake was that I tried to open the other apple pages along the top and it wouldn't let me. so I opened my own apple page and logged in. and realised that they don't ask for your bank details in your Apple ID account.
anyways so now what has happened is I got an email today " from myself" with this same scam email. it is as if they have hacked my email account and sending me these emails. I want to report this to apple but am unable to find any contact details apart from call back options. does any one have any advice on this.

I've had that same exact issue, I received the first e-mail claiming to be from Apple last night (though over the past week I've received two other scam e-mails from different addresses claiming that my bank transactions have been aborted). It said it was from my own address, and I checked it closely to make sure it wasn't a spoof account but found it was indeed my own e-mail address. Five minutes ago I changed my password, and I have just now received a second e-mail exactly the same, still coming from my own account. My best guess at an explanation is that it may have been sent before I changed my password and there was just a delay in the message sending, resulting in it coming through after changing my password.
I've now forwarded the e-mail on as an attachment to the [email protected] address, however this still doesn't help me with regards to stopping these e-mails. It concerns me that even though I changed my password they still possibly have access to my account. I tried checking my account activity but as opening the mail app on my iPhone is considered as a log in and I check it almost twice an hour, it's impossible to tell which could possible be an intruder logging in.

  • HT5312 I keep getting an email from Apple telling me that my Apple Id has been successfully reset when I did not reset them.  Started early June 2013 and in a month i have had to reset it three times. Apple support was not helpful.  Any suggestions?

I keep getting an email from Apple telling me that my Apple Id has been successfully reset.  I did not reset it.  Since early June 2013 to now i have had to reset it 3 times.  It is not an easy one to remember either. Initally I thought it was some pfishing expedition but no purchases have been confirmed by my visa.  My kids use my Apple Id to download APs and I am informed when this happens.  Nothing strange happening on the financial site at all. Just frustrating as we have to keep updating the ID to use messenger, I cloud etc on all of the devices.  I called Apple Support and the girl initally said she knew nothing about this but then spoke to someone else and they are aware of this ongoing problem and are working on it.  Any suggestions? Are others having the same problems?

If the system didn't ship with Mountain Lion originally and you didn't purchase Mountain Lion yourself, then you will need to purchase. A purchase by the system's original owner cannot be transferred to you.
Unless you have another system on which you have purchased Mountain Lion, you will need to first install Mac OS X 10.6.8 on the iMac, for which you'll need either the original installation disks, if the iMac came with 10.6, or a retail copy of 10.6. Install 10.6 and upgrade to at least 10.6.6, and then you can buy Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store, presuming of course that the imac can support Mountain Lion. See:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade/
