Email full

When I delete an email on my phone it is remains on the server and I keep getting msgs that my email is full.  What do I need to do?

    Hi Orchlee,
That's not good! I know unknown error messages can definitely be cause for alarm. I want to help. It sounds like your settings for the email account require a copy of the message to be left on the server. Please remove this feature from your email client, this will allow the message to be deleted from the server when you delete them from the phone http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3228. You can also check in the email client settings to see if there is a way to increase your mailbox size. This would get rid of the mailbox is full error message that you are receiving.  Have a great day!
Thanks,

How can I find out this person who has been emailing me every few months. I have one of the emails full header that I retrieved on my iPhone. I omitted my email address for privacy, but mostly it is original. Is this email a scam? I don't know who this person is. Thanks in advance!

If you don't know the sender, then it is most likely a scam or spam email. I get them every day - I just delete them. I also get daily notices from Facebook or someone called Adriana at Facebook even though i do not have an account there. Can't do anything about it - just delete it.

  • My email full name is incorrect. How do i edit?

I have 2 iCloud accounts. On my email preferences both accounts show my name as the Full Name. Since one account is for my wife's use I would like to edit it so that my wife appears as the originator on her emails. Cannot do so on email preferences.

Open Safari and go to iCloud.com
Sign in and go to the Mail section. In the lower left corner you'll see a little gear like icon. Click on it and then select Preferences. When the new window pops up in the middle of the screen, click on Accounts and edit the "Full Name" section. Click Save (if there is such a button) then Done. It takes a few minutes until the Mail app sees the changes. It may require a restart, I don't remember when mine took the change. But it didn't take the change that very minute.

  • Emails full o' code

One of my clients is complaining that the emails I send to him are full of code. He sent me a pdf example and they look completely jacked up! My message is buried in a bunch of garbled code mess.
I'm using Mac Mail and sending emails from mac.com and earthlink accounts with the same result.
    Any ideas??

Thanks for your info sent by email. As far as I can see your outgoings are normal, but the recipient mail program is reading UTF-8 encoded text as if it were Latin-1. The possible fixes for that are described in this note:
    http://homepage.mac.com/thgewecke/woutlook.html

  • Email full-res photo from E90

I apologize if this is such a simple question that I should have found the answer somewhere else, but I Googled and looked through the E90 user guide and can't find out...
I'm considering buying an E90 but one thing I need to be able to do is send emails from it with full-res photos taken with the phone (and video too if I could). Is that possible? Surely it should be possible, but as I said I can't find out whether it is or not. The connection I would usually use would be wifi but once in a while 3G.

A few things to consider -
Camera settings can be set to produce pictures of various sizes, smallest is best suited to sending via MMS.
Any picture can then be sent by email
Cost of the transmission is determined by whichever route you use, be it 3g, 2g, or wifi

  • Email virus

I have an iMac and an iPad.
I have just recently started to get vast number of emails landing in my inbox.
They are all delivery failures (boouncing back to me as if I have sent an email out and its come back undelivered)
There are literally hundreds of them every day.  I'm assuming something has infected my machine and is sending out emails from my system.
When I look at one of the delivery failures it looks like my email account has sent a large email full of spurious text characters and totally meaningless. It also looks like the emails are being sent to random email address which clearly don't exist, as they are all bouncing back, so it clearly isn't targetting my address book.
Has anyone else had this?  And if so what is the fix?
I have McAfee All Access Antivirus loaded onto my iMac.
    Thank you.
    Andy McDonnell

This is not due to malware. There is no known malware currently able to infect the system listed in your profile, and no known Mac malware behaves this way anyway.
Most likely, either someone is spoofing your e-mail address, as Linc has said, or someone has hacked your e-mail account remotely (in which case you will need to take action immediately). For more information, see:
Someone is sending messages from my e-mail address!

  • Easier way to get an email server running?

This is probably going to sound noobish and ranty, and I apologize in advance for that, but I really am looking for an answer. Google has not been very helpful so far.
I currently have a VPS which I use for misc stuff, including hosting some websites. I would like to get email working, so that I can send/receive email on my website domains (via gmail or clients, not webmail).
I have read through several forum posts and various articles regarding email servers using postfix, dovecot, mysql, etc. Most tutorials on getting an email server setup contain walls of configuration settings that you need to make. They use separate programs for sending email, receiving email, full-blown databases for user accounts... It feels severely over-engineered, and I feel like my head is going to explode while trying to understand what the heck is going on.
Is there really no easier way to do this? People in forums talk about postfix being the best and easiest there is, but a wall of configuration text that doesn't make sense doesn't seem easy to me. Yeah I could probably copy/paste that text into my configuration files, and yeah it'd probably work, but I wouldn't understand how or why it worked, and I wouldn't be able to make future changes.
I would think that there would be a single package out there, a single program, that you could handle everything email (at least as far as sending/receiving email via IMAP). Kind of like how you have a web server like Apache or Nginx, where it's a single program that works out of the box, and can be configured further afterwards. Why does email have to be so difficult? I can only assume that things are setup this way in order to cover every possible configuration of email services that anyone could possibly want on any scale. But I just want a simple email server, on a single server, with just a few common options. Are there any alternatives, or is postfix+dovecot+mysql+spamd+opendkim really the only real option on linux right now?
(And before anyone says to develop something myself... yeah, it's tempting... but why spend time reinventing the wheel if it's already out there, right?)

A "web server" is rarely just Apache (or nginx, lighttpd etc) on it's own. There's often additional tools such as PHP, MySQL etc as well.
A "mail server" is the same; an encompassing term for a collection of tools that each handle different aspects. Postfix and Dovecot is all you need for what you've described; Postfix handles mail delivery (inbound mail to your users, and outbound mail from your users) while Dovecot handles presenting the received mail to your users. IMHO, it follows the Unix philosophy very well; one tool, one job. (All working together).
Postfix might seem daunting, but it is actually very well documented, inside the configuration file itself (main.cf) and on the website. This page may be a good place to start: http://www.postfix.org/STANDARD_CONFIGU … EADME.html
I'd suggest get Postfix working delivering inbound and outbound mail, then you can add Dovecot (or IMAP daemon of your choice) once that's up and running.

  • Wrong email address in Lens Creator to submit profile within the program

    Dear Eric and others,
I have discovered the error in why people cannot submit the profiles from within the Lens Creator Profile application. The wrong email address is specified, which is "lcpfiles", and that is all, no further adobe part to it.
As Simon pointed out, use an email program to send these to [email protected]  I have sent two profiles today using email full "Outlook" program, and attached the file to the email, using the full email stated by Simon.
I believe that the link & email address within the Lens Creator tool for email submission of profiles, needs mofication in your final version, thanks.
    Regards,
    Debra Gillilan

    Thanks Simon, glad to help.
A product always has a greater possibility to turn out to be a success when everyone on the product's team pitches in and strives for success, even in small ways. You all are doing a great job with implementing and explaining the lens profile tool.
I'll have other profiles to submit, the next one coming from my Nikon D2X body for the Nikon 12-24mm f4 AFS ED DX Lens, I"ve shot my images, I just need to process the images within the application.  I would rather develop my own profiles for my own specific copies of lenses, to be quite honest, whenever possible.
I think the lens profiling tool is an asset to the Photoshop package and I am glad to see Adobe fully implementing this tool.  I am very glad that I purchased the full Photoshop software package a few years ago - it is a true and very worthwhile investment for a photographer, in so many ways.
    Kind regards,
    Debra Gillilan

  • NTLworld email accounts wont work on iPhone 5

Have just upgraded from iPhone 4.  Everything restored from backup perfectly apart from my email accounts.
Have searched the forums already and tried changing to virginmedia pop and imap addresses: have activated imap on my account on Virgin site; also tried setting up mail via Microsoft Exchange per another forum suggestion.
Nothing seems to work.  I had thought about just calling it a day with regards the mail side of things but it is a fundamental part of the iOS system and the iPhones abilities.
    Can anybody suggest anything else?

  • OpenAL doesn't work... BF2 O NO O NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think my openAL software stuff doesn't work... I can't set X-fi on?Battlefield 2?and when I try to use sound on Eternal Lands, which contains openAL.dll, the game freezes. I have to set the BF2 sound settings to "high" to get the 3-d sound on, but it cause small freezes in sudden sound bursts like the repeated ticks of gunfire or the repeated zt of a helecopter blade, or a lot of people moving or a lot of grass making grass noise, etc, etc, etc. Also, when I try to use the "test" feature of CMSS-3d in gaming mode, the console freezes and the task manager shows it's using up one of my cores.
Angry consumer part>>>I contacted CRE-A-TIVE for SUPPORT AND THEY SENT ME A EMAIL FULL OF USELESS ARTICLES!!! THE RETURN ADRESS WAS INVAILD for ((SOME))) REASON!!!!<<<End of angry consumer part
. I got the new drivers, but they did the same thing. This all started when I took it in to frys electro and had my Motherboard changed for a Nforce 680i to a Asus P5K-E/Wi-fi. Maybe they damaged the card?
Conclusion>>> Anyone else have this problem? Thanks for any help.

My MAC still can't get mail out.
I did that (started to set up the MAIL Account) and it couldn't find the
outgoing mal server again. I called my ISP to make sure their server was
working. All is well there. They said it could be that some of the MAC
wireless settings had changed so we gave it the acid test of reality by
hardwiring the MAC (plugged it into) to the wireless network router.
I did that (plugged it in) and the MAC proceeded to complete the setting up of the MAIL
account. All of the inbox stuff is there but not the sentbox stuff. I now
have an "ON MY MAC item under my mail boxes that I never noticed before. If
we ever get this problem with getting mail out on the MAC will I ever be
able to get the outbox contents back?
At this point I thought all was well. I tried to reply to you on the MAC and
it still couldn't "find the server". Remember now it is still hardwired.
The ISP suggested changing the server to smtp.sentex.net. The MAC still did
    not find the out server.
It shouldn't be a "wireless" issue or a "server spec issue" because this
ACER is right beside the MAC about 15 feet away from the wireless router and
is using the same outgoing server. And SAFARI is working as further proof of signal\connection.
Also the SEND icon in creating an email mode doesn't work now either, so I now can't even test the set up by attempting to sending an email.
    Any suggestions?
WIN XP is starting to look pretty good compared to this O/S
Thanks for your patience. I wish I still had mine!

  • "This file attachment is too large to be viewed." What?

I created a 15.6MB m4v for iPhone using compressor to test being able to email clips to a client for review on his iphone. A couple of strange things. First, when the message is received, the attachment now reads that it is 20.6MB in size. Second, when I attempt to open it on my iPhone... it gives me the message "This file attachment is too large to be viewed."
Is there a limitation with the iPhone here that I didn't know about?

Yes this is a public board, which shouldn't exclude common courtesy.
This is a user to user help forum only and fellow users that post answers to questions or provide suggestions here volunteer their time to do so.
I don't have a problem with you providing what you think is a shortcoming, but there is nothing wrong with me providing a reasons or reasons why it isn't a shortcoming for the most part. If that is being "needlessly defensive", then you are needlessly interested only in thoughts that agree with your own.
What does that mean exactly? I wasn't suggesting they would, they usually use their own dedicated mail servers... which they can set to unlimited if they wish... which is why putting the limitation on the iphone pulls the rug out from under them if they want to use the iPhone AND send/receive large files via email. Pretty simple equation really.
What it means exactly is, you were talking about business use and you mentioned Gmail having a 20MB overall message size limit. Yes many businesses use their own dedicated server, which they can set to unlimited if they wish, but this will only work internally and with other businesses that do the same.
I'll bet you dollars to donuts the overwhelming majority of businesses with or without their own dedicated email server do not have an unlimited overall message size limit. Some may have a larger overall message size limit than 10MB, but 10MB is a very common limit.
So any way in which the iPhone can become more useful as a business device is a good thing... isn't it?
Certainly, but what you consider as being more useful may or many not match what I or someone else may consider as being more useful and there is nothing wrong with that.
Perhaps you will never need or otherwise enjoy landscape email, full screen attached video playback, or attachments greater than 10MB... but to not see the obvious improvement as a business device had these features been implemented in 2.0.2 just doesn't make any sense to me.
I have been discussing overall message size limits only. I haven't mentioned anything about these other items.
