Email: General Fail

Hello, my phone is having a strange problem. When I send email to one peron, it returns a general failure message. It's only this person, with both of their email addresses. Any ideas?

Hello, ive been having this problem all day and just found a solution. In your contact name do youhave any symbols ( i had a less than sign). Once i deleted this symbol mine worked perfectly. hope that helps

  • Retrying Email Service fails for the stalled Operations:

    Hi,
    Some of the send email operations randomly fails due to invalid recipients address or some connectivity issues with SMTP server. Once we do the corrections to the service, and retry those stalled operations, its erring out with Java Nullpointer exception.
    Stalled operations work fine for other operations except for email service. Is this a Engineering issue with the Adobe design or do we need to change any configuration settings to make that work?

      Thanks for the response. Yes, it works good for new operations. It fails with Null pointer exception if I retry the stalled ones after corrections.
    This was the initial error -
    Failed to connect to email server: adobemailer@xxxxx. Reason: Could not connect to SMTP host: xxxxx, port: 25, response: 421: com.adobe.idp.dsc.email.ConnectionFailedException: Failed to connect to email server: adobemailer@xxxxx. Reason: Could not connect to SMTP host: xxxxx, port: 25, response: 421
    We corrected the problems with SMTP server and when we retried this stalled operation, this is what we see -
    ( Email has an attachment, I 'm thinking adobe is not catching up the attachments when I retry it again)

  • Email reports failing

    I have several SSRS reports which run on a schedule, then get emailed to certain email addresses in Excel format.
    I just realised that these emails have failed since Sunday. I'm not aware of anything having changed but I do know the SQL server was restarted on Saturday afternoon.
    I just tried send a test mail and noticed the following in the email log:

    Does anybody know what the issue could be?

    Hi Paul,
    Based on the error message, it seems that the issue is caused by SMTP services. For example, the SMTP service rejects all connection, or connections from special IP/Port, or the credential sent to the SMTP is invalid.
    To narrow down this issue, we can use telnet to test SMTP communication. For more details, please see the following article:

    Besides, if the SMTP service requires authentication (not anonymous enabled), we should enable that the SSRS service is running under a valid domain account, and has correct email delivery settings:

  • TS3274 Get a message on emails "can't send or receive emails; server failed

    Before sending and after receiving an email I get a message "cannot receive email server failed" / I can hit "ok" and the email sends anyway; how can I fix this aggravating message?

    Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    There could be a couple causes for this and I will include a couple solutions.  Sometimes the account credentials need to be authenticated and can cause this message.  Try forcing all applications to close and power cycle the device.  Two step verification may be enabled causing this error, try checking if this feature is enabled, disable and test.  The last solutions I could recommend would be in the second article and third article below.

  • Email General Failure

    Hi.
    I have two personal email accounts feeding my Blackberry. One is a hotmail account and the other is gmail. They both worked fine up until yesterday, but then the hotmail one started to fail.
    Whenever I try to send an email with this account I get a red x and it says general failure. I can still recive messages, just not reply or send new messages to anyone with this account.
    My gmail account is still working completely normally. I have not made any changes to my phone except for an upgrade of the twitter app. Also I've tried taking out the battery and sim card out and rebooting.
    Any help would be appraciated.

    I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
    KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
    KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
    KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
    Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS conduits for the affected email accounts.
    Occam's Razor nearly always applies when troubleshooting technology issues!

  • SharePoint Designer workflow emails sometimes fail to send

    Hi. I have had no luck following this up with support so posting to this group for visibility in the SharePoint Online team :)
    I have built a SharePoint Designer workflow that sends a notification email when a new item is created on a list. Generally this works fine, but about 20% of the time I find that the email fails to send. I get this error message reported by the workflow:
    The e-mail message cannot be sent. Make sure the outgoing e-mail settings for the server are configured correctly.
    After some research I thought this was due to me using a SharePoint Online Group in the To field: so I changed the To field to a hard coded email address... but I still got the same problem periodically.
    There is definitely something odd going on within the guts of SharePoint Online. Please can someone investigate this?

    Custom workflows are currently unsupported by Microsoft Online, however I am not sure why you are using a workflow to send a email notification when a new item is created as an alert can be setup to achieve this.

  • How to Send Emails for failed messages without using Alert

    Hi Experts,
    In our project, we need to trigger Emails for the failed messages in SXMB_MONI / Adapter Engine without using Alert Framewrok.
    Please let me know the below :
    1. Is this really possible to avoid Alert?
    2. If possible, then can we accomplish this by creating any PI Scenario? Please provide me some knowledge.
    3. Can we do it by writing any ABAP Code? If ABAP report can make it, then please provide me the code/ tables which will be needed. If any Blog/ Wiki is there, then please let me know the URLs.

    Hi Nabendu,
       If your customer asks for mails with specific text for message failure, tell that it is not possible. Because Message will go through several engines like Adapter Engine, Integration Engine, BPE. You can not generate mails for the message failures in all these areas with out standard alert mechanism. These are pure technical alerts which only PI people can understand, not business alerts.
    Example: assume your sender channel is unable to connect FTP Server, in this case you can not generate even though you will develop adapter module to generate alerts.
                            So for message validation only you can send mails not for message failures.

  • Most of the time when I export photos by email, it fails

    Most of the time, but not all, when exporting photos by email, it takes a long time then fails, how do I fix?

    You can stop that behavior by changing two settings within the browser. Go to Tools -> Options and click on the CONTENT button. Make sure that "Block pop-up windows" is checked. Then click on the ADVANCED button on the far right and add a check to "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload".
    That should stop most of them. If not all, then you could install AdBlock Plus add-on, since most of the redirects are ad generated. (Tools -> Add-ons -> Get Add-ons)

    Sadly, from "like", we can't really understand the error message you are receiving...exact and complete content of any errors presented are always better to help us understand rather than vague hints and such.
    In any event, I recommend this. With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT

    Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books (pre-BB10 devices only)
    KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
    If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
    KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
    With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
    See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

  • Email sending and email general problems

    I am using the latest iPhone software version but these problems have been an issue for a while.
    Firstly, I can only send an email whilst connected with my Wi Fi on. If I try and send without there is an error message saying '...the outgoing server "smtp.me.com" failed. My .mac account is set as my Primary server and I have an ISP account also. I have checked my Mail settings and some of the servers were not active so I have turned them all on and still can't send Mail, other than when connected with Wi Fi. How do you change the order of the email accounts on your iPhone do you have to do that in Mail o your computer then sync with iPhone?
    Secondly, when I receive Mail on my iPhone it comes in ok but if I read it by selecting it it then sometimes doesn't show up in Mail on my computer this has become very annoying because I then have to forward any Mail from my iPhone back to my MBP.
    My ISP email account is a POP account and my .mac is an IMAP

    Try rebuilding the mailbox.
    From the Mac Mail Menu Bar, click Mailbox / Rebuild.
    Takes a few minutes to run.
    If that doesn't help, go to Mail/Preferences. Make not of the preferences under each tab then Quit Mail and locate this file.
    ~/Library/Preferences. Move that .plist file to the Trash and restart your Mac.

  • Email program fails after installing DM

    I've tried several Desktop Manager versions however after installation Outlook and Windows email fail to initialize. Is there a way to run it from a disk? Any help would be appreciated.

  • CCMS alert emails for failed jobs

    Hello All
    What are the steps to set a ccms alert for failed jobs? Also is it possible to set ccms to warn us of long running jobs. I would like to set the sysem so that we get a email notification on any failed jobs or long running jobs.
    I appreciate any input or leads.

    You can get the alerts for failed jobs, Just maintain the realted setting in the ccms_onalert_email
    maintain the address and then assign this as auto reaction method in your ccms template for background jobs.
    Also i request to search SDN there are many threads related to auto reaction mails.

  • Email authentication fail

    We have 2 email sub-accounts to our VOL account.  We access these via separate instances of Eudora, as separate 'users' under Windows.  Per the latest VZ notification, I changed the email settings for both users, to 'pop.verizon.net', 'smtp.verizon.net', and (SSL) 'required, alt port'.  When I went to get email, I had to re-enter the password.  (I used the 'master account' password.)
    On one sub-account, this worked fine. 
    On the other, we get an "authentication failed" error.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.  In particular, can a sub-account have a different password than the root account?  (My records don't show that we did that, but things can be forgotten.)

    There is no relationship among passwords for either the primary account or any of the nine allowed subaccounts.  In many cases it is useful to have the same passwords, of course, but there is no requirement to do so.
