Email groups with Pre

Just picked up a the other day, love it but haven't been able to figure how to create email groups. I have a couple of groups set up on my gmail account that I need to be able to send mass emails to, but the groups where not downloaded when the Pre connected with gmail. Any help on creating groups or getting them from gmail? Thanks

The built-in email app does not work that way but you can find third-pary solutions in the App Catalog.

I have a Technote that shows how the information can be published from EBS to BAM. In addition you could create an end to end visibility across the products e.g. B2B - BPEL - EBS - Financials etc by raising the events to BAM .
There is no out of the box dashboards available today. However, i have a number of customers who are doing this use case by themselves or through some SI/Oracle consulting.

Newbie Help with Groupwise Email on Palm Pre

Hello anyone who can help me out. I've read some of the threads and it seems that I'm not the only one having this issue, but I just bought a Palm Pre and I work at a school district that uses Groupwise. I can get my emails on my Pre but I cannot send messages. Is anyone else having this issue and if so is there a solution? Any help would be great. =)

I don't know if I can get in on this forum or not but I have the same problem with connecting my Palm TX to Groupwise. Error code says "unable to connect to mail.......org Please verify your server name entry." I have nothing set in the "advanced section of the account set up. I am sorry if I am not following discussion board etiquette. This is an IMAP e-mail account.

Mail Groups with Multiple Contact Email Addresses

I cannot find a way to create a Group in Address Book where the contacts have more than one email address. In fact I have not been able to get emailing to groups with Mail to work at all. I always get prompted to select one of my other outgoing SMTP servers... none of them work, iCloud, Gmail, private domain. I don't understand why this is so difficult.
I have read online that Groups do not support contacts with multiple email addresses... Really? Say it isn't so!

I have an email group of people in my contacts (used for sending jokes) when I try to send an email using that group in my Yahoo mail, I pick the group through my contacts and it opens up the list with everyone listed and I have to pick each name to attach to my email. Is there anyway to grab all people in the group at once? Scott

I have a similar problem. I haven't been able to get a Qwest smtp server to send mail so I've been using the gmail smtp server. Now all my outgoing messages are shown as being sent from my gmail account. This happens even if I use the MobileMe smtp server.

Merge Email Address Only Group With Matching Names And Emails Group

Here's the situation:
I have a large list of conacts that are only email addresses and are in a group called Emails Only. I decided to upload the email address to LinkedIn and connect with the people that were in my email list to obtain their full name if they were on LinkedIn. Then, after I connected with a bunch of people, I exported my whole LinkedIn contacts back into my address book in a group I made called LinkedIn.
I then tried to merge my contacts. For some reason the LinkedIn group won't merge with the Email Only group. Shouldn't my address book realize there are multiple contacts with the same email address? Is it an issue that the Email Only list just has emails and no names?
Any help would be much appreciated!

The iPhone remembers information about previous contacts.
Complelely independently, you have a Contacts app with a contacts list. It sounds like your contacts list has 3 names on it. You need to add a few names.

Email groups and notification

With my old Mogul we had Good Messaging service to get our Exchange mail to the phone. With the Pre I don't need that (and that's a great feature!) But what I do miss is the ability to create an email "group", add email addresess to that group and assign a special tone when mail comes in from the group's members.
This is useful to have if I get email from primary customers or family. I don't need to be notified everytime an email comes in from eveyone but WOULD like to get a tone/vibration if a special email comes in from someone i've designated as important.
Can this be added to the Email program in the Pre?

Olga, this is not a default feature in iPhone. You need a 3rd party application. I have created a free one, Easy Group, for group texting and group emailing.

How can I move all my contacts into a single email group from all the other group?

I've got several email accounts, but my contacts are spread across them. Of course, when I access or search my contacts they do all get searched together, but I need to delete an account and this will result in me losing many contacts.
So before I do this, I want to consolidate all my contacts into my main personal email group account. But short of doing them one by one, I can't find a way and I have several thousand contacts at risk of being lost.
Can anyone advise me?

Go to your Contacts on your Mac - if more than one pick the most accurate; delete any contacts you don't want. Select all the contacts, and from the File menu choose 'Export...'>'Export vCard'. Save the resultant file safely: it will be your 'master' list.
Now delete all the contacts from whichever device has the most in it. Sync with iCloud. If necessary repeat with different Macs. The result should be that the deletions sync to iCloud and in the end you finish up with empty Contacts lists everywhere.
Now you can import your saved file to one of your Macs. Make sure you import it under 'iCloud' not 'On My Mac'. Then it should propagate iCloud and any other devices. Keep the saved file at least until you are satisfied that all is in order.

I just posted this fix to another thread and thought it might be useful to post to all of the threads I read trying to fix the problem. Here it is:
Having the same issue over here with Mavericks 10.9.1 on a new Macbook Pro/Retina. Just now found a workaround/fix/whatever:
- click on your group in the group pane of the address panel
- click anywhere in the name pane and select all (command + a)
- click the "To:" or "Cc:" or "Bcc:" tab right above the group pane at the top of the address panel window.
The names of all of the individuals in the group will appear as an expanded list in whatever field you clicked. It takes a second or two to happen.

Connecting my bellsouth email to the pre

I have spent countless hours with sprint and att with no luck. We can't get my bellsouth email on the pre have tried many different mail servers. The one bellsouth said to use is mail.bellsouth.net which doesn't work. Also tried pop.att.yahoo.com for incoming and smtp.att.yahoo.com for out going. Now sprint is telling me it just will not work, I do not believe this is the correct answer please help.

The first thing you need to do is migrate your bellsouth account to the new att.yahoo. Once that's done , you should be able to create the account by just entering your email address and password. If you have to enter the settings manually , ive posted them below...
Open your email client program.
Locate the email account settings for your particular client.
Change the POP server to pop.att.yahoo.com.
Change the SMTP server to smtp.att.yahoo.com.
Check the option labeled Use an encrypted connection (SSL).Change the SMTP port to 465.
Check the option labeled Use an encrypted connection (SSL).Change the POP3 port to 995.
Confirm the above settings before clicking OK.

Your question and description is not very clear to me, so hopefully something here will help:
1. Gmail is a service not an app or a place. So you need to access the service with an app - that can be iPhoto, Mail, Outlook or any other mail client, or even a Web Browser like Safari or Firefox.
So you can't "go to GMail" as you write, but instead you go to an application set up to use the GMail service.
2. iPhoto is not a mail client. It's a handy way to email pics to Grandma, but for what you're doing you need to use an app that supports all of the Gmail service. iPhoto doesn't. There is no way around that.
3. How to send to groups will vary depending on what app you use to access the GMail service. All of these apps can receive photos from iPhoto, either - as in the case of Mail and Outlook, via the Share function - or, in the case of all the rest - via a Media Browser.
For help sending to Groups using any of these other apps you need to ask omn their respective forums. But the workflow is quite simple:
Using Mail or Outlook set in the iPhoto Prefereneces:
1. Select the pic(s) you want to share.
2. Choose email from the Share function
3. Make your selections re size etc
4. The email opens up in Mail or Outlook
- from there you need to figure out how to use the email client.
Using any other app:
1. In the mail app create a new email
2. Click on the Attach button or link
3. Use the Media browser to select the pic(s) you want to send
4. Attach them
- from there you need to figure out how to use the email client.
