Email hacked bt not responding

I have had my email account hacked around six months ago and everyone in my account received suspect emails. I have sinced changed my password and security information. I had an anti virus scan and a trojan was discovered an removed. Now most of my emails are being read/opened before i see them and despite reporting this along with a number of suspicious phishing emails,  i have heard nothing. i telephoned three times to ask how i sort this problem and each time the assistant puts the phone down on me.
I am thinking of leaving BT if this issue is not addressed and resolved.
If anyone can help i would be most grateful.

Sorry to hear of the problems.
Make sure that you alter the password AND security answers again. Also, via webmail, check Mail/Mail options/pop & forwarding to see if anything is set.
Unfortunately, phishing emails are nothing to do with BT (or any ISP for that matter). Reporting them will hardly ever get a response, and frankly I would expect that nothing would be done - because the phish email will come from a botnet, and the link hosted on a hacked website. There are so many of these, that the abuse teams could not possibly deal with them all.
How are you accessing your emails ? Is it via multiple devices or just one ? If the former, then this could be the reason the emails are "read".
You also need to make sure that your computer is completely trojan free of course - again unfortunately that is the end user problem rather than the ISP.

    Close the mail app and reset your iPad.
    Closing apps in iOS 7 works like this. Drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Email Setup Icon not responding

    Its been very frustrating.
    The Internet Email Setup option in Setup of my bb torch 9800 is not responding. I have tried rebooting, wipeout, reinstall of OS, couple of times, but nothing works. And when i try exiting the setup, the phone freezes. I have read many of users facing similar problem, but seems like RIM is in NO mood to resolve this one so guess i can call my smartphone a DUMBphone instead or is there any resolution to this?

    This issue actually does have a resolution. Follow the link below and follow the workaroud at the bottom. This issue normally occurs when you have to do a wireless update of your email client through your carrier. You will have to get in touch with your carrier to find out their <brand> though. Also make sure that EmailClient has the E and M capitalized.

  • Apple Support Communities email notifications preferences not responding

    Last night I accidentally reset my email preferences to receive all posts to this discussion group.  I quickly changed it, but the emails have been flooding in ever since.  I've gone back to my profile email preferences several times now to remove ALL notifications and Saved my changes but the system is not responding.  What else can I do???  Yikes

    After posting this I found Ronda Wilson's June 16, 2011 response to Enver Masud stating that you must turn off email notifications in two places, the Actions box on upper right of each page, as well as the profile settings.  I thought I recalled changing the Actions preferences last night, but apparently that was the problem.  All is apparently resolved now.

  • Attach to email function does not respond when Outlook is open.

    We use Outlook 2010 and Adobe Reader 11.0.2. Our users export a report from our ERP system which converts it to PDF and opens in Adobe Reader. Our users then need to use the "Send file as email" function.
    If Outlook is open whilst doing this the envelope button simply greys out for a couple of minutes and then become available again. If Outlook is closed it opens a new Outlook email and attaches the file as expected.
    I've tested this on various PC's and various versions, down to 9.5, of Adobe Reader with the same result.
    If you first save the file the function works fine.

    You may just want to say Remove Email after X days. By not removing your email most carries restrict mailbox size and you will allow it to fill up and then stop newemails from arriving. so You may want to choose Remove emails after say 3 days this way you get it on the phone and on the PC. I run mine at 1 day but thats just me....

    When I updated my Nokia C3-00's firmware from version 4.60 to 7.20, the responsiveness of the Ovi apps (Facebook and Twitter) is much better compare before, BUT, when I am opening the Nokia Email app, is freezes into "Loading Mail" status for almost a minute... Any problems with my update?
    I properly connected this to my PC and it updated without any interruption... And some 3rd party apps is not working after updating to this version (I guess those few 3rd party apps doesnt know there is incremental update you provided for this model except Snaptu which is working now)

    hi. i also face the same thing on my nokia c3.Third party software not available and mail app not working.But unlike other replies i am going to give you a solution.
    Nokia new firmvare version i.e 7.2 currently block 3rd party software downloads.It only supports applications from ovi store.There is an installation process going on in ovi when we download an app which make it usable.so if you want to use a third party app all you hav to do is download it to pc then just copy that app to your memmory card or to phone memory which will work
    Next about the mail app.
    I am a user from india and using the connection idea.when i updated my phone software i also lost my email app.
    But yesterday when i requested for new internet setting i found in its items supported list, settings for nokia visual radio,nokia communities,nokia mail etc i set it as my configuration and used mail.At that time it was working.So you all want a propper internet settings containing settings for nokia mail to make mail app to work.Or you can configure it manually like you do on office outlook.

    MY email is not opening up at all now. Pleas help.

    Reboot the pad.  First, double tap the home button to see the task bar.  Touch any one of those icons until they jiggle, then close them off by touching the minus sign..   If there is an older instance of mail lurking there, that could be messing you up.
    The reboot by holding the home and sleep button until the apple logo appears.  Ignore the red slider.  Try mail again.

    Close out of the mail app, double tap the home button and completely close out of it.
    Then do a reset, no data loss.  Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
    Then check email again.

  • Verizon email server does not respond

    This evening (3/30/2013 7PM) none of my 3 MAC computers can access our verizon email accounts. I had reset to latest settings last week. Web mail works. Is there a system wide mail server problem?

    As of right now (8:12 pm CDT) mine is working again.
    Regarding the comment about what tech support said, it seems to me it is a very reasonable question back to you; if your email used to work and you haven't changed your definitions, and right now it doesn't work, what info do you need? Do you expect the rep to somehow magically fix the problem? It seems to me, if it isn't working then it isn't working, really simple, just go do something else for a while and try again later. Has worked for me.....

  • Email hacked, will not accept password

    My email was hacked a few days ago, and I cannot get my iPhone to accept new passwords for the old email addresses. I've gone into the email addresses themselves and reset their passwords multiple times, reset my iPhone mulitple times, deleted the accounts on my iPhone multiple times, even changed my Apple ID and password hoping that something would deter the problem. Alas, all of this hasn't helped. I keep trying to create new email accounts on my iPhone with the old email addresses and new passwords, but I keep recieving an error message saying that the password is incorrect, when I know for a fact that it IS correct, along with the email address. Is there a new virus out there that records keystrokes on an iPhone?? How can I get rid of this?? Any help is much appreciated. I need daily email to work and make a living.

    What did your email provider say when you contacted them?
    Chances are you have some kind of 2nd factor authentication set up on your account.

    Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!

    When I start up everything looks normal but when I choose an email to read, the loading green wheel comes out and takes a long time. If I try to press anything the (Not Responding) shows up on the tab above. When I wait for a minute or two, it works back without the green wheel but when I choose an email again, the Not Responding message comes out again. I"ve tried the compacting, safe mode , plug-in disabled. But still happens everytime.

    I think you will find the issue is your anti virus. But for a quick and dirty try simply compact your folders from the File menu (alt+F).
    That may help if there is space to be recovered and provide temporary relief..

I highlighted all of them and attempted to delete them. The spinning circle finally went away and all of them were gone. But when I tried to do anything else on Thunderbird with my regular email accounts (Comcast & Hotmail), I would get a spinning circle and Thunderbird is not responding. I had to use Ctrl Alt Del and then reopen. I tried compacting but this morning when I tried to write an email from one of my Comcast emails in Thunderbird, again I got the spinning circle and Thunderbird is not responding. In order to do anything, I have to close the program by hitting Crrl Alt Del and try again.
    My Trash Local folders says 8300.
    This morning, when I tried accessing Thunderbird at the bottom of the taskbar it said, "downloading....of 17,000 to All Mail. Had no clue what that meant. I let it continue until all were and thought my issue would be resolved. But no. :(
    Something obviously got corrupted in the program. What do I need to do to fix this?

  • After setting up email account the apple imap does not respond.

    Able to get on the internet with no problem but when I try to set up an email account no matter whether yahoo or gmail I get this message. "imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com is not responding. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the incoming mail server field. I have done this numerous times with no success.  I deleted all email accounts since they did not work and still have had no success.  The problem has to be with this ipad.  The model number is MB293LL, Serial # V50445YCZ39 VERSION: 3.2.2(7B500).  All pertinent information has been put in properly but the unit still is unable to send or receive any email.  I am wondering if I should reset the entire unit back to factory specs etc.  The form below this asked for an operating system and I put Vista in due to the fact that this system was given to me by someone that I know had Windows Vista on their home computer.  If I can change it I would. I just do not know how at present that is why I am coming to this community.  Thanks for any help.

    I am trying to set up a basic email account through the settings email,contacts etc button on the ipad.  When the list of servers comes up I pick yahoo and fill in the pertinent info as far as the correct email address and password. When I try to save it the ipad is the thing that comes up with this message "imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com" is not responding.  I have no idea where or how it comes up with this but that is what appears when I try to save the account information it request.  The info that JimHdk sent does not work either.  Thanks for any help.
