Email help for iPad 2 please

Hi all, whenever I send a message my email puts in my full name in capital letters as the sender. I have never used my full name for email and I certainly don't want it all in caps. I went to Apple ID to see if I could change it there, but my name is in lower case, so I am stymied...I don't know what else to try. It's gotten to the point that I won't send email on my iPad...I'll go to my desktop computer and that's sooo inconvenient...

Did you check the Email Settings under Settings->Mail,Contacts,Calendars? Check there first. Each email account created has a 'Name' field (unless it's an Exchange account).

Anyone find a good email app for ipad yet?

The provided email application for ipad is really bad for many things and I need one that doesnt take several actions to do what takes a single action on other systems (like my phone and my computer and my Audrey Ergo)
Problems:
- To use multiple accounts you need to go through like 5 taps to see email in each - this is the straw for me BTW
- Cant seem to find how to change the behavior on deletion. When 'delete' from the ipad i just want it to be "deleted from the ipad". Take NO action on the server.
- Email notification/'push'/check is non-deterministic and too infrequent. I want to have it done when I want it to have it done. Like "every 5 minutes". Not "sometime near the frequency of every 15 minutes - but we cant be certain"
- I want to have the frequency different for different accounts.
Any suggestions on an email application that rivals the competition in the basic functionality (those above at least)?

I also am looking for a better email client. I need the ability to use folders and have email go directly to these folders when checking email. Just sending all email to only one inbox folder is just to confusing. I like the ability to search for email but this feature only helps to a degree. An example would be... I like all my email from tennis friends on my team to go to a separate email folder. I can do this in Microsoft Outlook and this feature makes it a lot easier to view things. Right now the email client is like a physical filling cabnet that has only one folder. The email client does try to group related emails together that I don't think works very well. So far not all email from one person are being grouped together. Some are but not all so I don't know what criteria it is using to determine what is grouped together. To work better I would like every piece of email from the same person to be grouped together. But then again wouldn't it be easer to just have a separate folder for each person or group of people. The reason for this is at a glance there are so many emails in my inbox that I sometimes miss an email. Using folders would allow me to check and scan my inbox a lot easier when there are only maybe a dozen email to view.
Anyone else would like to see this feature?

Im going to go ahead and assume your talking to me?
    I ended up in this thread in search of a functional Exchange ready mail client capable of supporting multiple mail profiles. Since there are no free applications to accomplish this in the app stor, which I can find, I figured I'd leverage the 'community' for some direction before throwing good money after bad.
   As I assume Im not the only one to do this, I figured I'd help straighten these folks out on the lingo (as they werne't applying it properly) and the sassy 'sound like apple users' comment references the way ANTI-apple folks assume you people are less than adequite users.
   If I called an apple an orange, you would say I was wrong. If I did it repeatedly, after correction, you would assume Im incompetant.
   Seriously, its a stupid machine and will only do what you tell it. (true for all computers, apple or otherwise)
   So if I ask for a mail client, dont give me a provider. If I ask for a service, dont name a client.
    Your right, this post is old. And stilll doesnt have an answer. . .
    In response to MichelPM, I didnt call your baby ugly. The 'Bandwagoning' is cute though. My advice is sound, and helping you folks not to look so... well... stupid.
    Since you interceded though, how about a little help? What mail client do you use? Is it exchange Compatible, with active sync? Does it offer multi-profile support? And the clients want images in their signatures, and multi signature support. (I can do this with my android phone )

Personally I use either Garageband, Auria or Cubasis when I want to do some light work 'on the road....' on my iPad.. and what exactly I wish to achieve.

Due to a screen issue, I had my iPhone 5 replaced two days ago. I repeated deleted the mail account and kept adding it but this did not make any difference. When I attempted to setup the new phone with my Google (Gmail via exchange active sync) accounts I was receiving this same "Cannot Get Mail" error. From what I was able to gather, this problem should be affecting Gmail accounts set up via Exchange. When originally purchasing the phone I was assisted and directed to set up my Gmail account through Exchange because it had the ability to use "ActiveSync" and push not only mail and calendars, but all of my contacts as well. I found this article regarding the subject.

What it came down to was having to delete my Gmail via Exchange account and separate it into two different accounts, a regular gmail account for my mail and a CardDAV account for my contacts.
Here is what I did. Google is changing their system and for new registrars Exchange ActiveSync will not work so you will be unable to register your account via Exchange and have your mail, calenders, and contacts all pushed together. I find this change really annoying. If you are having problems accessing your contacts after deleting the mail account, like I was, here is the work around.
To circumvent this issue go to Setting > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Other > Add CardDAV Account: Under server ender google.com, then your email user name and password, then click next to verify the information.

Cox BUSINESS Email Setup for iPad

I have a *Cox Business* internet account (business accounts are *different from* residential accounts - different servers, etc) with a static ip address and I cannot send email from my iPad via wi-fi Airport network. (Wi-Fi only iPad, not 3G.)
There was a time when I had it working, but a simple one sentence email would take over 10 minutes to send. It was odd. Now it's not sending at all.
My incoming email is through my business email account (via GoDaddy) and it works well. No issues.
Currently, the outgoing settings on my iMac work great for my iMac, but don't seem to translate to the iPad. These iMac setting are:
*iMac Outgoing Email Settings:*
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smarthost.coxmail.com
Custom port: 25
Authentication: none
*iPad Outgoing settings* that previously worked (sort of):
Host name: smarthost.coxmail.com
User: blank
Pass: blank
Use SSL: Off
Authentication: MD5 Challenge-Response (it will NOT set to password - will not "stick" or save on exit)
Server Port: 587

I had actually written a message previously that I just deleted explaining that what you had written doesn't work. I've tried it several times and it made no difference.
Then, I did something that I have not attempted or noticed:
I reset the outgoing cox settings to match my iMac settings listed above (that previously would not work), BUT in the order of listed outgoing servers my mobileme outgoing server (which actually works for outgoing MobileMe emails; don't know why) was listed first in the Primary slot.
It was "On" and I turned it "off" leaving only my cox outgoing settings turned on and it is in the secondary/backup slot. I then sent a test email and it worked just fine.
So the answer is that the settings for ipad outgoing cox business email are the same as your mac/computer, but do not have your MobileMe outgoing server turned on and, for some reason, do not have the cox server set in the primary slot. For example, if I put the cox server in the primary slot then it doesn't work anymore. Weird.
If you do not have MobileMe then I'm not sure what to say, but I have tried these settings with cox being the only outgoing server in the primary slot and it did not work... For me.

apple.com is a valid email server for Apple.
Maybe so, but surely you know it is very easy to fake an email to make it look as though the email comes from an @apple.com email address?
More important is to look at where the survey link in the email takes the user to, and what personal information does it ask for.

Check the AT&T site for new info on email. Certain conditions apply depending on when the account was established.
Since you have other devices, you should really be using imap so all will stay synced.
Incoming server: imap.mail.yahoo.com port 993 SSL
Outgoing server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com port default. SSL
Another thing is to check Keychain. First use keychain first aid to verify that it is ok. Then find all passords for that account and delete them. There may be multiple passwords for it, so check for all. Go back into mail prefs and reinput the passwords for the account.

GarageBand for iPad: Please Help

Trying to send song to email, no problem in past, now it finishes exporting but nothing shows in my email? Also, now I can't import any songs I've previously exported to iTunes? Can anyone please help me out? Could it be a virus? At the same time the emails stopped showing up, my gmail account had been compromised....tried to export to a second email & still nothing.

Need help for ipad download stuck

I tried to download 3 games on Ipad and now they are all stuck ..."waiting". I have turned off the ipad, held down power and button...then restarted twice.
I can't delete them as they don't "jiggle" when the rest do ....I have searched for answers... Any help please?
One shows it is trying to download, but has not moved in 24 hours.

Launch iTunes on your computer and see if you have available downloads. After you open iTunes, click on the apps tab on the left side under the Library heading. You will see a window with all of the apps that you have purchased. If there is a number next to the word apps - say the number 2 - that means you have available downloads. Look in the bottom right corner of the iTunes window and there should be a message sating 2 downloads available. Click on that to get to the next window and you may be able to finish downloading the stuck apps in there.
Do this first and then worry about deleting the apps from the iPad. I want you to see if you can finish downloading them in iTunes on your computer - then sync - then delete.
This is step one.

You can't boot Windows natively except on internal drives.
You can use a VM and put the VM image (VHD) anywhere any drive you want.
You are way too low on disk space, seriously so. And no room - even Windows and Mac OS should be warning and balking already.
"emulator" is an old-school term, even true, running a Guest OS under Mac's as a virtual machine, shared resources (RAM, processor) is easier but not the same performance level as running natively.

The only thing you can see is if they've redeemed the gifts, and to do that you need to use iTunes on a computer. That status would appear in the Purchase History for the gift. See:

Aperture 3.x helper for iPad

Hello all,
I would like to integrate an iPad2 into my Aperture 3.x workflow, but could not find a solution quite yet – and was wondering whether some of you stumbled across a suitable app/solution.
Here is what I want to achieve:
• Import RAW photos to iPad from camera (connection Kit)
• Be able to sort images into Projects, Folders, Albums, whatever, Aperture Style
• Be able to star-rate images
• Be able to colour code images
• Be able to flag images
• Be able to keyword images, using the keyword list I have already established in Aperture.
• Export the sorted images as a new Library or directly into my existing Aperture library.
Essentially I am looking for an Aperture Assistant on iPad. All the apps I found so far are not quite there yet. The closest is pixelsync, but that lets me only import pics from Aperture. The reasons behind that make sense; however importing from Aperture defeats the purpose for me. Once the images are on my computer, I might as well do the sorting there.
Since the Pad is light, it is just a brilliant travel companion and would let me do this (painful) part of the photo editing job (or at least most of this job) before coming home from a trip.
To me, this is a requirement a real mobile companion must do. And, as sad as it is, as long as the iPad can’t do that, it is not for me.
I do not expect (nor would I want to) edit my images in any way on an ipad (and certainly not in an Apterture compatible style).
Any app recommendations would be highly appreciated.

Thank you!! I'm glad I'm not the only one who seems to be having this problem. You've just stated exactly the product I'm looking for (except I'm a jpeg only photographer, so RAW capability isn't on my list)! I don't want to edit on the iPad, just sort in a method that Aperture understands. If you find something that will do this, please post an update. The lack of this capability is actually my biggest stumbling block to purchasing an iPad! (No disrespect to the iPad...it's just that the main purpose I'd have with a lightweight device such as this is photo management/organization in the field.

Email help with IPad 3

My ipad is getting mail for me just fine but every time I get email it brings me tons of old stuff that I thought was deleted......I use "Mail" on my Imac and also don't know how to access all of my "mailboxes" that i have info in on Imac to make accessable on my Ipad

Unless you have an IMAP email account, you cannot access folders in the Mac mail app. Those are more than likely folders that you created in the Mail app that provide for local storage on your Mac only and they will not sync to your iPad if you have a POP email account.
Just because you delete email on the Mac, does not mean that it is deleted on the iPad if you do have a POP account. I have one POP account and messages that are two weeks old will download to my iPod Touch after I have deleted them in my Mac Mail app or on my iPad. I dont use the iPod all that often and when i open the mail app, all of my old messages will load. I have my mail settings on the iPad and Mac Mail to not delete from the server after I read them so that they will be accessible on all of my devices.
