  • How to format text inside text boxes?

    i'm sure there's a simple solution for this, but for the life of me, I can't find how to format the text (eg font type, size, colour, etc) inside a text box (one of the editing tools) in Acrobat 8 Standard.
    Is it just not possible, or is it just a case of extreme ignorance?
    Thanks for your help.

    You may need to mark the text first after opening the text touchup tool. Then use ctrl-E or right click for the properties.

  • How to -format text  in web dynpro?

    Hi all,
    I want to display text messages in web dynpro in different colors.
    and also to display some text in bold, some in italics etc
    How can i achieve that?
    Points assured for help?

    shobhendra,
    Direct support for rich-formatted text is not available in current release of WD Java (though it exists in NW04s WD ABAP).
    For workaround (HTML display) please refer my blog post:

  • How to format listbox items with dashes (no binding)?

    Hi all,
    I have a couple of listboxes that I fill with data just by assigning the lists (List<Int32> or List<String>) to  myListbox.ItemsSource. I think I need to convert Int32 to string first, then add dashes. The string list I can just add the
    dashes. I also need to get the original value (either Int32 or String) when I select an item in any listboxes from the selectionChanged event.
    I read about value converters but I'm not sure how to use them without data binding.
    Can someone point me in the right direction please?
    Thanks
    //---- List<Int32>
    List<Int32> woList = new List<Int32>();
    //assume woList=1234567, 3456789. I need to display it as 12345-67, 34567-89
    workOrderListbox.ItemsSource = woList;
    //---- List<String>
    List<String> pnList = new List<String>();
    //assume pnList=123456789AXC, SDF3456789FR. I need to display it as 12-3456789-AXC, SD-F345678-9FR
    partNumberListbox.ItemsSource = pnList;

    You could just define an ItemTemplate for the ListBox and then use a converter as usual:
    namespace WpfApplication61
    public class YourConverter : IValueConverter
    public object Convert(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture)
    //123456789AXC
    string s = value as string; //or string s = System.Convert.ToInt32(value).ToString();
    if (s.Length < 12)
    return s;
    return string.Format("{0}-{1}-{2}", s.Substring(0,2), s.Substring(2,7), s.Substring(9));
    public object ConvertBack(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, System.Globalization.CultureInfo culture)
    throw new NotImplementedException();
    <ListBox Name="partNumberListbox" xmlns:local="clr-namespace:WpfApplication61">
    <ListBox.Resources>
    <local:YourConverter x:Key="conv"/>
    </ListBox.Resources>
    <ListBox.ItemTemplate>
    <DataTemplate>
    <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=., Converter={StaticResource conv}}"/>
    </DataTemplate>
    </ListBox.ItemTemplate>
    </ListBox>
    public Window2()
    InitializeComponent();
    List<String> pnList = new List<String>();
    pnList.Add("123456789AXC");
    partNumberListbox.ItemsSource = pnList;
    The UI element in the visual ListBoxItem container (TextBlock) that gets created will always binds to some source property of the object in the ItemsSource.
    You can not apply a StringFormat on a string value and also using a converter is a more flexible way to customize the display of a source property.
    Hope that helps.

  • How to Format an Item

    On a OA page can i restrict the format of an item on UI.
    For example SSN should accept only XXX-XX-XXXX format.
    Please help.

    Sudhakar,
    That seems to be a paid URL. I could not check the suggestion you were giving.
    Anyway I am not aware of any OAFramework provided mechanism to validate against regular expressions. But I know in Java you can do it using Pattern Class (in java.util.regex). Please check if you can use this class to validate the pattern of SSN.

  • IPhoto sends emails in Rich format even if the default format is Plain Text

    Detailed Summary (wouldn't fit in the Topic Subject):
    iPhoto will always send emails in Rich Text format even if Mail application is set to send all emails in Plain Text format. In other words, emails initiated from iPhoto ignore the selected Message Format setting in the Mail application.
    Description:
    It is a better practice to email photos in the Plain Text format instead of Rich Text format so recipients using different email clients can easily download attached pictures as regular attached files.
    The workaround is to change the email format to Plain Text before sending it. This wouldn't be such a problem if you could make this a permanent setting however this is not possible. The Mail application has a specific setting for this but iPhoto simply ignores it. This is the issue I am raising here.
    How to reproduce the problem:
    1. Open the Mail application (Assuming you already have an email account configured)
    2. Go to Preferences, Composing tab
    3. Change Message Format to "Plain Text"
    4. Optional step to verify that the Plain Text is now the default format: Start a new email. Click on menu Format and you'll see "Make Rich Text" available, which means the current email is in fact in Text Format. Close this email.
    5. Open iPhoto
    6. Select one or more photos and click on the "Email" icon on the lower right hand side
    7. A details popup will open, click on "Compose Message"
    8. The Mail application will open as well as a New Email window with the Subject field filled out and the selected photos in the email body
    9. Click on the menu Format
    Expected: Th last option should be "Make Rich Text" indicating that the current email is in Plain Text format as determined by the Mail settings (steps 1-5 above)
    Actual: Last option is "Make Plain Text" which means the current email is fact in the Rich Text format which does not match the Mail application settings.
    Can we at least get an acknowledgement from Apple that this is a known issue? Also, is there a fix for this? It is not an acceptable solution to tell users to manually select Plain Text for every email. I am tired of asking people to resend emails that way. That is a workaround, not a solution.
    Test details:
    - Mail Version 4.4 (1082)
    - iPhoto Version 8.1.2 (424)
    - OSX Version 10.6.5

    iPhoto menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback to report a bug.
    Can we at least get an acknowledgement from Apple that this is a known issue?
    Need to ask Apple that one.

  • Nested Table: How to display formatted text in the form ?

    Hi,
    Scenario:
    I have a nested table, say TAB1, containing another table TAB2 which holds the formatted text.
    Sample data
    Entries in TAB1:
    Column1       Column2(TAB2)
    Text1         Data_from_tab2
    Text2         Data_from_tab2
    Text3         Data_from_tab2
    Requirement:
    The requirement is to display the data in TAB1 as it is maintained.
    Trials:
    I am aware of the fact that we can transfer the content of the nested table (in this scenario, TAB2) in another table(of type TLINE) defined as a global variable in the interface of the form. Then in the context area, we can define a 'TEXT' node and bind it to the table and choose the 'Dynamic text' for the 'text type' attribute and maintain the other atrributes.
    But this approach cannot solve the issue as it is a nested table.
    Kindly suggest how can I resolve this issue.
    Regards
    s@k

    Hi,
    if its like colum1, column2 (tab2).
    you can represent column2 as a nested table in the form. and put these tables structure intoa subform of type flowed.
    then you can have the required format.
    the same can also be acheived using nested subforms instead of tables.
    example of such scenario is PO & line items.
    po number1 , items 1
                          item 2
                          item 3
    po number2 , items 1
                          item 2
                          item 3
    hope this helps you.
    Cheers,
    Sai

    Obviously, as seen above, I'm doing something wrong or Live View does not do all the functions that Design View use to do.  I realize I can still access Design View in non-Fluid Grid Layout documents and that is my current work-around.  I copy from my Word file into Design View available in non-Fluid, then copy that code into my Fluid Grid Layout document, not real efficient use of my time.  And, even that work-around may not be available after the next upgrade.

    Hans thank you for your reply and attention to this matter.  Moreover, with your steeped expertise I do not, in any fashion, intend to be flippant or capricious.
    However, I do not believe the reply is on point since I'm not discussing the insertion of an HTML tag/element; but rather, the placing of complex formatted text into my various web pages.
    Design View and  2014.1 Live View seem to serve different functions.  That is, Design View, for us, serves as a highly sophisticated HTML5 code generator that allows us to properly display complex formatted text that originally is created as a Word docx file.  As I noted in my original post, the complex formatted text from the Word file is then pasted into Design View and thus properly renders on the web page.  I invite you to try this yourself.  Simply copy my properly formatted text in my original post (that can be found at "Using Design View the web page rendered this way:") to a Word file, and it will retain the complex formatting, then copy that Word file text to both Design View and  2014.1 Live View files.  Please apprise me of your results.
    Discussion has been had in at least two separate threads on the Design View disappearance in Fluid Grid.  In https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1597260 staff member Lalita wrote "It would be helpful for us if you list the issues you are seeing with fluid grid live view editing."  And in https://forums.adobe.com/message/6807088#6807088 staff member Subhadeep wrote "If you can list down the workflows you are trying while editing in Live View & the issues you are facing in doing so, it will help us understand what is amiss & suggest alternative workflows to do the same."  I believe I've pointed out issues when attempting to use Live View for functions or work flow that customarily had been done in Design View.
    Being a CC subscriber, if someone can provide me with a workflow using other additional Adobe products to get my complex formatted text from Word ultimately to my Dreamweaver web page, be it an image insert or whatever, I would take the suggestions.
    The difference in the coding of my example in my original post is as follows.
    Code when using Design View is:
    <p><strong>Research &amp; Analytics Director</strong><br>

    It is readily apparent that Design View is a much needed code generator in the Dreamweaver product.  Live View serves completely other, and needed, purposes.  Therefore, I still, after all the forum discussions, do not understand why Design View has been removed from Fluid Grid.
    Again Hans thank you for your reply.  But unless I'm missing something, citation to the links you provided does not solve my problem.  And that problem is this: If Design View is on its way out and thus will be completely removed from Dreamweaver at some point, then how do I provide my information (i.e. complex executive job descriptions) on my website?
    Apparently a vote is taking place https://forums.adobe.com/ideas/3922 on the issue of placing Design View back into Fluid Grid.  I do not understand why the need for two rather disjunctive functionalities are at the mercy of the democratic process.  These are matters of engineering principles not "town hall gatherings".

  • How to format body text using CL_DOCUMENT_CLS ?

    I am using classes CL_DOCUMENT_BCS and CL_BCS to send email with a PDF attachment.  The email has several lines of text in the body.  It functions properly.  The messages are appearing in MS Outlook.  The emails are type "PLAIN TEXT".
    The following code is used-
    document = cl_document_bcs=>create_document(
                    i_type    = 'RAW'
                    i_text    = lt_text
                    i_subject = lv_subject ).
    LT_TEXT is define as TYPE BCSY_TEXT.  This is a table of lines that are 255 characters each.
    Each line in LT_TEXT is a new line in the email.  I want to format the body of the email, eliminating the forced "newlines", and allow it to wrap based on the recipient's window size.  Some lines should start a new paragraph.
    How can I control this?
    I tried using
    i_type = 'EXT'
    This sent an email of type "HTML".  This is better, but it sent the body text as another attachment.  The email had no text in the body.
    Ideas?
    Do I need to use the I_HEX parameter?

    Hi
    Take a table as mentioned below.
    GT_OBJTXT LIKE SOLISTI1
           OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE,      " Mail Text options
    and populate the data that you want to print as body in this table line by line.
    Formating/allignment only can be done while populating the table.  U have to check the mail and keep adjusting the allignment.
    And after populating send the table to one table parameter in funciton module that is...
                CONTENTS_TXT               = LT_OBJTXT.
    This will populate the mail body.

  • How can I export formatted text from a string indicator?

    Does someone know how I can export formatted text (i.e., parts of the text have different formatting, such as color, fontsize, etc.) from a string indicator? Using copy/paste does not work, as it only exports unformatted plain text.

    Hello Sparti,
        Thank you for your suggestions, they are all very useful, and I plan to use the HTML feature under Report Generation to export the formatted text from Labview. However, I am still not sure how I can extract the formatted text from a *string indicator* and transfer it to one of those VIs, so that it can be exported to other applications. Let me give some more specific info on what I am trying to achieve:  I am monitoring the communication between two pieces of equipment. A string indicator shows all the data flow, with different colors for data coming from different instruments. I managed to do that by using a property node and playing with the selection and font color properties. Now, if you just wire the output of the string indicator, the formatting is gone and all you get is just plain black text (for instance, try to programmatically transfer the formatted text from one string indicator to a different string indicator and you will see that the formatting is not preserved). Even if you try the "brute force" method of manually selecting and copying the text in the indicator and pasting it to Word, LV does not export the formatting. But, if you paste *within*  LV (for example, paste it to a string constant in your diagram), then it works. To extract the formatted string from the indicator, I also tried to use a property node, but without success. I am trying to avoid duplicating part of my code to generate the same color-coding scheme on a report. It would be way easier to be able to transfer the formatted text from the string indicator. This is particularly annoying, because the information is there, stored in the data structure associated with the string indicator. But how can I put my hands on it? Any ideas?

  • How to store the rich formated text and screendumps in Oracle database

    Hi,
    I will create an FAQ management system. Users can log into the system, search and view the FAQ and answers. To be intractive, the users can also create new FAQ and add the comments on FAQ answers.
    The FAQ answers have rich formated text and the screendumps in the mid part of the answer. It should be presented in one page during user read/update the answers. How can I store the FAQ answer to Oracle database?
    Best regards,
    Ning

    I used blob to store pictures.
    The FAQ answer is the combination item of formated text and pictures. Can I use it to store?
    If I decided to use blob, how can I present the FAQ answers to the web. How can I edit the answer on the web?
    Thank you very much!
