On my 8220, one of my email icons changed from the envelope with the globe to the Yahoo messenger icon. Is there a way to change it back?
Thank you

  • Would like to change individual email icons

I'm looking to change my individual email icons - I have two Gmail accounts set up on my blackberry.  One is for school using the gmail platform, so both icons are the same with the little globe on the bottom of the message icon.
I would like to replace the image of the message icon with the school's logo for the second email account.  Is there a way to do this?
I have a verizon account for my tour.
Thanks in advance for your help!

No, it is not possible... but may I suggest that you place the two icons on different sides of the screen, like one on the left and one on the right, or even different rows, so that you know "right is school, left is personal", or something.

  • No longer receive emails, all email icons gone!

    Hi all, how are you?
I noticed 4 days ago that I stopped receiving emails from the 4 accounts I had set up on my Blackberry Torch 9800 (one official, 2 yahoo, 1 gmail). I could see the icons and send test emails but I wouldn't receive them on my phone. If I checked on a PC I would see the test email in my inbox, laughing at me. Here are the steps I've taken:
    1. A Google search of the problem said to resend service books, which I did from the phone. No change.
    2. Another Google search said to delete the CMIME and CICAL service books, re-add the emails and resend service books (from the phone). Now the email icons are all gone except the work one, even after re-adding all the addresses. The test emails I sent from the work email are sent, but I don't see them in either sent items or the inbox on a PC. In the setup screen, it says "Email accounts (1)" but when I open it, all 4 accounts I added are showing. I have also resent the service books for all the emails several times. Sometimes the message is "Successful", sometimes it says that it could not complete the request. I also noticed that the CICAL and CMIME service books did not come back for any of the accounts.
Of course all these steps are generously peppered with battery pulls.
My phone has also become sluggish and laggy, which it wasn't before.
Please can anyone help with this?

    Hey raufikat,
Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
If the service books are not updating successfully there may be an issue with your account/BlackBerry data services. I would suggest contacting your service provider for further investigation. If they are unable to resolve the issue request to have this issue escalated to BlackBerry Technical support for further trouble shooting.
Let us know if you have any question.
    Thanks.

  • How can I disable the Email icon in the tool bar from Windows regisrty?

Does anyone know what key and value in the registry enables\disables the email icon? Is it even a registry key? I know that it can be done manually via the UI. Can it be done using Adobe Customization Wizard 8? I have Adobe Acrobat Standard 8 and Reader 4 installed on a Citrix server and would like the default value for the email icon to be set to disabled or even hidden when users open a PDF file.

The values in this registry key change what tool bar options are enabled:
    \Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\8.0\AVGeneral\cToolbars\cFile\cInternalButtons

  • New email icon on top of screen helppp!!!!

Hey all.  I am having a problem getting the new email icon off of the top of my screen!  I have no new emails and have deleted any emails on the phone.  I have tried taking the battery out for a few minutes and then putting it back in, no change.  I've deleted the email accounts off of the phone and battery out, no change.  My friend who is more familiar with smart phones checked settings and everything is as it should be.  Anyone have any suggestions/solutions to offer?  Thanks bunches!!

Hey, sorry all.  I figured out what happened.  So scratch that post (can't figure out how/if I'm able to delete the post).

  • Email icon doesn't allow download

I had this problem with my iPhone too a few weeks ago. Pushing the email icon and won't download mail. On the iPhone I changed the synch duration to 3 days and it works (used to be 3 months and worked fine). Randomly fixed itself to allow 1 week synch. Plenty of space on hard drive.
    Now same issue with iPad.

On my iPhone I also reinstalled both iTunes and the os all to no avail

  • I cannot get yahoomail through the email icon on my iPad. I can get it on my iPhone and if I go through safari and then yahoo on my iPad. Gmail works fine

I cannot get yahoomail through the email icon on my iPad since this morning. Gmail works and yahoomail works on iphone and if I go through safari and yahoo, works ok on iPad. I changed password, deleted account and restarted account, turned iPad on and off and still no mail

My wife’s iPad was not downloading Yahoo mail, although her iPhone was. Both used IOS 8.2. We tried deleting the account several times and troubleshooting all of the other settings. The problem appears to have been that allowing the IOS to automatically create the account on the iPad resulted in the wrong settings for the incoming server. The following procedure, pieced together from two websites, fixed the problem for us. So far, so good.
    https://portal.smartertools.com/kb/a2659/configure-imap-for-iphone-or-ipad.aspx
    https://help.yahoo.com/kb/mobile-mail/imap-server-settings-sln4075.html
    On the iPhone, tap Settings.
    Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap your Yahoo account, then delete it.
    Tap Add Account.
    Tap Other.
    Tap Add Mail Account.
Complete the Name, Address (email address), Password and Description fields.
    Click Next.
    Ensure IMAP is selected.
Enter the following incoming mail server information:
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - Requires SSL
    Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
    Port: 993
    Requires SSL: Yes
    Hostname is mail.yahoo.com.
Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail.
Enter the following outgoing mail server information:
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - Requires SSL
    Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    Port: 465 or 587
    Requires SSL: Yes
    Requires authentication: Yes
Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail. It may have been entered for you.
    Tap Next.
The iPhone will establish an SSL connection to your IMAP and SMTP servers.
    That’s all!

  • Email notifications changed after switch to Gmail

After changing from an AOL address to a Gmail address, I don't get the same immediate receipt and sound that I used to get.  If I didn't go after my email, I would not know it was there and it seems like it doesn't check automatically.  I went through the Settings > Notifications method and could not find what would be different.
    Thanks for your help!

Still working on it.  Test emails arrive immediately, but you have to push the email icon on the start screen.  The notification sound is no longer automatic.

  • BESX Email icon help

    Hi all,
I do hope someone can help me. I have a Curve 8520 with OS 5.0.0.592. I am busy starting out with theme creation, but have hit a snag. My Curve 8520 is connected to Blackberry Enterprise Server Express for Exchange email, so my email icon is the default envelope with the briefcase, but no matter what theme I create, I cannot get that icon to customise!!!! In other words, I can change all other icons, but the email icon stays the default Blackberry white outline. Does anyone have ANY idea how I can get that icon customised? Any suggestions/help/tips would be immensely appreciated as it does look a bit odd with nice full color icons and then one default icon.
    Thanking you in anticipation,
    Mark de Wet.

  • Email Icon "be gone"?

    Hi All,
Anyone know how to remove a email icon after all emails have been read. I have this icon and even after I Reset the " Mark Prior opened" it still sits over the top. I have reset the phone in every one possible but it still there?
Anyone have a way to delete this icon.... Please.

Tips for clearing that unread message... try them in order.
If you have a rogue New Message icon on your Homescreen, or a negative count (-1), any one of these solutions could clear it, or reset it to zero:
    Try these options:
    * Open your main Messages folder and highlight today's date, click the menu key and select Mark Prior Opened.
    * Hard Reset the BlackBerry by holding ALT, CAP (right Shift key), and DEL (or with the BlackBerry powered ON, remove the battery and reinserting the battery)
    * View Messages > Saved Messages
    * View Messages > View Folders, check each folder (missed calls, SMS in and out boxes, MMS in and out boxes, Saved, browser, phone logs etc)
    * Scroll to top of message folder, over the date heading, click or press menu to MARK PRIOR OPEN
    * Change your theme and see if it persists, and change back to your desired theme. (Options > Theme > select.)
    * Connect to Desktop Manager > Backup/Restore > Advanced. On the right-hand pane is the list of data on your device. Scroll to the email messages database and highlight it, then below, select CLEAR. This will clear your device of all messages.
    * Wipe and reload your OS.

  • Email icon problem

I just purchased an ipad 2 and wanted to change the email icon on my ipad version 1 to link to a different email. I tried setting new email as default, but the email icon still attaches to my old account. Can anyone tell me how to change this?

The default email account is used (from the manual) :
This setting determines which of your accounts a message is sent from when you create a message from another iPad app—for example, by sending a photo from Photos or tapping the email address of a business in Maps. To send the message from a different account, tap the From field in the message and choose the account
All the active accounts that you've set up in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars will show in the Mail app - mine tends to open to the account in which I last looked at an email.

  • Mail Icon Change....

I have been having problems with receiving emails.  I deleted the account and created a new with the same info.  When I did this, the mail icon changed to an envelope with a "Y" on it.  Like it is a yahoo account or something.  This is a bellsouth.net (att.net) account, and not Yahoo.  Is this normal, did I do something wrong?

bellsouth is hosted by yahoo and technically is a yahoo email adress. The bb does give custom icons for yahoo email accouts. i got the yahoo 'Y' icon for my BB.

  • N97 email icon wont budge

i'm having no real troubles with my n97 which i got first thing this morning. Been playing with it pretty much constant, no real freezes and not had to turn it off or take out the battery at all, however there is one thing that is bugging the hell outta me.
I set up the email for my hotmail account (had the same on my n96 for the past wee while) and when all emails are read, the icon telling me i still have an email is still there on the screen, i click it, and expand where it says 'new e-mail' and still it wont budge?
anyone else have this probem, or indeed a solution?

Finally found the solution to this. (Well for Gmail atleast.)
The N97 defines your account settings automatically from the information you give it. However it sets certian parts of the incoming and outgoing connection settings incorrectly.(such as outgoing security and port number) Adjust your N97's settings to these to solve the issue:
Select 'Connection settings' > 'Incoming e-mail.'
Enter your address (including '@gmail.com' or '@your_domain.com') and password.
Select 'SSL/TLS' for your security (ports) and define your port as '993.'
    Select 'Back.'
    Select 'Outgoing e-mail.'
Enter your email address (including '@gmail.com' or '@your_domain.com') and password.
Select 'StartTLS' for your security (ports) and define your port as '587.'
Select 'Back' and change any other settings according to your preferences.
Send yourself a test email. When you open it, the new email icon should disappear.

  • Will we get a seperate email icon sometime?

Just wonder if we will get seperate email icons sometime in an update? I understand the hub but I really liked having email icon fro each account. I've tried to get use to swiping back to go from reading an email to checking a text and what have you but I don't like it all together like it is. Kept all my email icons and text icon on the main screen so just pushing one button took me to that screen and then pushing which ever email account or text icon and I was reading what I wanted. To me swiping back and then selecting the text is more steps. If your reading an email you have to swipe back to the email box and then again to get to the hub, then select the text box. For those that like the hub that is fine I would just like email icons back. Had 8 email accounts on the 9900 and they will stay there and I use wifi for it. Only keep one account on the Z10 so I can get those when I'm not near wifi.
Also for some the lack of it compressing data like it did might push some data plans. The lower data use was another selling point of the blackberry and they changed another good thing. I know they say it is faster because it doesn't have to compress the data but on my old BB I could carry  on a conversation with a friend while he was at work on his computer. We could email back and forth like text but now with how slow the Z10 does email it can take 15 mins to get his emails. Before somebody says anything when he is at work he can't text because of no signal at his desk so email is the only way

Friend doesn't use a blackberry so no BBM. Just don't see why we can't have email icons, those that don't want them can hide them.  Problem with the hub is I don't see it working very good with the Q. Seems like swiping will be allot harder with the keyboard. In fact it seems like the trackpad would be a good thing to have. Never used the touch screen on the 9900.
Understand this is just the way email is going to work on the new BB, just sad they did away with a great selling point of the BB. All my email was there within seconds no matter what the account was and it seems like that is something people want in a business devise. Now I understand they have changed the marketing idea and are going after what they think is the bigger market. This might pay off for them but it seems like they are going to lose a good sized group of the diehard users.  Not sure how it is going to work out for them but have talked with a couple of places that sell phones around here and nowbody has been selling very many Z10's

  • I get jpeg and video attachments that turn into an email icon when I try to download them, anyone else have a problem like this?

On my new iPad email I have an attachment download problem that started shortly after downloading the latest iOS system. When i receive an email with a picture or video file it has a dashed line around it. When I touch it to download it to view it the icon changes to a mail message icon hen the download completes. Then when I touch it again to open it a new mail message opens up with the attachment there to be sent to someone else.

    Thank you for replying cor-el.
You actually brought up a good point I forgot to mention.
I tried using forward slashes and other variations in the same manner, and they all didn't work in Firefox, but worked in Chrome and I.E.
    Taking the example:
    file:///\\svr-1\folder1\folder2\file.jpg
    I also tried:
    file://///svr-1\folder1\folder2\file.jpg
    file://///svr-1/folder1/folder2/file.jpg
    file://svr-1\folder1\folder2\file.jpg
    file://svr-1/folder1/folder2/file.jpg
These links didn't work embedded in an email or on a webpage. For the case of the webpage, when the mouse cursor is hovering over the links, the jump bar indicates the correct link, but when clicked, nothing happens. When the links are copied and pasted into the address bar, they work.
    Thanks again.
