EMAIL ICON DISAPPEARS CURVE 8530

Ok I love u guys. U have been of great help. No I have my email synch. With my curve 8530. At first my yahoo icon appeared on the message envelope and then disappeared a couple days later. I still get email but it seems like I don't get all of it and there is a delay in receiving my hotmail email. Could ANYONE PLEASE explain why my icon disappeared and why it seems to only give me some mail and not all and how I might be able to fix it??? I am very good with electronic devices and instructions. Your answers would be very GREATLY APPRECIATED. Again thank those of you that have helped me and will help me.

Hi
I'm still working through mine but hopefully I can assist you.
Log in to your BIS and ensure that all your email accounts are fully synced. Contacts is the key issue.
I have noticed that I do not get all emails even after sync-ing. I believe that this is because the sender is not saved as a contact on the email server. For many years I have used Outlook and have saved the contacts there rather than on the server and believe this is why I do not get all emails.
I have a lot of email accounts and am currently adding them to an Excel spreadsheet which I will eventually upload to the BB. If you only have Yahoo and Hotmail, it will be easier for you to add contacts on the server. So when you've finished sync-ing on BIS go into you Yahoo server and make sure that all the contacts you need and want are saved and then do the same on the Hotmail server.
As to the Yahoo icon, sometimes it's there and sometimes it isn't; it does not appear to affect the functionality.

  • HELP!!!! Can't Open Picture attachments on my email on BlackBerry Curve 8530

I am having many problems with my new blackberry curve 8530.  I just purchased this last week and can't seen to be able to view my pictures that my brother sends me from across the country of my brand new nephew. I NEED HELP!!  I called Bell Mobility and talked to them for 40 mins and I got no where.
    Can someone help me!!!!

Where are you clicking to view the image, like I asked.
At the bottom of the email, ON the attached file?
    Try that.
You might need your BlackBerry Attachment Service Books re-pushed to the device, although your not being able to SEND an image sorta makes me think that is not the issue.
    Anyways, do this:
On your BlackBerry device, go to:
    1. Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register.
    2. Resend your service books from your carrier BIS site:
    From your handheld device:   http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402
Go to the Personal Email Set Up icon and log in. Then under Help!, select Service Books, then select Send service Books.
Now, try retrieving a picture again.
    From your desktop PC:  http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
North American Carriers - scroll down to select your carrier
WorldWide Carriers - Find your carrier on the list
    3. With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot. This reboot, even if you have already done this, is often needed to install the service books.

  • Palm Pre Email icon disappears from the menu bar

Sometime today, the email icon from the menu bar magically disappeared and is now only visible when I tap the launcher and it appears at the very bottom of last page. I have no idea how or when this happened. Any ideas?
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

You might have accidently dragged it onto the app area. Just tap, hold and drag back onto the launcher

  • Email icon disappears

My email icon on my phone asha 303 disappears even if I restart my phone,it appear just for few seconds, after that its gone. Please help!!!!

What happens if you start without SIM and/or without memory card?

  • Uncaught error java nullpoint exception, email icons disappeared, application loader unable to back up data, desktop manager unable to connect

    Model:  Curve 8900
    Provider: At&t
    Platform: 4.2.0.108
I'm ready to throw this phone in the blender.... if I could only back up my data first. A couple of months ago the What's App application required an update. I updated it and ever since my phone has steadily had more and more issues. First, I kept getting this uncaught error message, shortly thereafter the 2 email accounts (both gmail) that I have linked to the account disappeared. The message icon shows that I have messages, but icons not there (I have tried the show all option). At one point the message icon started exponentially adding the number of messages until it got up to over 86,000. When I reboot the phone it goes back down and then steadily increases again... usually though it's more to 400 - 500 rather then tens of thousands. I have been trying to install updates and do a wipe of the BB so that I can start from scratch, unfortunately the application loader is unable to back up data. The desktop manager is unable to connect to the blackberry and indicates that an upgrade is required. I have tried doing the upgrade both directly from the phone and connected to the desktop manager, but nothing seems to work. If I try to upgrade the software directly from the BB, I get to the start download button and when I click, nothing happens. I have removed all applications except bberry app world and one game that I play, Pixelated Plus. Still nothing. Any ideas?

Do you want to save the messages?
If not (and I think they are the problem) open the Desktop Software > Device > Delete Data and click the "select Data" option. Select the Messages to remove. Complete the prompts and finish.
Then, return to backup the entire device, and see if that is possible to complete this time with no messages.
Now, once the back up is done and you have your data, you can disconnect the device.
Now, use BBSAK to wipe the device and subsequently load the new operating system.
**If you cannot complete the backup again above, you might have to do without it, OR you can use the Desktop Software to sync your Address book, calendar, memos and tasks to Outlook. OR, you can easily install and use BlackBerry Protect to backup your device over the air to RIM servers, then once wiped and the new OS reloaded, you can use Protect to restore the data back to the 8900. << This you should do regardless.
Good luck, post back here as you have questions.

  • Email Signature on Curve 8530 (Gmail)

I have the 8530 with my Gmail account. I have found various instructions on how to add a signature on my email but when I follow the instructions, there is no auto signature option in my email settings. Can someone help me out with this?

You have a personal BIS account or a corporate BES device?
    For a persona BIS account:
    1. Login to you BIS site for your carrier. Carrier BIS login sites are listed here:
    http://blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Where_can_I_log_into_my_BIS_account%3F
OR you can login from your BlackBerry at the "personal email setup" icon.
    2. Click on the "edit" next to the email account on which you wish to edit (or remove) the signature.
    3. Where it says "signature", delete all text if you want NO signature, or edit the display what you prefer rather than "Sent from my BlackBerry..."
    4. Click SAVE.
For a BES device, open your Messages folder > Options

  • Work Email Icon Disappeared

I am able to access my work email through my generic message icon, but up until this morning I had a separate icon that was specifically linked to my work account (when I rolled over the icon, my work email address would be the description for it).  It was much easier to view my work email through this icon because it updated along with what I did on my computer.  How do I restore this?
I talked to my IT guy and he didn't know what to do.  And I did a search on here - the only thing I could find that was similar was that someone lost there yahoo message icon and it was suggested to uninstall and reinstall.  I don't want to have to do that.
    help!

Hi, I have been trying to figure out how to separate my work e-mails from my personal e-mails for quite some time.  How did you get them separated?  I presently have three e-mail accounts linked to my Blackberry (1 work, 1 gmail, 1 yahoo).  I have three separate icons.  One has all the e-mail messages, one has only the gmail, and the other has only the yahoo ones.  How can I make one icon link only to my work e-mail?  Any assistance would be very much appreciated!
    Thanks!

  • BlackBerry 8330 BES email Icon missing

I originally setup my Blackberry with Internet Web mail to my work Exchange account.  It worked and I had a message icon and a email icon.  Email form work would not arrive instantly, but would arrive.
We then installed the BES Professional at work and set up the blackberry to connect via BES.  I then would get email messages in my email folder (icon) twice; once instantly (From BES), and later I would get the same message from the Internet side.  I then deleted the Internet email account to stop the duplication; however, the end result was that the email icon disappeared leaving only the message icon.
How do I get the BES email Icon reloaded?  I have resent the service books, and reregistered.  I also reestablished the internet account; however, the BES traffic does not appear instantly as it did at first.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

I found my answer on in the following Blackberry knowledge base article "See KB03151 for information about the role of service books in email account integrations with BlackBerry® Internet Service accounts. Because of the way service books function, there is no icon on the Home screen of your BlackBerry smartphone for individual email messages delivered by a BlackBerry Enterprise Server."

  • The email icon will not disappear even though I have no email....

Can anyone please help me!  On my BB Curve 8330, the email notification icon will not disappear.  I have no unread emails but it always has a 1and the new email icon showing?  Has this happened with anyone else or does anyone know how to fix it?

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Logman has suggested some great advice.
Here is a very thorough way to search for unopened messages.
From the main message queue do a search:
    service=ALL SERVICES
    folder: ALL FOLDERS
    show: ONLY UNREAD
    type=ALL
    Thanks,

  • HT5330 My email crashed and my ICloud icon disappeared from my system preferences and was reverted back to mobileme which of course no longer functions and I can't seem to fix it. Any ideas?

My email crashed and my ICloud icon disappeared by my system and reverted to mobile me which of course is no longer available. Any ideas on what to do?

You'll actually need to order a snow leopard DVD first.  Then you can download mountain lion via the app store.  Confirm you meet the requirements:  http://www.apple.com/osx/specs
If you dont, you might be able to get lion instead.  That's an order over the phone, to get a redemption code.
And make sure you're actually contacting apple:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
You'll also want to confirm your 3rd party apps are compatible before an OS upgrade.  Of course, you'll also want to backup your data.

  • Cannot view HTML emails on Curve 8530, but HTML option is selected in email settings.

    Hi,
I cannot view HTML emails on my Blackberry Curve 8530, but when I go to email options, HTML is selected. Why isn't it working?

    Hi
    Maybe the device needs resetting
The Blackberry is designed to be reset by removing the battery whilst the device is powered-on. Leave the battery out for a minute or 2.
See if that resolves the problem.

  • My trash can icon disappeared from my email screen. How do I get it back?

My trash can icon disappeared from my email screen. How do I get it back? The archive box replaced it on screen and now there is an arrow to go to it. It is annoying because I trash things way more than I archive them.

By the way, it's an ipod touch 32G 4th generation.
Thanks for any help I can get.

  • Curve 8530 not receiving emails from contacts

Hi, about a week ago, my Curve stopped receiving emails from people in my contacts list.  I will still get them from companies that I've placed orders with in the past, as well as a notification that someone replied to a post I made on here earlier this week, but anyone in my address book isn't getting through to the phone, but they're in the inbox on Yahoo!  I ran the diagnostic check that someone suggested, and the email address said "no" after it for connected.  I don't know how to fix this.  I've had the phone since May and never had an issue until now.  I've spent over an hour on the phone with Verizon trying to solve it and they couldn't figure it out.  I've deleted the account & added it back and I receive the email telling me it's registered, but no more.  Also, when I go into "Folder Reconciliation" nothing is checked off, and I don't know how to do it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated for me.  Thank you.

Had my Curve 8530 for more than a year issue-free with Verizon. Have an Outlook Web Access (OWA) and Hotmail email account registered. Last night, OWA messages was not being received and cannot be sent from the phone using the OWA account. However, the Hotmail account is working just fine, messages being sent and received. I have tried:
    1) Rebooting/Removed battery
    2) Updating password, username, and server URL under email accounts.
    3) Re-registered the phone to the network. After 20 minutes, no change.
    4) Resent service book for the account.
    5) Ran diagnostic of mobile network. All "Yes" except for "Connected to: [OWA account] : No"
1-5 is all the troubleshooting I've found for the Curve 8530 and nothing has helped. Please help!
I would suggest that you do ALL of the above again.
If your service is not restored, you really need to call Verizon tech support and ask for your issue to be escalated to RIM level tech support.

    PlayBook OS version?
    BBM version?
    bridge version?
please list so it can help others
I currently dont have the issue but am up to date on all the above.
To get BBMessenger on the PlayBook, you need 3 things:
Bridge update (1.0.0.83, I recomend 1.0.0.93 which is latest)
PlayBook OS 1.0.3 or higher (best to get the latest version of PlayBook OS.) current is 1.0.5.2342
BBM update (5.0.3.22) available on App World via your smartphone.
Links for Bridge if your carrier blocks it in app world.

I have Mac OS10.4.11 with MS Office 2004 for Mac, installed. Yesterday, when clicking on the Entourage icon, in the dock, to receive my Email, the icon disappeared and I lost my Email service from the HD and from Spotlight, as well. Word, Excel and PP are still OK. Could this be a virus?

Just thinking, if things are really missing...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Tiger Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
