Email Icon Notification - Home Screen - Option to remove automatic notification?

I have a need to remove the automatic email notification on the home screen.
Would love to know how to remove the option of automatically being notified for every new email but retain the ability to check my emails from the handset.
Thanks

You could always modify your Sounds profile to not play a tone and not flash the red LED when you receive a work email on the weekend so you would only see the email when you looked at your phone.
Just an idea

  • Howto remove apple icons from home screen

    Hello!
How do i remove all icons from home screen (include apples default icons), and just show the application icon for the program that should be used in our warehouse?

The icons of the homescreen reflect the top line of those located on your main menu.
So, you will need a different theme that has the features you desire.

  • How do I add actual email accounts to home screen-not just HUB?

How do I add actual email accounts to home screen-not just HUB? Can anyone give me the steps?

Essentially the Hub area is a home screen dedicated to your communication. Tap on the lower left icon and each of your messaging sections has its own dedicated 'icon.' As JC mentioned, it is new and it may take a while to get used to it.. but once you do it really is a great way to deal with the unified messaging idea and it also allows you to break down what you are looking at very quickly. Just need to learn a few new tricks.  I've been on the Z for just over 3 months now and I could never go back...

  • Get an Website Icon on Home Screen

A while ago I could create a website icon to appear on my HomeScreen, like an App. I've since upgraded my iPhones to iOS4. Is there a way to have Website icons to appear on the HomeScreen

When at a site and you say Add to Home screen via the button to add bookmark or add to home screen option, AND IF the site coded the page with the code needed to point to an icon for the iPhone (not favicon like browsers use) then it will use the icon.

  • Different icons on home screen for each email account?

    Good Morning,
I have searched and searched to no avail for an answer to this (simple) question:
Is there any way to have separate mail icons on your home screen for each of your mail accounts?
I have my work/exchange email (knee-jerk response required) and my spam-laden personal account set up on my phone. Everytime my phone "dings" I have to go digging for which account it is. It would be very nice to see right on the home screen which account had mail rather than having them grouped into one cumulative icon.
Note to developers: I'd be willing to pay for this.
    Thanks,
    Dominic

No such option is available, but a good suggestion for Apple where this must likely originate from.

  • Get rid of intrusive HUGE and UGLY dark bands behind HUGE icons on Home Screen

How do I get rid of the intrusive, huge and ugly dark bands behind the huge icons, and reduce the size of the icons on the Home Screen?
On my 8320 I can use pictures of my kids for wallpaper. On the 8900 they have wasted half of the beautiful screen with these huge ugly icons and dark bands - cuts right through two of my kids eyes and two of my kids mouths and below.
What were they thinking? They advertise the 8900 (and the 8520) by emphasizing a full screen picture - but when you actulally buy the phones, they have inserted these cursed screenscape hogs. Any firmware fixes yet? Or, now that Nokia has released their E71 that not only handles email as well as my BB, but also allows me to create and edit docx, should I abandon the 8900 as a lost cause and buy the E71? And, as long as we are discussing RIM's myopic short sightedness, why no 3G on this device?
Please hurry, my buyers remorse clock is ticking and I need to send this thing back to the carrier if it can't be fixed.
    Thanks in advance.

Hello, to change the size (I have six icons per row not five) go to options>advanced options>accessability and change the amount on the grid. Default 6x6, then 4x4 3x3 etc., you can also change the colours. Hope I`m not barking up the wrong tree but have bbn of help! Regards Kew

  • Email accounts on home screen

    Hello,
First of all thanks for any assistance.
I am attempting to setup 2 email accounts on a Blackberry Tour. The emails are setup properly and sending / receiving is working with no issues at all.
My question is related to the home screen. The following link is a screenshot of the phone's home screen.
    http://imgur.com/zMyjn.jpg
The first icon (left to right) shows all of my messages from both of my email accounts, let's call them accounts A and B. The second mail icon shows messages from ONLY Email Account B. How can I make it so the first icon only shows messages from account A and the second icon behaves as it does now, showing only messages from account B?
    Thanks for any help

By default, BES email is put only into the Messages icon/app. BIS emails are placed into their own icons, but they remain contained in the main Messages app. This is how it works by default. It is not redundant -- rather, think of Messages as the catch-all place, with the independent BIS icons being a filter, pulling (from Messages) to them only the messages that pertain to them...but if you act on an email (read, delete, etc.) in one, the change will be reflected in the other.
Your BES Admin can push a BES-only email icon to your device. This solution is free, but must be conducted at the BES server, and will affect all users on that BES server.
KB15003 How to create a separate icon on the BlackBerry smartphone for only BlackBerry Enterprise Server messages
Or you can get the Empower BES Inbox application. This solution costs (per user), but does not require a change at the server, and only affects the one user.
    http://www.getempower.com/Empower_BES_MailBox.php
Or, if your device OS has the option, you can dictate what shows in Messages:
Homescreen > Messages > > Options > (Main Message List Settings) or (Inbox Settings) > uncheck what you want to suppress in Messages
Neither of the first two solutions will do anything about Messages -- it will continue to contain everything that it today contains. All they will do is activate an additional icon on your homescreen that is a filter for your BES-only emails. You can hide or move the Messages icon/app somewhere out of the way, but beware -- there are more than just emails that arrive in Messages...there will come a day when you have a new message flag and only by digging through Messages will you be able to find that message.
Hopefully that helps explain how it all works!
    Good luck!

  • How do I delete icons in Home Screen?

    Hey guys,
My sister used my curve and when I got it back, I saw that there was a Myspace icon for the Myspace app on my home screen.  The app isn't downloaded yet, but I can't seem to delete the icon from my screen (I don't want it there).  For now I just have it hidden.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Go to options, advanced options, applications.
Let the table build and then check to see if you have an application for Myspace.
If you do highlight  the entry and menu key, delete.
Do a battery pull and this will delete the icon.
Some apps are pre set by your carrier. On my Curve I have facebook, part of the
Verizon setup. I can delete it, but whenever I get service books it is pushed to the
phone by the carrier and the icon returns. I have created a folder for these apps and
all others I do not use. By keeping the useless apps in a folder I reduce clutter and
    do not accidentally activate them.
    Thanks,
    Bifocals

  • Email Icons in main screen

Hey Hello I have an 8350i phone and I'd like to know how can I make the email icons in the main screen to show the AOL and Hotmail icons instead of the boring envelope icon?
    Thanks

Ok, so I understand what is happening
I use an IMAP account and monitor several subfolders but no emails get delivered to my inbox folder. Last night, I received an email hat did not get filed in any folders and remained in my inbox and guess what... I could see a notification of the email on my standby screen this morning.
So, the real question is... How can I get notified on emails in the subfolders and not only the one in the inbox??
    Thanks
    Ludo

  • Delete icons from home screen?

I've added a couple of safari pages to the home screen. How do I get rid of the home screen icons when I don't want them any more? Thanks,
    John F

You can only delete icons that you have added yourself, the Apple Apps are not removable.
To delete icon touch and hold your finger on any icon until all the icons start to wiggle on the screen.
The icons that can be deleted will have an X in the corner, touch the X to delete the icon.
You can also rearrange the icons by dragging them around while they are wiggling.
Once you are finished press the home button the lock them in position.

  • Unknown icon on home screen

My curve has a vertical red line (at the top of the home screen) with the number 79 next to it.  What does this mean?

Can you please check the Messages icon for unread notifications and see if it's there?

    1. On your homescreen, press the Menu key > SHOW ALL, so that SHOW ALL is checked.
    2. Look in EACH folder on your device... Applications, Instant Messengers, Downloads, etc.
If you still don't see it, look at Options > Advanced > Applications. Do you see it listed there?

  • Can I permanently place all icons on screen 2 to have an icon less home screen

    Hello all,
I have moved my icons and folders to screen 2 to remove all icons from my home screen. However after a power cycle they all return to the home screen. Is there any way of permanently setting icons/folders to reside on a secondary screen?
    Thanks
    Mario

It's been awhile since I've messed around with this, but I don't think it's possible to have a blank screen in between screens that have icons or in front of a screen that has icons. In my experience, it removes the blank, iconless screen.
I checked the manual and it doesn't mention anything specific about this.
