See the <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/communityguidelines">Community Guidelines</a> for information about how you should ask a question (the section called Forum Rules of Engagement) to increase the likelihood of getting the best answers - that in turn will solve your problem sooner.
One guideline is as already mentioned by Martin that the level of urgency is not very relevant for the rest of us here. If anything you should quietly mention in the text what your deadline is. With all the exclamation marks you have used I assume it is now too late for you, but for the benefit of people who search the forum for a solution before posting a question I will still follow up the question.
Another guideline is that you must give sufficient information about your problem to increase the chance that someone recognizes, or becomes intrigued by, your problem.
Sorry, but I do not understand what your problem is. You are saying that the e-mail address is getting truncated. Which e-mail address? Which workflow?
Are you using WS20000075? That workflow does not take an e-mail address from the triggering event, or indeed in the container. It does send e-mail, but the workflow initiator is used as recipient, so no e-mail address there either. I therefore believe you must be using a different workflow, but I have no idea which one.
In general, if you are having truncation problems, you need to check the data flow (bindings and programs involved if any). Somewhere along the chain you have char(30) or equivalent data field that is used to hold the e-mail address.

  • How do I remove an email address from a workflow notification?

    Hi, I was wondering if you could help me please. Can you tell me how to remove an old email address from a workflow notification? The person's name and email address have already been removed from the list of Users in the Admin area, but some workflow notifications are still being sent to their email. Any ideas?
    Many thanks for your help.

    Thanks Liam, I'd previously looked at the also notify field and it didn't show any other email addresses. This time I clicked on the second of my two options in the Workflow Steps field, and then clicked back on the first one  again, and hey presto, two email addresses appeared! The offending email address has now been removed.
    Thanks again for your help. Cheers!

  • Email Notification from a Workflow

    Hi,
    I'm trying to send an email to specific email addresses using a Workflow and in the 'To' field I'm selecting 'Specific Email Address' and am entering a value like...
    "[email protected]" + ";" + [<FieldName>] (with box brackets [] around <FieldName>)
    ...however upon saving the Workflow, I get the error 'Valid email required'.
    I tried various combinations (including uisng various non-custom/custom fields) but to no avail. I even tried simply [<FieldName>](with box brackets [] around <FieldName>), but that did not work either.
    Evidently it works only when I take out the [<FieldName>] from the expression. Would you know anything about this? What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks!

    Hi IR,
    According to My Oracle Support (Doc ID 872917.1), "...you will also get this error message when entering a formula in the "specific email address" field. Currently it only works with one or two email addresses within single or double quotes. This has been logged as CR 12-1UFAJBV and will be fixed with patch 1080.0.01."
    I would recommend asking Customer Care to add you to the notification list for updates on CR 12-1UFAJBV if you wish to be advised when the status changes.

  • HTML button in the eMail notification sent by Workflow

    I have a workflow which send eMail notification to the users. I want to add 2 HTML buttons for approve and reject on this email notification.

    Hi Arghadip Kar,
    Im glad you liked my name. )
    Anyhoo, you are correct. A Task is used. I checked in SWI1 and the task associated with the mail is TS90000101. (not a ws) Does this help at all?
    In the Business Process, it is the part where the system informs a Training coordinator that a training request by an employee have been approved by his/her manager.
    Do I still check the FM below or are there any other way given the info above?

  • BOR Attribute empty during workflow trigger

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a problem in workflow where the IMAGE attribute of my zBUS2081 is not being read (or might be empty) during workflow trigger. This is the scenario:
    1. I delegated zbus2081 to BUS2081 and added attribute of type BOR - IMAGE.
    2. My workflow is being triggered when a LIV INvoice is parked.
    3. In my workflow, at the beginning I am transferring ZBUS2081.IMAGE to a wf container IMAGE_CONT (type BOR - IMAGE)
    4. My workflow triggers, then I check the log. It shows that IMAGE_CONT was assigned with ' ' value even it passed through the container operation step.
    5. What's weird, is when I retrigger the workflow, it is now able to assign the value of ZBUS2081.IMAGE to IMAGE_CONT.
    What could be the problem? I don't think there is a problem in my workflow. Seems that ZBUS2081.IMAGE has no value during trigger, but there is a valid data for IMAGE before the wf triggers.
    Thanks,
    Eo

    Hi Eo,
      I guess it may be because of the program logic inside business object Zbus2081 on attritube IMAGE.
      Can you open the program of attribute image and check whether you put the condition that maybe skip command swc_set_element container?
      In background, workflow will re-calculate attribute of the object. If swc_set_element container is missing, value will be blank.

  • IPad Email Client Truncates URLs

    I receive emails from a service, Dell Message One. The emails contain a URL to respond via the browser. The iPad email client truncates the URLs improperly, which prevents the iPad browser from going to the proper website and page. An example is below:
    Click this link: https://chiaf.messageone.com/af/getConfirmation.do?confirmation=ie32225yi42a748a 45o580969a3a6106e95a734ya95iyo754481oai3y842591ua5712060e64ay97o6eu2a4i5ie31530a i43o94194581iea89a303669
    The URL is truncated after the equal sign in the link. This behavior was corrected in the iPhone at version 4. I have updated my iPad to version 3.2.1 to no avail. Anyone have a solution?

    Since you said the phone iOS had it before version 4, I would expect the same problem on the iPad to be solved when iOS4 for the iPad is released this fall.

  • Different email sender for each workflow

    Hi all,
    The company i am working for already got some workflows and i am creating more for them. The problem is same users will be getting email from different workflows with almost similar subject text ( the option to have different subject text is being considered). We need to distinguish between the email sent from different workflows in order to help users identify the workflow. Is it possible to have different sender for different workflow send mail tasks
    HR-WF-PA for PA workflows.
    HR-WF-PD for Hr workflows.
    MM-wf for MM workflows. same for MM many WF's
    FI-wf for FI workflows. same goes here..
    etc..
    It's kind of hard for users to go through each mail and see if its relevant for them or not.
    If i can have different sender for each workflow they can easily distinguish.
    any suggestions?
    thanks
    sas

    Hello SasPas,
    you'll need to implement the following steps:
    - Subtype business object SELFITEM
    - Overwrite method SendTaskDescription
    - Copy/Paste the standard coding into the new method's coding section
    - On the spot, where the work item ID is read, navigate to the FlowItem with the given work item ID.
    - Read from a custom made table, where you assigned Flow-Item WS9xxxxx to sender names (actual user names in SAP)
    - Create user names for each eMail address, you'll need and maintain their email address in SU01
    - Replace the call to function module SWW_SRV_MAIL_SEND with a new call to SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 that offers the import parameter SENDER_ADDRESS. There you'll put the user name in. The document transposition to call the new function module might be a little tricky. Please try.
    -> The workflows that now make use of the standard send mail function, i.e. using SELFITEM.SendTaskDescription now have a new sender's eMail address. There's no need to change the workflow pattern, if you make a SYSTEM WIDE DELEGATION in transaction SWO1 from SelfItem to your subtypes business object type.
    Best wishes,
    Florin

  • How to send email notifications from a workflow?

    I am having problems trying to get notification emails to work from a workflow. I have done the following:
    1.Checked notification to file is commented out in waveset.properties
    2.Set SMTP server and port setting in Configure > Servers > email template
    3.Set SMTP and port setting in Account creation notification template.
    4.I am then running the following workflow code in reconsiliation per user workflow:
    <Action id='0' name='Send Notification' application='com.waveset.provision.WorkflowServices'>
                          <Argument name='op' value='notify'/>
                          <Argument name='template' value='Account Creation Notification'/>
                          <Argument name='type' value='email'/>
                          <Argument name='toAddress' value='$(email)'/>
               </Action>I am currently getting an error:com.waveset.util.WavesetException: toAddress must be specified.
    Whatever I try I cannot get the email template to pick up the email address for each user from the workflow.
    If I add a valid email address into the "toAddress" in the Account Creation Notification email template, the error goes away and reconsile completes, but no email is sent.
    Could someone advise what I can look into to sort this and get it working.

    You're running into a common IDM bug. I've hit it a few times too. I'm not sure of the root cause (sometimes using notifications as you did works for me sometimes it doesn't) but there's a workflow sub-process called "Notify" that you might look into. It's got a few extra features (such as retries) that the direct provisioning class does not.
    Call it using something like the following action:
          <Activity name='Notify User'>
            <Action id='0' name='send notification' process='Notify'>
              <Argument name='template' value=Template'/>
              <Argument name="from" value="[email protected]"/>
              <Argument name='to' value='$(userView.global.email)'/>
            </Action>
            <Transition to='end'/>
          </Activity>

  • Is there a threshold when emailing a group via workflow?

    I created 2 groups in SharePoint 2010. One has approximately 20 users and the other has 1600 users. I created a workflow that uses Group 1 (20 users) in the BCC field to send an email to this group. It works fine. When I edit the workflow to send the email
    to the larger group (same permissions), it does not send the email. Is there a threshold for how many members it may email?
    Thanks!

    There is no limit officially suggested by Microsoft on the number of Email recipients. (Check this)
    But, still if the recipients have not received the email. You may want to look for following,
    Whether none of the receipient received the mail or its just few of them.
    They may want to check the Junk folder :)
    There could be firewall issues(blocking the mails).
    It could be the mail server itself(unable to handle bulk email sending).

  • How do I send the contents of a list item (such as Notes) in the body of the email created in SP Workflow 2010?

    I have a custom list called "Suggestions" with a field called 'Notes from Reveiwer'.  Folks enter a new suggestion and kicks off a workflow to approvers.  Approvers review the suggestions and add notes.  When notes are added, I would
    like to have the contents of that field show in the email that I created in the workflow that goes back to the user who created the original suggestion.
    LDillon

    Where are the Approvers adding Notes? Is this part of the Task form?
    If yes, you need to get the ID of the task that you created in the workflow for the approvers. Using this ID, you can reference the field in another list and it as lookup in the email body. If you dont have this ID, create a Field in the Custom task and
    call it SuggestionID. Populate this with the ID of the current item from the Suggestions list. You should be able to then reference this to get the response of the Approver.
    If the Approver is responding in the same list, then just add the response field as a Lookup in your email that is sent back to the person who submitted the suggestion.
    Hope it helps.

  • How can I disable email notify in UCM workflow?

    Using <$wfSet("wfJumpEntryNotifyOff", "1")$> in entry events of workflow steps I can disable email notify. But I need to disable this email in contribution step too.
    Is it possible?

    The contribution step cannot be modified, so it is certainly not possible by the means of using <$wfSet("wfJumpEntryNotifyOff", "1")$>
    Note also that emails in the contribution step are by definition sent to authors when their content was rejected, so it might be quite advisable to give them a note.

  • Misspelled word in the Automated Email being sent by Workflow system

    Hi Gurus,
    First of all I'm absolutely clueless about workflow so please don't be hating. :X
    I am trying to fix a bug in one of the email templates being sent to email addresses of our employees. The subject line have a misspelled word.
    Where do I start?
    Whats the tcode to go to these templates? And how do I search for the correct email to be corrected given that the information I have is the Subject line and the body of the email.
    Points will be awarded.
    Many thanks,
    Regards,
    Olekan Babatonde

    There are several transactions you can use to check a workflow template. Depending on what you want to do you could use PFTC, SWDD or SWDD_CONFIG.
    Finding the correct task from only the subject or content is much harder. The best thing to do is run SWI1 for the period the e-mails are generated. In the list you get is a column task which holds the tasknumber. Now you need to find the step which actually sends your e-mail and get the corresponding tasknumber. Using this in PFTC and the where used function you should be able to find the workflow (WS....). Then you can use SWDD_CONFIG to change the text.
    But if the e-mail is SAP standard I would raise an OSS message and ask them to make the correction.

    Martin
