Email import adding linebreaks

My email messages have the following header line:
> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8; format=flowed
The "format=flowed" modifier of the Content-Type gives specific
instructions on how to deal with linebreaks in the message, as specified
in RFC3676: http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3676.txt
Could you please fix the email import to follow these rules? (I wouldn't
mind if you followed the 10 year old version of those rules from RFC
2676, but some people might object that that doesn't guarantee long URLs
don't get wrapped.)

If the emails are in another account in your mail application, simply drag them to your iCloud account in mail.

You can't. Why on earth would you attempt to manage 2500 emails with setting up a folder structure or some means of doing so? Simply keeping them in an single inbox is not realistic, no matter what email client you use.

  • Emails imported from windows, must delete going back several years, but I think I have deleted them only to find that they pop up again.  How do I delete totally the unwanted emails.

New imac, emails imported from Windows.  Emails to delete goiing back to 2008 but no matter what I do to delete them, they are still there.  How do I get rid of the ones that are no longer wanted.

Assuming you are using Mail, delete them in mail and then empty the Mail's trash. Also check Mail - Preference - Accounts - Mailbox Behaviors - Trash setting

  • Bogus email accounts added in Mail Application

I just noticed that one of our client machines has an email account added to it that was not added by the user or IT admin. The account is grayed out and cannot be deleted in the preferences. In fact, everytime I try to delete it creates a duplicate. I appears to be sending some kind of emails out through this client and consuming a lot of memory. It appears that there maybe a virus or the client may have been hacked? Is anyone else having this experience or have any suggestions as to how to remove this account for good?

  • Emails imported from Entourage2004 with attachments are not listed as having attachments in Mail.app

The attachment is still there.  But the attachment column is blank when viewing the list of e-mails.  Is there anything I can do to get Mail to display the attachment icon in the listing?
I originally imported the Entourage 2004 emails by grabbing each Entourage folder, dragging it to a folder on my old PowerBook G4, dragging that folder to my external drive, and having Mail import the mailboxes from the external drive to Mail 6.3 ( OSX 10.8.3) on my new Mac Mini.  any ideas?  Thank you.

    Hello Ramki
DECISION_NOTE is a new element created in the standard decision task as of new releases (Note 1643764)
Once the user fills in the comments, they are saved as SOFM Objectsin DECISION_NOTE (this too is multiline element). All we have to do is bind it back to the workflow container in _ATTACH_OBJECTS.
    Hi Ronen
Thanks for the suggestion.....I was thinking on the same lines too....if at all we have to change the approach, I need to keep it least disruptive .
    Hi Rick
Will test the FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 ...let me check if I can redefine SENDTASKDESCRIPTION in a delegated subtype of SELFITEM and use this API ....(if at all I can)....
For the wait step part.... the attachment is added to the mail step via the binding from the workflow...._ATTACH_OBJECTS from Workflow to _ATTACH_OBJECTS of the email task...not sure where you want me to set a wait step. Request you to please elaborate a bit more.
Thank you all for your kind inputs!
Will be back with my today's trials...

Each email that I send got their adress added automatically in 'contact' or 'adress book'. How can I stop this to happen?

    I'm very glad that helped!
It's good you looked in the Manual first. Certainly not everyone does that.
With Apple products, I've found that not everything is completely documented, but sometimes if you try something that seems like it should work, it actually does work.
That's how I personally learned about this feature.

  • XML Import - Adding a page

    Hi!
i have one xml file with two tables in it and one template designed in indesign. So when i import the file there is only room for one table. Is it possible to duplicate the page with indesign scripting to have the second table on the second page in this template??
    Thank You!

You're solution is the only one that's possible since pages can't be added to a calendar and the back page is not editable.
If you use a jpg or png image of about 3000 x 1500 pixels you should get decent results. What is desired is an image around 300 dpi as that's the resolution of the pdf document that iPhoto creates for uploading and printing the calendar.
I think the png format will scale text better than a jpg or tiff.

  • Trying to get emailed schedule added to iCal automatically

I am currently trying to get my schedule which is emailed to me to automatically be added to iCal.
This is the format that my schedule comes in:

    Dec 31: Tuesday 12:30PM - 09:00PM
    Jan 01: Wednesday (Not Scheduled)

There are some very specific rules when creating dates from strings in AppleScript and your code doesn't follow them, which is probably why it's failing.
The specifics are touched on in the recent AppleScript release notes, but the upshot is that crafting a date from a string is tricky, at best, partly due to the numerous date formats employed around the world.
The recommended solution involves starting with a date object such as current date and changing the elements you want. This is guaranteed to work better than any string.
In addition to that I don't recommend using offsets in the text as the basis for extracting the date from the message. It's prone to errors.
    I'd rework this something like:
    using terms from application "Mail"
on perform mail action with messages theMessages for rule theRule
      tell application "Mail"
        repeat with eachMessage in theMessages
set recivedmessage to content of eachMessage
repeat with eachLine in receivedMessage -- iterate through each line in the message
          try
set thisDate to (get current date) -- start with a valid date
set {m, d} to {word 1 of eachLine, word 2 of eachLine} -- get the first two words of each line
            -- handle the day:
set day of thisDate to d
-- there is an easier way of doing this, but I'm lazy:
            -- handle the months:
            if m = "Jan" then
set month of thisDate to 1
else if m = "Feb" then
set month of thisDate to 2
            -- and so on…
            end if
-- rest of code to add the event to iCal goes here
            end try
end repeat -- for each line
end repeat -- for each message
      end tell
    end perform mail action
At the end of this, you'll end up with a valid date object that you can pass to iCal as the event start date, rather than the string object you're trying to use now.

  • IPad/iPhone both crashing with email accounts added

It all started about three weeks ago.  I installed a third party app for inventorying DVDs.  Soon after that my iPhone 4 started crashing with every app I tried to use.  I then noticed my iPad 2 doing the same thing.  I had installed the app on my iPad so see if it worked better on a bigger screen (bad eyes).
Now my iPad was crashing.  Both units were running iOS 4.3.2.  I immediately deleted the app but they continued to crash.  I looked online and found that I should reset the units.  I did.  I reset them all the way to resetting the network settings.  Nothing.
I then saw that I should delete my email accounts, so I did.  Wow!  My crashes stopped.  Why would deleting my email accounts stop the crashes?  I then slowly added email accounts.  First my Exchange and then a couple of IMAP accounts.  (Note: this is happening on both iPhone and iPad).
This last Saturday I tried to call my wife and hit the PHONE icon and got nothing but a white field with the notations at the top for signal, Wi-Fi, and battery.  I had to text her to have her call me.  Once the call ended, the phone went right to the main icons.  Now I was desperate.  I need my phone for work.  I couldn’t see my contacts or get to the place I could make a call.  After three days of resetting, rebooting, turning off and getting short of throwing it at the wall I thought of something.  I deleted all my email accounts and guess what?!  My phone stuff came back.  My contacts were gone because I deleted my Exchange account but I could make a call now.
I have since added just my Exchange account to the iPhone to get my contacts back and it is working.  Right now it seems to be working but I don’t have all my email I need.
My iPad is different in that I upgraded to 5.0.1 last night.  The problem is still there.  To delete my email accounts, I had to go to Settings and select the Email line.  Then I set the iPad down and fixed my breakfast before the email account list came up.  I deleted the accounts and hard reset the iPad.  No crashes.
I added an Exchange account and an IMAP account and the crashes return.
Why is my email causing my iStuff to crash?  I am to my wits end.  Upgrades, reboots, resets, cursing, head banging, fist through the wall, and praying does nothing to fix the problem.
Both units burn through battery when they are having problems.  The only good thing is the iPhone is a good hand warmer during cold weather.
    What now?

    +1: exactly the same issue.

  • Problem with large email imports to Mac Mail

So I am trying to transfer a large archive of emails (probably about 50k emails in total, in folders of 1-10k or so each) from Thunderbird to Mail, and it hasn't been easy. It's terribly slow, so I've started to do individual mailbox transfers one by one.
The problem I'm having is that once large mailboxes are transferred over, Mail crunches many of the messages in those mailboxes into a single thread. For instance, one folder with a total of 5k messages appears after importing as a folder with 2500 or so individual messages, and 2300 messages all glued together as a single thread. That's not ideal, but what's worse is that this same thread seems to not be getting stitched together with messages arriving in my inbox, generating complete confusion. I tried just deleting this monster thread in order to just selectively import some messages using my IMAP server, but the thread actually won't delete at all (it disappears briefly, then reappears once I navigate back to that mailbox).
Really want to use Mail, but finding this process quite frustrating.
I'm working from a new iMac with Yosemite, Mail 8.0.

Hi, not certain what the problem is & not on 10.10 right now, but check Mail's menu, something like View & look for something like not display as threaded.

  • Thunderbird email import into Mail.app

When I use the import messages feature of the Mail.app in Leopard OS X, it imports my emails from my Thunderbird profile, but only up until July, and none of the past 4 months. Any idea why it wouldn't import my recent messages of the past 4 months?

I've never heard of anything at all that would do this. you can do it by hand but there is nothing that will automate this.

  • Email addresses added to my email address help
