Email in my iphone not working after icloud

hi, woke up this morning and realized I wasn't getting incoming emails in my laptop. When I log into icloud, mail is all there. So I was able to manually change my preferences (not exactly sure what I did - but email is wokring on my laptop now). But for my iphone, not so much. I tried to go into Settings for Mail and then got a bit stuck after that. Do I add Server name and if so, what do I enter in there? I tried to enter in smtp.mail.me.com but it failed. Can someone give me some step by step instructions for an iphone dummy like me? (my iphone is a 3G so not so new....) Is that the issue?

Mail on iPod Touch not working after iCloud password change

A few days ago, I was prompted to change the mail password for my iCloud account. My iPad and MacBook mail were both successfully updated and then accessed. When I tried my iPod, it said the password was incorrect. I delted the account and added it again, but the account is still not accessble.
After some research, I think my iPod is a second-generation model. It was purchased two years ago this month, so I was disappointed to see that it cannot be updated to iSO 5. Because I cannot have this upgrade, I cannot get the iCloud option in Settings which would help me out. I suspect this is the root of my mail problem.
Is there any way to get my mail to work?

Update: I just spent some time with an on-line chat. Turns out that when I switched to iCloud a few months ago, I missed an opportunity that started on May 1, 2012.
For those of you who have not yet made the switch to iCloud, the paragraph below might help. Please note that the Apple help said that I should use Firefox rather than Safari to access the site. Crazy! Why would an Apple Application not work.
What if I just want to keep using my email on all my devices?
As of May 1, you can choose to keep using your mail after MobileMe ends, even on devices that don’t meet the iCloud system requirements. Just go to me.com/move and select the option to keep using your email after MobileMe ends. Once you have completed this short process, your mail will continue to work on devices that don’t meet the iCloud requirements after MobileMe ends on June 30, 2012.

Email Setup Application Does Not Work After Update

I seem to be having the same problem as others with the email setup application.
When I updated my Blackberry to the new OS6, I went to my email setup and it said "looking for updates"
It finds a new update from my already installed email setup app 6.0.0 to the new 6.11.0419.0755.
When I click "download" it says replace existing version? I click "yes"
The it says: "com.rim.bis.client" contains a different version of module "net_rim_bis_client" which is also used by email setup application. If you proceed, "email setup application" may cease to function properly. proceed?
If I click "yes proceed" it crashes my blackberry and it will not reboot and I have to do a complete hard reboot, wipe the device and reload everything from my backup on blackberry desktop.
If I click "no" not to proceed, I cannot open the email setup application.
I have tried downgrading to version 5 of the OS, I have rebooted with a battery pull, crashed my blackberry twice and spent hours reloading all my applications and systems. I am at the end of my rope, and I don't know what else to do?!
If there was a way to turn off the automatic search for updates on my device under the setup and email settings, i think I would be able to set it up in the older version 6.0.0

yep same problem here
i had this problem and got a replacement handset.
i have had to do an update and got the same issue yet again.
The funny thing is, is when i got my new handset i had to run the email setup application and it worked fine.
now its failed and i have to boot in safe mode and wipe etc.
Will someone sort this out???!! O2, Blackberry whoever. Shambles!

There are a few things you can try. The first is to simply reset the Shuffle as it may be the cause of the issue.
Resetting iPod shuffle
Otherwise, also make sure that the earbuds are plugged all the way in and that the white part of the headset is flush with the body of the Shuffle.
If possible, use another set of earbuds to see if they work okay. If they do, we know its the headset that is the problem and from there you'll need to take the necessary steps to replace them.

Iphone not working after update to 7.06. from 7.04.

I updated my iphone from ios 7.04 to ios 7.06. The phone stopped suddenly. I can do nothing. The phone is showing the apple sign in display from last day. My Itunes don't detect my iphone. Could you please give a suggestion to make it work? I think I should not have updated to newer version.

Find Friends Location on iPhone not working after reset

My grandson recently reset his iPhone 6 for reasons related to certain music not syncing properly with iTunes. As a result of the reset, his location is labeled "not available" in the Find Friends app when others are trying to find him. He can still see his friends locations. They just can't see him (his phone). Interestingly, in his Find My Friends app, under Me, it shows "location services off". But under Settings, Privacy, Location Services, it shows "On" and Find Friends app is showing "While Using". His iCloud account is also showing Share My Location as "On" From his iPhone ("This Device").
Any help as to what could be causing this would be most appreciated.

We were able to fix the issue by doing the following:
In Settings select Privacy, Location Services and scroll down to the bottom and select System Services. While everything was green (switched on), we turned Share My Location off and then back on. His location is now available to his friends (and parents). I have no idea why this worked to fix the issue, but it did.

Hi all.I have a new iPhone 5 handset replaced under warrenty with full icloud restore to the new handset.All is well except my mail wont work and is saying my password is incorrect. I have gone into settings and everything is as normal but i keep getting this pop up saying password is incorrect.Would anyone know of why this is happening.Many thanks in advance

If this is your iCloud email account, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Mail off, then turn it on again.
If it's a different email account, delete the account and recreate it again.

This morning I tried to load my Iphone battery.
I also updated my phone.
Then My computer asked me if I would syncronise with my PC,
unfortunately I said yes and afterwords I got this message that If I did that
I would loose all my data from my Iphone 4.
I the stopped this syncronising and now I simply cannot open my phone, that is
I cannot conect to Itunes on my phone.
Do I really have to upload all my data again. Does this problem come due to that i did not register my phone
on itunes.

Can someone help?I purchased iphone in USA (I live in U.K.)Got it to work in U.K. on O2 using correct sim, etc. Updated to firmware 3.1.3 now all I get when I enter iTunes is a message "The sim card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported" Can anyone help resolve this issue so I can use my beloved iphone again?

The iPhone is sold in the U.S. as carrier locked with AT&T only. If you are using an O2 SIM card with the iPhone, this means your iPhone was hacked to be unlocked. Installing a firmware update on a carrier locked iPhone that has been hacked to be unlocked re-locks the iPhone to the designate carrier the iPhone was sold as carrier locked with - in this case with AT&T, and the same applies when restoring such an iPhone with iTunes if wanted or needed.
Hacking a carrier locked iPhone to unlock it or for any reason is against Apple's license agreement for the iPhone, is not supported by Apple directly or indirectly via these discussions, and voids the warranty.

Setting new email account on iphone not working - but same EXACT account settings on iPad working fine.

I am attempting to setup my website's email on my new iPhone 5s iOS 7.1.2
I have Yahoo! setup and working perfectly. But when I attempt to setup the new email account using the same exact settings that are on my iPad - I get an error that says the username or password is incorrect. I have rebooted the phone and no luck. I have attempted to setup the account as both IMAP as well as POP3... and get the same error message. I know that this is a situation that the password is correct and the error message isnt telling me what is really going on. Does anyone have any idea?

Yahoo has hundreds of mail servers that are notorious for being out of sync. In all likelyhood, you are hitting two completely different servers on your iPad and your phone.
It's a Yahoo problem. The best thing you can do to alleviate the problem is dump Yahoo and move to something else for email. It's been like this for years. I wouldn't expect to see it fixed anytime in the foreseeable future.

Find my iPhone not working

My son's iPhone 4s was locked a few months ago by some friends who were playing a joke on him. They input the wrong passcode over and over again until it was locked indefinietly. I had to restore the iPhone using a method I found online and got his phone working again. I didn't realize it until recently, but his Find My iPhone app no longer works. It is on and logged in as my Apple ID (although I have to continually put the password in). Anytime I try to use Find My iPhone to locate his phone, it shows me that his phone is offline. Even when I open the app on his phone and try to locate his phone, it says it's offline.
I feel that this issue has something to do with the restore that I did. I don't remember exactly HOW I restored the phone, but know I used iTunes. I've checked his settings for Location Services and Find My iPhone...All are active and Find My iPhone is active on my sons phone. His phone is also updated to the most recent iOS software. The wierd thing is, I CAN find him or his phone using the Find Friends app. He has a tendency to misplace his phone in our home and the Find My iPhone app is great because it allows me to send a signal to play a sound to help us locate it. The Find Friends app doesn't have that capability. Has anyone else had an issue with Find My iPhone not working after a restore?

Your iCloud account is not configured on your device. Choose Settings > iCloud and enter your iCloud account information.
Your device is not update. It needs to be running iOS 5 or higher.
The date is incorrect on your device. Choose Settings > General > Date & Time to check and set the date.
Your device has lost network connectivity. If you have access to your device, and it appears to have an active Internet connection, in this case enable and then disable Airplane mode or turn the device off and back on.
Your device appears in Find My iPhone, but is offline, the reasons:
Your device is powered off, such as when the battery has run out.
Your iPhone’s cellular service has been terminated by your wireless service provider.
Your iPod Touch, iPad, or Mac is asleep and not connected to a known Wi-Fi network. The command will be processed when your device is awakened and connected to the Internet.
