Email in OnDemand

I am wondering about Email management in OnDemand... It is mentioned in the Communications chapter of R16 Help.
Pls... Is this a facility just available for Contact Center OnDemand ?
or in other words...Can a User manage his emails thru OnDemand ?

I am aware of Email Marketing OnDemand...and have included developed a couple of demos with it.
The question was in reference to the Email button when using the Communications tab. Is this "email facility" just in reference to the Contact Center OnDemand or it is a more general email facility...?

Outlook integration error message

Hi, when we try to install the outlook integration, everything goes fine. But when we try to sign in after selecting add to CRM on demand button, we get the following error:
"Unable to establish a connection with the Siebel On Demand Server (secure-ausomxgfa.crmondemand.com)"
The normal login through the website does work.
Can someone help us?

I have come across this in the past - sometimes I have found the problem to be (if your using SSO) that the SSO URL has not been entered into the registery of my PC. Ensure the UIServer and Server keys have the following: secure-ausomxgfa.crmondemand.com - this will be on HKLM\Software\Siebel CRM OnDemand\Siebel Outlook Email Integration OnDemand.

IE7 and EMOD

I'm running IE7 and Vista and can't get Step 2 in the Email Marketing OnDemand function to work. It gives me the error message "The editor was not able to create the DHTML Editor. please run the client installation or contact you system administrator." I was just trying to access an email we had setup the day before on a Win2000 IE6 pc, it ran all the installers but fails to open. Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone have Vista/IE7 and EMOD working?

In case anyone is interested, I managed to get the control to work with IE7 and Vista to some extent by downloading and installing the same Ektron eWeb ActiveX from another site (as a manual install, not as an ActiveX download). Now I can edit the email without issues in HTML. I occasionally get dumped out of the editor when I save, but to date have not had any occasion when the save did not complete (so the editor crashes but upon reconnect, the HTML has been saved successfully).

Ondemand subreport or a drilldown, I want the content to appear in the same tab that is in the main report

When I click on the ondemand subreport or a drilldown, I want the content to appear in the same tab that is in the main report itself. How to make this work? As of now it opens up a new tab for drilldown or ondemand subreport? How to make this work? I want any expert here to throw some light on this?Plz mail me at [email protected] 

I fixed this problem. It was pretty easy.
First, in the address bar, type in " about:config " .
When it asks if you are sure about making changes & it may void the warranty, click "yes--I promise I'll be careful" or something along those lines. (I heard there is no warranty, & it's just a joke)
Once you get to the new screen, find " browser.link.open_newwindow "
You will see the # 3 on the same line. Change that value to 1.

How can I add a direct refrence to a task from an email

Hi, I use a work flow to notify a user when a task is opened, how can I send with this task email notification a direct link to task itself? (same goes with opp/SR)

Need Help with Inappropriate Commercials Playing While Watching OnDemand

My kids and I were watching The Goldbergs TV show via OnDemand and inappropriate commercials have played for the last two times we sat to watch the show. I have a 7 year old girl and last week commercials for the Ouija horror movie played. I can't fast forward the commercial. This week commercials from an ABC show about murder came on.
I'm angry and frustrated that I am spending $200 a month for my Verizon services and can't fast forward through these commercials which should NOT be playing during a family friendly show.
I'm trying to find a way to send an email to the Verizon support team to complain. My question is two fold: Can someone help me find out how to send an email complaint to Verizon and is there any way I can fix this issue?

Verizon has no control over this (just like the ones that show during regular programming).
My suggestion would be to post on ABC social media that you are not pleased with their choice of commercials.
And they are also the one that sets the rules that you can't FF.

There are couples of web services provided by oracle for this purpose, by using that you can insert, update, query, delete records in CRM OnDemand.
So you need to write the web service client program which takes data from your web form and create record in OnDemand. It can be in any language / platform (like java, c++, PHP etc)
Check web services guide for more details.

Schedule to email

Hi, I am new to crystalreports.com and want to ask about the schedule to email/PDF feature. I tried to schedule an email for a report file and got a message saying "The scheduling function is only allowed for reports with a salesforce.com, an xml, or a BI OnDemand data source. To schedule a report using other data sources, please use the Desktop Publisher". Can the schedule to email feature available for all types of files or just those with a data source? Looking forward to your replies. Thanks.

Just reports with a data source. The scheduler processes the report at the scheduled time against the data source the report was created from. It then stores a local copy of the report with saved data in the History section and (if selected) can email a copy of it as well.

Create Web Form data records in Oracle CRM OnDemand

Hello,
One of our customers has a requirement to capture leads through a Web based HTML form. This captured data (First Name, Last Name, email Id) should then create a corresponding Opportunity record in Oracle's CRM OnDemand.
From what I know, CRM OnDemand is a provider in terms of Web Services and not a Taker.
Can somebody suggest on the best way to implement this?

Http link to activity or opportunity in the workflow email message

Hello All,
I created a custom checkbox in task screen. When new task is created and checkbox is checked send email to the user.
in email body I would like to include the http link so that when user click on the link directly goto Activity/Task or atleast opportunity.

Problem building schema - Siebel OnDemand Web Services

I'm trying to call a Siebel OnDemand Web Service from BPEL.
I've downloaded the Contact.wsdl from OnDemand and imported it into my project.
I've created a partner link and created variables for the input and output.
The problem is that JDeveloper cannot build the schemas defined in the wsdl.
If you try to copy a value to the Input variable, JDeveloper gives the error:
Exception - Problem building schema!
You cannot navigate the schema path.
Does anyone know why this is happening?

I'm also trying to do this.
Some info from the Siebel web services guide:-
"The login request is an HTTPS request to instantiate a session and obtain a session ID. A client invokes login by sending an HTTP GET request to a URL like the following:
https://secure.crmondemand.com/Services/Integration?command=login
NOTE: The login parameter value is case sensitive.
■ Login input. The input to login is provided in the URL parameters and the HTTP headers, as follows:
■ The only URL parameter to be set is command. This parameter value is login.
Two HTTP headers, UserName and Password, must be set with the appropriate values for your system. For example:
❏ UserName: [email protected]
❏ Password: mypass
■ Login output. The login command returns the following items:
■ A session cookie, jsessionid. The client must use this cookie when submitting subsequent requests, including logoff requests.

Ondemand desktop publisher error

Hello Experts;
I am trying to add a new dataset to desktop publisher. But when i try to chosse destination path im taking invalid username or password error:
server : https://bi.ondemand.com
email address : my ondemand.com login address
password : my ondemand.com login pass
I am using free version, is it the problem?

Yes the desktop publisher works with BI OnDemand Essential and Advanced Editions as it looks for folders located under "My Organization". With the Personal Edition you do not have a "My Organization" folder but rather just the "My Stuff" and "Shared with Me" areas.
