Email issues because verification has failed.

My iPhone 3GS will not connect to iCloud email.
I am getting a message that says:
Verification Failed
The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "setup.icloud.com" which could put your confidential information at risk.
Then all I am offered is the "OK" button.
I removed and then added my account info again, but that did not fix the problem.
Any help would be great.

Try resetting the iPhone.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings the restart your iPhone.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
And on the iPhone tap Settings > iCloud. Make sure Mail is switched on.

IMCEAMAILTO issue causing "Delivery has failed ...".

What started as a single user experiencing an issue sending emails to some addresses has started to become multiple users.
In Outlook 2007, when a user does a reply to some emails the E-mail Type: changes from the normal SMTP to MAILTO and then when the user sends the email it is rejected because either Outlook or our Exchange server is adding @domain.local to the end of
the
recipient’s email address.
This also happens with emails where the senders address is shown as a clickable option [mailto:[email protected]].
Email address has been changed to
[email protected] for confidentiality reasons.

Okay here's the skinny. I don't see an immediate patch coming out for this. Also I'm concerned that Microsoft sees this currently as a single call, not that a bunch of folks are impacted.
While there is a bug they are tracking on this Offug49462, short term there will only be info detailed in the security update that there's a side effect of this update. No eta of when exactly that wording will be posted in the bulletin, but that certainly
will be sooner than a patch fixing this.
The trigger appears to be when you click on mailto links.
You have two choices as I see it:
1. uninstall the patch, and wait until I post back that there is an ultimate fix. I don't see this coming out in a week or two honestly, so be aware that per my read on the situtation, this won't be resolved quickly with another patch.
2. leave the security patch on, and as a workaround to ensure that you don't accidentally click on a mailto link and thus flip your email addresses and get NDRs to do the following:
In Outlook:
Click Tools > Options
Click the Mail Format tab
Click Editor Options
Click Proofing
Click AutoCorrect Options
Click the AutoFormat Tab
Uncheck "Internet and network paths with hyperlinks"
Click OK, OK and OK
Neither one is good, but it's all I have right now until something is coded up long term.
So here's where you can do me a favor. Call 1-800-Microsoft and explain to them you have an issue with a security update 2344993, say that you too are impacted by Offup49462 bug and tell them how many in your firm/office/school have been impacted.
Like I said right now they only have one call on this issue, and I'd like to ensure they see more numbers of impacted people.

Satellite A200 - WebCam issue - webcam drives has failed

Hi,
I need some help regarding the integrated webcam of my Satellite A200.
Everytime I start the laptop I keep receiving a message saying that the webcam drives has failed and I have to restart the computer, but the problem persists.
I have downloaded an updated webcam driver, but nothing.
Can anyone give me an idea of what is going on?

Ok - I've had the same problem:

Same when trying to update driver from Toshiba site, same when rolled back / uninstalled drivers, then re-installed default drivers. Nothing worked.
Sorry - but the solution that worked for me wasn't easy.
I had to disassemble the laptop to take a look - fix something else ( wireless on/off switch had broken / jammed in off position - lugs had snapped on back of the slider switch on the case, but no problems, I just left it in "on" position, as wireless can be switched off in software anyway). I decided as I'd got that far already, to pull the laptop completely apart and clean it out properly.
There's a shielded cable running from the webcam in the lid, though to a small white socket on the motherboard, accessible under the keyboard, next to the wireless board.
I was disconnecting various other cables etc, and came across this one disconnected, and couldn't remember disconnecting it myself. Hmmmm...
Anyway, I connected it back up on reassembly, it pushes in to the socket and seems seated, but needs an extra little push to "snap" securely in place.
My guess is that some of these haven't been seated properly ex-factory. They probably work just fine, until perhaps through repeated flex on the back of the keyboard when typing, or opening and closing the lid, the connector falls out of the socket.
Anyway - my webcam works again now. (using Vista SPII and all current updates, but in my case that's not relevant, as it was NOT a software or driver issue).
There's instructions (with pictures) for disassembling the A200 on the net - use google to find them. You don't need to pull it completely apart, just to the point where you can get the keyboard out, then you can access the connector.

You don't need an app. You need couple's counseling. I believe what you want to do may also be illegal in many jurisdictions.

The phone is your responsibility, if it's before the 1 year warranty you can get defects fixed by the Manufacturer of the phone. If you want to leave pay your termination fee, or find a carrier who claims they will do it but don't really expect it to happen either.

I was updating Firefox to the newest version 7.0.1 from version 6.0.2 I think it was, I clicked the restart Firefox button that always comes up after updating. It started updating and then Firefox never restarted like it was supposed to after it was done updating. I then tried to open Firefox and it told me "This application has failed to start because xul.dll was not found." I did have Firefox crash on maybe about 30 minutes or so earlier which bothered me because I have been using Firefox for years and never had it crash on me before but I didn't think much of it at the time it happened because I was able to go back onto Firefox and finish what I had been working on. A while later I checked for updates and updated. The first time I tried to update it didn't work though so I had to shutdown Firefox and reopen Firefox and start the update a second time. It was after the second time that when I tried to open Firefox I got that message about failing to start because xul.dll can't be found. I filed a crash report when my Firefox crashed. This would have been around 1am-2am in the morning that Firefox first crashed and then wouldn't allow me to open it after updating. I have a DELL laptop running the Windows XP operating system but the laptop is probably at least 6 or 7 years old. The laptop will no longer charge so I always have to have it plugged into an outlet. Both my laptop hard drive and my external hard drive give me messages that I am running out of disk space on my hard drive. I bought this laptop 6 or 7 years ago second hand so it could be even older. In short it's a piece of crap and it gives me all kinds of issues but I currently can't afford a new one, but I have never had any problems with Firefox and I use Firefox more than any other aspect of my laptop so it's really really bothering me. I tried to uninstall and it said I couldn't because the file is corrupt or something, but I think I finally got it uninstalled and/or deleted or whatever, but now I try to reinstall/download it again from the beginning and I can't. I recently tried to download the latest version of iTunes, but an error occured during the process. It was recommended that i reinstall iTunes to attempt to correct that problem. After I attempted to reinstall, an error came up with the title "iTunes.exe - Unable to locate component." the body of the error message read "This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." When I click "Ok", another error message pops-up reading "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)". I tried reinstalling iTunes 3 times now, each time with the same result. What is going wrong, and what do I need to do?

Kappy, I completely overlooked your original response due to it's small, one line nature and poor UX design of the area surrounding the message area.
Upon following the complete instructions linked from the link you posted (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US), my first attempt resulted in everything being installed except for iTunes. So trying yet again.
I do have Safari for Windows Vista installed, which is why I could not delete everything in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\ folder. I'm guessing this is Apple's way of completely removing Safari Win from history (there's always an under-the-table reason when something like this happens with Apple installs, they just won't say it publicly). Uninstalling Safari. Uninstalling Safari removes the remaining "Internet" files from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\
Uninstalling iCloud. Uninstalling MobileMe Control Panel that was never used. That leaves only QuickTime installed as an Apple product on my machine.
Just for the record, I did not have this folder: C:\Program Files\iPod\
Emptied the Recycling Bin.
Shut down and fresh start-up.
Install attempt again: results in the installer saying something interrupted it (no other programs open)
Installing again immediately after error: Success
Clearly there are issues with this installer.
A pop-up shows up with "The registry settings used by the iTunes drives for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burining software. Please reinstall iTunes"
No other CD burning software installed other than what came pre-installed by Gateway and a install of Windows Vista Pro (or whatever the top expensive one was called).
iTunes launched. iTunes Library, items like Movies & Music, and playlists are still intact and usable.
Good thing I don't have these issues on my Macs (ahem, which is why these errors are allowed to persist by Apple to discourage Microsoft/Windows/PC use and purchase, all about the money and Apple has become the non-caring giant it once sought to overthrow as the underdog, miss those days).

HT6001 I have tried numerous time to update iTunes to Version 11.1.4. Each time it has failed. I get the message of "This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found". Also I get a message of "Error 7". Advise please.

For many users at this point in time (iTunes 11.1.4.62) uninstalling iTunes alone is not enough and they may need to undertake further steps...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

That one is a DirectX 8 module and might not be included in the most recent DirectX 9 redistributable available from Microsoft. If it's been installed as part of a partial DirectX 8 install (as part of a game for example), that can cause the issue. Can you track down a full DirectX 8 redistributable? If so, if you install that, does that clear up the iTunes error?

The message you go says that Apple sent to the email account you used an email to verify your email account. You have to open up that email message and then click on the link inside to complete verifying the email address.
