Email lag or freeze after delete

Question

I have been having severe lag in the mail app after deleting emails. Can't scroll up and down, can't open or delete other mail, sometimes for minutes.

Triggers Fired Multiple Times
If an UPDATE or DELETE statement detects a conflict with a concurrent
UPDATE, then Oracle performs a transparent ROLLBACK to SAVEPOINT and restarts the update. This can occur many times before the statement
completes successfully. Each time the statement is restarted, the
BEFORE statement trigger is fired again. The rollback to savepoint
does not undo changes to any package variables referenced in the
trigger. Same way non-transactional actions (like sending email) will not be undone by mini-rollback. So if your delete can not be done in one "pass" and a mini-rollback occurs email will be sent twice.
