Email message keep getting marked unread automatically?

So I've been noticing recently that message that I've already read or have marked as read, often keep coming back marked unread again. This may sometimes happen 5 or 10 minutes later.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT

Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive
2) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

Imap email messages keep getting remarked unread after reading them?

I have a specific email address, which is accessed through Imap services. Whenever I read them, or mark them read, a few minutes or hours later, I will see that they have been marked unread again. The messages that seem to get automatically remarked unread all seem to be messages that had arrived during that day only.
Any idea how to fix this?

Yougov email messages keep getting marked as spam

Hi,
As you can deduce from the title I am a member of Yougov and I use BTYahoo spamguard in email classic. Every once in a while I spot a message in the spam folder from Yougov and have to mark it as not spam.
This works for a few weeks, but doesn't permanently "stick" and I keep missing the invitations to take part in surveys
Is there any way I can white list these messages from [email protected] ?
Although I use the BTY Spamguard I do all of my email in Mozilla Thunderbird, so I'm only in the BTY email once a flood.

The indication is there is still an error in the settings or the mailserver is down. Please go thru the troubleshooting steps in that thread.
BTW: I would just ask if you would try getting Thunderbird, set it up for the email address that you are having trouble with, and see if it works. Thunderbird will tell you right off if there is a problem. It will verify and check the address and the settings before you are even done with the setup. Windows Mail is what was with Vista but disappeared when Windows 7 made it's debut.

Which version of Mail are you using as well as which Snow Leopard version you are using?

Who is the email provider? Not all accounts can be set up as POP3

Email messages in mailbox marked as read when they arrive on Blackberry

We are using Outlook Exchange 2007; from yesterday when I added a new email address it is marking messages in the mailbox as read when they arrive on Blackberry 8520 Curve. Can't for the life of me find the setting to change it and am losing the will to live! Any help appreciated.

I'm trying to verify my email and keep getting a session time out

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

Pesky email message keeps causing Entourage to close

I was cleaning out email messages tonight, and there is this one that shuts down Entourage every time I click on it - can't open it or delete it. I get the "Microsoft Entourage has encountered a problem and needs to close" message along with a request to send them a report. I've been using Entourage about 2 years and have never run into this problem before. It's Office 2004 and Entourage version 11.2.4.

I'm not certain if this trick will work but it can't hurt anything.
Go here: MacintoshHD/User/Library/Preferences. Open the Preferences folder and look for a file that looks similar to this: com.entourage.plist that's not exactly what is says but it's close. It's just the preference folder for Entourage and sometimes those files can become corrupted. If you can locate a file like that just drag it to the Trash, empty the Trash. Your Mac will create a new Entourage preference file for you. You might need to do the same with with your Office2004 preference file.

I have an apple id and i changed the password for setting up a ne ipod touch. it will not let me use my email address. keep getting error message to change my password. any ideas on why it wont work!

I purchased an iPod touch for my husband for Christmas. I am trying to set it up and using his email address but a message says his email is already in use and if we want to use it we must change the password. we did that and it still won't let me do anything. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

As a novice emailer, I keep getting "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page" and I have to close and start over again EVERY TIME.

I don't use this computer's new gmail very often. Therefore, I had some 150 emails that I was trying to go thru & delete if possible. Many emails gave another site to go to complete my understanding of this email. But "Firefox prevented...." statement appears on the top w/ only a blank screen. I try to go back a page...nothing happens. I have to close all the tabs and get out of it completely. Then I have to click on Firefox icon...go to gmail...select the same email if there was more to read on it or just skip to the next new email. Very frustrating to a computer-illiterate. I don't understand any of the computer lingo (jave...etc); it took me 1 hour to figure out how to get to this space to type in this question. I have already failed 3 times in asking/typing in the question box. PLEASE try not to give me technical phrases.....left, right, top, works best for me.... mahalo, cecile

I don't know if this is still a problem but to stop it go to Firefox>Options>Options>Advanced>General Then third line down there is a box to remove the warnings. (These instructions are for Firefox4; I don't know how to access this from other versions.)
I'm also not sure whether this just removes the service of stopping redirection or whether it just removes the warning so beware.

Can icloud email receive email messages from another account by automatically retrieving them like my iphone does. Microsoft calls this pop mail

I have an iphone and an ipad. I don't have an Exchange email account pulling all my messages from my verizon email account into my apple devices. My husband uses his Outlook computer at work to create 2 Inboxes on his iphone (one is his work email Inbox and one Inbox is his pulling from his personal account). I noticed using an Exchange-type email program with the iphone allows for features I want. I want to check email on my phone and ipad. I ALSO want to be able to file emailed coupons into an Inbox coupon folder on my phone and ipad for easy retrieval. It seems the icloud email program will let you do all of this. It also seems Google offers gmail and it will do this for me. Now that I set up an icloud email address, I can't figure out how to get Verizon email pulled into it. My iphone and ipad pulls my Verizon email but does not allow for Inbox folders. Verizon won't auto-forward emails to another account. Gmail will pull them for me though. Will icloud do this?

Verizon netmail just offered auto email Forwarding. So, even though icloud might might not offer the services Gmail and other email programs offer to pull email, it seems I might still be able to accomplish what I want using the other email account's ability to forward my email to my icloud email address. We'll see. Please reply if you know the answer to the icloud's ability to pull email in a way like pop-mail does for pc users. It would have helped me if I could've found the answer to that question in this support forum...
