I’m using 6233 with firmware 5.60 and latest PC-Suite.
I can’t activate email settings, when I try to select Menu > Messaging > Message settings > Email messages.
Email messages is gone.
I have run Nokia Software Updater Setup and reinstall firmware 3 times.
My provider has activate Email and I have create an POP3 E-mail account in Personal configuration.

What is the account type - POP or IMAP?
Sounds like the account is a POP accout is the sent messages are not available.
If so, what is the account setting with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account for removing messages from the server after being downloaded by the email client?
If the email client on your computer is removing messages from the server after being downloaded, the messages will be removed from your iPhone as well since the messages are no longer available on the server.
Although it is possible to access a POP account with more than one email client, a POP account is designed to be accessed with a single email client only.

Just went through a frustrating experience. After syncing my iPad, done on a regular basis, I updated to the latest software as suggested by Apple. Had an error and had to reset my iPad and Restore. No biggie - I always sync and had just done so.
Unfortunately no, email messages are not included as part of the sync; even though I only use the native Apple mail on the iPad. Very disappointing. I am religious about backing things up, was syncing nightly to my PC and backing up all files with an online service. The average user is not aware of this, and will be mad at losing something that looked like it should be encapsulated within the iPad product.
I'll still recommend the iPad, but it will now come with a big 'But, you have to do something extra ...'.
Anyway, long rant. So, how do I back up my email messages? I want to use my iPad for 99% of my work. I'm comfortable doing if I can be assured everything is being backed up.

The files you report, and the one name mbox in particular, indicate the message content was never converted from that in 10.3.9 for either of these accounts. Do you still have a copy of the original Mail folder taken from 10.3.9?
I think reindexing will cause the message content to be converted, now that you have 10.5.8. First, after quittting Mail, make a duplicate of the Mail folder, if you do not have a copy of the original as asked above, and move that resulting copy to the Desktop. Next, in the current Mail folder, remove the Messages folders from each Inbox.mbox and Sent Messages.mbox folder in each POP account folder -- keep this somewhere, at least temporarily. Next, drag the IMAP folder out of the Mail folder to the Desktop -- likely will be deleted later. Now in the current Mail folder remove the Envelope Index files (if more than, remove all of them). Relaunch Mail, and it will announce it is ready to import your mailboxes -- that process should convert the mailboxes in the POP account folders, and recreate the IMAP folder to sync with the IMAP server.

Report back on whether messages are now appearing in the Mail window for each account. If so, there are some things to now go back and remove once conversion has completed.

Zombie email message won't die! $1 bounty to anyone who can solve this.

I have a message that absolutely will not die. I've tried everything I can think of to delete it, but it keeps coming back. I've tried moving it from one mailbox to another, killing it with the delete key, killing it by cutting it (Command-X), but it lingers on. At this point, it only shows up in the index with a subject and date, but the content of the message is gone. I've tried rebuilding the mailboxes a number of times, but it always reappears. I've tried logging into my various accounts through the web interface, but it doesn't exist on the servers anywhere, it's only local as far as I can see.
In my last attempt to get rid of it, I scanned my ENTIRE HARD DRIVE for the string of text containing the subject line using grep, and narrowed it down to a few files in the ~/Library/Mail folder, which I deleted through the Terminal using rm. I then re-opened Mail and rebuilt the mailboxes, and the email STILL appears. It will no longer let me move the message to another mailbox, however, but I can't get the damned thing to disappear.
I will PayPal $1 to anyone who can come up with a solution that doesn't involve recreating my Mail accounts. May the game begin!

Are you using an IMAP or POP account?
Anything you do in the Terminal, Finder or some third party Mail app enhancers will very often mess up the index, which appears to be a symptom of.
I think you should force a reindexing by deleting the Envelope Index. With IMAP or Exchange account, forcing reindexing requires removing the account folder. See:

How do I get my email messages to open with just one tap? On my newer Macbook I just click once on the Mail app and my messages open automatically but on the Powerbook it takes two clicks. Can this be fixed to just one click? I've gone into preferences but can't seem to change it.

Thanks, I was wanting to just click once on a message and have it open right away and then be able to quickly go through my messages. I found the solution from another helpful Mac user. You just move the separator bar that divides your messages from the view pane and move it up and it works like a charm.

Group messaging simply puts all replies in one conversation in Messages. It doesn't prevent the behavior you experienced.
My suggestion which would be much easier in my opinion, is rather than do a text, send out an email and use bcc: , which will keep the audience hidden from each recipient.
Otherwise, if you're determinted to do only texts, the only way is to send your message to one person at a time. You can of course copy/paste your msg each time which might be helpful.

Unable to open my email messages on Firefox? How do I fix this?

I am not able to read my emails while I am in Firefox. This has happened about 8 days ago. I don't recall how this happened because I was able to use FF very well & never had any problems. I have been using Internet Explorer because most of my work has to be done on IE, the problem is that IE crashes too many times and its become very slow, I am just sick of it. I decided to use FF to read my emails & to do my PCH sweepstakes and play some games and maybe I would not get the screen crashing effect that I'm getting on IE. However, in order to get to do this I must open my email messages to proceed with the sweepstakes, but for some reason when I click on my messages nothing happens, they don't open up. How can this be repaird? I have even gone as far as deleting FF and re-downloading it again, but the problem still persists. I need help please!
I made a copy of my email screen to place in the box below, but it is not allowing me to paste? I tried clicking on install but all I got was an error message that it could not open up this document because it needs to know the creator. For the last severl weeks I have had difficulty launching sites from within my email messages. Thinking that I may have gone into "Settings" and set something wrong, I decided to reset to the default settings. So, in "Settings" I chose reset everything. Now, when I turn my iPad on all I get is a black screen with the picture of a white apple and a white line below it. Nothing else works. What can I do? Do I need to send this back to Apple to be restored?

You will hopefully be able to restore it yourself. It sounds like you erased all constant and settings rather than resetting all settings. But I'm basing my theory on the fact that you are seeing the Apple logo with the white progress bar (the white line) on the screen. That's what you would see if the software was being reinstalled and then it stopped on you. If that is what happened, you need to restore again and most likely need to use recovery mode.

However ...... If you are seeing the white line when you turn the iPad, let it go for twenty minutes or so, before you try restoring again. There is possibility that the software is still be installed and it can take a while before you see that white line move at all indicating that progress is being made.
Frankly, I don't think that the software is still being installed, but since you didn't say specifically how long the iPad has been like this, it could just be that the software hasn't finished installing yet. If you know better - meaning that it's been like this for hours or longer, then you do need to restore the device.

I've seen emails get stuck in the Drafts mailbox even after they have been sent. Check in the Sent mailbox to see if it has really gone out. If not, send it again. If so, delete it from the Drafts mailbox.

I downloaded Yahoo mail and have had nothing but trouble. If i reply to an email, the original email message goes away and I need it, it is my business.

If I reply to an email instead of composing a new one, the original message is gone. It is my business. Yahoo mail then will not just the original message, it has all the conversations between me and my customer.
Further, yahoo made itself my default browser. My default has been mozilla firefox for many years but i cannot even pull up firefox anymore.
I am about to quit yahoo and go through the inconvenience of having all my customers change my name again. I have a mac, did the preferences to identify firefox as default but yahoo is still there

You should be able to switch your Firefox settings to your preferred home page and search engine. For example, this extension will restore Google as your search engine, the built-in home page as your home page, and the normal "new tab" page: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/
But you also need to check for any Yahoo-specific add-ons that could keep driving your settings back to Yahoo. You can do that on the Add-ons page. Either:

TS4002 not seeing folder names some email message content from Firefox log in to iCloud

Lately when I access my iCloud account I'm not see the Folder names and some emails are showing no content from Firefox on my work PC, though when I view Mail from my iPhone the folders and the email message content is there. It doesn't happen all the time though it is become a more frequent occurrence. What gives?

This is the result you get when you try to sign into the iCloud Control Panel on Windows with an Apple ID which hasn't been used to set up an iCloud account, since you cannot set up an account on Windows. Once an account is set up elsewhere you should be able to log in perfectly well.
Forgive me for asking, but are you absolutely sure you are logging in with the right ID? Many people have separate IDs for iCloud and iTunes and it's easy to get them confused: so this is the first thing you should double-check.
Have you recently purchased additional Storage? Someone who had found that he was unable to log in in Windows until he had gone to the preference pane on his Mac and confirmed that extra storage there - I've not idea why that should be the case.

How do i change the email address beside the email message box icon on the screen ?

Hi i just got my first Blackberry. Only had it for one week and i think i messed it up. My wife has one and i wanted to input her address book into mine without loseing my info. I hooked both Blackberry s to the computer and use the desktop manager to import the info. I used the tranfer to a new Blackberry device option and i thought all was well until i looked into my address book and saw all my contacts where gone. I don t care about that there wasn t many of them and i can easily replace them but what is bothering me is her email address appears on the screen when i scroll over the email message inbox and its on the top of the email page. I get my emails not her s so its just the header in need changed so if anyone could help it would be great.

Can't create new contacts from email message

I get an email message that has a phone number in it and of course an email address. I want to create a new contact. I hold down on the phone number and a dialog appears asking if I want to add to contacts. I select it and press Create New Contact. I type in a name. I click Done. The dialog disappears. I go to Contacts and there is no entry. Is this supposed to work?

This solved it. Don't know why. Shouldn't be like this. When I searched for it, the file appeared. Not only it it appear but my three other attempts appeared as well. All four of them are in Contacts. That's a bit wacked I think.

Wait it gets better. I went back to the email. Clicked the email address to save it. Selected Add to existing contact. Found the contact. Added it. Click Done, and the name is gone again from the Conatcts directory. Used the search function again, and it reappeared.
But there's more. Left the phone app. Came back to it and the name is gone again. Apparently every time I want this name I have to add it by searching in Spotlight, and of course it's not updating iCloud so it's never going to get back to my computer.

I just watched 2 email messages disappear

Over the past month or so, I haven't been getting some email messages. I thought I was going crazy, but this time I was able to watch it happen.
I have a blog site I like to post messages to. For the message to be posted, they send me an email in which I have to click a link.
Well, I watched the email come in and before I could click on it, it disappeared. Not in my Junk folder, not in the Trash, just gone.
So I tried it again and watched the same thing happen. Not cool.

Yeah I am having this problem now, on both computers, both my wife's an my accounts. Random mail dissappears. I can produce it reliably by sending an email to myself, since those always dissappear.
They don't seem to go anywhere - you cant find them (search, spotlight, or anywhere), they dissappear online too (this is a MobileMe IMAP, no idea if it is affecting my other accounts). No rules are in place, and it is not junk since it doesn't show up there either. Anyway,S
