Email missing from my 6288

Hi all,
I've had my 6288 for over 12 months now and never wanted to receive emails on it.  Now I do, but I can find no mention of email in any of the menus anywhere.  The manual says:-
To activate the e-mail settings, select Menu > Messaging > Message
settings > E-mail messages. See “E-mail,” p. 49.
But, E-mail messages is not under Message settings.
What am I missing?
TIA
Greg

I have the same problem. I use Thunderbird and I removed some e-mails from it knowing I could retrieve it from the web. Wrong!!! My TB account is set to not remove from web when I get it. The most that remains on the web are 10. I'll be going on vacation hoping to get my emails off the web, but I sure can't count on it. Don't want to dump Verizon and go through the hassle of notifying my contacts of a change in e-mail accounts and hoping they remember to change it.

  • Emails missing from inbox on iphone

I have a good number of emails missing from the inbox on my iphone. My only email is gmail. The emails are random, not from any particular person or place. The messages are in the inbox on my imac and also when I access gmail account on my pc. They are simply missing on the iphone. If I access my gmail account on the pc and star one of the messages, then it does appear on my iphone in the starred folder. Remove the star and it's gone (still doesn't show up in inbox). I just noticed this yesterday because I was looking for something, so don't really know how long it has been like this. I have looked at iphone settings for mail but don't see anything to give me a clue why this is happening.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

There are two things you can try.
    1. Move the file com.apple.mail.plist from your ~user/Library/Preferences folder to the desktop and relaunch Mail. If that's cured the problem, delete the Preferences file you moved to the desktop, otherwise move it back again overwriting the new one Mail just created.
    2. Try reinstalling Mail from your Install DVD - this only reinstalls the app itself not the mailboxes, but take a backup of them first, just to be on the safe side.

  • Emails missing from Mail - can't access backups from Time Machine

To my dismay both of my gmail accounts through the mail client will only show me emails from the last 30 days. I went to check gmail through Safari and the same story, I'm locked out of emails from before the last 30 days. This is not only on my Mac, but also on my iPad and iPhone.
I attempted to go into Time Machine and do a restore, but the same thing is happening and I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be. For some reason even when Time Machine pulls up my email backups I can see stuff from every year but 2013 and the beginning of 2014. It starts populating the backup to show me my emails, but nothing appears and I know those emails have to exist somewhere.
Does anyone know if this is some kind of code error that caused this, or if there is anyway to get around it? Having an entire year's worth of emails missing is really problematic for me as you can expect. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

  • "copy to folder" for emails missing from latest Ns...

As already mentioned elsewhere, there are a lot of user complaints about this basic feature missing from many Nseries phones (N95, N78, etc). Is Nokia listening and/or planning a firmware upgrade for symbian S60v3 phones?

To archive email to another folder, the only "workaround" seems to be to copy & paste the email text into an Active note. Active notes so that you can organize them in subfolders, but then you suffer from the slowness of the ActiveNotes app and not being able to search. Is there a way to add the Active notes folder to the standard search locations?
Anyone else out there having found a better workaround? I can't believe that Nokia messed this one up. It was standard on my E50, and apparently in some older Nseries phones too.
    Many thanx

When youi say Eject, the RAM copy of the Directory is written back to the drive. On a pen drive, this can take several seconds.
If you get too excited and don't wait those few seconds, the directory write will be incomplete, and the drive will lose its integrity or lose files or both.

  • Email Missing from the Verizon Web interface (2012 only)- Lucky I use Zoho

From 3/28 till 5/24 for the year 2012 I see no email in the verizon web interface. Total now is  about 150 emails, all from 5/25- today are fine, I also see older stuff. The point Since I went to verizon 4 years ago I have never used the web interface, I used to use outlook, then in July of 2011 I switched to ZOHO - and there I have all my mail.  In the period mentioned (3/28 till 5 /24 I did not make any changes, could someone have gotten into my account and deleted them ? I never share passwords and the trash is empty. Thanks J

  • Some emails missing from Mail InBox

All emails received in Mail, version 3.6 (936) between 6:57pm 8 August and 6:15pm 10 August (around 30 messages) have disappeared from my Inbox at some time in the afternoon of 10 August. (I don't suspect the timings are significant, I'm just being specific.) I did not delete them, accidentally or otherwise. They have not moved to any other folder. Account type is POP.
I have followed all recovery procedures listed at: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1907, but nothing has worked. The messages were still on my ISPs server so I have been able to retrieve them on my MacBook.
    Questions:
    • Is there any known reason for this problem?
    • Any way to prevent it recurring?
    • Is there some way I can retrieve the lost messages from my ISP into Mail on my iMac?
    • Is there any way to import only the missing messages into Mail on my iMac from Mail on my MacBook?
    • How can I inform Apple of this problem by email?

Ok....now when I reply to something from my Mail....my phone is sending another reply to the recipient...except blank. Grrrr.

  • Number of unopened emails missing from mail

I migrated to maverick and for some reason in apple mail, my email accounts in the "inbox" won't show me how many unopened messages I have. How can I fix that?

I tried this and now the emails that I did have (that were empty) have disappeared completely and replaced with email from 2011.  Any ideas what I should do now?

  • Email missing from folders

I have a few different accounts set up in apple mail.  One is from sbcglobal.net.    I have been moving some emails from that account into a folder for the account, and when I looked into later, I could tell it had too few emails in it.
When I went to the sbcglobal.net web mail page, and looked in the folder, all the mails are there.
I attempted the "synchonize sbcglobal.net" option, but nothing happened.
    Apple Mail seems unreliable now.
Is there something I need to do to get it to update.

  • Opened emails missing from Outlook

Each email that is open on my iPhone is missing when I access email in Outlook- Help!

Gmail is rarely if ever configured as POP3.  It should be configured as Exchange or IMAP and no issue exists.
For the POP3 account on your iPhone, there should be an advanced setting option for the account that will allow you to check the box to keep email on the server.
Frankly, if you have your Gmail account set up as POP3, I would delete it and re-add it as either IMAP or Exchange.  POP3 is an ancient standard that does not allow true syncing between the server and multiple clients.

  • Email missing from folder

This sounds like a dumb question but.. I have several folders set up in email. When I logged in yesterday all the emails in one folder were missing, but all other emails in other folders were ok. Has anyone else had this problem, or to anyone at BT is there a solution?
    Many thanks,
    James

    James
    Don't worry.....are you using outlook?
If so I think there is a little known problem.
Someone has introduced a limit of 200 emails per folder on the sync between outlook and the BT web servers.  So when you sync, the folders drain until you've only 200 emails left - in my case the 200 oldest.  Some folders still look perfectly OK - because they had less than 200 originally.  This looks like a classic virus behaviour, but thankfully it's not.
To see if this is the case, show the size your folders in Outlook and the problem stands out.
I spent 7 hours on Friday looking for my 'lost' emails before I discovered they are still all there on BT webmail.  In fact they all reappeared on outlook over the weekend, before draining again this morning.  But even as I write, my folders are filling again!
BT are convinced it's not their problem, and that it's an issue with the latest Outlook update.
The behaviour of the limit appearing to come and go would suggest to me it's down to BT

  • Emails missing from drafts mailbox

If I use "Save as draft" when composing an email the drafts folder indicates that it contains 1 email. However when I click on that folder it is an empty list. The only way I can access the email is to search all mailboxes (eg search for the subject line of the draft email). The draft email appears in the search results.
I have tried rebuilding the drafts mailbox but it has not changed anything.

The emails are coming in, but they disappear after they have been moved to the folder
So you have sort of rules to organize your mails by moving them to different folders? Does this happen to all clients?
As suggested by DJ above, please check your view/filter settings first:
    Outlook 2007
Reset view; View-> Current View-> Customize Current View…-> button Reset Current View
    Outlook 2010/2013
Reset view; tab View-> button Reset View
Please have a try and feel free to post back with any findings.

  • There is a email missing from one of my accounts. How do I find or recover it?

I can not find a message that I received about a week ago. I can find a reply I sent in regards to the email, but I can not find the original sent to me. Any ideas on how to go about recovering it?
I searched using the senders email name but no luck? If I somehow deleted it, is there a way to still find it?
    Thanks Dave

Starting with the simplest, try checking in the Deleted/Trash folder in thunderbird. If it was not found there, you can check the web interface if it still remains there (depending on the provider and your thunderbird settings).

  • Emails missed from outlook

  • Why are my emails missing from my inbox?

Hi everyone. I have a hotmail account that I have synchronized with my iPad, and it has worked very well for several months now. Today when i access my inbox via the 'Mail' icon on my iPad, the inbox is empty - it shows none of the messages i have had there all this time. When i log into hotmail via a browser on another machine, everything appears normal. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Massive amounts of email missing

I keep basically all of my email, and I've recently noticed that there are entire years of email missing from the folder I created to archive my email. The biggest is a gap of three years where there is no email at all from that time period. What has happened to it? I have tried rebuilding the folder, no luck, then I tried breaking it up into smaller folders then rebuilding the original folder, no luck. Recent mail is missing also. Spotlight does not find it. Can anyone help?

But I need to keep them on my computer. Or, are you saying that, once they've been downloaded to the Powerbook G4 and iPhone 4, if I delete them on webmail, they'll disappear from my iPhone?
I think my experience has been that, if I delete my road runner webmail emails, it has no effect on e mail already downloaded to my MPB or iPhone 5s.
I read a nifty-sounding 'trick' for deleting piles of email on an iPhone, but the tipper said not to try it on massive amounts or it would freeze up the iPhone. You check the top email (which activates the 'Move' button so it becomes clickable). Then holding the Move button, unclick the top email and wait, holding down 'Move' (while, seemingly, nothing's happening). Once all the email has been moved, you are presented with a screen with the option to move the moved mail to trash. I'll attach a screenshot of that screen, showing what happened just now to all the (16) emails presently on this iPhone 5s...
