Email names are incorrect
Occasionally I will get emails from users who use a different email address for someone other than I do. Lets say that I have a user in my Address Book called Joe Smith with email @icloud.com, someone else also has Joe Smith but they email him at @gmail.com. If that person sends me and email with him also included in the message, I will see an email that has his name in the To field, not the email address. Naturally since I see his name, I think that the system has linked his name and email address together in my address book and giving me his name there. That is not the case, even though I don't have his gmail.com address in my system, it still shows his name like as if it was being passed through from the senders address book. If I do a reply to all, now his gmail address is stored as his name in my previous recipients and new future mails will try to go to the wrong address I desire for him... it goes to gmail, not iCloud like I programed in address book. This is until I remove him from previous recipients again and again. Is there any way to get mail to not pass though the "friendly" names from senders into mail. If I don't have them in my address book, I don't want just the name to show up. Including the email address in the field next to the name or something else to notify me that this address is not in your address book would be super helpful. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

The Defect: CSCti19329, indeed is cosmetic as long as the contacts in the contact list show correct "Available/Away/On The Phone" status as we utilize SIP Trunk for Presense Status.
This is cosmetic because of a DB schema change with CUCM 8.5. Even though CUPS 8.0(x) is supported with CCM 8.5, due to DB Schema change, that error message in generated in the System Troubleshooter.
If you were to upgrade to any version 8.5 or higher, that error message will go away.

The from names are incorrect or missing the full name, some from names have commas around them when others don't, some are coming through with 'test' in the subject line on my phone but if I view on my computer, 'test' is not showing..
I work in email marketing so this is extrmely important that the correct from names are displaying and certain text i.e 'test' are not showing on a live email sent to customers...This seems to be a problem with Yahoo! that started within the past few days. I am assuming that you are accessing your Yahoo! Mail through Safari. Until a fix is issued, you have two options -- (1) use the Mail app included in iOS, logging in with your Yahoo! account information or (2) when in Yahoo! Mail in Safari, click on your profile name/pic in the bottom left corner, choose Options, and then choose the last option, which displays your e-mail using the older classic version of Yahoo! Mail. It's not as pretty or easy to manuever around, but at least it shows the images in your e-mails, which is the most important thing. Both Apple and Yahoo! have been contacted about this issue, so hopefully a fix will be released soon.

Digital waveform channel names are incorrect
I create a task at runtime where the user selects which physical digital input channels to use and the names for each. I then sample these digital inputs and write the waveforms to a TDMS file. The file has the correct data, but only the first channel has the correct name. Attached is example code that shows the problem. What am I doing wrong? I do a similar setup for analog inputs and it works fine.

Did you try to delete the mail account, restart the phone and add the mail account again?

Some clot got my wfe an iphone for her 70th birthday. I have spent hours trying to sync it to my computer for emails. I get one message saying that my user name or password are incorrect and another saying that The POP account is already configured'. To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
When attempting to sync my new android phone (galaxy S4 to galaxy S5), my firefox profile name on firefox sync is incorrect by one letter. Instead of kokochako it reads kokocako. Im concerned because my name and password are the same ones i use to log in on my laptop and my previous smartphones. I am unable to sync my acct or make any changes to my profile name. I hit forgot password to reset, but since the email is incorrect Im not getting an email to change it. I havent changed my name ever and my password hasnt been changed in at least 6 months. It keeps saying name and pass are incorrect. Has my acct been hacked or compromised? All my info is still working on my laptop, just under the wrong email address, im scared...

Suddenly on both my iPhone and iPad I cannot access my AOL mail. It tells me my user name or password are incorrect. Yet I have no trouble accessing from other devices. This occurred randomly in the middle of the night. I'd done nothing different or unusual. I've tried re-starting both devices, tried deleting and re-installing my account information. Any suggestions?
Hmm... looks like this is an issue for that email provider for some reason.
A user in a bt.com forums recommends turning off Push Emails settings.

Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data > Turn Push Off.
Coudln't hurt to try it and see if the issue resolves itself. -

What file name, are old emails saved under in backups?
Time Machine, does not seem to operate properly, past the date when I clean installed Yosemite. My files are all there, but I can only find them by going into my drive, and either searching for the file in Time Machine, or searching for it in my backup drive. I cannot restore a mail file, by opening mail, and time machine. It works fine up until the date, when I installed Yosemite. I have done 2 different completely clean installs, and one using migration assistant, wt a multitude of problems. I am done wt doing that. My iMac is finally running smoothly, and I have managed to migrate everything back into my iMac, except for my old emails. I'm pretty sure that I could restore my emails, as long as I knew where there there supposed to be stored on my iMac. I could basically restore them, by either looking in my backup drive where they are before I installed Yosemite. What file name, are old Maverick emails saved under in backups?
The information viewed in Contacts is not located in a single file, nor a single directory.

This MIGHT be include all the files you need, but there might also be Preferences files needed from another directory.
Also, I migrated my data from an older OS X version (10.6.8) where the app was called Address Book. On brand new systems, it is called Contacts, and the correct directory might be named Contacts.
NOTE: Be sure to replace Macintosh HD below with the actual hard drive name if not Macintosh HD, and username below with the actual user's name...
Transfer all the files from Macintosh HD/Users/username/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/
That WILL INCLUDE each of these three subdirectories where the necessary files and data are stored:
Macintosh HD/Users/username/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/images
Macintosh HD/Users/username/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/Metadata

My iPhone V will not connect to a Microsoft Exchange server. It says that the User Name or Password are incorrect even though they're not and I can log on directly to Exchange with the same parameters using the web browser.
I bought the phone when it came out last October. The connection did not work at first, then started without warning in December. It worked perfectly for 2 months then stopped again when IOS 6.1.2 was Installed.
Help please!I have forwarded these questions about the version of Exchange server that is being used and whether Microsoft host the mai themselves to the IT Dept but I will not get a reply from them until tomorrow.
In the meantime I have also tried:
Deleting and re-creating the account AGAIN!
And re-setting the phone (recommended as a solution to a similar problem with an iPad in another forum.
But please remember that:
The phone would not connect for 2 months after I bought it
Then started working unexpectedly in December
Then stopped working again when IOS 6.1.2. was installed
Also why am I the only person affected by this when colleagues with iPhone 3s and 4s who use the same mail system are not (I am still trying to find one with an iPhone V to see if their's works).
Like I said I think that there must be a fault, either with my own phone or with iPhone Vs in general. -
I am trying to set up my new Google mail email address on my iPhone 3GS but it keeps throwing up a message saying that the username or password are incorrect. I have checked and they are definitely right, why is it telling me this?!
Check capitalization. The password is certainly case-senstive, and your username/email address might be as well. In the case of the password, you must get it exactly right. In the case of the username/email address, you can usually enter it as all lower case. Also, try your username with the @gmail.com suffix; your username might not be accepted without it.

I am trying to deauthorize my audible account. It says the user name and/or password are incorrect after I had just deauthorized the computer using the same user name and password and logging in to post this. They should be the same password correct?
Deauthorize Audible Account... always appears as a menu selection, even if you deauthorized Audible or never even had an account.
Audible is a different account from iTunes and does not require the same username / password. -

Does anybody else see where email attachments are now always auto-download on all devices. The policy option was phased out in 5.0 but the default at that time was no (to auto-download). Now they all auto-download.
1. PDF will not display because they must stay as attachment to render on Blackberry device. Says
“This attachment type cannot be viewed on your device”
2. Phone messages attached as voicemail.wav - first one works, but since no longer the "Preview" option second says "Fielname exists - Rename?" Some devcies you can save and go back - others you can't.Surely there's an expert on this forum who can help?
