Email not working well – is it Safari?

Hi –
I'm not sure if anyone else is still having problems with iCloud's email but I am. Whenever I leave my email open in Safari for a period of time, it never refreshes itself or picks up email without me having to refresh the screen or reset the browser and log back in again. In addition, I regularly get an error message saying there's been an error and I should try again later.
In contrast and a little off topic but I feel it's relevant, I bought someone a gift of a Google Nexus 7 tablet and needed to set it up for them. Having never used Android before, I was surprised how easy it was to log in and set everything up using a GMail account. In fact the experience was similar to Apple's ease of use with iCloud/MobileMe log-ins. But where GMail works is it's email always seems to be on, pushing emails as soon as they arrive, in a non-graphic rich environment, suited to typing emails and adding large attachments very quickly without some of the sluggishness of Apple's version.
Anyway, I couldn't work out whether this was iCloud still after all this time – or is it the Safari browser which I've had issues with before. Shouldn't they both be compatible? Am I the only one finding this an issue?

Thank you for your time Woody. Recently the Mac seems to freeze a lot, seemingly due to a problem with the airport, especially if the computer is inactive for anything more than a few minutes. Then yesterday I suddenly couldn't send or receive messages so I got in touch with my server and they reconfigured the mail account. I can now receive messages but can't send them, always getting a timed out message when I try to send an email. I phoned the server again and they said it must be a problem with Mail as we tried sending a message online from the server's webpage and it worked fine, so they suggested I reinstall Mail. So hence my original question. Sorry for the rambling! I'm not very computer minded.

The pop ups are malware. It's not necessary to reinstall Safari.

(A) Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data.
(B) Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.

(1) You say you did the symbolic link. I will assume this is set correctly; it's very important that it is.
(2) I don't know what you mean by "Been feeding the [email protected] for several weeks now, 700 emails each day at least." After the initial training period, SpamAssassin doesn't learn from mail it has already processed correctly. At this point, you only need to teach SpamAssassin when it is wrong. [email protected] should only be getting spam that is being passed as clean. Likewise, [email protected] should only be getting legitimate mail that is being flagged as junk. You are redirecting mail to both [email protected] and [email protected] ... right? SpamAssassin needs both.
(3) Next, as I said before, you need to implement those "Frontline spam defense for Mac OS X Server." Once you have that done and issue "postfix reload" you can look at your SMTP log in Server Admin and watch as Postfix blocks one piece of junk mail after another. It's kind of cool.
(4) Add some SARE rules:

There are other things you can do, and you'll find differing opinions about such things. In general, I think implementing the "Frontline spam defense for Mac OS X Server" and adding the SARE rules will help a lot. Good luck!

Audition CS5.5 is not working well with Microsoft Mouse "smooth scrolling" feature

I'm testing with the Audition CS5.5 and found that the mouse scrolling (I use it mainly for zoom, zooming in and out to see the waveform) is just not working well and sluggish, and finally I figured out it somewhat related to the "smooth scrolling" of Microsoft Mouse. Anyone with the same problem? In fact the scrolling is working very well for Audition 3.0.1, I don't know why it fail for CS5.5.

The trial version is the same as the full version except
for the 30 day limitation.
I think on windows xp you need sp3 for cs5 to work as expected.

After many test, I still can not finger out what is the real reasons casued this exception in HP-UX.
The possible risk is JES 2005Q4 requires some software and hp-ux bundles patches before install JES, but I can NOT find the exact version of them from hp web site, and use corresponding higher version to release them.

Keynote 6.5 is stable and reliable under Yosemite for most users.
As with all new operating systems and applications, a small number of users find a few problems.
Copy and pasting text from and into Keynote from all the applications I have, work perfectly: the applications include; Safari, Mail, Word, PowerPoint, excel, Pages, Numbers, iMovie, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
If you want to place graphics into Keynote, use one of the following methods:
Insert > Coose
click the media button on an image placehoder
click the media button on the tool bar
drag and drop from a Finder window

Deleted the SMTP setting
Recreated the SMTP using the same settings
Able to send emails now

You don't. Apps are permanently tied to the ID used to purchase them. Instead of creating a new ID, change the primary email address on your existing ID.

ShowHide onclick not working in Firefox nor Safari

I have a real estate site that's been up for a while. The floor plans showHide is now not working in Firefox nor Safari (still works in IE). I would swear that it previously was working (6 months ago?).
I'm sure I have a coding error someplace -- or have upgrades in the browsers disallowed the showHide script? I'd rather not have to completely rewrite the page if I don't have to, so a quick fix would be preferable to having to rewrite the entire page.
The page is a simple 3-layer: the default visible layer is a plain site plan. Imagemap showHide on mouseover create a mouse-over effect on each of the units; that mouseover aspect works properly in all browsers (it's showing and hiding any of 4 images depending on where the mouse is on the page). What is not working is the onClick hot spot on each of the highlight images; the blank a=href"" comes up rather than the onClick... desitination. Make sense?
I tried both using the onClick within an <a> tag and on the image iteself (no <a> tag). Neither works (except, again, in IE).
I'm still on CS3; perhaps that's the issue? I've been surfing to see if my script is outdated but unable to find anything useful, so thought I'd try this forum. In my header, this is the FUNCTION that Dreamweaver put in. Is v9.0 current?

This is a very unusual attempt. You have both an anchor tag wrapping the image, AND hotspots on the image. I'm not surprised you are finding a conflict between those two.

This looks like an emerging issue with YouTube. But, to make sure:
1) Quit safari (command + q with it open)
2) Open finder. Click on "go" on the top menu bar, then click on "go to folder." In the prompt that comes up, type in:
~/library
3) Pull the caches folder to the trash. This will ask for your password
4) Open Safari. Click "Safari" by the Apple logo, then click "reset safari." Make sure everything is selected, then reset safari.
5) Try again.

If you are referring to online gaming, then PS3 like all non-apple devices uses upnp to open ports.
Apple uses NAT-PMP to open ports.. East and West.. never the twain shall meet.
If it is internal wireless issues.. that is different.. airport should be just like any other wireless router.
If you tell us the issue we have more hope to help.
