Email Notification as Outlook Reminder

Our Client uses Outlook as the email Client and wants to have reminders set on outlook automatically for trainings scheduled in OLM.
I would like to know if it is possible to send email notifications in a way that they would be considered as reminders on outlook.

The sender file adapter requires a corresponding sender agreement with or without BPM.  Interface determination will be required as well.  In the non-bpm case you'll have two - one for the IDoc interface and one for the mail interface.

In the non-bpm case, you'll have one receiver determination with two receivers.  Once you list your two receivers and save, you'll see bottom window updated to enter/create corresponding interface determinations and receiver agreements.

I agree with you, otherwise, the mail is really just telling you the IDoc has been sent or in process with no information on the result.

    We recently upgraded from SRM 4.0 to 7.0. We used RSWUWFMLEC to extract approval work items and send email notifications to Outlook. Can we use same RSWUWFMLEC or is there a different program/process for this in SRM 7.0. For some reason RSWUWFMLEC is not working for SRM 7.0 approval work items.

    Hello All,
    We are using Siebel 7.8 and have a requirement wherein we need to send out System Generated Emails through Siebel at specific intervals of an SR Date Field. The email client that users use is Microsoft Outlook and the requirement is to send a System Generated Email with an Reminder that should automatically pop up using Outlook's reminder functionality.
    I have searched through multiple posts and websites but all I can come across is related to sending emails. Does anyone have any experience and know how on sending an email through Siebel Systems which automatically provides an Outlook reminder.

    Thanks a lot for your input. The requirement that we are having is slightly different. The users use Internet Explorer directly to access Siebel interface and do not have anything installed on their systems as such.
    Based on a date field for eg Due Date, we need to trigger auto generated emails from Siebel which will pop up on the user's email client as a Reminder. We are already sending in the hyperlink to the Siebel record as a part of the email and users can directly navigate to Siebel record from the email. Its just that something that is possible through emails sent through Outlook which they want to be done through Siebel generated emails as well.
    From my investigations, what I found that the Reminder is pretty specific to Outlook program and there is no generic standard across different email clients. Thus I am having a feeling that this feature may not be directly possible through Outlook. I will keep on investigating further though. At worst I will install something like Wireshark to intercept the exact content of email that Outlook sends out and if its not too much work put that in Siebel.

  • How to get response of Workflow Notification Email from MS Outlook Express.

    Hi All,
    I have two questions:
    1. Our business users had a requirement to approve or reject the Workflow Notification Emails form their Email account on MS Outlook Express. When they perform action from MS Outlook Express it sends email to wfmailer but no action perform in aplication. The notification inbox in application shows this notification as OPEN notification and the requested function also shows 'Waiting for Approval'.
    2. I need to hide Request Information button/link from the email notification send through Workflow mailer to user. There are three actions button available in email notification Apprve, Reject and Request Information. I need to have only two button Approve and Reject. How to hide Request Information button.
    If any one have idea regarding my questions please hlep.

  • Is it possible to disable - Outlook Calendar Email Notifications?

    Hi all, hope you are well.
    I have recently had a query from a PA to an MD where she makes a change to an appointment in his calendar even a simple edit, he obviously receives notification of this change. I have looked pretty much all over and am not familiar with such a function but
    is anyone aware if it possible to disable this function as that is what they are asking for to happen.
    So she manages his calendar and when she makes changes he receives the email notification, the question is simply is anyone aware of a way to disable this function? I'm of the opinion that if there is it will be a global rather than explicit function.
    The other option I thought was to setup a rule in Outlook to delete such notifications I guess?
    EXCHANGE 2010 AND OUTLOOK 2010 are in play here
    Any help greatly appreciated.

    As per the information and details provided by you, to disable Outlook calendar, email notification, please follow these steps: -
    Step 1: - Open the
    Outlook Options menu (File-Options).
    Step 2: - Click the
    “Mail” tab.
    Step 3: - Adjust your notification settings under the
    Message arrival section. You may disable all notifications, or pick and choose from the available settings.
    Step 4: -
    Desktop Alert Settings allow you to adjust the timing and transparency of the pop-up alert.
    Step 5: - Click
    OK when complete.

    We have a policies document library with 10 columns out of which "Policy Owner" and "Expiry Date" are the two columns.
       1. The requirement is to send two times email notification to the document owner
        a. Before One month of expiry date and
        b. Before one week of expiry date
       2. I have to create a view which should show the policy documents which are going to expire in one month comparing with "Expiry Date" coulumn

    This can be achieved using SPD workflow. create one more column which will be updated once monthly reminder email sent. and the other email will send once that column set to Yes or some value.
    Create a workflow variable so with reference to expiry date it will be pause after first reminder and send another reminder before a week

  • Send approval email notification to Lotusnotes/Outlook

    Hi all,
    Our requirement here is to send a confirmation e-mail to the requisition creator once their requisition has been approved by the requisition approver.
    So far, we have been only able to send this message to the requisition creatoru2019s SAP Inbox, however, our requirement is to send it to their e-mail address (i.e. outlook / lotus notes).  We understand that if we set-up this confirmation message as a work-item (i.e. not an SAP Inbox message), then we could use the standard Workflow e-mail notifications (SWNCONFIG) to send the e-mail to the requisition creator.  We want to know if it is possible to send an e-mail from the workflow system without setting this up as a work-item (if we set it up as a work-item, then we are forced to have a decision, and a decision is not relevant here).

    Hi Pavan,
    The note you mentioned talks about the integration of SAP and lotus notes. But, as we are in ECC5.0, we dont want to do the lotus notes integration.
    For, now I have setup the forwarding email functionality in SO13 and the issues has been resolved.
    I am using SO10 setup to send email notifications to lotusnotes email ID and SWNCONFIG to send workitems to lotusnotes email ID. Issue resolved for now.
    Still looking for some more options to resolve the issue.

  • Configuring SMTP Email Notification on WSUS server When using Outlook 365

    We have a SMTP relay set up on a different server. I have tried to set up email notifications from WSUS server. I get the following error when trying to test. We are using Outlook 365. I've tried using ports 25 and 587 respectively. Any ides? Thanks in advance!

    If you look at RFC821 (Request For Comments memo 821 describes the SMTP specifications), you'll see that the sender and recipient needs to be supplied in the format +<[email protected]>+, e.g. +<[email protected]>+.
    I have found that not all SMTP servers are equal in this regard. Some may insist on the brackets around the address, some may not.
    You need to confirm the format of the addresses you use in the "+MAIL FROM+" and "+RCPT TO+" commands.. and ensure that these formats are accepted by your SMTP server - and if not, change your code to use an acceptable format.
    The easiest way to do this is using telnet - and interacting directly and manually with the server. SMTP is a clear text protocol and easy to use manually. Try it. It is the best way to test SMTP interaction and validate the approach and SMTP commands and arguments used by your code.

  • Oracle iLearning 5.0 on Windows and email notifications issue

    Hi!
    We are upgrading from iLearning 4.3 to iLearning 5.0 on Windows 2000 server and I have a question related to that.
    iLearning 5.0 is certified for Windows.
    The accompanying release.txt states that:
    --'Email', 'Email and Web' notifications options for Learner Rating and Authorized Enrollment/Unenrollment are not available on Windows platforms. Only web-based notifications should be used.
    Through a Technical Assistance request (TAR Number 4439000.992 ) I've found that this problem is due to the use of Workflow 2.6.2 stand-alone which requires sendmail, which is not available on Windows.
    This worries me because I want the system to be able to:
    * notify admin when authorization is needed for enrollment
    * notify course participants about changes or a cancelled course.
    * Certification reminder and expiration
    * Assessment submission
    * Notification to all learners currently enrolled in an offering
    The suggested workaround from Metalink is to use a Unix/linux server.
    Metalink suggestion:
    "you can set up a notification mailer on UNIX to work with stand-alone Workflow
    hosted on Windows. The following MetaLink article is a step-by-step guide on how

    This would be useful if UNIX was an option for me. It is not.
    I have some questions:
    1)Can I use WorkFlow 2.6.3.5 on windows with iLearning 5.0?
    I know Workflow 2.6.3.5 is working with MS Exchange.
    2)Can I use sendmail in some form or shape?
    IIS 5.0 (or 4.0) has a mail gateway that can be utilized by a sendmail program.

    There are a couple of patches available that allow a customer to upgrade their Oracle iLearning database to 10g and with that, upgrade Oracle Workflow to version 2.6.3 which supports email notifications through workflow on windows.

  • Getting double notifications for Outlook 2013 on Windows 8.1 pro

    Hi,
    I have Outlook 2013 installed on windows 8.1 pro 64bit. I am having an issue with outlook notifications, I am getting 2 notifications for each mail that I receive.
    I tried searching for the issue and found that I have desktop alerts enabled in Outlook settings and also windows 8 notifications for outlook in PC settings. Both these options generate their own notifications, so I get 2 notifications for each mail.
    When I turned off outlook notifications in PC settings, both the notifications stopped. Then I disabled desktop alerts from outlook settings and started getting only one notification.
    The issue is that both these notification look a bit different, outlook desktop alerts also show sender's photo which I prefer and I also have some outlook rules configured to show desktop alerts for only certain mails. So I want the desktop alerts to continue
    and stop standard windows 8 notifications for outlook.
    Does anyone know how to do that?

    Hi,
    As far as I know, Outlook email notifications are only shown in Window 8.1 if notifications are enabled in both Outlook and Windows.
    I suspect the rules are causing this double notification issue.
    You may export all the rules for backup, then start Outlook with the switch "/cleanrules":
    Win key + R, type "outlook.exe /cleanrules" in the blank box, press Enter.
    Check if the issue persists.
    If the issue is gone after running Outlook with "/cleanrules", then let's import these rules back to check the result.
    If the issue is back again, please check if any rules trigger the notification twice, use "stop processing more rules" as you need to stop the emails triggering more than one rule.

  • Email Notification Syntax Error

    I'm having trouble getting Email Notification working using Motion Detection with WebCam Centre.
    Updated to .7.02 but still not working.
    The problem seems to be the SMTP server setting. When I try and send the test email I get this syntax error:
    Syntax error in 'From' header: malformed address: [my_email@my_domain.com]\n may not follow my_email@my_domain.com: failing address is: my_email@my_domain.com[my_email@my_domain.com]
    N.B. I've changed the lesser than & greater than characters in above error to square brackets because the forum warned me it was invalid HTML.
    I've no idea why it puts \n on the end of my email address, but I'm informed it's a newline character?
    The mail server I use doesn't require authentication. I'm using the same SMTP server setting which works fine in Thunderbird or Outlook Express.
    If I disable the router/modem and use a dial-up modem with a different ISPs 0845 PAYG, with different SMTP server setting, I can sent the test email successfully.
    If I use my ADSL providers 0845 number with their SMTP server setting then it fails. Which suggests the software with WebCam Centre doesn't play ball with my ISPs SMTP server, or it's something to do with the router modem, a Netgear DG834 wired..

    I wasn't thinking straight when I said it could be my router/modem. It's unlikely to be my router/modem, as I still get the error when using the dial-up account given with my ISP. So it must be their SMTP server or the WebCam software.

  • Email notification for MeetingPlace not being received

    Client has MeetingPlace 7.1.1 installed. Outlook email notification for MeetingPlace stopped working.
    Problem symptom:  When users try to schedule a meeting from web server page, both scheduler and invitee do not receive email notifcaiton in their email account.  But email notification for MeetingPlace works when users schedule meeting from MeetingPlace for Outlook Plug-in regardlessly.
    I've run a test with client, meeting creation is successful. But as soon as user finishs creation meeting, email notification is "Queued for delivery" in Email Notification Report in MeetingPlace App Admin page. I checked all possible settings in MeetingPlace Administration page, nothing looks wrong - correct email address account and type in user profile; SMTP server is properly configured and passes tha test; SMTP server is up and runnin. 
    I'm stumped after deep research online, did not go anywhere. Can someone point out where could possible go wrong and how to fix this issue??

    Email notification works differently depending on where the scheduling is done. When done from Outlook your Outlook client sends the request directly to Exchange. When scheduling from the web the invite is held in a mailbox on the Application Server and periodically the system tries to send the email to its mailbox on Exchange.  Since the issues is with meetings scheduled via the web interface there is an issue with MP talking to Exchange.  I assume the users scheduling from the web have Outlook selected in their profile. This is the first place to check. Next I would look at the Outlook settings in MP. Make sure the MP mailbox is still in Exchange and that the user name and password is correct for the Exchange mailbox. This is usually where the issue is. Also make sure that SSL has not become a requirement to talk with Exchange.
