Email notification - how to change?

I have a data only 8330 and can't figure out how to change the email notification sound.  Right now, all it does is vibrate.  I was hoping I could mess around with it a bit and get it to ping or something.  Also, is there a way to assign a different sound to different email accounts?  Thanks in advance!!

welcme to the frums!
I just wanted to add to what the guys above have already said. It is a fellow blackberrian wrote this on a post (Jsanders)
1. Select the Profiles icon
2. A box will appear where you can quick select between Loud, Vibrate, Quiet, Normal, Phone Only, and Off. If you wish to quick change the device profiles then select the one you want and exit out.
3. If you want to edit the tones assigned to the device applications then select the last option, Advanced
(some older models and OS 4.1 and below will not have the "Advanced" step--if Advanced is not present go directly to Step 4 below).
4. Select the profile you wish to edit. (Loud, Vibrate, Quiet, Normal (default), Phone Only, Off)
Note: on the 8100, 8800, and 8300 models: Do not click the trackball. Instead, click the menu key to the left of the trackball).
Note: The profile that is in use will say: (Active)
5. You will now see a list of all applications that can have a tone assigned (Browser, Calendar, Level 1 Messages, Messages ([email protected]), Messenger, MMS, Phone, SMS, Task ect..)
6. Select the application you wish to edit the tone / notification for
7. You can now edit Out of Holster and In Holster tones/ notifications.
a) Select between: None, Tone, Vibrate, Vibrate+Tone
b) Select the Tune you wish to use
c) Select Volume (options are Mute, Low, Medium, High, Escalating)
d) Select Number of Beeps (options are 1, 2, 3)
e) Select Repeat Notification (options are None, LED Flashing)
f) If set to Vibrate or Vibrate+Tone then select Number of Vibrations (options are 1, 2, 3)
8. Repeat a-e for each of the desired applications listed in 5 above

  • TS4000 How to stop email notifications of calendar changes

Every time I edit an event on a shared icloud calendar it sends emails notifying me of the change.  How do I stop these?

as i wrote there Re: How do you stop receiving notifications about updated calendar events?:
to NOT get email notification about updated events from a shared calendar you subscribed to you have to uncheck "events affect availability" in that calendars "info" (mac os X.7 and X.8: iCal —> calendars dropdown —> right click on the subscribed calendar —> choose "get info" from the context-menu —> uncheck "events affect availability")

  • Email Notification need anyone changes the PCD content..

    Hello,
Can someone give me a solution for this issue.
An email should be sent to a person if someone has changed the PCD content. Can be an iveiw property, role property, workset property etc,.
Or if any thing is created or modified in PCD i should get an email notification that so and so content has been modified by so and so person.
    Regards,

    Hello Krishna,
As far as regarding to your question there is no built in functionality with portal. Email notification for subscription and notification service can be configured in the portal as:
Sys admin - System Configuration - Knowledge Management-Content Management - Utilities-channels - email channels  by this you can configure the communication channels available in the portal. However this is used to send information to the users.
Also the email notifications are used in the User Management where the user profile changes can be tracked by the Administrator, similarly for tasks and notification's we can configure the UWL for the email communication.

In these there are threads which explain you some concepts of Collaboration rooms by which you can track the details of PCD and also like the System landscape monitoring.
I hope this information would give you an idea as of how email channel could be used in portal where in as specific to your question i think we need to build an application and try integrate it with portal to test it.

  • Email notifications on attribute change

Hi, I have an oracle table from which some fields are periodically exported to Sun Identity Manager accounts attributes through reconciliation. The thing is I need to configure IdM to send email notifications only when some attributes in the oracle table are changed (natively). Could someone point me out on how to do that?

I had exactly the very same challenge in IDM 8.0.0.5.
My solution was to set an attribute "doAdditionalNotification" to "true" in my user form.
I changed the "update user" workflow and added an activity/action where I send out the additional notification if my flag is set.
Any more elegant solutions (e.g. utilization of the Notifications attribute) are very much apprechiated.

  • Email Notification Task - Owner change

I need some help with this workflow. On Activity based record type and When new record saved trigger event.
    JoinFieldValue('<ServiceRequest>',[<ServiceRequestId>],'<Type>') = LookupValue("SR_TYPE", "FSR") AND(PRE('<Owner>') <> [<Owner>]) AND (PRE('<Owner>') IS NOT NULL).
Basically I am trying to send an email notification when the task on a service request is assigned to a different user.
    Thanks

Try setting up your workflow in a more simplified way.
    Record type: Activity
Trigger Event: When modified record saved
    Workflow condition rule: [<OwnerId>]<>PRE('<OwnerId>')
    then set up your email

  • Extended Notifications: how to change the URL link

    Hello,
We are on ECC6. We use Extended Notifications to alert users to the presence of new workitems, but when they click on the link to execute the workitem, they're presented with the login screen.
We have been able to send emails from workflow which contain a link that does not ask for a login so I know which URL to use. The problem is, how can you set the URL in Extended Notifications? How does it decide which URL to use? I've tried changing a few General Settings in SWNCONFIG, none of them made a difference.
Any hints, tips, suggestions would be appreciated.
    regards

    Hi Rick,
I wrote my own notification handler to solved an link issue (wanted to point to a specific iView url). I changed the notification handler via Category and double clicking on the category:
    Scenario                        WORKFLOW
    Category                        ZCATEGORY
    Description                    Adobe Administrator
    Requested Reliability          0 Undefined
Collective Message             A Grouping with Othe
    Notification Priority          5 Medium
                                   Delete After Send
    Category Handler               CL_SWN_CATEGORY
    Notification Handler           ZCL_SWN_NOTIF_WF
    Handler for User               CL_SWN_USER_STD
Have a look at some of the methods:
    LOAD_INSTANCE_WA
    ADD_LINKS_ACTION
    ADD_LINK_ACTION_DISPLAY
    ADD_LINK_ACTION_EXECUTE
    ADD_LINK_ACTION_DECISION
    CREATE_ACTION_ATTACHMENT
    CREATE_INBOX_ATTACHMENT
Hope it helps you understand how the link is created.

  • Email Notification for ownership change

For any list or library under “List SettingsàAdvanced
Settings” there is an option to select whether to “Send e-mail notification when ownership is assigned”
Setting this option from CSOM is missing. This is what I have tried -
I am working with remote provisioning pattern to provision the site and required lists
List is provisioned using CSOM (Managed .Net) via a Provider Hosted App that is hosted as Azure Web Site
In order to set the value for “Send e-mail notification when ownership is assigned” there is no property exposed via CSOM
    Am I missing something?

My friend and I share an iCal calendar through iCloud.  Until recently, we received email notificiations anytime either of us made changes to exisiting calendar events or added new items to the calendar.  Does anyone know why these email notificiations stopped?

iCloud was experiencing problems with this a couple of days ago, where many users with shared calendars were getting email notifications even though their iCloud settings did not select to receive them.  Perhaps when they fixed this problem it reverted your settings to not receive email notifications.  Got to iCloud and check your setting for this.  If it still look correct, try turning off email notifications, save the change, then turn them back on again and save the change again.

  • How do you control Adobe Forum email notifications?

How can I control the email notification process which automatically sends a copy of all replies to each thread in which I am participating?
Right now I have taken the process for granted, letting it do it own thing, and am automatically getting email notification for all the threads in which
I am participating. That is OK with me.
Due to questions on email notification how to that I have received from others...
How would I go about setting up the process so that I could pick and choose which thread replies should be send to me by
email notification? Is there a thread subscription preference somewhere?
And, how do I turn on and off email notification altogether if I wanted to do that?
    Thank you.

Click your avatar picture near the upper right corner (slightly to the left of the pencil) and select PREFERENCES then set all Email Preferences to OFF and click Save at the bottom left
    AND
Another new "feature" is that Jive7 is oriented toward social networking... so every time you start or reply to a message you are automatically added to a FOLLOW list... meaning you receive a notification of every subsequent message in that thread
Click the FOLLOW link at the upper right and select STOP FOLLOWING... and don't click the link again to check your status, as you will then be added to the CONNECTIONS STREAM and you will have to uncheck that option as well
And, after you post in a message thread and select Stop Following, you need to do it all over again the next time you add a reply to the same message thread, since EVERY POST adds you to the automatic Follow list

  • Receiving email notification of port state changes

    Hello
    I have a small SAN comprising 4 x MDS9509's and a Fabric Manager Server.
The FMS is set to email fabric events, but it doesn't email on port state changes i.e. IF_DOWN_LINK_FAILURE and IF_UP. I'm assuming this is because they are not actual fabric changes.
What is the best way for me to be able to receive email notification of these changes?
    Thanks
    Steven

    You can use callhome
    MDS(config)# ip domain-lookup

Sounds like a question to be asked in the Workflow forum or in the forum related to the application that is running the email. See the 'more' category under Database
