Email notifications not working correctly in Mavericks

Is anyone else suffering from problems with their email notifications in Mavericks? I have got a mid 2011 21.5 " iMac which previously had Mountain Lion and before I updated I would get every single email notification without fail. Since I I updated to Mavericks though they generally do not work and I am lucky if I see even 1 notification per day. This includes iCloud, Gmail and 5 private company pop3 accounts. I have tried deactivating the accounts in system preferences and then activiating the accounts again in the Mail app but it hasn't changed anything.
I am aware that the Mail app is far from perfect with various problems and I read today on another website that Apple are currently testing a new build of Mail which I hope will be made available soon. The Mail app is my only big problem with Mavericks so far and I am generally happy (apart from missing a very useful "window on top" feature for FaceTime which needs to be added in the same it is already available in Skype!).

I have been waiting for a response on this issue since yesterday. I work in a consulting agency, and it is prudent that my mail app work correctly on my macbook pro! I get at most, 1  notification per day if I'm lucky. I can't keep opening the app to make sure I have mail! Someone help us! (Not to sound desperate)

  • "Receive Email Notifications" not working correctly?

Not a Snow Leopard question, but I don't know where else to post this.
I seem to be receiving email notifications for * every * topic in this forum.  My email notification preferences are set for only limited notifications -- i.e., threads I want to follow.
Since I don't want to turn notifications completely 'off,' how do I get Apple to correct this?
    Thanks.

There is a Discussions topic, but I'm not sure where it's at.
In the forums, click on your name; that will take you to your profile.
Click on Edit Preferences in the "Actions" box on the right side of the page.
Click on the "Email Notification Preferences" tab and set them up how you'd like.
    Save the preferences.
Then, go back to the first page of your profile (click on you name, again)
    Click on Manage Email Notifications.
Select all by clicking the Checkbox in the header.
    Delete them all.

  • Email pushing not working correctly for office email - 3 seperate devices/carriers

We switched email hosts several months ago and since our email pushing has not worked correctly. Our host/IT guy has been very unwilling to help me through this (I get the pleasure of being the in-house IT source)
I personally am on AT&T have no problems with the other 3 emails I have set up on my blackberry. However I receive my work account one time a day at roughly 6:15. Another user is on Alltel and he receives spotty emails throughout the day, but his gmail account comes through instantly. The third user is on nextel and he receives his 2-3 times per day.
I began to think this was an email host issue since the three of us are all on different carriers, until I found out a fourth user, also on nextel, receives his emails fine.
Users 1-3 are on Outlook 07 on various versions of the Curve. We have all our messages to stay on the server.
User 4 is on the older nextel blackberry push to talk, and is not on outlook.
We do not have an exchange server. Our emails were all set up through our devices.
Any suggestions? The answers I have received through our carriers is to make sure that our messages are set to be left on the server. Everyone else at the office has given up - but for me this is the quest for the Holy Grail.......I'm determined find the answer!
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Potential solution for windows for a side-by-side install. This works for me.
To setup a firefox install side by side so that links from external programs (like email) can open (so you don't get a "Firefox is already running but is not responding" message) do the following.
The solution entails the use of the -no-remote switch. Don't use it for the default browser. Use it for the non default browser.
I'll use firefox 3.6 and firefox 4.0 as examples but this should work for future versions.
+ Install firefox 3.6 and Firefox 4.0 in different directories. Eg.
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 4\firefox.exe
+ Open profile manager. Start > Run : firefox.exe -ProfileManager
+ In profile manager create Two Profiles.
    firefox3.6
    firefox4
+ In profile manager select firefox 4 as your default (assuming you want to default to the latest) and tick "Don't ask at startup"
    + Create two windows shortcuts.
    * General: Mozilla Firefox 4 (default). Shortcut > Target: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 4\firefox.exe". Shortcut > Start In: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 4"
    * General: Mozilla Firefox 3.6. Shortcut > Target: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p firefox3.6 -no-remote. Shortcut > Start In: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox"
That's it. Links from external programs should now open in your default browser.

  • Email Notification not working Oracle BPEL 10.1.3.1.0

I'm not able to send out email notification using Email process activity from Component Palette.
These are the steps that I've followed:
    1. Email/SMTP server configuration details entered in the <SOA_oracle_home>\bpel\system\services\config\ns_emails.xml.
    2. Change the value for EmailAccounts tag NotificationMode = "Email"
    3. restarted JDeveloper and add Email process activity to the bpel process diagram
    4. Entered From Account (EmailAccount Name), To, CC, Reply To, Subject, Body in the Email activity dialog box.
    5. Saved and deployed BPEL process.
When tested, the email is not sent out, although no errors are shown on Audit tab of the BPEL instance.
I've tested the connection to the SMTP host from local server on port 25, it works.
Please advise what I might be missing to get email notification to work
Thanks very much for all the help :)

Thanks Charles for all the advise....
Here is the current status of email notification....
I could get Manual Workflow task notification emails to work, but the other emails which are setup in the BPEL process using Email activity are still not getting sent out.....
Please advise what should be the value in the "From" attribute, I've tried using both the Email Account Name as in ns_emails.xml and the valid email address also, but nothing worked.....need your advise to get this working....thanks a lot

  • Mail notifications not working correctly on iPhone 5

On my new iPhone 5 I have mail notifications set up as on in the notification center, alert style is banners, badge app icon is on and show preview is on, view in lock screen is off. It is set up the same way as when I had an iPhone 4. However, when I get a new email and the phone's screen is not on, the next time I turn it on I will not get the banner alert, all I see is the badge icon. This is kind of annoying as I would like to see the banner to know who the email is from before going into the mail app.
The notifications for mail on my iPad running iOS 6 just like my iPhone 5 are set up the same way and work correctly.
Why would they not be working correctly on my iPhone 5?

    Roshanalex
I have tried what you are saying and all the above, I don't think you understand what we are saying is happening to us because you probably never used or use it. We understand that you can see the notification by pulling down the notification tab from the top of the screen but in the past for example on my ipad and iphone 4 it would show you a preview banner of your emails you have received for the day had you not unlocked your phone for any given amount of time and given you did receive any emails the next time you unlocked your phone it would bring up top of the screen a preview of each email you had in your inbox automatically one by one in the banners without having to go to the notification pull down. It is a bug because I guarntee if you turned it on you wouldn't see what were talkin about either and you wouldn't if you've never were setup for that intention either.

  • Email notification not working

I have an OIM (11g) Solution where I can provision many resources (Solaris, AD, iPlanet, My SQl, Custom Resource Adapter, JNDI Adapter, etc) through roles.
Now I want to send Email notifications to users I've just created and their managers too.
I already have configured my Email Template, the Email Server Resource and the configuration in Notification Tab of the Process definition.
I have two problems: the First one is that I cannot add my email template in Notification Tab of Process Definition because only can view one template: *"Task Status Email Notification"*. I don't know if this is due a OIM bug or do I need to configure something else in templates?
The second issue is that OIM have not a Testing Module to test Configuration Resource and I don't know if OIM can connect to my Mail Server (Sun Convergence). In this configuration I only set the IP Address from my mail server. I already executed some tests via Telnet from my OIM Server to my Mail Server and I can send mail successfully. My mail server does not need authentication. thus I put the Authentication value to false.
Anybody has been faced with this issues?
I hope that someone can help me?
    Regards!

My templates are of type "provisioning related" and I set them to my resource type (SSH).
When I open the Process Definition for my SSH Resource and I go to Notification Tab does not show nothing related to my Email Templates. It only shows one template (Task Status Email Notification)
I've already implemented a solution through javax.mail to send custom Emails. I only attach it to my process task after create/delete/update users in OIM.
When I worked with Sun IDM (now Oracle Waveset) this stuff were too easy to implement. What a mess!
    Thanks in advance!

  • Notifications not working correctly

Some of my notifications on my iPhone have not been working correctly, as of the two most recent updates.
Some of my apps have gotten updates in the app store with a description that says "fixes push notifications". So I don't know where the issue lies, if it's with my iPhone 4, push servers, or with the individual company.
I've thought about resetting the network settings on my phone but I don't know if that'll fix the issues i've been having. I've done the hold/home button reset on the phone, turned off notifications for a few hours then turn them back on, turn off/on the options in the apps, and non of those have worked.

I got in contact with the company ages ago and it was an issue on their end

  • IOS 8.0.2 (iPhone5) Email notifications not working

Hello, I updated my iPhone5 to iOS 8.0.2, the email notifications are not working. It doesn't show badges, sounds or alerts when ever i receive an email, I have to physically open the mail app to receive any updates. I am using a "@shaw.ca" email, I turned on push / fetch alerts and it's still not working.

    Hi trossfl,
If you are having issues with Safari and Mail becoming unresponsive on your iPhone, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Meeting place express email notification not working

    Hi,
Facing issue with meeting place express email notification.
The SMTP e-mail exchanger rejected a recipient's e-mail address as unknown.
is the error message i get.
Ping status is fine, on firewall ports are opened as any any.
As per the exchange administrator, there is no request coming to the exchange from meeting place.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Vinay

I assume this is an existing system that has been working as MPE has not been sold in a long time.  Was this working in the pass and just stopped working? When are you seeing this error and does it happen for all users?
Has the logon changed that MP uses to access the SMTP server? If the password changed on the SMTP server and was not updated on MP this will happen.

  • Iphone 4 email notification not working

    hi,
my issue is simple, i am not receiving email notifications during when the phone is locked. i am absolutely required to receive email instantly and alerted INSTANTLY for my business, as i have a 20 minute guarantee for them.
anyways, in my notifications -> mail section i have the notification center on, badge app icon on, new mail sound ding, show preview on, and view in lock screen on.
yet whenever my phone is locked it doesn't alert me of the new email, ever.
in my fetch settings its turned on, and to 15 mins (can't make it lower)... i dunno what this has to do with anything but i heard it was a factor.
i really need my phone to alert me instantly can anyone help?
    ty

Oh, OK, so your big issue is with Notification Center.  Personally, I have mail off in Notification Center, but my iPhone buzzes anyway when locked, which happens to be enough info for me.
But I see your original post says you have set up Notification Center properly to give you visual as well as audio clues you have email waiting, but it's not working.
I wonder if resetting your iPhone would help.  Try holding the home and on/off buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.

  • E52 Email notification not working

Previously I was getting tone notification for my emails but now I don't receive any ,but when check it out , there are new emails. I don't know if it's because of the new software (081.003) or the application EMOZE downloaded at ovimail. Can somebody help, better still people from nokia?

    Hi,
    Just try one more alternative....
Create an anohter task just to send an email to the manger. The same thing you need in Notification tab for the new task as you done in approval task. Just add one more process task adapter under Integration which just completed automatically you can go "tcCompleteTask" as well in Integration tab of newly create task. Of you can refer the OIM LAB how to create a task just for notification.
As it is not working in in approval task might be because of response of the task.
Let me know if you have any query for the same.

  • Email notification not working but email retreival...

    Hi,
I'm thinking that email notification should simply tell you that you have a new email and that email retreival actually pulls the email from the server.
also does it cost to read your emails when on the move ?
    thanks.

  • Facebook -Push & email Notifications not working since u/g to v5.1

Is anyone else experiecning issues with setting up new Push notification for facebook on their iPhone?
I have iPhone5 running iOS 6.0.1 and upgraded to Facebook Version 5.1.
(I also have the older version of Facebook within iTunes on my mac and if I re-install this the same thing happens)
From within the Facebook app, BookMarks>Account Settings> Notifications> Manage Push Notifications.
When I try and check a box to enable a notification the tick doesn't stay but I get a message "Changes Saved".  This happens when I select one box or when I try to select multiple boxes at once to check.  I think that there may be a bug within this Facebook App?
Can anyone else using Facebook give this a try and see what happens for them?
On Facebook.com if I try and enable Email Notifications the same things happens there.
(The only time that I receive a notifcation is via the world icon when i'm in the app or on the FB.com)
I have reported this to Facebook but would also appreciate your answers of what could be causing this.
    Thanks
    Steven

    Hello -
It looks like you have two problems. The first problem with respect to email is that you do not have a "from address" specified in the server properties. I believe that is the address that the mail component is complaining about.
Also -> you seem to have a problem where the a backend Form Manager component is failing to retrieve information for that particular task (this error: Lock obtain timed out). hopefully after resolving the first issue above this will cease.
Let us know how it goes!
    Will
