Email Notifications on iPhone 3GS

All the mail that comes to my gmail mail account goes to the All Mail folder instead of the Inbox. Is there any way I can get the mail to go to the Inbox so that it gets included in the message count in the home page mail icon?......I have it set to Fetch every 15 mins but mail will only show up in my All Mail box when I go into it........as far as I know it is a POP account and SMTP for outgoing server.......Thanks!

I use gmail also on my iphone because I love how it checks all of my accounts at once. My mail goes to my Gmail account and it counted on my home screen. Do you have Gmail selected as your default account? I have my phone set on Push. Might try those two things because that is exactly how my settings are.

I can't access my email from my iPhone 3GS.
This is an iPhone problem, not an ISP problem.
I know this because I can access my email from both my laptop and webmail.
This is occurring here at home via my WiFi network and also a few kilometres away via 3G.
This morning I had to change the password on my Bigpond Cable internet email account.
Whenever I try to access email from my phone I receive the following error:
"Cannot Get Mail"
"The user name or password for "**** *****" is incorrect."
There are two buttons, one captioned Settings the other OK.
Both the user name and password are correct. This happened perhaps 4 or 5 times in the 6+ years I was with Internode and has happened a couple of times in the 20 months that I've been on Bigpond Cable.
I have re-entered my email account and connection details multiple times to no avail.
I have tried deleting the account, then rebooting my phone and creating a new account, but that didn't work.
I tried deleting the account, turning the phone completely off, waiting one minute and then after turning it back on, creating a new account but that didn't work.
I know I am entering the correct settings because before I deleted the account the first time, I took a series of screen captures from the Settings App and I also have the settings from MS Outlook to refer to.
Its as though somewhere in the phone, the old email password is being stored and being used instead of the new one, but I don't know where that could be except in the Settings app, "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" and that is where I am entering the new password.
The only solutions to this problem I found by searching are those that I have already tried and haven't worked for me.
Reverting to the old password is not an option. My account was compromised by Malware, hence the password change and a complete scan of my laptop.
Any ideas?

The problem was resolved by erasing the entire contents of my phone and then restoring it, setting it up as a new phone.

That changes things a little bit , login to icloud.com and see if you can find it in your sent folder.
If it is there you did send, just need to wait until you phone syncs "sent folder" perhaps on wifi.
If it is not, then I would say it is lost and you may have to send again. They have 20 megs limit, so make sure that message plus attachment is under that limit.

Hi, well I have been on chat line with Apple for hours today on this issue, finally being directed to a Senior Advisor. The problem, after working through all the settings on my iphone since updating to 8.1.3, was in Settings, Mail, Accounts and Fetch New Data. One of my email addresses (the one I use all the time) had not got mail attached to it and manually fetch mail was selected and now it is ok, having added a new account to include the email address and fetch email every 15 minutes. So all sorted now. Thank you for your help anyway. Much appreciated.

Email issues on iPhone 3GS after OS4 update

I updated my firmware to OS4 yesterday, and my email has been on the blink since then.
Basically, whenever I check my email, I get stuck on the "Connecting..." display forever. The phone never checks my mailboxes, it's just eternally "Connecting..."
The only way I've gotten around this is by turning off the phone, then turning it back on. Once I do that, the phone collects the mail - but only ONCE. After that, it goes back on the endless "Connecting..." loop.
What's the problem? I never had this issue with the last firmware. Just as of yesterday. I have three email accounts on my iPhone - but like I said, the old firmware handled all of them without issue.
Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

I had two users that were unable to get email from Microsoft Exchange 2003 on their iPhone 3GS after upgrading to iOS 4. One other user, however, had no problems after the upgrade. The only difference was that the user with his email functioning had minimal messages in his Inbox.
So for the two other users, I archived email messages to reduce their Inboxes from around 13,000 messages to below 2,500 messages. Once I did this, email started flowing through just fine. I did this to the Sent Items as well, and it worked too. I would give that a try.

SMS and/or email notifications from iPhone/iPod Touch calendar(s)

My wife and I have iPod Touch's that we use to sync 2 calendars. Is there ANY way to get SMS or email notifications of an event?
By syncing google calendar it will work ONLY if the event is created via google calendar - it won't work if it's created on the iPod.
I bought GoCal which says it has this feature, but I couldn't get it to work.
If i could get email notification i could just setup a filter to forward only those emails to my verizon dumb phones email address.
The point of this is to have a calendar that stays in sync, but we don't have our iPods with us every minute of the day. . . so we need the sms alert of the event.

Push Notifications for Iphone 3GS 6.1.3

I'm not receiving push notificationcs from apps like facebook, whatsapp, Instagram, twitter etc.
Just mail and messages work fine. The set up is ok, but I don't get notifications at all.

Did you ever jailbreak it? I had the exact same problem with my 3GS. Hi all, just joined, Can anyone help please to remove unwanted email addresses, I have tried free download of ibackupbot, it finds contacts but not email addresses, and I do not wish to buy it when apple should have this built in to the iphone.

If you are referring to the autofill feature when addressing an email, the iOS Mail app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients. The email address autofill feature when addressing an email pulls from your Contacts and from the list of previous recipients.
Different from the Mail app on a Mac, there is no access to the list of previous recipients with the iOS Mail app to add a previous recipient to Contacts that is not already entered, or to remove a previous recipient from the list - not at the present time anyway.

All email accounts not receiving or sending email on my iphone 3gs.

Since this Tuesday when I downloaded the most recent itunes 10 version none of my email accounts on my iphone are receiving email. I cannot send email as well. It says either the exchange server cannot be verified or the IMAC server is not available. I haven't changed any settings or passwords so it must be the apple software. Is this a known problem? Email Notifications on iPhone with Outlook (hotmail) folders

Hello,
I have a Outlook (hotmail) account and have it set to my iPhone. When I get an e-mail to the inbox it appears immediately on the iPhone, however if the e-mail goes to a folder, it will chime, but it doesn't show me which folder it was sent to so I have no idea where the e-mail is unless I open my e-mail in a browser.
Can anyone help me with this? I'm not sure if it is a setting in Outlook or on the iPhone.

Here's some more info:
In the Servers tab, ensure that:
1. The Incoming (POP3) server is set to fpostoffice.isp.att.net and the Outgoing (SMTP) mail server is set to fmailhost.isp.att.net.
Note: When updating the secure server settings, check SSL checkbox first to update the port setting.
* Under Outgoing mail (SMTP) should be port 465 and the box next to server requires a secure connection (SSL) is checked.
* Under incoming mail (POP3) should be port 995 and the box next to server requires a secure connection (SSL) is checked.
2. The Incoming Mail Server User Name (Account name) and Password are entered.
3. The Remember password checkbox and the My server requires authentication checkbox are checked.

My inlaws can't open a video I emailed from my iphone 3GS. They updated their Quicktime player. What could be wrong?

They use Windows. Not sure which version.

ICloud emails sent from apple mail or iPhone 3gs never arrives, works fine when sent from iCloud website

The ony place I have been able to send and receive email since the launch of iCloud has been the icloud website. I wasn't able to send email from my iphone 3gs or apple mail at all until today, now it finally appears to let me send email but it never arrives to its destination.
I can send an email from the icloud website without issue, and email sent from my icloud account using my iphone 3gs and apple mail seems to send fine and without error but who knows where it goes.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I figured out how to fix it... if anyone else has this problem, go to Outlook > Preferences > Accounts > select the IMAP account > Advanced > Folders and for "Store Sent Messages in this Folder:" select "Sent Messages (Server)."
