  • Pearl 8110 will not sync with Outlook Calendar

I have a Blackberry Pearl 8110, and I upgraded the Desktop Manager, then it quit syncing with outlook calendar.  It does sync with noes, memos, addresses, but no calendar.  when the sync is getting to the calendar it says "please wait" then just kicks me out.  No error message in the log, nothing.  I even retrograded back to 4.7.0.17, but no changed.  Here is what else I have:
    Blackberry 4.5.0 Core Applications 4.5.0
    Blackberry 4.5.0 System Software Properties
    Blackberry MDS runtime Properties 4.5.0.20
The calendar is the big thing for me.  Any Ideas??
    Thanks

I just wanted to let you know that I'm having the same problem with my 8120 and it started on the 18th.  I spent 3 hours, 39 minutes, and 42 seconds on the phone with BB support yesterday with no luck and we tried every trick they could think of.  I'll certainly let you know if I find any information since I too can't live without my calendar.

  • Pearl 8110 Home Screen is Blank/HELP!!

I received my Blackberry Pearl 8110 brand new yesterday. Today, I finished adding my contacts and was trying to categorize them (business, friends, Family etc.) by creating a folder. When I realized the folder would be an additional icon on the home page (I was expecting to be able to add a folder Within the contact icon) I deleted it. Then all of sudden my home page was completely blank.
I have tried to restart by removing the battery, for several hours at a time. I also removed the sim card and the battery. Nothing has worked. I can only access my applications by pretending to make a call, pressing the menu button and selecting switch applications which will then allow me to access the phone, home, message and ptt icons only.
I even upgraded my desktop software and tried to sync to see if that would help but could not complete the sync
I have searched the internet, the forums and high and low and cannot find any solutions that I have not tried. I have no way of accessing any thing else. Absolutely nothing. THIS IS A BRAND NEW PHONE and I HAVE NOT DROPPED IT, WET IT or MISUSED IT IN ANY WAY!!!!
    PLEASE HELP

One options is to load the OS again, or upgrade the OS to the latest:
    http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-8100-series-discussion-pearl/165550-latest-os-8110-4-5-0-152...
But if it is a brand new device? I would simply go exchange it at a local retail store for your carrier.

  • Internet Access/Email On My Blackberry Pearl 8100.

My mobile ‘phone account is with U.K. Orange on a pay-monthly basis. I recently bought a U.K. Vodafone-locked Blackberry Pearl 8100 from eBay. I got it unlocked successfully and inserted my Orange SIM card in it.
Everything works EXCEPT that I have no internet or email access whereas I did before on my old Orange Treo 600. I don’t even have a browser icon on the “desktop”. I tried to send an email from “Messages” but all I got was “No message services configured”.
Is there any way I can access the internet/email easily with my new Blackberry?
My home computer is an Apple Intel 24” iMac and I have PocketMac for Blackberry.

    Found it!

  • Setting up personal email on new blackberry pearl

    Hi all,
I have recently purchased a Blackberry  Pearl and am trying to set up my personal email however I am not being given the option to create or add a new email address....only getting the option for 'enterprise server account for a work email'.  Can anyone assist with this please.  I am not getting any response from my provider and need to set this up urgently.
    Regards
    JWW

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
To use the proprietary RIM Push email capability, you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), you will then have Personal Email added to the email setup wizard.

  • Emails deleting themselves on Blackberry Pearl after a few hours

I have set up an Email account on my Blackberry Pearl for a UKmail Exchange email account so I can see my emails on my Blackberry. However after a few hours the incoming emails are deleting themselves only leaving the sent emails. Emails are deleting themselves before I can see them.
I've looked in Email Settings but there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to stop them. Has anyone had the same problem?

Check and see if your WiFi is on. I had (have) the same problem when I leave it on and go to work. The phone constantly searches for WiFi and the battery at a record pace. I turn it on only when I am at home or where I can access WiFi, other times I leave it off.
I also hear the Ebay app is a huge drain.
I also limited the home pages, I had over twelve that i think were constantly updating. I limited it to one.
Maybe one or all of these will help.
    Regards.

Ommy,.. in all due respect, you aren't reading the posts that I am taking my time here to help you with.
    Scroll up read again.
Heck, I'll repeat and highlight the pertinent words to answer your questions:
Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?
You must, in order to get the RIM push email functions you are looking for, as well as addtional BlackBerry data services such as the internet browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger, and much more.
So, call your carrier and inquire about having the BlackBerry Data Plan added to your account.
    Good luck.

  • I can't post in online forums using my Blackberry Pearl

I just got my Blackberry Pearl and love it, but every time I go to an online forum and try to post replies to messages, it looks as if the post will go through, but it doesn't.  I have the Pearl 8110.  I can't recall how to look up the OS.  Do I need to have a certain OS to do this, or is this a problem with the website?

Try contacting a moderator or site admin about your problem. They should be able to help. I found an email address that you can use: [email protected]
    Hope that helps.

  • Media Sync cannot access photos in internal memory of Pearl 8110

    Hey,
I was wondering if anyone else ran into this difficulty ... I just updated the Blackberry Desktop Software, and thank goodness it's stopped using Roxio bloatware to transfer my photos off of my phone (Pearl 8110). Unfortunately, the new MediaSync doesn't sync with the internal memory of my phone, so it appears that my photos are stranded for the moment. I was wondering if anyone else had run into this problem, and what solution you would recommend. I looked through the technical support docs, and I don't think I found anything that fits this.
    1) Do I have to find an older version of the Blackberry Desktop software, transfer the photos, then upgrade again to the newest version with Media Sync and purchase a microSD card?
    2) If I purchased a microSD card and installed it, would directing the camera to store on the microSD card automatically move over the photos I've already taken?
    Thanks a bunch,
    Carmine

    Hi carmine_dichiara:
We currently can’t pull pictures from the internal memory of a 8110.
If you get a microSD card and save the pictures to that location, it will work properly.
(It won’t automatically move already taken pictures to the microSD card)

  • Blackberry 8100/8110 Red Light Flashing

It seems this is a common problem.
I loaded my Pearl 8110 or 8100 with a sh**load of music, pics & videos.
when i went to access them, play them or slideshow them, I noticed it took forever...attempting to ease the memory load on my phone, i started deleting, from the phone itself (not while connected via USB), songs, pictures, folders thereof, etc.
    then it died.
and it wouldnt re-start. pulled the battery, tried to sync it, tried to update, tried everything...the computer WONT read the phone...the update keeps getting stuck on re-initailization and when i finally cancel, it says "UNABLE TO UPDATE USING A MULTI-STAGE UPLOAD" or something like that.  it's almost as if the usb port got fried...it momentarily connects when the red light flashes on, then disconnects when the red light flashes off.
i've read thru 3-4 pages of posts on this without any hope in sight.
is it futile?  or is there something i havent tried?

    This was my post:
This website has a good solution. It seems to work for most people. My 8100 wasn't nuked, but I needed to reinstall the OS. I followed his instructions and it worked.
I don't know if we're allowed to post links on this forum, but I'll try. If it doesn't allow the link, then Google "crackberry reload operating system nuked blackberry" and it should be the first link. Just look for the crackberry site.

  • Pearl 8110 Problems

    Hi Everyone,
I have just brought a pearl 8110 yesterday and have been installing software on it like Google maps, Google mail, etc but the problem is certain programs won't launch (Google maps) freezes blackberry. Also none of the applications seem to connect to the Internet? So when installing an application what am i doing wrong because none of them seem to connect to the Internet! I am on T-Mobile UK and also my MMS messaging does not seem to be working either?
    Thanks
    Rockyuk

You need to provide your carriers APN settings to make that software’s work.
Go to Options -> Advances options -> TCP -> put your carriers APN and user name/password. You can collect this info from your carrier support or web site.

  • Organiser sync problem - Pearl 8110

I have a Pearl 8110 and use MS Outlook.  I have been using Desktop Manager successfully since I 1st got my BB about 15 months ago.
Last month the phone developed a fault and my provider swapped it for a recon phone.  So, I restored the backup I had taken before I sent the old handset away.  Then I synced the phone and Outlook Calendar  bidirectionally - as I have usually done. (That's all I sync btw).  It appeared to work OK.  Today, I synced again and, horror of horrors, my Outllok Calander had been wiped of all but the new appointments from my BB!
So, I tried a one-way sync phone -> Outlook in the hope of restoring the appts to my Outlook calendar, but no change. So, I noticed there was a more recent Desktop Manager available on download from the BB site.  I deleted the old version, downloaded the new version (6.0.0.40) and tried again - still the same, just the couple of new appointments from my BB in Outlook.  (All the old appts are on the phone still).
Can anyone suggest how I can get my full diary loaded back on to Outlook, please (and what, if anything, I may have done wrong)?
    Many thanks.
    Mike.

Seems that you need to unlock your BlackBerry device.
Contact the wireless operator who sold you the device and ask for an unlock code.

  • Enterprise Activation stops @ 98% on Pearl 8110

    Hi all,
Just been trying to activate a Pearl 8110 after a security wipe. Eveyrthing flys through the setup wiz and then the enterprise activation, execept that when it reaches 98% and is initialising the address book it just hangs there. This is the third time I've tried to activate the handset this week. When it was first issued it activated with no problems.
Anyone care to share their thoughts on this?
    TIA
    Rob.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
    I suggest the following steps:
    1) Register HRT
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > BBKey (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
KB03577 How to resend service books to BlackBerry smartphones from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
If that still fails, then I'd also contact my carrier to ensure that the BB is fully activated on their network and that it has the proper plan from them to enable BES to function through their network.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you!
