Email or post an iDVD

Hello,
I am in an online class and I wanted to use the iDVD I created as one of my assignments. Is there a way to send it to my professor? I tried to post it on a home page through iDisk but it won't let me save to iDisk.
Does anyone have a solution?

iDVD is an encoding, authoring and burning app for creating videoDVDs => disks.
the created files are huge, an average project of ~1h is 2.2GB - way to big to mail (most mail provider allow <3MB attachments) or posting on a website (nobody waits for 2.2GB download…)
your options are:
* "snail mail" - send a disk per letter to your prof
* export form within iMovie (choose "mail"); iM will compress your project very much => loss of quality; AND, for sure, no menus etc, just plain movie… AND, your prof needs QT installed on his/her computer…
* create a website with your movie… again: viewers will see "just" the movie, not the menus, chapters etc of your videoDVD
for creating a website, a) your movie needs a conversion ("make it smaller") b) you need some kind of website creation tool c) webspace
all that is done with a few clicks with an .mac account (charming convenience)
Plan B) upgrade to iLife6, which includes iWeb, nice website-creating tool
Plan C) any other website "maker", plus the many export/expert options of iMovie…
I do recommend RapidWeaver, I do create all my websites with... a very "Mac-ish" tool, you can do easy, but you can do lots of very elaborated features.....

Send form data via email after posting to MySQL database

I have created a form in DreamweaverMX 2004 and then tied it to mySQL database so that on submit the data posts to the database.
This works fine. It also goes to a "success" page just fine. I then added in some php code to also email a few of the fields from the form to a specific email address. This functions correctly using this code below (the email does go - the "from" email address has my login for MySQL database) EXCEPT that the data from the fields does not come through. The field labels are there as indicated below and the email is formatted correctly, but the data doesn't come through.

What am I doing wrong?
That's problem #1 - then problem #2 is that I actually also need to send the ID code in this email for the specific record which has been created in my database so the end recipient can associate the email with that specific ID later for other purposes. So even if I figure out problem #1, I'm not sure that I can use this code for problem #2 because the field isn't on the html form, but actually created by the database upon submission.

Emails sent post test are blank

I've set up a test for my project and tested yesterday. The post test email that is supposed to send results to an admin (me) is only blank. There are no results if I pass or fail. Is there a setting I'm missing or is it something else?

APPEND ls_packlist TO lt_packlist.
If it's still not working, you might try out to check the e-mail with a different mailing software, or try to send it to a web-based e-mail address, like gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc...
Maybe the settings of your Outlook is not correct.

Getting Huge Number of SPAM "Re: Contact" Emails After Posting! What's Up?

Since I posted a question last week, I began receiving a large number of emails that seem to be asking if I want to remain on the "Apple Discussions" email list; but, the emails appear to be coming from other Apple posters.
Anyone else have this going on? I don't see anything about it on the site.

Does your phone let you email or post videos?

My droid will not let me email videos or post video to facebook no matter how long they are. I also can not text any of my videos..what is going on? I am getting fusterated with this so called great phone..

i know on my htc inc the max i can send is 1.2 megs (via text). the problem with these great cams is that the files they record are LARGE. i put the video on the lowest resolution but still can't text a vid that's more than about 12-15 seconds. as far as facebook goes....that's a fb issue. ages ago i could email video and it would post (eventually). now, nothing! i've even tried to get a response from fb twice, but they never got back to me and nobody specifically addresses this in any of the fb help forums. so i've found a fix. if you have the patience to learn a pretty cool app then go to the market and download qik. i can now take long videos and IMMEDIATELY post to fb (seriously.....it's close to a live stream). you gotta set up an account on the qik website and link it to your fb and i had to learn a bit.....but in less than an hour i was postin videos to fb and now i use it all the time. as far as sending vids via text....i am and will remain dissapointed. i could send 30 second vids on my env touch!!! i know they were poor quality, but a 12 second video is all i can get through now and that's pointless.

Funny emails appearing post 4.0

so annoying problem i just found, opened emails and see new messages, read all of them, exit out and return a while later with another new message. wanting to know what it was, i opened it, and it said something along the lines of no subject etc so a blank email. next strange thing was the date read 1/1/70, and when i closed and reopened it read 1/1/1. now that funny message has dissappeared however the unread icon still appears next to the inbox.
any ideas?

Help!! cal event created and emailed not posting to ical

i create a calendar event in outlook at the office and invite my personal email address and then when i look at my ical the event does not show up.. i have the option set so this should happen automatically but it doesn't....please any help would be appreciated, thanks.

if i receive and invite from someone (or send to myself for that matter) the event should be automatically posted to my calendar without any action on my part.

Stopping Automatic emails When Posting Files

We need to post workfiles to a beehive team collaboration site. The system is automatically generating a "document posted" email for each one. How do we stop these emails from going out? We are just clogging up the team's email in boxes.

When the system was set up the creator chose to have autosubscription enabled. This means that any create or update action will generate a file to all participants in the Workspace.
The subscription setting is at an individual level so can be switched off by the individual using the https://beehiveonline.oracle.com/BOLAdmin.html tool - navigate to the All My Workspaces tab and click on the Workspace - the right hand panel will allow you to disable the subscription for you on the Workspace - or allow you to restrict the notification to a folder/sub-folder.
If you need to have the subscription unset for the group you need to do 2 things:
1. Go to the group creation tool - click on the group name and switch off the auto-subscribe. this will stop any new users being set up with subscriptions.
2. Let us know the Workspace name via the [email protected] email address and we can remove it from the existing users en-masse.

Just to make sure - You're saying you had backed up your iPhone 4. When you plug in the 3GS, and try to "restore" the data from the iPhone 4 backup onto the 3GS, you get that error? Check to see if the iOS version is up-to-date, and hopefully it isn't. It might also be because your iPhone 4 wasn't, and is causing some sort of problem.

Why are you bothering to upgrade to Lion?
If your machine is one of those that can't upgrade to the better Mountian Lion, then it's much better off remaining on Snow Leopard because of all the legacy software your running won't need to be replaced.
The Lions and beyond won't run your PPC software, and likely most of your Intel software neither, no Rosetta!
A older machine that can only run Lion is a dated machine, and likely due to expire soon.
I can't see even bothering to go to Lion and having to buy all new software for a old machine, not at your stage.
A newer 10.8 machine would be a better choice, because you know Apple releases a new OS X version every year now and the year is almost up, so if you get to 10.7, then your going to be behind again shorty anyway on the old machine, but the new machine you can upgrade OS X to the latest new version.
It doesn't make much sense at this point and time to upgrade to Lion for you, the older machine will run best with Snow Leopard anyway.
If you MUST use one of the OS X Lions, then I suggest a new machine, that way it can be upgraded further.
Apple is still issuing security updates for Snow Leopard, it's got a 1/3 apx market share.
OS X 10.4/10.5 need to upgrade, 10.6.8 ok still

OIM use case- Email notifcation post Exchange provisioning

Consider the following use-case:
After AD and Exchange accounts are provisioned for a user, email notification need to be sent to the user's manager containing some attributes. One of the attributes is user's email address which will not be given by the user. It would be concluded when Exchange Account is provisioned. Now this email adress is to be retrieved. It could be done by giving a JNDI call to lDAP in the java code.... how this is to be initiated...please give some pointers in this direction..

Like Rajiv is saying OIM normally sets the email address during provisioning so you can use the value from the process form.
There are some circumstances and configurations when Exchange will overwrite the email address with a "better" email address. In that case you can use s slight modification of this code http://iamreflections.blogspot.com/2010/08/manage-ad-with-jndi-demo-tool.html
The attribute you need to get is called mail (there are a dew other alternatives but mail is always present)

Stopping email notifications post cloning

Hi,
I have a situation here. I have already cloned the Production and cloned instance is ready and running. For testing some notifications, i did the following so that all users doesn't get the notifications.
a) Disabled all the alerts defined using Oracle Alerts
b) update WF_NOTIFICATIONS set mail_status = 'SENT' where mail_status = 'MAIL';
c) Used email overriding options and put my email id there.
After doing all these I started the smtp service on the server. In spite of this, many users got mail from the TEST server. Did I miss something? How to prevent it completely and still retaining the capabilities of testing email notifications.
