email ovi n8 after update 14,00 veresion not working!

Just a clarification here, do you mean that the Ovi Mail mailbox is not working or the entire email mailboxes [e.g. if you have set up gmail, yahoo etc].
In any case I recommend you first try steps by Zokonja [above]. remove the mailbox[es] then set it up again

  • Can't download anything from Ovi store (N8)

    Hello, it all started on Saturday when i purchased Rio birds game and it turned to a "failed" download. I press Download button and then page refreshes and I get the Red button,"download failed" or something. I purchased another game day after that thinking its a temporary "bug" or something, it happened before and I got the same error. Tried downloading random free stuff but soon as I press Download button I get the download error again. Its been like this for 5 days now, cant download anything, not even stuff I purchased. Emailed Ovi support twice on sunday and monday but have not recieved a reply yet. Very odd IMO, 3,4 working days without a reply is very unprofessional. Do they even recieve those mails?
    And I tried reinstalling Ovi store but still got the same download error. 
    Any tips or something that doesnt include hard reboot?

    I am having the same problem i got angrybirds seasons tried to download, it kept coming up as error try downloading again but still no game. I contacted o2 they put me through to nokia i was told to turn off phone take out battery then try again and surprise it never worked. Failing that they said to do a soft reset and still it doesn't work and it now tells me Maximum number of download attempts reached it is now beginning to really bug my happiness. It also won't connect to my wifi.

    I am trying to recover my ovi email @ovi.com which I have deleted in mistake. Now I am trying to recover that account but can't be able to recover it. I want to know that is there any possibility where I can recover my email account..

    What do you mean by "deleted"? Deleted from the phone? You have to contact Nokia directly for that.
    If you used the "terminate" option, you can no longer retrieve the account.

    I have been using an OVI mail for my small business since a year or so with small but bearable problems, My business is not that old that's why I defined a very recent Date of Birth when signing up for that account. But when OVI mail got powered by Yahoo, they locked my account assuming that it's a child's account. I can access it from Outlook though but cannot from the web. Below is the text from Yahoo:

    Note for Parents and Legal Guardians:This account is locked due to the birth date that was entered at registration or the age given on one of the account's Public Profiles.

    Can someone kindly explain me W.T.F is that? Hundreds of my clients have this Email address and I don't wanna create a new ID. I badly need help. Is creating a new ID the only option? If so, then I have to say goodbye to OVI and Yahoo mail.

    @mysterious1 - OK, thanks for the update.  I'm going to ask around to see if we can fix this going forward, for you and others.  One other question--was 1/1/2000 the exact date of birth you chose when you setup the account?  Partially, I'm just curious.
    Just FYI - New Ovi accounts can't be created with a date of birth indicating you are < 13 years old. But it seems like we could handle existing accounts with such a date of birth better.

  • C3-00 Communication error on communities

    Hi There,
    I wonder if you can help me, I am getting a communication error on communities when trying to log into my facebook account.
    It has been working fine up till about 7pm tonight and then I started getting the error.  I thought it may have been an issue with my wifi so disconnected that and reconnected and also tried to connect via GPRS but was unsuccessful.  I am however able to log into all other apps, chat, email, Ovi store, internet etc.  I just seem to be having issues with communities.
    Can someone shed some light on this please?

    i have a nokia c7 and i just went to the ovi store to download need for speed shift HD but it said that it was not available for my set but when i set the phone as n8 it said your phone is set
    why? they both have same os and almost the same hardware with the 3d accelerometer and all
    the RAM is same the graphic capeabilities of both phones are same thenwhy and this not only for this game for a number of apps

    Need for Speed Shift is now available in Ovi Store for C7. It is named NFS Shift instead, and unfortunately, it is not free.
    IMO, Need for Speed Shift is free only for N8 was as a form of sales marketing technique to differentiate the product (N8, as an Nseries is suppose to be a flagship device anyway) from other Symbian^3 devices. I'm not sure why they can't launch paid version of NFS for C7 earlier, probably technical issue maybe. I wanted to buy but I bought GT Racing instead, since it is available from the beginning.
    I faced similar issue that certain apps are available to N8 but not to C7, you can email Ovi support to ask them why, basically I forgot what they replied me lol.

  • Multiple Apps crashing on N8 belle

    Hi All
    I've reverted back  to using my N8 having not used it for a year or so. I've been having issues with many of the apps including internet, email, Ovi store and anything I download onto the phone through my laptop (eg whatsapp). Essentially they crash regularly or fail to connect online even with a functioning WLAN connection.
    For example If I try and access facebook on the internet I'll reach the log in page, enter my credentials and then the internet will crash... unbelievably frustrating! Similarly when I try and define a new mailbox it will begin preparing setup then the mail app will crash.
    I've done the usual tricks of restoring factory settings, deleting data and reinstalling the Belle software but no joy. 
    If anyone has any suggestions as to what I can it would be greatly appreciated.

    As your N8 almost inevitably out of warranty you might want to check with Nokia Care facility how much they would charge for completely re-installing device software to device where all user data deleted from C:\ and E:\, which is more profound that that provided by function to re-install existing device software within Nokia Suite upon PC.

  • Cannot Sign into Ovi Store and cannot create email...

    Hey all,
    I have just recently got my N8 back from Nokia. I sent it back due to numerous problems...battery life was less than 16hrs, kept saving sent messages, wouldn't update emails instantly and kept getting mail that was 4 days old, etc...
    But now everytime I try and log into Ovi Store it tells me "Cannot connect to Server" or similar.
    Also having problems trying to set up my Yahoo and Gmail email accounts... keeps telling me that "mail server is unavailable"...
    Anybody else having these problems? Any solutions??

  • Nokia e6 OVI store and email problem

    I just bought a Nokia E6, but I have trouble connecting to the store and adding my email. Whenever I try to open the OVI store, it asks for an update. So select download, and it tries to download and install, but when it's almost done installing, it gives me an error, saying that it can't connect to the server and that I should try again later. When I try to open the email to add my gmail account, it says it can't connect to the mail server. The wifi connection is fine and the web browser works okay, but these things are really bugging me, as I now can't download apps from the store or receive e-mail. 
    I live in the Netherlands and my mobile operator is simyo/kpn.

  • Ovi email very often bouncing

    Why do postings to my Ovi email account bounce so frequently?
    This is not a one-off it happens a lot. Sometimes it works sometimes it bounces.
    Every time it does this I get annoyed, yet a trial "mail to self" from my ovi account comes through straight away, and it appears normal.
    I have been testing it from various other email accounts and I often get bounces. For example today's test from Gmail shows me : (xxx is my account)
    Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:
        [email protected]
    Technical details of permanent failure:
    Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 554 554 delivery error: dd This user doesn't have a ovi.com account ([email protected]) [0] - mta1210.mail.ac4.yahoo.com (state 18).
    I have a load of diagnostic info sent back by another account which i won't post here. - So is my experience common? - What's up?

    Does this mean you are unable to open the app as it will just give an error "application error"? Can you try to access other apps and check if they have the same issue? Have you tried rebooting your phone?

  • Ovi email error. DESPERATE!

    Hi guys,
      I'm Aaron and I'm having a very annoying problem with  my email. For some strange reason I can log on to my account however I cannot seem to view my email. The loading symbol just keeps going on and on, this applies for my inbox and all my folders.. It's very irritating cause its been going on for 5 days now. can someone please help me.

    Thank you for feedback, we have found following issue on OVI Mail;  
    Note! I edited my earlier answer, because of find better workaround.
    This seems to occur primarily in India. R&D is working on the problem and a fix is expected shortly.  In the meantime, you can view and retreive your mails using the following procedure:
    1. Open a web browser and go to ovi.com http://ovi.com.
    2. Sign in with OVI Mail credentials to OVI account.(Do not select mail)  
    3. Select "account" (upper right portion of the screen)
    4. At the bottom of the "Basic Information" box, select "Edit Basic Information"
    5. Change the Country/Region to any country other than India, for example United Kingdom. (whose primary language is one you understand) and "Save."
    6. Go to http://mail.ovi.com and log in - your mailbox folders will be displayed. 

  • Ovi email account on X2 - 01 not responding

    Hi there. Unfortunately I cannot acces my ovi account on my cell phone. When I try to access my account, it says "application error" and then when I select the details option it says "java/lang/NullPointerExeption" I have no idea what this means.
    However I can access my account from my laptop. The tile on the main menu with the "@" sign does not allow me access. It's important that this gets sorted out, I use my cellphone for email very often for work. Any ideas about what's going on?

    Tried to sign into my ovi email account but always getting following error message :
    We're sorry, we cannot process your request at this time. Please try again later. (Error: ERR_AUTH_AC_DAMAGED)Please enter your username and password.
    I contacted the Nokia support by email and I got an email back automatically generated which tells me that I will get an answer or reply within 48 hours !
    Well that's pretty much disappointing. I am using ovi email also for my small business and it is absolutely necessary for me to have a accessible email account !!!
    I am rather desperate ... who  can help and please fast !?!?!?!?

  • No search key/features in OVI email account

    Hi 
    has anyone encounter difficulties in finding the email subject as there are no search key/feature in the ovi email.  Is there a better way to search subject body as I have thousand of email in my inbox.

    In Nokia Ovi Mail you can indeed search for a specific message using a keyword. Just log onto your account using this link:
    https://www.nokiamail.com/
    On the top right hand corner of the page you will have a searh box, please enter your keyword here and click on "search mail". All the e-mails with that keyword included in it will be displayed.
