Email password not getting recognized in email accounts

I am having major issues with my email.  I was using Outlook:2011 v14.4.3 for the mac, but was having so many problems with it that I abandoned it.  Outlook:2011 was not recognizing my password and I was continuously getting Authentication Failed messages, and needing to in put my password.  It would take my password sometimes, and sometimes not.  Now It won’t recognize it ever.
So I went to Apple's Mail for a while and then to Thunderbird because I like the features that it has.
Now Apple’s Mail and Thunderbird are both give me error messages and won’t recognize my information.
I know the information is correct, because I can go into my browser and go to Outlook.com (not to be confused with Outlook:2011.  I have an @outlook.com email address.)  and send and receive mail there.
I have recently upgraded to Mavericks 10.9.4
I have no idea what is happening, but I am pulling my hair out. Can anyone help??

Try going to Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access and see if the password is there. If so, delete it. While there, run Keychain First Aid.

    I assume these are POP accounts and all computers are set to remove from Server after downloading.
    So on the non dominant ones... Mail Preferences>Accounts, highlight an account, Advanced tab, uncheck remove from Server, just have the main dominant one remove from server.
    Or get/setup IMAP accounts.

    Did you check your gmail account to see if it is working OK?
    Are you sure you didn't make a typo when you entered the gmail address as a change?

  • Email problem; not getting verification emails

    Hello all,
    I'm new to BT - had fibre installed a week ago... forst post here (be gentle!).
    All good so far except for email. I'm using Thunderbird and can send and receive from my new BT address, and receive emails from all my other domains.  But I cannot send from my existing addresses. This is a big problem as I have three other email accounts. One is my own domain that I need to use with various 'prefixes'.
    I have added all the addresses in the BTYahoo web as instructed and get a message telling me that the verification email is sent - but it isn't.  I get no verification message sent to any of my accounts.  I have checked spam, deactivated all filtering etc.etc... I just don't think the verification emails are being sent.
    I have trawled the internet for advice, searched various forums, and I have followed the BTYahoo advice about this issue, along with Andyweb's excellent advice (here) and contacted him regarding this issue but I am still getting nowhere since I am not getting any verification email. Is there a real person at BT who can help?  PLEASE?!

    Hello... anyone there?!
    It's now seven months since I raised this problem and still nothing! BT 'support' is a complete joke.
    Such a shame as the pre-sales people in the UK were great - infomed and helpful. The guys who came to install the new line and fibre were great.  I suppose it's only to be expected that once I'd signed the contract I would be forgotten! Their colleagues in India who are the 'support' phone every few days to tell me my situation has been escalated and will be sorted within 48 hours... this started SEVEN MONTHS AGO!
    I am now convinved that you (BT) either just hope that we (the user with an issue) will just go away, or that you genuinly think that 'someone' in India is doing something and as long as they 'keep me informed' then I have no cause to complain.
    You do not deserve to be in business when you care so little about 'aftercare'. I know that for every person like me, who quietly slips off the BT-radar (yet still HAVING to pay for something I was promised but you won't supply), there's a dozen more who sign up after seeing the 'too good to be true' offers. The individuals that I have dealt with have been pleasant, and convince me that they will do something. But BT as a company are a disgrace... please prove me wrong and send me a verification email so that I can get back on track with my contacts!

    Usually when that happens to me it's in an HTML formatted email.  If I change it to plain text I can click the link.  I was assuming it was the same thing happening to you.  I'm glad you figured it out.

    The first thing I would suggest is for you to go to the folder containing your catalog, using your system browser. There will be a folder that has the extension .lrdata. Delete that folder, and then try to start Lightroom. If that doesn't work, replace your catalog with your most recent backup.

    In my infra there is exchange Online  and also ADFS deployed in onpremise.. the Exchange Active sync is
    outlook.office 365.com for any exchange online email accounts but there is some rules configured in ADFS that all the emails will routed through
    [email protected], and through [email protected]
    email are getting downloaded in mobile devices that currently configured through Airwach MDM sultions..
    but, now i have to manage the mobile device through Intune and while deploying the Email profiles Emails are note getting downloaded ,even i tried to use outlook.office365.com
    and [email protected] both as Active Sync Server name..
    I haven`t any idea to solve this issue, please guide is anything i need to configure ion ADFS rule of Intune Attributes ( that will allow mobile devices to download the emails )etc..  please suggest for solution..

    Intune really has *nothing* to do with the proper functionality of the e-mail client on the mobile device. All Intune does is create the profile -- what the e-mail client does with that information is up to the e-mail client.
    Have you verified that the profile that Intune created is correct?
