Email phishing notice

Might be coincidence, but since I installed Snow Leopard a few days ago my son gets a phishing warning when he opens an email from me. He's using PCs running Windows at work and at home and gets the warning at both places.
I'm new to Apple stuff. Is there some way to scan my iMac to see if I have a Trojan Horse or something like that in it? I tried to search the forums but didn't really now what search term to use so didn't have very good results.

Thanks Barney. I think I'll hold off a bit before running ClamXav though as it's a Beta version for Snow Leopard and he states there are some intermittent crashes with it. I'm not experiencing any obvious problems with my computer so I'm not too keen on messing with it. I think I'll do some more checking and see if others are getting the phishing warning on my emails.

Malicious File Email.Phishing.DblDom-86 Can't Be Removed from Backup

Hi. My anti-virus has detected in the Mail app the malicious file called Email.Phishing.DblDom-86. It may or may not be harmful but it's better to delete it to have peace of mind. OS X though because it's on my Time Machine backup it says, even if it's already in Safe Mode. I'm using ClamXAV. Any solutions? Thank you in advance.

Quit from the Mail menu of the Mail application first.
Use Cocktail:
http://www.maintain.se/cocktail/index.php
If you can locate the file and zap it with the delete file function of Cocktail, that would solve the problem.
If you can't locate the file, locate it first with Find Any File before trying to zap it with Cocktail.

EMailing Dunning Notices & spoll generation alongside

Dear Experts,
I have been using a function module FI_OPT_ARCHIVE_DUNNING_NOTICE and event 00001040 for emailing dunning notices.
Emailing part is working perfectly fine , but alongside that the client needs to maintain a copy of the spool with them.
Problem is that spool is not being generated.
Kindly guide me if I am missing any parameter in the above FM to generate a spool.

Fix current link in"action required now" notice; verizon.com/assist is NOT a "guided setup".

It would appear that these emails are actually phishing scams. See "New Phishing Scam Targets Verizon Online Customers" under Support / Announcements in your My Verizon.

Apple Mail Evokes "Phishing" Notice on Recipient's PC

An email correspondent with whom I've exchanged lots of emails recently got a Windows warning that several of my emails may be phishing. In checking the email headers I couldn't see anything amiss, except one of the emails was sent via an alternate smtp address, specifically one my wife uses for her MobileMe account on her IPhone and laptop which is also synched to my IMac.
Would the use of such an email address trigger Windows to a (false) phishing warning, or might there be a more likely explanation?

If you send an email from one domain (e.g [email protected]), but use another smtp server (e.g smtp.otherdomain.com), then your emails will often be flagged as suspicious.

Have detected several of these files.
Followed the path of the file revealed in FINDER
Opened the file which appears to be eMail and, all of the emails are associated with payments I''ve made through Paypal

Yes, the same issue as moving it to the trash, mailbox index corruption.
Recently I have been getting long lists of such potentially contaminated e-mail files every time I do a virus scan.
A couple of things. If the word "Heuristics" appears in the infection name then it is a warning to you that something appears suspicious about the formating of the message which might be a phishing attempt. You should always read these messages to see whether it is or not. Those were not positively identified as being contaminated through an exact match to a signature.
Again, if this is a gmail account, you will need to do a little extra work to permanently delete it from the "All Mail" folder by using webmail in your browser to first delete it and then empty the Trash folder. There are some settings on the gmail server which have been shown to improve this situation.

Email phishing, malware, trojan horses, key stroke

I have a iMac with the new Yosemite 10.10.1 SW installed. I received an email and clicked on a web link that was characterised as Phishing and I enterred private information. I have since truned off all online contacts that may be compromised. What is the likelyhood that when I went to this scam website and enterred information that Malware, Trojan Horse, Key stroke counting type SW was installed? Would the new Yosemite OS prevented this from happening?

Those sites are mostly designed for Windows PCs, so OS X should not be affected. Furthermore, OS X Yosemite uses Gatekeeper, which only allows to install apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers by default.
If you want to be sure there is nothing bad in your Mac, you can use ClamXav and scan the hard disk.

Email phishing

I received an email this AM, supposedly from Verizon wireless, that my 1/28/14 credit card pay't was declined, due to incorrect card info, and I should click on a link provided, to update card ninfo.
I do not have Verizon wireless, I did not try to make a pay't today, and my card info is up to date. Also, email did not appear to come from Verizon. I am trying to determine if this is a phishing email or a mistake on Verizon's part. Further, customer ID and acct # did not match mine.

Yes it is a phishing email. Delete without clicking on any links.

Emix showing up as email.phishing

A malware virus program I'm using is bringing up emix mail as phishing. When I go to the path of the emix, it shows a ton of them! The program names a specific virus 81274.emix, but many OTHER emix mails are there.
Are some emix mails good ones and others bad? I googled emix and am not finding any information at all.
I would like to get rid of ALL OF THEM, but I'm not sure if there is a reason they are there?

(dot ee em el ex)
81274.emlx is the only bad one it seems, but only dangerous if you respond to it.

Email failure notice

HI,
I have an email address that continues to fail, can you let me know why it is failing? I get the following error:
550 Access denied (sender blacklisted)
Please advise as I need to converse with this person……the email address in question is:

Does this message include an attachment?
If so, more than likely this message is spam and the attachment is infected with a Windows virus.
Most returned email error messages from a recipient's incoming mail server if a sent message is not accepted do not include:
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

ITunes email phishing scam

This is a fake offer for 50 free iTunes songs. The link in the email says http://www.apple.com/itunes/winners, but it really goes to http://nolde.us/img/Winners/
The email seems to be from [email protected] and the server that sent the email is beryllium.elinuxservers.com. The page redirects to pages on Apple's site to seem legit.

I could not find a phishing reporting address for apple so I'm just going to post the headers here

Email Suspension Notice

By chance I looked in Manage Email Accounts and found all five of my accounts have a suspension notice pending on them.
As all accounts are in regular use may I have some help with this please? Thanks.

HT204053 I set up my iTune and iCloud account with my work email sometime ago. Last week I changed my iTune email account to a personal email and noticed that the iCloud account has not changed. I pay for additional storage and would like this changed?

My first iTune and iCloud account was set up with a work email address. Last week, I changed my AppleID to a personal email account, but have found that on my iPhone under settings, iCloud, my account still has my work email. How can I change this to reflect my new personal email. I also pay to have extra storage, how is all of this working/tying together? Please help!
