Email - photo attachments?

In email I used to be able to SET the SIZE of PICTURES attached - sm - med - lg or actual --- WHERE did that setting go?

CT claimed to have it still. I also still have it, on the right side of an extra grey bar that pops down underneath the header area as soon as I attach an image file. It's labeled "Image Size:". On the left side of the grey bar is the message size corresponding to the current size selected in the drop-down menu.

Why can't I import email photo attachments directly into iPhoto...the option is there, but doen't work?

    Greetings,
How were the images sent: as part of a Rich Text email, or plain text email, with an attachment? Either way, for each image, you should see a Save button, which will display an Add to iPhoto option when you click and hold.

How do I avoid pixelation in email photo attachments?

Are the pictures showing up as embedded? If so, try control - click the picture and select compress which will make a zip file you can attach.

  • Difficulty transferring email photo attachments

Apple mail App unable to send email photo attachments direct to iphoto since  upgrade to mountain lion. Now I need to drag photos into i photo.  Has anyone have had this problem and has found a solution?

Thanks but that is what I have always done or used the save to iphoto. Neither work anymore.

  • "Large" email photo attachments too small

For no apparent reason my email photo attachments are now too small. "Actual size" will render a 4Mb jpeg true to size. However, Large, Medium and Small give a 10 Kb image. This was never the case until just recently. I've just realized that the screen grab below is also very small.  Cheers, jp

My apologies - I have discovered that the issue is not apple related but caused by a new RAW converter I am using. Cheers, jp

  • Email photo attachments are getting visually compressed in the vertical. Cause?

My Email photo attachments are getting visually compressed in the vertical. Squashed as it were. Does anyone know thw cause?

What version of iPhoto and system are you running?  When did this begin.  Are you mailing directlhy from iPhoto as the email client or with Mail as the email client?  If it's iPhoto reset iPhoto's preferences so that Mail is the client and see if the problem is still occurring.

  • When I Move email photo ATTACHMENTS to Organizer, quality greatly diminished (PSE8). Please Help!!!

I have not had this happen before, though I may have used another way of getting the photo attachments (can't remember), but these beautiful photos are worthless as they appear in the Organizer. When I open the attachments, the photos are sharp and clear. Thanks.

How are you saving the attachements (also which format)?
Save it to the local system and view them in the explorer and see if it is only the organizer that is showing up the incorrect behavior.
Organizer will show only what it will get on the hard drive.

  • Sending Email Photo Attachments

I am new to Photoshop Elements 2.0. I bought it solely so I could attach photos to emails I send to friends, without them being so large the reader would have to use scroll bars to see the entire image. I have tried several times without success. The tutorials and online forums do not seem to address this issue.
I have followed the "Help" instructions to the letter and experimented with several image formats, from jpeg, pdf, png, gif, etc. None solve the problem and some make things worse. I have been sending email to my own address as tests. All images arrive showing about 25% of the total image and require scrolling up/down left/right to see small portions at a time.
I have sent these images in the smallest possible options possible with no change in the received images (e.g., quality: 1, Low). What am I doing wrong?
I am running Windows XP (Home) on a Dell PC with a very fast chip and lots of RAM (I don't remember the exact specs, but they are quite large). I use Netscape 7.0 as my browser and email server and Charter High-Speed isp service through a Motorola SB42000 "SURFboard" cable modem.
Thanks for your help, Richard Board

A lot of people have trouble doing this, because what you need to be adjusting is the length and width of the image in terms of pixels. Today a lot of people use monitors that are much higher resolution than in the "olden days" (meaning more than 3 years ago!) Start making the "Save For Web" feature your friend, and you'll have much more success.
Choose an image, have it open on your desktop, then go to File>Save for Web. Once it has opened, there will be a split screen. Your original will open on the left, with a copy on the right, and there's a selection area on the far right. Go to the area in which you can change the size in pixels. Make sure there is a checkmark in the box Constrain Proportions. Now set the width for 600 pixels and let the height default. You can also choose an image format (JPEG is good) and a quality setting. As you're changing the size and quality (you have to hit Apply), notice you get a preview of the change in file size below the image on the right. I just opened a file that is about 8MB. I choose JPEG High Quality, and I reduced the width from its original 3072 pixels to 600, and the file size went down to 65k. I think this is what you're looking for. Play with it a little until you get a size you're happy with. Also keep in mind that display of an image file that's attached to a message will be pixel by pixel. If you're using a monitor with a 1024 X 768 resolution, the picture is going to take up much less screen real estate than it would if you were viewing it on a monitor that was set to something small, like 800 X 600. On the small one, an image that's 600 pixels wide will take up three quarters of the screen.

  • Saving email photo attachments in iPhoto

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion.  Before I upgraded, I used to open an email (that had a photo attached), Click the "Save" button, scroll down to "Add to iPhoto", and it would automatically add the photo to the iPhoto library.  I've done this for the past two years without a problem.  Now with Mountain Lion, I go through the same process but the picture isn't added to iPhoto.  Is this a Preferences thing?  What can I do so I can make this work again?

Bug. Report to Apple. IPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback
For now save the the desktop and import or open with quick look, expand to full page and save to iPhoto from there

    Hi,
If you are talking about PSE in general, the step up from PSE 5 to PSE 11 does have a big learning curve. The difference between PSE 11 and PSE 13 is smaller in comparison.
If you are talking about emailing from PSE, the change between PSE 11 and PSE 13 does allow for a wider number of email agents and does away with the Adobe email client.
If you are having problems working with PSE 11, it maybe worth looking at some of the video tutorials.
    http://tv.adobe.com/show/learn-photoshop-elements/
There is a trial of PSE 13 available as a download if you want to try it.

  • Why can't I open all my emails, open attachments or send photos on my ipad anymore

Why can't I open all my emails, open attachments or send photos on my ipad anymore. Sometimes it takes awhile for an email to open, other times they open without any incident. I can't seem to be able to email any photos anymore.

It sounds like you have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them.
Pages 5 can not open Pages '08 files at all. You will need to Export the Pages '08 files to Word .doc/x or use Pages '09 to open the Pages '08 files and resave them.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 older Pages files can not be opened in previous Pages.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Note: Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

How do I email photos taken on the iphone, without having them embedded in the email? I would like to have them as attachments, not shown in the body of the email.

    @ Philly
    Yes there is,
When you recieve a mail with an attachement (inline or as a picture) right click (or control click) the attachement and choose "show as symbol" or "show fullsize" (or completely or something like that, I don't work in English version). Mail will take this as a general preference.

This is a Mac Mail issue. If your clients follow these instructions they can either change it temporarily or permanently.
