Email photos as attachment not embedded

I apologise, I am sure this has been asked many times, but I cannot find the answer....
Using gmail is it possible to email photo as a jpeg attachment so the recipient can save it rather than embedded?

maggsie
This is a setting in the application you use for sending Mail. gmail is an email service, So what app are you employing to use gmail?
If it’s Apple’s Mail, then the trick is to send Plain Text emails.
However it is worth noting that you have no control over how an email appears to the person at the receiving end - that’s all about their email settings

I suspect that your Windows pals are using an e-mail program from the Stone Age.
In the last 10 years or so most people prefer to read attachments “in-line”. This allows text and images to be intermixed allowing an easier method of explaining things.
When I am dealing with a old-fashioned, obsolete Windows user that is using an older e-mail program I simply put all the attachments at the very end of the e-mail. This will make it appear more normal to them.
Not all Windows programs work in this primitive fashion. But as Mac users, we have become more accustomed to the modern methods of viewing attachments in-line.

    Hi ,
There is an option of embedding index for faster search while converting email to a PDF .
However I am not sure that will serve your purpose or not .
I would recommend you to get in touch with Microsoft support as well .
Meanwhile I'll work on it and get back to you in case I get a desired solution .

  • Email photo as attachment to open with photoshop on pc

I AM TRYING TO EMAIL PHOTOS as attachment, without the photo in full view - my recipient is requesting it as an ATTACHMENT - jpeg or otherwise - he is having trouble dragging it off - and opening it into photoshop - he's not a MAC guy (pity him) - but he can't seem to get my photos into photoshop - I've even tried sending them through my kodakgallery website as an album.
And I've used the print menu to make them pdf - but then he says they only open in Acrobat Reader ...

  • IPhone: Sending a picture as an attachment, not embedded within the email?

    Hello Community,
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to e-mail a picture from your iPhone, as an attachment? NOT embedded within the e-mail....?
My wife's e-mail client (school teacher) will not allow her to receive/view emails that have pictures embedded within the body text. She can only receive pictures if they are attached separately on the e-mail.
The only work-around I have found, is by installing the Google Mail app onto my iPhone. Google Mail will allow you to send pictures as attachments. But I do not prefer this. I would like to use the iPhone's native e-mail application.
    Thanks,
    BP

To follow up on this question, is there any way to receive *.tiff or *.jpg on an iPhone/iOS device in general as an attachment rather than imbedded in the email, and "open with" some other application, or save to an application store, like GoodReader does with say, *.pdf's?

  • Email photo as attachment

I email photos all the time out of iPhoto.  Sometimes people (usually on PC's) cannot retrieve the jpg as an attachment.  It is embedded in the email and they can't remove it or download it.  I have tried emailing it directly from iPhoto or starting in Mail and attaching as an attachment.  In both cases, it embeds in the email and they can't get it out.  I now have an important project where I HAVE to email usable pictures.  How can this be solved?
    I have iPhoto '09 vs. 8.1.2

Plain text messaes sent from Apple mail have attached photos that PC and other users can open or save and use

  • Emailing photos as attachment files

How do I attach an iphoto as a jpeg file attachment to an email that can be opened and managed by a pc windows user? All my email photos show as actual photos imbedded in the email and can't be taken out of the email by the pc user.

    Welcome to Apple discussions,
I assume you are using the built in "Email" feature of iPhoto to send your images. While the Mail window shows the images as if they were part of the body of the message, the pictures are still attached just like any other email. I use this feature to send pictures to those of my relatives that use Windows all the time.
If the person you are sending to says they do not see the pictures you can do the following (Note: This is not necessary for using Windows machines but if the person says they can't see it's all I can suggest.):
1.) Make a new folder on your desktop (File > New Folder)
2.) Highlight the pictures you are going to send to the person
3.) Go to File > Export > File Export and export the pictures into that new folder
4.) Click on the folder on the desktop and go to File > Compress
_This will create a .ZIP file with the same name as the folder.
_You can drag this .ZIP file into your email message and send it.
NOTE: If the images are too large the file will not send. Most email providers will not let you send send attachments over 10 MB. To see how big the ZIP file is, click on it once and then go to File > Get Info and note the size. If it is over 10 MB you might want to send several smaller emails with fewer pictures or when you use the File > Export feature of iPhoto change the "Size" to something smaller.
Finally, If you are a MobileMe member you could make a Web Gallery of your pictures and send that to the Windows user.
    Hope that helps.

  • Add a jpg as an attachment, not embedded

It always embeds in the email. How can I send a .jpg as an attachment?

I have tried every tip and trick I can find (dragging and dropping, going into Applications>Utilities>Terminal and typing "defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes", checking [√] Send windows-friendly attachments when clicking the paper clip icon to add an attachment) and this simple fix worked!
I removed my signature completely from the email message by going to Mail > Preferences > Signature and deleting everything I had in there. I don't think it is necessary to remove it via Preferences and a simple "delete" will do but I don't really need my signature on my personal email account anyways and don't mind losing it.
I decided to go back and remove the DisableInline command to test if that would have an impact. I restarted mail and sent a test email to my work computer which is a PC utilizing Outlook. The attachment became embedded once again. I added the DisableInline code back in, sent a test email, and voila! Attachment returned!
So, it seems the cause of this issue is multifaceted like most problems in life. If you have tried all of the options listed and are stll having issues it may just be the automated signature is the culprit. Good luck! I will be reposting this on some other forums I used to get to this point.

  • Emailing photos from mail, not iphone. How?

Is there a way to email a picture to someone directly from the mail program, if that picture was imported into iphoto- When I try to attach the picture, I am not able to locate it becuase its in iphoto. Do they do that so you HAVE to email pics from iphoto?

    No -there are many ways
if you are in iPhoto select the photo(s) and drag to the mail icon in the dock
if you are in mail create the message and look in the browse photos near the upper right of the new message - or click attack and look in the media browser in the lower left of the attach window - media ==> photos ==> iPhoto

  • External Send PO as email with PDF attachment not working

    hi,
we are using ECC6, and in txn NACT, Processing routine we can use Sapscript External send > SAPFM06P > ENTRY_NEU > MEDRUCK > PDF and in MN04/5 i create Output record, and in SCOT my PO is ready for transmission from either ME21N/2 and ME9F - works well - email sent with pdf PO attached.
<b>HOWEVER,</b> we have just created a SMARTFORM PO, and with similar settings, i cannot create External send OUTPUT!!! (Output failed in ME9F/ME23N) NACT settings External Send > /SMB40/FM06P > Z_MMPO_A > PDF
    In SCOT > SMTP > Internet X > Sapscript/SmartForm = PDF.
Does special code need to be entered into Smartform to generate PDF email similar to Sapscript? Any code would be appreciated.
    regards Adam

    Hi,
You need to build a code to create the Spool OTF output into PDF.
This can be done in Print program, which converts the spool into PDF & sends a mail with PDF attachment.
    Please refer this sample program:

  • Outlook Email photos are visible in IE but not on Firefox, why?

Outlook Live email photos that are not attachments are missing from emails. If I open the same in IE, they are there. How do I fix?

The images might be embedded as CID (Content-ID) (src="cid:image") that link to an image that is attached to the message.<br />
Firefox doesn't handle images embedded that way.
You would need an email program like Thunderbird to see the images.

How do I get back the ability to send emails with photos embedded. I like adding the frames and backgrounds and I think it's easier for recipients to look at the photos. I had a similar problem in that my wife's iphone 5 could not send pics with imessage.  Had to set the settings to default to SMS or whatever.  After laboring many hours on the web I coincidentally was on the phone with the internet people to question my internet speed.  They changed the router channel, which is something that I am capable of doing myself.  After that, the pics go over imessage.  My own Iphone didn't have the problem.  We are both latest IOS 7.0.6.

    Yes there is,
When you recieve a mail with an attachement (inline or as a picture) right click (or control click) the attachement and choose "show as symbol" or "show fullsize" (or completely or something like that, I don't work in English version). Mail will take this as a general preference.

  • Is there away to send an email message on the ipad with a photo attachment "not" inline in the message?

I need to send an email message on the ipad with a photo as an attachment "not" inline in the message?  I do not want the photo embedded in the email message.  I'm using exchange on the ipad.

Apple Mail will display attachments that are one page or less. While the photo will be displayed it is sent as an attachment. The recipient can click and drag the photo to their desktop just like any other attachment.
