Email Photos as Attachments from Lightroom 5

Is it possible to email photos as attachments (jpg), not embededed within email?  Mac users report when they receive the email, photo is only embedded, there is no attachment so they cannot download.

Is it possible to email photos as attachments from Lightroom?  If so, how?  When I use the export function in Lightroom to email photos, they are imbedded in the email (gmail), not attached as separate files.

  • Can I send Edited Photos and Video from Lightroom 5 to Premiere 11?

I am new to Lightroom 5 and love the product. Can I export edited Photos and Video from Lightroom to Premiere Elements 11? I need more flexibility than Lightroom offfers. I want to mix Photos then Videos with different music files and create a DVD.  Thank You...Rory...

Also, can I load the Lightroom itself onto an external hard drive and keep all my images off my laptop? If I edit them, do the edits remain on my laptop regardless of where the originals reside. I think that's the issue that I'm running into with Aperture:  edits stay on my laptop even though originals are on an external HD.
Your photos can be on any hard disk, internal or external or network. If they are stored on an external hard disk, then when you import them into Lightroom, you select the ADD option and the photo will remain on your external hard disk. The edits are stored in your Lightroom catalog (as opposed to "remain on my laptop"). Once you import photos into Lightroom, you no longer want to manage them (move, copy, delete) using your operating system. You do all photo management in Lightroom.
If you transfer the photos properly, your edits, cropping, metadata, etc. will transfer to Lightroom, but I will leave the details to some expert on Aperture.
If I could offer some advice, I don't think you want to just transfer SOME of your photos to Lightroom. In my opinion, you want ALL of your photos managed by Lightroom, and not some in application 1 and some in application 2. This makes your life much easier when trying to find your photos, you don't have to think "Is this photo in Lightroom or is this in Aperture?"  (Note: this doesn't mean you have to import all the photos from Aperture into Lightroom in one HUGE operation; you can certainly do the importing in manageable sized groups)

  • PSE 12 Emailing photos as attachments...not working!

When I try to email photos as an attachment, it freezes and does nothing. I used this option a few weeks ago and had no problem.

    Hi,
Which operating system are you running on?
Which email client have you specified in Preferences - Sharing?
At what step does it freeze?

  • Emailing photo booth pics from mail!! and photobooth effects

hi all, enjoying Leopard but can't work something out. in photo booth you can email photos no bother within photobooth, but if your in mail and open the media browser and click on photo booth none of the pics i've taken since Leopard(and i think some before) are included?
and does anyone else feel that the effects work far better in ichat than they do in photo booth.
and what happened to the effect where you can be someone else(i think they did it with the microsoft dude in the keynote)

This is why you need to backup, preferably more than one.
You can try using a Data Recovery program.

  • Emailing photos as attachments rather than embedded in email text

    Hi
I have set my mail preferences to send emails as plain text rather than RTF.
    Here is what happens
Route 1) I export a photo from iphoto to my desktop, then open the Mail program, create a new email to my friend who uses Outlook on WIndows, and ATTACH the photo from my desktop. Whilst from my mac end, it looks as though the photo is embedded in the text of the email, when my friend receives it in Outlook, the photo is "attached" just as I wanted it to be, and is not embedded in the text. So route 1 works
Route 2) I select the photo in iphoto and click the Email icon within iphoto at the bottom right of the screen. The email program opens and the photo appears (as before) to be embedded in the email text rather than attached. This time when I send this to a friend using outlook on Windows, the email arrives with the photo still embedded in the body of the email, and not as an attachment. So this route does not work
Any ideas why route 2 is overriding the preference settings an sending in RFT (assuming that is what it is doing)? Can I change this?
Is there a way to make the "Email" icon in Mail work the same way - i.e. to attach the photo as an attached file rather than embed in the text of the email?
I ask because I send photos for people to save in original size and format so they can print - embedded photos in the text are no good for this
    Thanks

You should deselect having iPhoto include any caption or file names. Having those following each photo is likely the source of this behavior. When sending to such recipients, you should have all attachments last in the message, and with no text following or between them.
Also, when the message appears in the Compose window, an extra safeguard is to then click on Format in the menubar, and choose Make Plain Text. I use Aperture, rather than iPhoto, and always do this step, and would also do with iPhoto.

  • Email photos or video from camera roll

Aside from some items mentioned previously in this forum, ie. signal strength droping based on the way it is held, which i am also noticing, i am having one problem and maybe a setup item i need. When i attempt to email a video i made on my i4, it says it compresses it, then i put in the email address, but it never sends it. I also tried just a photo in camera roll and it doesn't email either. I have done several resets etc. Is there a setting i need? Any other suggestions? I always did this with my 3g.
    Thanks

that is where my emails were stuck. i reviewed my smtp settings and they were ok, but the password wasn't there, it didn't carry over when restored from my 3g. going to the email account and putting in my password and immediately my outbox sent all the emails that were stacked up. i missed it first time checking, settings, mail, selected my email account and saw my incoming pop server and it showed the password field still filled in. my smtp had correct information and then realized i needed to select the advanced to see the outgoing screen where the password is kept, and it was blank.

  • Emailing Activities with attachments from SAP

Our customer is on 88 PL 18 using MS Outlook 2010.  They are using Outlook integration.
They send out Activities from SAP throughout the day.  A few of the sales members notice when they have several attachments included in the Activities and sent it as an email from SAP they get an error of B02069, Failed to send E-mail via Microsoft Outlook.    The latest example was 4 attachments in a Activity.  It is not a size limit issue as the 4 attachments only totaled 2 mg yet the error noted above popped up.
Is there a limit on the number of attachments in Activities.  Could this be an issue with the B1_shr folder?
Tried this and no go, Re: Outlook message sending

    Hi,
The size of 2mb might be matter here. Have you checked if you have any bigger size email message sent out without problem in regardless of number of attachments.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Emailing Photos to Iphone from Laptop

When Emailing myself photos from my laptop to my iPhone 5, the pictures came out blurry. The pictures stayed blurry even when I used original size in iPhoto sharing.

When emailing from your laptop click email in iPhoto, then when it opens a new email, check the bottom of the email and you will see a note saying what size the photo is in, change the size to actual size again.

  • Edit Photo in Photoshop from Lightroom

    Hello,
I had a hardware problem and had to reinstall LR 3.6 and PS Creative Suite 4.  I've used the programs for years now and never had this problem.  When I'm in LR, I click on "Photo - Edit in Photoshop" and it should take me to Photoshop and open the photo so that I can continue to edit it.  It opens Photoshop, but does not open the photo.  I didn't know if it was an installation problem or a user problem, so I entered it here first.
    Thanks very much.

Thanks Rick.  I was away and didn't get a chance to respond to this right away.  For some reason, I think the issue had something to do with Lightroom 3.6.  Before anyone had responded to my question, I downloaded 3.3 and it was fine.  Thanks for your comment.

  • Editing photo in photoshop from lightroom 4

When in lightroom 4,  selecting a photo and choosing edit in photoshop, sometimes a dialog box opens asking if I want to open original or copy with lightroom edits and sometimes it just opens in photoshop without the options. Anyone know why that is

    Hello!
If you open a non-raw image such as TIFF, PSD, or Jpeg in Lightroom, you will prompt the dialog box to open asking to "edit a copy with lightroom adjustments", "edit a copy", or "edit a original".
If you open a raw image using the additional external editor option, the only available option is to edit a pixel-rendered copy using Lightroom adjustment: "edit a copy with lightroom adjustments".

  • Edit Photos in PS from Lightroom

    Hello all,
I import photos into LR that reside on DVD using the reference files in there current location option. I then begin the edit process referencing the files on the DVD. It appears that LR will not allow you to use the edit photos in photoshop option when the files reside on a CD/DVD. Is that correct? Is there a work around to allow photos that reside on CD/DVD to be editted in PS using the option within LR? Thx ...

    eosBenR,
When you select the menu item "Edit image in Photoshop..", you should be given choices in a dialog box, one of which is to edit a copy of the file. Choose this and you'll be able to edit. You will then have to save this edited file - eventually to CD/DVD if you prefer.

  • I cannot edit a photo in photoshop from lightroom?

Command E does not work?  I have downloaded and reinstalled both programs without success?

Others have this same problem. See discussion at Re: Photoshop CS6 does not open or create files
I finally got CS6 to work but have no idea what I did that caused it to start working properly again.

  • Photoshop is changing the name of images imported from Lightroom.

Today I sent a batch of photos to Photoshop from Lightroom (via the Edit In menu selection). When I completed the work in Photoshop I selected SAVE, as I always do, only the photos are returning to Lightroom with a new file name instead of the same name (as always in the past) with a .psd suffix. Has there been a change to Photoshop CC I am not aware of. Both programs are up-to-date.

Thanks for looking at my problem. When I looked carefully at the new name (thanks dj for telling me to do that) I realized that the name had parts of what I had added as a preset and applied in External Editing. What appears to have happened is that my original preset was corrupted and dropped out the part that told it to use the original file name. I have repaired it and now all is well. Thanks for the responses and the help! Much appreciated.

  • Can't open CS6 from Lightroom 4.1

I updated my Lightroom to 4.1.  I also have Photoshop cs6(extended) installed.  When I try to send  photo from 4.1 to Phoshop, I get a message offering me photshop cs4 as the path.  It states that edit in c:\program files\Adobe\ Adobe PhotoshopCS4 is not a valid path.  I don't have CS4 on my computer.  It was removed when I upgraded to CS5.  When I was using CS5 I had no problem passing a photo to it from Lightroom.  I have also uninstalled CS5 after upgrading to CS6.  What can I do to get both Lightroom 4.1 and Bridge6 to transfer photos to Photoshop CS6?  I am stuck and don't know what to do.

If using Windows platform it's almost certain that there is still  a reference to CS4 in your registry file. Normally this wouldn't matter after installing a newer version, but in this instance you've since uninstalled CS5, and probbaly some of the regeistry entries associated with CS6 (references to common files), whcih means that Lr defaults back to the only version the registry says is available (CS4 in this instance). The normal fix is to reisntall CS6
