Email previews, but displays nothing when open.

I was having no issues with my email until recently (since the latest two updates.)
When I go to all inboxes, it shows my emails, and has previews that are legible. If I click on one of the emails, it goes into that email, but only shows From, To and the date.
I reset my phone, and when I went into mail, it had to download all messages again, and showed them as new. I went into each of them and read them. The next time I went into my mail again, the above issue resurfaced.
Any ideas?

I too am having the same problem. It started yesterday afternoon. It was working fine after my last software update. I'm on the Bouygues network in France. Any ideas how to fix it?

    Hi MIXAYA,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  In OS X, by default apps will open with any previously opened documents opening as well.  To disable this feature, select "Close windows when quitting an application" from System Preferences > General.  To learn more, see this article:
    OS X Mavericks: General preferences

Close windows when quitting an application
If you quit apps with windows still open on your screen, selecting this checkbox prevents the windows from reopening automatically the next time you start their app.

  • How can i fix my iphone 3g if and only it displays the apple logo when it is connected to its charger but it displays nothing when the charger is removed?

Plug it into a wall outlet and leave it plugged in for approximately 20 minutes.
Then try a reset by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds.
Does the device power on at this point?  If not, the battery or logic board is gone.
Take it to Apple for evaluation.
It may be worth replacing the battery, but I personally wouldn't spend the $149US for an Out of Warranty replacement on a 3+yr old device.

  • PDFs not displaying images when opened in Google Chrome.

My PDFs are not displaying images when opened in Chrome. They do display in other browsers and when saved to the desktop. I have tested on multiple machines. Is there a problem with how they are saved? Here is a test: http://www.omnils.com/userfiles/files/Brochures/KL-003_REV_0914_APEX_CR_SPEC_SHEET_lo.pdf

"... a known Chrome issue."  The resolution lies with Google for this - nothing you can do (other than disable the "in house" browser add-on and enable Adobe's (if you have Reader or Acrobat installed)).
A similar issue exists with other, contemporary, browser releases.
The "fix" is these software houses to deploy PDF viewer browser add-ons that actually comply with ISO 32000.
Perhaps their lazy approach reflects the attitude of "Hey, Adobe will get the hit not us."
Provide your users a feed-back mechanism; you'd be able to respond with the suggestion that they ping on the appropriate software houses to provide adequate software.
    Be well...

I want to change my Apple ID because I have a new email address, but what happens when someone tries to facetime me using my old Apple ID? Will they still be able to contact me on facetime using my old Apple ID?

Not if you change the ID.  You would need to give them the new address.

  • Unable to sign into icloud.  Accepts username & password but does nothing when clicking on arrow.

I am trying to sign into icloud on my pc.  It will let me enter my username and password but does nothing when I click the arrow to sign in.  Also, I can't select the "keep me signed in" box.  When I click on either it does nothing.

I would suggest to restore Apple TV again to factory settings.

  • Just intalled Creative Cloud on my mac, it launches but displays nothing and seems to refresh indefinitly. What to do?

    Hello,
I just purchased a Creative Cloud Lightroom + Photoshop subscription and installed Creative Clood. It launches but displays nothing and seems to refresh indefinitly. What to do?
Here is what I get :
Nothing happens. It keeps on turning. What should I do?
    Thx!
    Quentin Giroud

Found that. Worked for me :
    Close the Creative Cloud application.
    Navigate to the OOBE folder.
    Windows: [System drive]:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
    Mac OS: /Users/[user name]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE folder
    Delete the opm.db file.
    Launch Creative Cloud.

  • Images look fine in Bridge, but way off when opened in Photoshop

Not sure what I've done to my system, but am now having some color-management woes. I am using Photoshop and Bridge CS5.1, and for some reason, the color-management is not consistent between Bridge and PS... although it used to be until just recently. I am on a Mac Pro tower with a properly calibrated monitor (using an Eye One Pro), and all my other color-managed applications are behaving just fine, but I have this discrepancy now within Adobe where if I view an image in Bridge, it looks correct, but when I open that same image in Photoshop, it comes up way too light and desaturated. I have verified that a correct profile is embeded in each image, but this happens regardless of the source file. I have opened up grayscale images with a dot gain or gamma profile embedded, images with no profile embedded, sRGB and Adobe 1998 profiled images, and they all open up too bright. It seems like some kind of conversion must be happening, but I can't understand what that would be. Color Settings is set to preserve embedded and ask when opening for mismatches, but that's the same as it's always been on my system. I understand without a "suite" install, I cannot access the Creative Suite Color Settings dialog to sync color across multiple Adobe apps, but things have been fine for years between my PS & Bridge, so clearly I've done something wrong. It's also worth noting that RAW images in Bridge open up looking identical in the Photoshop RAW processing dialog, so somehow this is more related to TIFF, PSD & JPEG files.
I have used the Cocktail app for general system maintenance on my Mac, and in the dialog to delete old cahce files, I do recall it had an option to clear Color Sync cache (along with a bunch of other caches), so maybe that "clean up" somehow dirsupted my color matching abilities?
I was on CS5 when I noticed this problem, so I tried uninstalling that, downloading the slightly newer CS5.1 and re-installing, but the problem persists. Maybe the uninstaller app doesn't get rid of all the hidden support files, or maybe this is something else entirely? Have trashed prefs files and relaunched, still same problem.
Note how image on right is much lighter, shadows start to look posterized, colors lose saturation. Left is Bridge and Right is Photoshop. Screenshot done on calibrated monitor.
    Thanks for any suggestions!

Thanks for your reply. Screenshot of my Color Settings attached. These are the same settings I've been using for many years.
What's most interesting is your reminder to look at Soft Proofing. I normally only use that when prepping an image for print, and want to predict what different paper types will "do" to my image.,, i.e. matte paper has less d-max, etc. SO, My assumption was that Soft Proofing is normally in the OFF position unless I turn it on, and/or toggle it on-off with Cmd-Y keyboard shortcut one engaged. BUT, your assessment was spot-on, in that when I opened up the View > Proof Colors dialog, it was set to Working CMYK. Not sure why, how, or when that became the default.
In all my time years with Photoshop, I've never needed to worry about soft proofing being ON without my permission, so I'm unclear how this came about. I honestly don't even know what the default has been for all the time that this was not on my radar as being a problem, I only know that when I did opt to soft proof an image, I woulp open the Proof Colors dialog, choose the appropriate device-specific paper profile to simulate, and then turn it back off when done. It would make sense to me that the default display in PS should match the (hopefully calibrated) monitor as a starting point.
Several more screenshots below, experimenting with various Proof conditions. This one is a 16-bit Grayscale image, with my usual 1.8 Gray Gamma color space embedded. This was my first experiment, not knowing what the correct default should have been (or was for many years). My assumption was that proofing the same color space as the document (G 1.8 = G 1.8), there should be no visible difference, but in fact there is. The left image is open in PS being soft proofed to it's own G 1.8 color space, and it appears visibly brighter than the same image to the right in Bridge.
Now here's the same comparison, with Proofing set to G 2.2, which should be wrong, but visually looks like a much better match.
Next I tried a color image, with Document Profile as the proof condition. Again, the Bridge image on the right looks correct, the PS image on the left looks washed out by comparison.
Here is the same image comparison, now with Monitor RGB enabled (which pulls my current monitor profile as the device to simuulate). I'd say this is either perfect, or a much better match. This also makes sense and correlates to my suspicion that PS should be showing you things in your native monitor profile until you ask it to do otherwise with a custom soft-proofing scenario.
So now that I think I've figured it out, I leave the Monitor RGB as the device to simulate, close the image, and re-open the image just to be sure, and this is what I get...
Essentially back to the same problem. I verified that View > Proof Colors is still set to my Monitor RGB, but it's as if it's not really being applied. SO, I changed it so something else, and then changed it back, and then it looks correct... as if I somehow need to kick it and remind it to do what it's already set to do.
So, the short answer is THANK YOU for reminding me to look at the proofing setup, becasue no I at least have a kind of workaround and know where to look. The tricker part is to understand why the default doesn't really stick to the Monitor RGB (if that is even the correct place for it to stay set to), and how or why did i get off into Working CMYK in the first place, as that's not a setting I've ever used on purpose.
    Thanks again,
    Eric

  • Can we display attributes when opening a form in smart view

    Hi Everyone,
If a form has attribute members in a row, the web view displays the attributes, but smart view doesn't. Is this a bug?
    Thanks,
    Sayantan

    Hi Kiran,
I am not quite sure about what you meant actually. I simply have a form which has some attributes for each member in rows. I can see the attributes for in the web view. However, when opened in Smart View, the attributes are not shown (the columns themselves are missing).
Can you please explain in detail? It would be really helpful if I can find an answer to this.
    Thanks,
    Sayantan
PS: Why would a user need to create an ADHOC query for viewing a form in Smart View?

  • Bug in Preview in Snow Leopard when opening multiple pdf files at once

I receive 50-200 pdf files by e-mail each day. I have historically saved the pdf attachments to a folder, then selected all the pdf files in the folder (CMD A), then opened all the selected files in Preview (CMD O). After updating to Snow Leopard, downloading 34 pdf files to a folder, selecting them all, then attempting to open them all in Preview (using both CMD O, then File/Open, then File/Open With), the effort first opens 6 of the 34 files. Closing all then trying again results in 7 files being opened, closing all then trying again results in 8 files being opened, etc etc. Earlier today I had the same results, but eventually got a message asking if I wanted to open all in separate windows (I did) or a single window, and it opened all the files at once as I wanted. After shutting down, moving home, and receiving additional pdf files, however, back to the same open 5, then open 6, etc. problem. Anyone else having this problem or a suggestion on how to resolve?
    Thanks for suggestions,
    B

More info - apparently the bug isn't related to Preview, but to the attempt to open all pdf files in the folder with ANY program. After having Preview open 25 of the 34 files I was attempting to open, I then tried opening all 34 with Adobe Reader. It opened 26 (after Preview had opened 25). Tried again with Preview - it opened 27, then 28 with Adobe Reader. It doesn't necessarily open the FIRST 25 (or 26, etc) either, so it's difficult to work with the open ones, then go back and work with the remaining ones later.

  • How do i retrieve data from a powerbook whose screen lights up but displays nothing? I have a firewire and a second powerbook...

how can I retrieve data from my old powerbook? It's screen lights up, but displays only pixelated blankness. I have a second powerbook and a firewire cable....

It would probably be correct to assume that both PowerBook computers are equipped with FireWire. The article below could possibly be of interest to you. With a bit of luck, the old computer will be recognised.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1661
Otherwise, it may become necessary to open the old PowerBook and remove the hard drive. The drive can then be connected to an appropriate external USB adapter, and read via another Mac.

  • Love Preview, but need Reader to open PDFs

    Love Preview---BUT---
How can I set Adobe Reader to be my DEFAULT PDF reader for ALL PDFs?
Right now Apple's PREVIEW opens every PDF automatically.
How can I change that from happening everytime?
    regards...

Are you viewing in Preview or Reader? On my system, the Preview window dictates the size of the text/images sizes. If the window is moused larger, the text and images increase in size. If I select "Zoom In" the document increases in size. Adobe Reader behaves the same way. You might check your Preview/Reader preferences for potential causes.
    Regards,

When I try to open a link from an email it gives me a choice to open but when I choose open it won't! I used to be able to click right on a store or anything and it  would open connect to the store.  Very strange

    Hi
It shows just 4 always as an option in the "open with" lsit. Also I haven't downloaded any apps for a while so why would it start now?
Do you know how I can estabilsh how many apps are counting toward this 10 and what they are?

  • HTML signatures distorted inside the Signatures and Stationery window preview/edit field, but display fine when used

I created an HTML signature and imported it into Outlook 2010/2013 by placing the .htm file into my %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Signatures folder. The signature looks and works great, however the signature looks distorted / severely squished in width when attempting
to view the signature in the Signatures and Stationery window within Outlook. What would be causing this? Is this a common issue when using .htm signatures?
It isn't too big of an issue as the signatures do work as expected when in normal use, however some users would like to tweak theirs using Outlook's built in editor and are not currently able to.

In my experience at least, that's a normal behaviour. The editor isn't fully WYSIWYG so if you do anything complicated in there it won't always give an accurate representation of what will eventually be output when you insert it into a message. I've seen
the same thing with signatures copied from elsewhere, displaying fine in the email but not in the editor, so it's not restricted to imported .htm files.
