EMail problems on my iPhone

Hi everyone,
Hopefully this isnt too confusing:
I am using my iPhone to access my blueyonder email account. It works fine at home - I can send and recieve emails on my iPhone using WiFi etc.
Away from home I can receive emails using WiFi etc but cannot send emails.
Any ideas on how I can solve this?
Hope everyones well
Dan.

Go into settings, then mail contacts and calendars and select your email account. Under the account info, the first option you should see is outgoing mail server. Tap on that, which brings up the SMTP screen. Turn off the primary server, then make sure the AT&T smtp server is already turned on under other SMTP servers.

  • Weird Yahoo Email Problem on my iPhone

Okay, so I have been using my Gmail (IMAP) and another email account (POP) on my iPhone for the past few months with no problems... So I decided to add my Yahoo account (IMAP) onto my phone and now I have a weird problem with it, the inbox seems to be stuck. When you go into the inbox, it only shows the latest email (only the one if there are actually many emails in there) and I cannot access it. It's like split halfway on the screen. I know it still 'talks' to Yahoo, cause the message will change depending on what latest email I have is. And when you go out of the App, it shows a -1 on my mail icon. The other folders I have in my Yahoo account come over fine and I can access them normally, it is just my inbox itself that is all wonky.
I tried deleting the account multiple times and even adding it on as a POP account (which I ran into problems of not being able to send mail), but I really want the access to all my folders via the IMAP.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix it?!

You might want to reset your Yahoo! account by changing your Yahoo! password. Here are the instructions I received from Yahoo! customer service for a different issue that I had:
    1. Delete the Yahoo! ID on currently on your iPhone.
    2. Turn off your iPhone.
    3. Sign in to Yahoo! with your PC and change your password. Many errors are caused by the way the iPhone encrypts some characters. Please ensureyour new password has no special characters (any character which is not a letter or a number, such as @ or *). This will reset our registration system and ensure that Apple treats your ID as a new connection.
    4. Turn your iPhone back on.
    5. Set up your Yahoo! Account on your iPhone using the "Yahoo!" option. Please make sure that you enter your new password when setting up the account.

    Sorry for the delay...
I did what you've told me, new account and manually copied my files from Time Machine. I had lots of permissions problems, but at the end, almost everything is in order... It seems it had to be with some of the Apple Preferences, but I can't be sure, as most of them were dumped to the trash can.
I still don't have my Mail Rules back, unfortunately, although I did goggled some. It is a pity, as I had around 30 or 40 of them, getting my mail in order to each of its mailboxes, but it is a small price as the rest doesn't show the before syntoms.
    Thanks for the help, anyway!!

  • TS3899 I have a problem with emails disappearing from my iphone. These are emails that I have put into folders to keep. When I go back to get them they are gone. Need help please.

I have had issues with my iphone deleting emails without my consent. It seems as if it doesn't want to hold onto emails for an extended amount of time. I use my iphone for all work related emails and personal. I have created folders to store important emails in related to work. I found when I need to retrieve those emails, they simply are not there. I was told to delete the email account from my iphone, then to add it back into phone. I have done this and things seem fine, then after a few days it no longer works. I have researched this topic and see that I am not the only one with this problem. From what I can find no one seems to have the answer. Please help?

Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Tap email account in question > nMail days to sync > extend the time

  • I'm having problems with excessive email usage on my iphone 4/ios 7. Just noticed that (settings/usage) it was using 900  mb. I deleted all my mail, deleted the mail account, and it still says it's using 661 mb. My ipad uses a fraction of that.

I'm having problems with excessive email usage on my iphone 4/ios 7. Just noticed that it (settings/usage) was using 900+ mb. I deleted all my mail, deleted the mail account, turned the phone off and back on, downloaded any remaining mail on the server to Outlook on my computer, and it still says it's using 661 mb. My ipad uses a fraction of that.
Background: I recently (December) bought an ipad and set up icloud for contacts and calendar, but NOT mail. My email provider is Verizon. I use computer, iphone, and ipad to check my email; eventually I download it from the server using Outlook on the computer and then delete any remaining emails from the phone and ipad. I can't find info on this problem anywhere.

    Howdy there COUGAR444,
It sounds like your iPad all of a sudden seems to be restarting out of no where. If you haven't called AppleCare yet, I would start with quitting either the app that seems to be causing the issue, or all the apps if a single doesn't seem to be the culprit.
iOS: Force an app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
If the issue persists, backup your device to iTunes, then restore it as new and verify that it works.
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Regards,
    Sterling

    Hey Garlicdaisy,
Thank you for the follow up.
With iCloud, you can have iTunes automatically download new music purchases to all your devices the moment you tap Buy. You can also access past music, movie, and TV show purchases from any of your devices — wirelessly and without syncing.
For more information, see the following:
Apple - iCloud - All your music on all your devices.
    http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/itunes-in-the-cloud/
To download past purchases on your devices, follow these steps:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
If you want the benefits of iTunes in the Cloud for music you haven’t purchased from iTunes, iTunes Match is the perfect solution:
    Apple - iTunes - Match

    Thanks,
    Matt M.

You might want to try contacting Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click See All Products and Services>iTunes>iTunes Store>Passwords & Security Questions>Lost or Forgotten Apple ID password.  They should be able to explain what's going on and help you reset the password for the old ID if necessary.  The call should be free.

Hi - I cannot upload my emails through the mail icon.  The first time I tried it only loaded very old emails, I then tried the whole process again and it has not imported a single email.  I use hotmail, and have had no problems with my iPhone or iPad.  So the only way I can check my emails on my mac is to go through the internet.  Can anyone help?

    Hello, do you mean Download?
In Mail's Window Menu, choose Connection Doctor, any red dots for status, if so what is the message?
Then click the Show Details button & Check again.

  • Iphone 3g pop3 email problems when having more than 1 email account.

sending emails from more than one pop email account...
after checking and re-checking settings for pop email accounts [ follow the apple settings example for setting the first email account] i found that the iphone 3G does not support having more then one smtp server in other words it does not supports - different smtp servers.] so the only way to make two or more email accounts to work correctly is to use only one smtp server for all the email accounts and this will allow to send emails from more than one email account.
i think this is a bug on the iphone 3G......!!

I access two email accounts with the iPhone's Mail client - an IMAP account and a POP account. The accounts have different authenticated SMTP servers and I have no problems sending with either account.

  • Email problems - iPhone 4 - folders missing and locking out

Hi, I have just upgraded by iPhone to the new model. Just set it up but I have problems with email. It seems to upset my email on my normal computer (cannot sign in) and my sub folders in my inbox don't show up on my iPhone.
Any ideas? I am not very techy..
    Thanks
    Steve

Is the account an Exchange, IMAP, or POP account?
Did you transfer the backup for your previous iPhone to your new iPhone?
If so, try deleting and manually recreating the email account on your iPhone. If you have Sync Email accounts selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, deselect this followed by selecting Apply before deleting and manually recreating the account on your iPhone and leave this deselected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.

  • IPad / iPhone / Outlook 2003 email problems

    Hi,
I have an issue with btinternet emails being available on all 3 devices.
Having changed the iphone and ipademail accounts to yahoo accounts the "account in use on another device" issue has now been resolved.  However the issue i am now facing is that once outlook downloads all emails those emails then disappear from the iphone and ipad leaving the inboxes empty.
I have read through a number of suggestions and it seems that Outlook 2003 needs to be set up as an Imap account for incoming mail to synchronize with btinternet and ensure the same emails remain on the iphone / ipad.
Does anyone have any details or can the MODs help me with setting up my outlook 2003 account to imap in order to resolve this problem?
    regards,
    LP

My android phone has an option to remove messages from the phone when they are deleted from the server. If the iphone has similar maybe you just need to uncheck it.

  • Iphone email problem-has anyone had a problem caused by the VPN app, Hotspot Shield?

Has anyone had an iPhone email problem associated with the VPN app, Hotspot Shield?

I just want to make a record for the Apple Community. After installing Hotspot Shield on my iPhone 5, I developed a host of email problems including erratic reception and recurrent failures to send emails. I called Apple Support and, after standard repair measures failed (like deleting email accounts and reinstalling them) was advised to try deleting Hotspot Shield.
Removal of Hotspot Shield was unexpectedly difficult (simple deletion of the icon that works with other Apps did not suffice). With the help of Apple Support, the Hotspot Shield app was finally eradicated. The result was that all the email problems disappeared.
Again, I just wish to make this record of iPhone email trouble clearly caused by Hotspot Shield available in case someone else runs into the same problem. I did not contact Hotspot Shield but the point is that I began with an email problem that was mysterious to Apple Support and we finally traced it to a recent installation of Hotspot Shield.
