Email problems with Ipad

I have an email acc with Virgin I use outlook365 on a pc to view my msgs. I also have an ipad and set up my acc on it so I could received my messages on my ipad.  This has stopped working and will only download msgs from 2 months ago and beyond??? My email is working perfectly on my PC? I have deleted my account and added it again o no avail.

I wonder if Virgin changed something 2 months ago.  Take a look at your account settings there, as well as on your pc.  There is a setting on some accounts that tells your mail provider to delete from server once the message has been dowloaded.  If that setting is on, and your outlook client downlads the message, it may be deleting them before they ever get to the pad.     Is this is a pop account, that may be the issue.  If this is an Imap account, not so likely.  hmm.

  • Outlook email problems with ipad

    I receive emails on my Outlook (hotmail) account, but cannot reply nor can I send a new email.  I get a message that says "Sorry, it looks like an error occurred.  Please try again."  And when you click on "ok" you go back to the inbox.  I have tried hard re-booting, deleting the account and adding it back in.  I have tried syncing with ITunes (recommended by Apple Support).  Nothing has worked so far.  Anyone have any suggestions other than these?  Thank you.

    I saved my email acct under the mail settings using other rather than outlook.com.  Then I went to outlook.com to save the link on my home screen.  Yes, I receive mail, but am unable to reply or initiate a new email.  Yes, that's the only error message I get.  I am not that knowledgeable about this device...have only had 3 months, so I dont know how to go to a web based version of Outlook to do what you describe.  Thanks.  Any help is appreciated.

    I am having email problems with the new Mountain Lion.  stmp, imap, etc. I have looked up google info and It is confusing when it comes to TS, SSL also, please explain how to set it up so my email goes out and comes in securely.  Help
    Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - requires SSL:
    imap.gmail.com
    Use SSL: Yes
    Port: 993
    Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS:
    smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
    Use Authentication: Yes
    Use STARTTLS: Yes (some clients call this SSL)
    Port: 465 or 587
    Account Name:
    your full email address (including @gmail.com) Google Apps users, please enter username@your_domain.com
    Email Address:
    your full Gmail email address ([email protected]) Google Apps users, please enter username@your_domain.com
    Password:
    your Gmail password
    The Quick Answer
    Follow the instructions below to set up IMAP1 access in most email clients.
    Google Apps users, please follow the default instructions unless otherwise noted, replacing 'your_domain.com' with your actual domain2 name.
    this is all greek to me. WHAT IS STARTTLS? On the first page of Apple set up there is a TLS certificate and it is marked NONE- should I change it to the long APPLE CERT option?  The next page under ADVANCED: THERE IS A BOX SSL MARKED.  Then IMAP Path Prefix - I put stmp.gmail.com.. is that right?  Port 993 can  use this one? as 456 doesn't work and 587 said it wasn't safe.  Under AUTHENTICATION I used PASSWORD.  Should I have used external client cert TLS?
    Please help me set this up securely. Thanks

    gianlucastr,
    an EXC_BAD_ACCESS exception type with a KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE exception code typically has one of two causes — either a programming error, or faulty RAM. If this was due to a programming error, then you can check to see if there’s an applicable patch to your version of Outlook, or wait for the next Mavericks update from Apple, to see if either of these would fix this problem. If it’s due to faulty RAM, then you can try running your MacBook Pro’s Apple Hardware Test to see if it can detect any RAM problems. (It’s not able to detect all possible RAM problems, so no error detected by the AHT is not a guarantee of non-defective RAM.)

    Congrats on the new iPad! It's a great device! We certainly want you to be able to use the device as soon as possible. If I may ask, were you still having issues connecting to the data network at all? Activation can take be a bit longer the initial time. Please let us know if you still need assistance.

    I'm having problems with iPad 2 and my smart cover.  The attachment seems to be depolarized, trys to connect using the back (curved) edge of the magnetized bracket.  When I try to attach it, it moves around causing the device to toggle in a way that looks like the camera flash.  Anyone having problems? Help.

    Update. My carrier says the antenna of my iPhone 4s is not so good as the one in the iPhone 3G. They can't solve the problem. Their signal is too weak for the 4s at places I spend most of my time. Not the answer I expected, but I'm free to choose an other carrier. Hope this will help.
    This was not the correct answer, I accidentially clicked the button..

    You may have to do this several times.
    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
  • Problem with iPad connecting to Microsoft email systems?
    I have just received the message below from our IT department but can find no reference to this on the web. Does anyone know any more about it?
    Thanks
    Les
    "Unfortunately, an email problem has been identified which is affecting all organisations who synchronise Apple mobile devices with Microsoft email systems. This problem is with Apple in California for resolution.
    IT Services have tried to manage the issue for the last couple of days to maintain a core service but this is becoming increasingly difficult and the service is degrading to unacceptable levels.  In order to restore a quality service for the majority it is necessary to temporarily suspend the email synchronisation services to most Apple users e.g. iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch.
    Other universities and organisations are implementing similar measures.
    Remote access to email will still be available as usual via Outlook Web App and desktop ANYWHERE.
    We will restore full email services to Apple users once a fix has been received and tested."
  • Email problem with the iPad
    Hello, I am having a problem with my email on my iPad... Whenever someone tries to send a picture message on my email, It will show an attachment when I open it but the picture will not show. Also, the subject of the email is Thread-index (with a bunch of letters and numbers)
    Thanks
    Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!
  • Email signature problem with iPad Air
    I have a signature in my iPad email that is simply my name, a dashed line, then "Sent from my iPad Air".  The problem is when anyone (including me on a different email account) reads an email from my iPad, my name and dashed line are the same font type and size as in the body of my email.  But the last line of my three-line signature, is much larger.  Here's a screenshot:
    I have a similar signature in my iPhone 5S but it works just fine.  Here's a screenshot of this signature:
    This makes absolutely no sense to me at all.  Both the iPhone 5S and iPad Air have iOS 7, latest updates, and the signatures were typed into the signature box in Settings...not pasted in.  Hopefully, someone has seen this before, but Googling it got me nothing.
    No, they're the same.  That's just the way I cut off the screenshot.  I just confirmed that I can can copy/paste my signature into the signature box on my iPad or iPhone and it retains the font, size, etc. of where I copied it from.  It does NOT appear to have retained them, but when I send a test email from the iPad the changed fonts show up.
    I'll try clearing the signature box again, though I've done this before, and type in my signature again.  It might work.
  • Problems with iPad and mifi email and FaceTime
    Hello, I recently purchased a wifi iPad, I have a Verizon mifi hotspot. Everything seems to work fine except for it will not let my yahoo emails through and FaceTime drops out a lot. As there anything I need to do in the mifi as far as port forwarding or something?
        Hi Andertom,
    I'm here to help. What MiFi device do you have? Are you not able to send or receive your Yahoo email on your iPad only when connected to the MiFi?
    Did this just recently start or has this always been an issue? Please provide additional information so I can better assist.
