EMail program for iMac for BT Yahoo -

My Apple MAIL programme continually demands a password! The BT Yahoo web App is cluttered with silly large ads.  I have tried Thunderbird, but BT Help agree it often does not work with BT Yahoo.  Can anyone recommend a reliable mail programme?  Where can I get a free download of Outlook Express - I hate giving Gates even more money!  I am reluctant to download just any App, like Opera for example as it might be contaminated with a virus.
regards

I have used Time Machine to restore Mail from before the time when Mail kept demanding the password.
Mail now only demands the password occasionally, which is acceptable.
The contents of my mail boxes were not altered by restoring mail.

  • Mass email program for iMac?

I apologize for posting this here. I could not find an appropriate category for this question. If you have a better idea of where I should post this, please let me know.
On my old PC I used Groupmail to send out mass e-mails. Since I've recently switched to an iMac, I want to find a similar mass email program that I can use on my iMac. (There is no Groupmail for Mac.) Any suggestions?

    Hi,
I apologize for posting this here. I could not find an appropriate category for this question. If you have a better idea of where I should post this, please let me know.
[Using Mac OS X Leopard|http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1225] might be a better place (or [Leopard Mail and Address Book|http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1223] but those refer to the built-in OS X applications, rather than the email topic in general)
    Good luck!

  • Setting up Outlook 2010 as email client for Verizon Yahoo email fails

I am trying to set up Outlook 2010 as my email client in Verizon Yahoo. I have reached the Internet E-mail Settings window in Outlook 2010 and entered the settings specified in the Verizon Yahoo! Internet Help file titled "How do I receive my VerizonYahoo! Mail using a different email program?". When I test the account settings I get an error message telling me that the server responded : 530 authentication required. Help.

Using my recently obtained Windows 8 64 bit, I have not been able to get Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer Share File Attachments or Photo Mail to work. From what I have read, Windows 8 has a problem with POP servers. But I suspect that what we are encountering goes beyond that.
At the onset, my only choice was Adobe Email Services for the Email client. After I installed Windows Live Mail 2011, I then had the choice for EMail Client of Windows Live Mail 2011 as well as Adobe Email client but neither solved the problem of no email generated.
    a. For Adobe Email Service, used three different email addresses, got valid verification codes for each, was told by the program that I was good to email, yet after the email was prepared, no email with send button was generated for emailing.
    b. I have looked at the system with two different anti-virus program...first McAfee and then Windows Defender.
    c. I have changed the send to email addresses.
    d. I have had no better luck using Windows 8 built in Mail app. In fact, my lack of success with the Photoshop Elements Photo mail feature and the Windows 8 built in Mail app was the reason for my looking for alternatives.
On a comparative note, when I use Photoshop Elements 11 in Windows 7 64 bit, I have the same problem with Adobe Email Service as the Email client. However, if Windows Live Mail 2011 is the Email client, no problems..email generated and sent successfully.
So based on my result, I would say that the answer to your question
"Is there some kind of issue between Adobe organizer and Windows 8?"
    is Yes.
If Photoshop Elements 11 support says there should be no problem with this feature in Windows 8, then I would also be interested in knowing the details of its use of the feature to get the expected Photo Mail and File Attachment results.

  • POP Email Problems for ATT/Yahoo

To Everyone with ATT or subsidiary of ATT
I'm Posting this as a possible fix for people with Yahoo accounts merged with other providers.
ATT (including bellsouth and others under ATT) used yahoo mail servers. They have new servers for POP3 Mail. I believe Verizon did the same.
Check your ISP website for the latest server addresses and port settings.
For AT&T including Bellsouth, SBC, etc., setting are:
Email server settings (POP and SMTP)
AT&T email server settings are needed if you intend to use an email program (e.g. Outlook) with your AT&T email accounts. The current settings are displayed in the table below. If you only use AT&T Webmail to access your AT&T email accounts, these settings are not needed and you can access your mail by logging in athttps://login.yahoo.com/.
If you signed up for a free att.net email account after 6/12/11, you will not be able to use an email program (e.g., Outlook) with your AT&T email account.
Note: AT&T's POP/SMTP settings have recently changed to inbound.att.net andoutbound.att.net. However, if you are using the old settings, they will continue to work.
    The following mail server settings will work with all AT&T email domains: @ameritech.net, @att.net, @bellsouth.net, @flash.net, @nvbell.net, @pacbell.net, @prodigy.net, @sbcglobal.net, @snet.net, @swbell.net, @wans.net.
    Email Program Settings Field:
    Enter:
    Incoming (POP)
    inbound.att.net
    Outgoing (SMTP)
    outbound.att.net(requires authentication)
    Incoming mail server:
    POP3
    Incoming/Outgoing User Name:
Full AT&T email address, including domain (e.g.,[email protected], [email protected])
    Incoming mail port #:
    995, secure connection (SSL) checked
    Outgoing mail port #
    465, secure connection (SSL) checked
Note: When updating the secure server settings, check the SSL check box first and then update the port number if necessary.
    In addition: Verzion settings are:
    Mail server settings
    Incoming mail server (POP3): incoming.verizon.net
    Incoming Server Port Numbers: 995
    Outgoing mail server (SMTP): outgoing.verizon.net
Outgoing Server Port Numbers: 465  Why is this important?
    Your Verizon Online user name
    Your Verizon Online password
Make sure "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" is checked.

I think you're right John, it's not in pop mail settings.
I have just added one of my accounts again to see what happens next, there is no push option, Cheers for trying to help me. John.
Just an update, I am having a text conversation with someone and that e-mail account just downloaded my e-mails ! ! I didn't ask it to... argh....

  • How do I make gmail the default email program for email links in the Mozilla browser?

In previous versions of Mozilla I was able to click an email link , for example, on a craigslist listing and it would automatically open my gmail login page or if I was already logged in it would prompt a new email (compose) with the email field already populated with the email link from which it was prompted. Hard to explain but currently it initiates an Outlook Express session which I don't use or even have configured. How is this process edited to work the way I would like it to? Thanks

  • Any working Email Program for XM5800?

    Hi,
I keep getting "Mandatory server policy failed, access refused." when trying to configure Mfe. Now at a point where i am looking at selling my XM5800.
I tried to ask our exchange admins to reduce the security, but this level is already basic and would be too risky for any organization to go below this level. I have an E61 and everything still works fine on that, it is able to access my mails and everything.
Is there any workaround, or any other email program that works for XM5800, Road Sync is Coming Soon and OMA is too Native. Please Suggest....
    Thanks in Advance
    Jiten

    Hi Jiten,
Nokia Messaging is apparently in Alpha for S60v5 - it just depends if you're prepared to wait. It seems like Nokia are holding back on upgrading Nokia Messaging until they release the touch version, so this may work in your favour. Check this link out:
    http://www.symbian-addict.com/2009/03/sneak-preview-nokia-messaging-for-nokia.html
Seven still have not announced support, but they are still in Beta in any case.

  • Best Bulk Email Program for Mac?

    I write a photography newsletter.
My distribution list is getting too large to manage in Address Book or Mail.
Anyone have any experience with IntelliMerge, Max Bulk Mailer or any of the other programs for the Mac.
I'd deeply appreciate reviews and advice.
    Thanks.

Thanks Joe.  How did you aquire Outlook for Mac?
Have you searched for a way to sync the Outlook address book with Mac's?  I also wonder if it will sync with iCal.

  • What a good email program for the Mac?

I can't use Mac mail anymore because Comcast (or somebody) has blocked some ports and Comcast can't tell me what the problem is. The problem seems to be with ingoing and outgoing ports but Comcast no longer shows an ougoing port in preferences so I can't change it. I've been using Comcast's email and it's not an option. It's too ugly and unstable.
So my question is....can some of you give me your opinions as to a good free user-friendly email client and tell me why you like it? Email is something I use real often and would like a nice program to work with.

Strangely, Comcast acted as if the Outgoing ports don't exist any more. I kept asking what the number of the port was and the Comcast person kept sidetracking me. It doesn't appear in preferences. I don't think they know anything about other email clients and can't answer our questions. I don't know why email has to be such a problem. I liked Mac mail well enough but just can't get it to work any more.
I don't know how to answer your questions and apologize for that but I do appreciate your trying to help me.

  • Is there a Video eMail program for the eMac?

I have an external video camera hooked up to my eMac and would like to use it for Video Emails. On the PC's there are several free programs, including iGoogle and MS Messenger that allow this. Yet when I try to use them on the eMac, they state they aren't compatible with PowerPC chips, only Intel-based MACs. I've searched the internet for "Free Video Email for MAC" but failed to find anything that would work on the eMac. Several would work only with iSight, which I don't have.

    (1) Perhaps you mean video chat or conference rather than video email? I no longer use a PC, but I could not see how either iGoogle or MS Messenger offers Video Email.
If you really want to send video email, all you need an OS X app that can capture a video clip. You can attach those saved clips to your email. If this is what you want to do, you likely already have an app that can capture video if your camera is compatible with your eMac.
However, if you do not already know which app you want to use to capture your video clips, take a look at this page for some candidate apps you can consider:
      http://www.ralphjohns.co.uk/EZJim/EZJimpage7.html
If you already have Apple's iMovie, QuickTime Pro, or Photo Booth, any of them can capture video for emailing provided that your camera is compatible with the app and Mac OS you are using. Other apps in the linked list might be compatible with your cameras, so, if your camera is not supported with the software you have, you may want to take a look at the system requirements and compatibility info for some of the other apps that can capture movie/video clips.
    (2) If your external video camera is either Firewire or a "UVC" device, and, if your eMac 1.25Ghz PowerPC G4 is one of those listed in this page
      http://support.apple.com/kb/SP44
your camera should work with your Mac OS X (10.5.8) without need for any driver software.
    (3) If you cannot make the desired applications work with your camera, and, if your camera is one of those listed as a "should work" in
      http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net/cameras/index.php
the macam driver you can download from the links there may let you use your camera with your existing system.
    (4) If your camera is not compatible with both the version of OS X and the applications you use, you may want to consider a different camera. For more info see:
      http://www.mac-compatible-web-cam.com/
    (5) If I have misunderstood, when you post back, please give the specifics of which camera you want to use and what app you want to use with your video camera.

  • Changing default email program for Control Click file to use Outlook

    Hi,
We have an interesting issue when when you Control click a file and select "New email with Attachment" it always brings up Mail, I want to change this to Outlook (latest office for Mac). I have checked everywhere for this setting and made sure Outlook is set as the default mail program everywhere.
Can someone point me in the right direction and this would be a quick win for out customer.
    Thanks,
    Bob James

"New Email with Attachment" is a Service provided by Mail.app. To use Outlook, you would need an Outlook service. If Microsoft doesn't provide one, it might be possible to make your own using Automator. If you search, somebody might have already done that.

  • Change email program for scan

I recently quit using Outlook.  I now use my business gmail account. Whenever I want to scan a document via email it defaults to the Outlook account.  How can I change it so that I dont have to scan to desktop and then cut and paste to google mail?

    Hi @ddimnrd
Unless your printer supports editing the email server or scanning to different email profiles (see product specifications), sending a scan directly to an email message requires that a local email client is installed and configured on your computer. Additionally, Web-based email services (Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail) must be configured through your local email client to scan directly to email.
What printer do you have?  How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
What operating system do you have? Mac or Windows?

  • Bulk Email program for Mac

I am looking for a program similar to 'sendblaster' for Mac OS X. Any recommendations or reviews. Thanks,
    Daryl

Thanks Joe.  How did you aquire Outlook for Mac?
Have you searched for a way to sync the Outlook address book with Mac's?  I also wonder if it will sync with iCal.

  • How can I change iCal's default email program for sending alerts?

Using iCal 1.5.5 with OS 10.3.9.
I have Thunderbird as my default mail client in my OS.
When I set iCal to send an alert via email it opens up Apple Mail instead of using Thunderbird which is my OS default.
Is there a way to change this so iCal will use Thunderbird?
    Thanks, Rob

I'm not positive on this and am not at my Mac right now, but I could you check if it has to do with the 'system-wide' default email client?
Follow the steps here to set the system wide email client to be Thunderbird: http://www.mariasguides.com/2007/12/21/changing-mac-os-xs-default-e-mail-applica tion/. I would quit iCal and Thunderbird first (if they are open), open Mail and complete the described steps, then open iCal and try to send an invitation.
Hopefully it works! If not, then it's not related to the default email client; my suspicion is that it would have to do with Apple simply making iCal to function this way.

  • Any Better EMail Program Out There for Macs?

I used Eudora as my email program for 10 years and loved it. Unfortunately, it became very buggy on the Snow Leopard operating system. Entire mail boxes got corrupted. So, I had to find a new mail program. I was told that Apple Mail was the best and have been struggling to have it meet my needs for the past few weeks.
Is there any other program available out there that is more like Eudora, but still supported with a new version for Snow Leopard - or at least an be run on this operating system?
    Thanks!

IMHO, Mail is the best. It will take a lot of getting used to for someone migrating from Eudora, though. I used to use Eudora as well, but gave it up years ago in favor of Mail.
Thunderbird will have some features that Mail lacks, but in turn lacks a lot of the polish and some very basic features that Mail has. For example, my wife was trying just two days ago to send a message to a subset of a group defined in Thunderbird's address book, and after ten minutes of both of us trying to figure it out, we finally gave up and she used _pen and paper_ to note the addresses. Doing this would have been trivial in Mail. These sorts of little not-uncommon niggling issues would prevent me from ever using Thunderbird myself.
You could also try [MailSmith|http://www.mailsmith.org>, which was a pretty compelling mail client once upon a time, but which I haven't looked at in many years.

  • How do I get icons for my yahoo email, Face Book, You Tube, and other sites that I use a lot?

In the past I had icons on my toolbar for my Yahoo email, You Tube, Face Book, and a lot of other sites that I use a lot, but I can't find where to get them to add to my firefox tool bar.
Also I have a lot of plug ins that I'm not sure I need, is there any way you can tell me what I need or don't need to keep?

I disabled acceleration in the flash player by linking to http://kb.mozillazine.org/Flash#Troubleshooting and scrolling to the line that specifically outlined my problem - split horizontal screen with green line - clicked on the flash link then right clicked the flash icon and ticked disable acceleration.
I also uninstalled and reinstalled more programs then I probably need to.
We will see how long it lasts* site explains it may not be permanent
