Any help would be appreciated, after 10 years as a loyal Nokia user I am now hoping that the decision to move to BB was not one I will live to regret.

When you go the BIS account on the PC, is this the place you were told to go by your service provider? My own has my carriers' logo on the page and they provided me with the login details whilst I was on the phone to them. It is THEIR responsibility to set up your BIS and to assist you.
Whether you try OTA or on the PC, you must have access to your BIS and when you finally get it, setting up the email couldn't be easier.
I cannot see why upgrading to OS 6 would affect email set-up but as you suggest, the option to put email server details in may have been removed. They are not necessary with BIS.

  • Unable to Re-establish Wireless Email Reconciliation

In a moment of insanity, I turned off wireless email reconciliation for three of my email accounts. I did this, not knowing that it is impossible to turn it back on from my device! Is there any way to fix this without deleting and then re-adding my email accounts?

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, that is the source of my issue. While I am in the Email Reconciliation menu, there is a dropdown box in which you choose which email account you want to view/change the settings for. For one account, I am able to view/change email reconcilation settings. For the previously mentioned three accounts, the screen is completely blank.. It is simply not an option. Granted, when I turned off the email reconciliation for these accounts, there was a pop-up that said I would not be able to turn it back on. I ignored it because I thought I was smarter than the Blackberry. Apparently I am not. I will delete the accounts and re-add them, I guess. It will probably take less time than searching for a different solution. I just didn't want to give in and take the easy way out... oh, well.

  • No email reconciliation settings at all

I have a blackberry torch 9800 and recently started having problems with deleting messages from both the phone and the Outlook.
When deleting the message there is a question of whether I would like to apply that to both, I press yes, but still the messages remain in the Outlook as unread messages. When I attempt to go into the settings for email reconciliation, it is just a blank screen.
I did run a test and I have added a different email address, by gmail, which surprisingly works fine. Messages get deleted on both phone and web.
This feature was working just fine, so I just don't know what to do. o2 provider sends me to Blackberry and vice versa.
    Thanks,

go to the settings below and delete the 'bad' email account and re-add it.
Please try this FIRST, using your BlackBerry browser...
    • Go to mobile.blackberry.com OR to www.blackberry.com/integrate
    • Scroll down to Communication and then to Email.
    • Choose the appropriate email set up options.
If that works and completes your email setup/editing, good.

  • Email Reconciliation Issue

    Hi-
So, I deleted and readded my hotmail account to my BIS account yesterday and not the email reconciliation is not working propery.
I am using hotmail, but previously had no issues (other than a 15 minute delay of sending emails to my handheld).
    Here is what happens:
I can delete off of my handheld and that will delete off my email account.
In fact, when I read a message on my bb, it appears as read on my outlook account.  And oddly, emails sent to my hotmail are almost instaneously sent to my BB (this was not the case before).
However, no changes in my outlook account are reflected on my BB handheld, most importantly emails that I delete on my computer (outlook, or the web based interface) are not deleted on my handheld.
    Previously:
There was two way reconciliation for deleting, but emails were delayed by 15 minutes being sent to my handheld.  However, when I read my emails on my bb, this was not reflected in my outlook or web based inbox.
I find it weaird that this change just occured when I deleted and readded my hotmail account.
    thanks in advance
    adam

No... I've never figured it out.
Something must have happened between RIM and MSFT since when I login to my BIS account, there is no longer a Trash Can icon that allows for two way reconciliation as there is for other accounts (gmail etc).
It's quite frustrating because I had two way reconciliation for years, up until June or so.
let me know if you ever figure anything out.

  • Email deletion / reconciliation no longer working after upgrade to OS 4.5

Curve 8310.  BIS, email account is OWA web access.
Before upgrade when I removed messages from the server they would automatically delete from my blackberry.  Since upgrading to 4.5 this no longer occurs and I have to delete messages from my handheld manually.
If I read a message on my blackberry it does show up as read on the server, so that reconciliation is working.  Also if I delete a message on the handheld and tell it to delete on the server (I have reconciliation set to "prompt") that is working.
Any clue about why messages deleted from the server are not automatically deleted on the handheld?
I have the following settings under "Email reconciliation":
    Delete on: Prompt
    Wireless reconcile: On
    On Conflicts: Mailbox wins
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Solved, I found both devices in the control panel and updated the drivers so happily all sorted now

  • Can I Sync Email using POP?

I have tried trouble shooting this issue with at least 4 technical people at my service provider & had conflicting information from all of them.  I have Blackberry 8703 using Outlook 2007 Desktop Manager 4.2 (I loaded & uninstalled all different versions because help desk couldn't figure out my situation), I have a POP account & NOT using Exchange or Blackberry Enterprise Server.  I have NO trouble syncing Calendar, Address book or Tasks.  Reconcile Messages is not available to me in the Desktop Manager.  I have been told I can't sync my emails with outlook.  So if I am running Outlook & I receive an email on both desktop & handheld I will have to delete it on both.
My situation is I run a personal business & would like to use my desktop when I'm at my desk & my blackberry when I'm not.  This is why I bought it.  I'm not a technical invalid I train software but have so much conflicting information I have confused myself.
    Can anyone explain please???

    Hi.
For BIS accounts the Email reconciliation is controlled from the device, but can depend on your ISP also.
Try going to Messages | Options | Email Reconciliation, and change the "delete on" setting.

  • Need help with email sync utilizing gmail...

I have the new curve 8520 and I use google sync for calendar and contacts. My question is regarding my emails syncing though. When I delete my email from my phone, it deletes from gmail, which is what I want. However, when I delete email on my my computer through gmail, it does not sync on my phone and I have to go into my phone and manually delete. How can I make my email sync up on both ends, both ways? Am I not being patient enough?

Try going into your Gmail on phone and click menu key and options... email reconciliation  and set your conflicts setting to mailbox wins and see if that helps

  • New Email notification only looks unread for about 3 minutes even if I have not read the message

I have just started using Microsft Outlook to use my yahoo account. Both of those services show a new message as unread indefinitely but for some reason, my 8310 only shows the new email as new for about 3 minutes.
In the BB Mail-Options General options - I have the Display Message count as Unread, and the Display New Message INdicator as Yes, and under the Email Reconciliation it reads On. It used to work fine but all of the sudden something has changed.
Does anyone have any tips on this issue? I would hate to miss an important new message when I am traveling.

Take it to apple store and don't replace it with the new one my son had the same problem he was in there about 10 minutes and walked out with a new phone

  • Emails are not delete from the handheld/server

    Hello,
    Our client has Blackberry 8330.
Emails are not deleted nor from the server nor from the phone. Maybe there any other setting set? Or are these settings set wrong?
    Thanks you
    He has these settings:
under Messages - Options - General Options, there's this field for "Keep message for" --> 2 months
    The Options >Email reconciliation
    Delete On: Mailbox & Handheld
    Wireless Reconcile: ON
    On Conflicsts: Mailbox Wins

    Endriuska wrote:
It looks like it only synchrozines mailbox to handheld(if deleted from mailbox, will delete from handheld), but will it delete from mailbox if the email is deleted from handheld?
As discussed in the KB I linked for you, it depends. If, in the top grid, there is a YES in the Wireless Deletion column for the subject email service AND you have further configured, as per the KB you found, for deleted item reconciliation, then yes it should delete from the server when you delete from the HH.
Note that there may be a time lag, however -- deleted item reconciliation tends to be one of the lowest priority activities inside of both BIS as well as the email providers systems...I've seen it take up to 24 hours (not normally, but that's the extreme that I've witnessed).
Further, I believe that the on-HH setting for "Keep Messages" should have no effect on the server...deleted item reconciliation is a function of the end user actually deleting from the HH...not the auto-removal by virtue of this setting.
    Hope that helps!

  • Reconcile personal Yahoo email

I am new to BB and am confused.
I am receiving my personal yahoo email messages on my BB curve 8530. This is what I want.
I delete messages on my personal yahoo account on my laptop and they are not deleted on my BB.  I would like to have the messages deleted on my BB when I delete the messages from my Yahoo mail inbox.
The Email Reconciliation settings on my BB are:
    Message Service: [email protected]
    Delete On: Prompt
    Wireless Reconcile; On
    On Conflicts: Mailbox Wins

    Hello,
Given your description, this should work...see this KB for reference:
KB05133Email reconciliation features for the BlackBerry Internet Service
However, are you sure you are deleting from the Yahoo server? I ask because you said this:
    rep48 wrote:

I cannot tell for sure if you are deleting truly on Yahoo (e.g., via their WebMail interface) or via some PC-based email client (e.g., Outlook). If a PC client, then it is likely that the PC is not configured to remove the items from the server when you delete them in Outlook (for instance). As such, the BB can never know of the deletion since all reconciliation is between the BB and the Yahoo servers...there is no reconciliation between the BB and your PC email client.
But, if you are deleting from the Yahoo WebMail interface, then I recommend removing and re-integrating the Yahoo account on your BB and again ensuring you have properly configured for 2-way reconciliation.
    Good luck!

  • Strange reconciliation issue

New blackberry curve verizon user here.  Successfully added my .edu IMAP account and can send and receive emails.
After reading messages on the curve, they show as read on outlook and on the university's webmail site.
If I delete a message on the curve, it still appears when i access my email through my computer.  If I delete the msg with my computer, it still appears on the curve.
In addition, emails sent from my curve won't appear as sent mails when i logon through my computer.  same goes for emails sent from my computer first.
Any way to fix this deletion/sent mail issue?

Does your .edu account have web access too?  Just to make sure there are no problems with your client configuration I would check through web access.
That said, under Messages > Options > Email Reconciliation
for the message service that is your edu account is wireless reconcile on and is delete on set to mailbox & handheld?

  • Outlook Blackberry Email Synchronization

I am currently running Blackberry Desktop Manager, Version 5.0, on a Vista operating system.  My calendar and contacts are synced to my Outlook Contacts and Calendar without any specific problems, however, I cannot get Outlook email to sync with the Blackberry.  My Outlook folder contains two PST files that are gmail accounts and both are working fine with gmail.  On the Blackberry Desktop Manager, the synchronization screen has a check box to "Reconcile email messages"
The check box is grayed out and I cannot select this option, therefore I assume this is why I cannot synchronize my email.
Has anyone lese encountered this problem?  Is it fixable?

HI and Welcome ot the Forums!
How, exactly, are you receiving you remails on your BB? If OTA via BIS, there usually is no reason to reconcile to your email client since your BB is reconciling to your email server (as is your email client). See this demo page for email configuration instructions:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/blackberry101/setup.jsp#tab_tab_email
Further, here is a KB that discusses PST use for reconciliation to the BB...it seems to indicate that such functionality requires that you be on BES:
KB05130 Reconcile email messages with a PST file
And here is a desctiption of various email reconciliation methods:
    KB02914 Email reconciliation methods
Good luck and let us know!

  • Email Syncing - Blackberry 8830

Our office uses an external server i.e. no server within our office or managed by us.  We use MS Office Outlook 2002 and the email accounts are IMAP.  The BBs are with Bell now but we had the same issue with Rogers as well.  When a Consultant opens an email on their BB they arrive back at their computer (either 5 minutes or a day) and the same email in Outlook at their computer will be “opened - unbold”.  When we open an email in Outlook (on our computer) and go away from the computer and refer to the BB – the BB will show that same email as unread, no matter how long it has been – an hour or a day.  Is there anyway to have the BB understand when we read an email in Outlook it should show as read on the BB as well?
Also, the BBs are set to “sync” with Outlook, so if I have 60 emails during the day and have deleted 40 the BB will only “update” the removed emails approximately every 12 hours. Can this setting be changed to every 2 hours or so?
    Thank you.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
See this KB for a description of the reconciliation features that are available via BIS:
KB05133 Email reconciliation features for the BlackBerry Internet Service
As you can see, it is working as designed (WAD). I know, I'd like it to be different as well...but it is what it is.
Your second question -- you say "sync", but that has too many possible definitions. What BIS does is reconcile to the server on a 15 minute interval basis (there are times that it goes faster, but 15 is the max). But, some actions are higher priority than others...with reconciliation of deleted items being of a lower priority. BTW -- this priority is also normally low on the server end as well -- it must present to BIS the deleted status of the message, and most IMAP environments do this also at a low priority. So, the low priority for both IMAP as well as BIS means that it'll work pretty much as you are seeing.
It is important to understand that BB's are not designed as the primary email device. Rather, they are designed as an adjunct email device, presenting you with new messages while you are mobile and allowing you to send emails while mobile as well. Reconciliation of the mailbox is of a lower priority...by design.
Also, BB's are therefore not designed to be a replica of the mail server...rather, they are as described above. This is in contrast to how other devices work (i.e., Windows Mobile, iPhone, etc.)...those try to be a replica of the server, which takes more space on the device plus puts more traffic onto the wireless network. RIM elected to take a different approach, with the results you are living with.
And, finally, no...there are no settings for you to adjust. It is what it is...by design.
Hope that clears it up for you!
    Cheers!
