I am sorry if this is not the right forum, I just could not find one for Microsoft Hotmail, so you may re-direct accordingly or help me re-direct my query.
When I try to add a new email rule through Hotmail web interface which automatically sorts emails received from saic-jobnotification@noreply.jobs2web.com
to a sub-folder, an error message is being displayed indicating that some
    characters
of this valid email address are not being accepted by Hotmail web interface.
The text you entered in step one is invalid. It's either
an invalid email address or contains invalid characters for an email address.

  • Create Email Rule with "AND" conditions

I want to create the following email rule for Outlook:
If the email subject contains "ABC" AND "CDF", then it should be moved to "Spam" folder.
However, in Outlook, it seems that the rule always use "OR" instead of "AND" operation if I add multiple terms for the subject. How to solve this problem?
    THanks

    Hello,
Did you get any error message when the rule failed?
Please first try to recreate the rule to check the result, also make sure there is no other rule that conflicts with the auto-forward rule.

  • ICloud email rules with wildcards

If I setup a folder in my iCloud email a/c called "abc" can I have an email rule so that all email from everyone at abc.com automatically gets filed to the abc folder? The rule I would have thought would be "is from -> *.abc.com" but will that work?

  • Outlook 2007 email rule

have a batch file that contains this command below
Powershell.exe Send-MailMessage -from [email protected] -to [email protected] -subject new message in mailbox [email protected] -smtpserve test-relay
Next I created a outlook 2007 rule that says any incoming emails that come into the mailbox test.iit.com run the script above so it sends from
[email protected] so that the person goes and check the test mailbox as there is a new message that needs to be read and replied to.
When I created the rule to run an application called email.bat, when I send one test message to
[email protected] it will continuously run the batch file and filling up david bubba email inbox until I disable the rule. How can I set it up so it only runs the batch file once for each new message that comes
into the mailbox using an outlook 2007 rule.

    Hi,
Please try running Outlook with the switch "/cleanrules", which will start Outlook and delete client-based and server-based rules:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /cleanrules” in the blank box, then press Enter.
I strongly recommend you export the rules before you run the switch for backup:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/outlook-help/import-or-export-a-set-of-rules-HP010096703.aspx
Then let's create the rule to run the script again, check if this time it works well.

  • ICloud email rules

When I use a rule in iCloud email to move an email to Trash it still shows up as unread when I open Mail on my Mac.  Is there any way to automatically mark it read as well.

Why or why? You want it in trash and it is. You don't want to read it and you don't. I know it bothers your OCD(bothers the heck out of mine), but it is unread isn't it?

  • Why are Smart Mailboxes and Email Rules on other computers, mail iCloud is off

I have iCloud turned OFF for mail.
Creating/adding Smart Mailboxes or Rules on a iMac show in the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.
    How do I disable this?

    Hi Mark,
It's my understanding rules MAY be beging pushed because iCloud -> Document and Data is checked.
Possibly this something that on the radar to be fixed in a upcomming update, but I have no information on that.
I'm told a good way to get Apple's attention about issues is for as many people as possible to goto http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html and submit feed back.
The more feedback they get on an issue the more likely they will take action.

  • Email Rules Help?

My wife deleted one of my folders and rule where one set of messages were going in, and now every time I get a message it goes to my inbox (not a problem) but it give me an error that it couldn't find folder from old rule. What should I do?

V.K., I tried that the other day while trying to sort out another rule problem that did turn out to be MobileMe; however, I kept getting four rules that wouldn't go away. They were not all default Apple rules, either.
So, while I assumed that would work, I had some issues with it. I couldn't find anywhere else it might be cached or an old version plist entry anywhere.
I hope this works for RottenAngel. If not I'll try some more digging.

  • Some Mail rules don't work properly

So I have had an email rule in Tiger for the last n months that matched account, To: Subject: and message content (account==, To:==, Subject: ==, Message Contents contains) and the rule processing is supposed to be Mark as read, move to folder x, change color to green, reply with message, stop processing rules.
What actually happens is move to folder x, mark as read, move to folder x, change color to green, and reply, but only with the original message. The "Reply with Text" is ignored and is not included.
Is this a known issue? I have deleted the rule and re-created it, with the same effect.

  • HT204088 Someone else has the SAME eMail Address as ME

Today I received an eMail from Apple to MY Apple ID / eMail Address. The Name that the eMail was supposed to be going to however was NOT ME. This has actually happened several times in the past several months, not just to me, but also to my wife. An eMail comes into our eMail Box for me.com, but the person it is directed to is NOT either one of us - but the eMail Addresses ARE ours.
The eMail I received today was for comeone in Arizona (I live in Washington State). It was an eMailed Receipt for something that customer had purchased in that Arizona Apple Store. So since I got his eMail, did he NOT get the Receipt? How can this happen? Are there no quality control checks on eMail Addresses so it's possible for MULTIPLE people to end up with the SAME eMail Address?
    Appreciate your Replys and Feedback...

If they could sign in using an email address that isn't verified then all the website owner has is her word that she is receiving their emails.  Besides, if there had been a verification email for these sites, you would have seen it too; which suggests that there wasn't.
Once you get the password changed they will not be able to receive any email from the account, even if they do now.  That may not be the end of the problem, however, as there would still be nothing to prevent them from continuing to use the address to sign up on websites that don't verify the address.  If it persists, you may have to either create a new iCloud account in order to get a new email address, or create an alias address to use within the existing iCloud account and stop using your main address for email.  Then you can set up an email rule on icloud.com that sends email from the main addres to the trash where it is deleted 30 days later.  This explains how to create an alias address: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a490a.  This explains how to set up an email rule: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a3f8a.  Good luck.

  • Someone has the same email address as me!

I know this shouldn't be possible but it's happening!  I have an apple email address [email protected] and as I understand it that automatically gives me [email protected] too.  I don't ever use the icloud domain but I have tested it and if I send an email to [email protected] I receive the email.
A month or so ago I received a load of emails, receipt etc. for a purchase that had been made on a website, registered to the email address [email protected]  I presumed someone must have entered the wrong email address and so contacted the website owner and said I'd been sent these emails in error.  They contacted the person and came back to me saying that they had said the email address was correct.  I asked them to contact them again (they are in Australia, I'm in the UK) and explain what was happening, double check the email address and ask if they had been receiving my emails.  The response was that the email address was definitely correct, they didn't use it very often and no, they hadn't been receiving my emails.  They couldn't help me any more and so I thought maybe they hadn't realised they'd made an error with the email address. I emailed them on [email protected] but I heard nothing more.
Now the same thing has happened with another website.  Whoever is using this email address has subscribed to a website, paid a fee for membership and I received all the emails, a receipt, documents that came with the purchase and also a login username and password.  I logged into the site, it worked. Unfortunately there was no area where I could leave a message.  Once again I have emailed them on [email protected]  I have also searched for the person on Facebook using [email protected] and if I've found the right person they are only a young teenage girl.  Again I have emailed them on [email protected] and asked them to contact me on another email address.  I have heard nothing so I don't know if they received the email... I received it though!
I don't know how 2 people can be allocated the same email address but what is really worrying me is that if I am receiving emails intended for someone else are they receiving my emails?!!!  That would really be a security problem as my email address is registered to lots of websites, my utilities etc.
Can anyone shed any light on how this can happen?  I have put a telephone support request into Apple but the earliest was in 2 days.
