Email saturation bombing

Unfortunalely I, like so many other trusting iTunes users, accepted the latest upgrade; it is now v 10.4.0.80.
I accessed iTunes store last night to compose a "wishlist" of Elton John songs. I could not find the list according to Apple instructions, so I gave up and signed out, after posting this problem on this website.
Today, I have found >100 emails in my box from Apple forums. Most concern app store problems, of no interest to me. Such a major blunder is uncharacteristic of Apple Corp. I wonder if Steve Jobs is having the same problems.
I am reluctant to access any Apple services at this point. Attempting to "downgrade" to a previous version of iTunes seems unlikely.
Where will this end?

  • Email verification for AppleIDs - definitely still something wrong

    Hi,
The AppleID that I want to use for iCloud has the primary email account not verified.
Now there is definitely something wrong with verifying my email on this account apart from a general email delivery problem.
    I say this because:
    1) On appleid.apple.com I can click "Verify Now" till I'm blue in the face.  I see a few URLs appear at the bottom and the screen redraws and the address is still "Verify Now"
    2) I then added an "Alternate Email address" - I used another form of my email address that comes to the very same gmail account that works for my main address.  appleid.apple.com added that address and marked it "Verification sent" or similar.  In 3 seconds flat I received an email in my gmail account and clicked to verify.  The alternate email is now verified.
In the meanwhile my primary address still is marked "verify now" and I must have clicked that 100 times and no mail.
I checked all my other apple ids and none I can find have the same email address associated with them.  I'm not sure how that can happen anyway since if you try to add an email address to an apple id that is already associated with another apple id then it stops you.
So - I believe there is something specific wrong behind the scenes with my apple id and some others.
The status page on icloud says this verification problem is fixed BUT IT DEFINITELY IS NOT.
    Steve

    Curiouser and curiouser.
Saga so far - my apple id I renamed from the unverifyable [email protected] to [email protected]
That I can't verify since [email protected] doesn't actually come to me I discover.
So I logged back in on appleid with the new [email protected]
I notice that my alternate email of [email protected] was gone.
I then renamed the account to [email protected]
It didn't send me a verification email, but suddenly I was [email protected] and it was verified!
Curiously I ALSO have an alternate email on the account that is _also_ [email protected]
So I'm now twice verified - but not with the the apple id I really want to use.
I then had the idea to try to add my original [email protected] as an alternate.  But the system won't let me since it says its verified for another apple id.  I'm not sure what ID that is.  So I used the "I forgot" on apple ID.  and put in [email protected]  I duly received a password reset email,
Going into the password reset and putting in a "too short" password produced an error message that revealed the other apple ID that had my email against it.  Which turned out to be my company developer account.
So this issue is all about duplicated email addresses associated with apple ids.
There seems to be some big mess in the apple ID database or the developers minds about how apple ids and primary email addresses relate.  It seems some apple ids tie the email address and apple id together, others (like developer ids) keep them separated.
Apple IDs must be unique.  That make sense.
But there are clearly logic errors in Apple's handling of email addresses.  It seems that code expects to find an email only associated with one apple id.  But clearly that isn't consistently enforced otherwise how did mine get in twice.  And, specifically for the current issue: when the system wants to send a verification email it bombs out if it finds two or more apple ids for the same email.

  • Is anybody having problems opening Jpegs attachments on iPhone 4s sent in email?..imap , mac, and exchange accounts are affected. I get a spinning wheel or it bombs out!!..Help

Is any body having problems opening Jpegs sent via email as attachments. iPhone 4
I can't open and get a spinning wheel or it bombs out!..Help!! It affects iMap, exchange and mac accounts!

Solution for me was changing the "Load Remote Images" setting, shutting down and restarting the phone.  The old messages with problems reloaded with all attachments accessible.
Background: I began having this problem recently with PDF, jpeg, vcf files and apparently now, all attachments as well as email with html links are coming through with no attachment or as empty email.  This was a new problem for me. I have been backing up to the cloud, but not using a cloud email account.  I have multiple accounts on the phone, six of them actually and have been set up this way for over a year without problem.  Some are imap, some pop, none are through exchange.

  • ClamAV fails to scan for viruses in emails [CLAWS MAIL]

I've recently switched from Thunderbird to Claws Mail and ran into one small, but annoying, problem.
I want to use ClamAV + the clamav extension for claws mail to scan for viruses, however it does seem to have permission problems.
clamd is running, user and group clamav all have the relevant permissions as far as I can tell, however upon scanning my mail, I always end up with the following error:
    Scanning error:
/home/username/.claws-mail/mimetmp/0000000e.mimetmp: lstat() failed: Permission denied. ERROR

  • How to put system info. in error mess. sent by email through process chains

When I get an error message by email from the process chain saying that the process bombed, it does not tell me from which SAP system the problem occured? (Whether Dev or QA or Prod). Is there a way to put the SAP system in the email along with the error from the process chain?
    Thanks

    Hi Akshay,
I am in version 3.5. I believe you can do it in 7. We have a standard user id called ALEREMOTE coming from all 3 systems. We would ideally like the message to say ALEREMOTE - (the error message with DEV specified), ALEREMOTE - (the error message with QA specified) and ALEREMOTE - (the error message with PRD specified).
    Thanks

  • Desaturated colors in email compared to thumbnail enalrgements in iPhoto 6

The image that iPhoto creates when I use it to compose an email is desaturated compared to the image that iPhoto shows when enlarging the thumbnail. This wasn't the case with my earlier version of iPhoto (on my pismo), so it's not the photos. I use apple's Mail application. Any ideas on getting the image to maintain its original color?
    Thanks -

    Steve:
Check iPhoto's Advanced preferences and see if you've got the checkbox selected to add a color profile to files upon importing. If it is try this following test:
1 - take a test shot with your camera and upload to the desktop.
2 - open Mail and add the file as an attachment and leave the draft open.
3 - import the file from the desktop into iPhoto and start the email process with it.
4 - now compare the two in Mail.
I'm thinking that the profile that iPhoto is embedding may be different from the one used by the camera. You can check the profiles with Preview under the Tools->Get Info window. Generally speaking if one of the profiles is the Adobe RGB it should be much more saturated than the general RGB or sRGB.
    Post back with the results.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • IPhoto problem with email, export, editing...

Had my iMac upgraded with a new harddrive and Lion at my authorized retailer & service center. All has been good but did not use iPhoto much after the upgrade, but all seemed to be good.
    Recently photographed a family occasion and now I experience the following problems;
    1. After successful import I edit the pictures which leads to numerous crashes, seemingly randomly, but most frequently when jumping from editing one picture to the next.
    2. Share, Email does not work, only a few of the selected pictures are sent, sometimes with a low resolution thumbnail instead of the desired picture. The selection process works normally, but when the mail has been formatted only a few or none picture are inserted, in any of the templates, including classic. The number of selcted photos and their size are reported normal, they just don't show up in the mail itself
    3. Resorting to export to a folder, all of the pictures are exported, however not always with intact changes/edits???
I have previously never had any major problems with iPhoto up until this version, and am seriously considering ditching it after all the wasted time.
Any suggestions how to attack this problem in iPhoto 11 & 10.7 Lion?  (I am unable to find any plist etc like in 10.6 and earlier)
Thanks for any hints and/or tips...

    Hi Larry,
    thanks for your quick reply...
The harddrive and all user data was transferred by the authorized service center. I able to see and use all the old pictures, so I think (and hope) my pictures were correctly transferred.
    After reading this:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3087683?start=45&tstart=0
and done minor edits to ALL the NEW (of today) pictures I want, it seems to file, export correctly. I did some additional minor adjustments (exposure, saturation, sharpness, etc) and behold, the export worked ok, including edits like crops, straightenings, etc, that were omitted without the "adjustments"...
It feels like some proper bugs to me, and will probably look for another more robust and flexible software to do my edits...
    Recommendations?
Using Picasa sometimes, but read somewhere they use a hack to get to the iPhoto pictures & database, not sure I like that... Maybe I should go Aperture...???

  • My Emailed photo looks bad!

When I email a specific picture, either from within Iphoto, or by copying photo to desktop and attaching it....it looks TERRIBLE in my email. (Overly saturated, skin tone too orange). This is an un-edited picture.
The picture in question, looks perfect in Iphoto, as well as when I open it in Preview after copying it to the desktop.
    Any ideas?

I'm sorry that I wasn't clear. I did a favor & shot some baby pics for a friend. I just wanted to make certain that the "actual Iphoto picture (file)" that I took, and that looks good in my Iphoto was what I was sending her. I'd hate to think that she's getting the horrible one that I was seeing. However I realize that her Mail will "see" things differently than mine apparently. At least if she prints my picture "file" it should be ok I'm guessing.
Since the picture looks good in my "Preview" application, I'll assume that it's just Mail that lets it appear distorted. Just frustrating for me to not "see" what I'm sending correctly in Mail.

  • Email attachment auto download

    Hi,
i have recently connected my phone with my company email so that i can read it when im on the go. I realised after i open up the email the attachment download automatically which i do not want to download. I have ever downloaded attachment which is more than 50mb when im using my local cellular data without any of my permission to download it. It will cost a bomb to my month end bill which im only entitled for 3gb of data usage per month.
Is there any solutions to disable the auto email attachment download?
    Appreciate your input.
    Thanks and best regards,
    Daren

If Excel works as do other apps, you should be able to tap and hold on the attachment and then select "Open in Excel" in the window that will open. Note that you need to be subscribed to and signed into Office 365 to be able to edit documents in Microsoft's apps.
    Regards.

  • My design is made darker when uploaded to Dropbox or emailed.

I am designing a brochure for print using photoshop. I am working in CMYK working format, using CS6. I have tried saving the image as .jpg, PDF, and .tiff but the problem still persists. The preview in photoshop looks good and when I open it from finder it looks fine. The problem comes when I try to upload the file to dropbox or email it. The image looks very dark and very over-saturated, almost like a burn tool has been on it. I have been using photoshop for somtime but this is one of the first times using CMYK for print. I am not a pro. Please help if you can.

Simple. You are using Adobe RGB as the color space for print and non color managed apps prefer sRGB, a smaller gamut than Adobe RGB. The properly rendered colors are clipped in the smaller sRGB space making it look darker.
You will need to convert a copy the file to the sRGB profile (Edit > Convert to Profile...) or use File > Save for Web and check "convert to sRGB".

  • Export clips separately from multitrack edit bombing Audition 2015 CC

attaching a screencast. Everything is up to date.
    Mac
    Yosemite
    latest everything.
    This hasn't happened before.
Any help appreciated as I have LOTS to edit/export (and before explaining how I'm going about this wrong, trust me that I've tried many options. Doing it this way (soloing tracks in Audition to edit / batch process / level) is saving hours... or would be if I could save the tracks individually once they're edited.  It's SUPPOSED to work per manuals/websites/help screens.
In the screencast I get an error message before it bombs.
    That was new.
Last night, when this happened several dozen times, I never got the error message. #stepintherightdirection
    Screencast of session

The screen capture wasn't a high enough resolution where I could read the crash report.  Any chance you can send that to me?  You can find it again by opening Applications > Utilities > Console.app  then expose User Diagnostic Reports.  You should see entries for each time Audition crashed - drag one of them into an email as an attachment and send it to [email protected] and I'll take a look.
I did just try it on my own system without any problems, and if it was working before then something else must be amiss.  The crash report may give us the right clues to start troubleshooting.

  • Histogram and saturation in Photoshop
