Email says sent but won't actually deliver - please help!
This is so aggravating. Sorry in advance for the long story:
My work email server has always synced just fine to my iPhone for the past 4 months. Earlier this month my work email stopped sending - it says it's sent and shows up in the sent folder, but it doesn't actually get delivered to the recipient.
I have tried everything I can find. Here's a list:
- Updated iPhone software.
- Updated iTunes software.
- Synced using iTunes. Then synced manually onto the Phone.
- Got the Apple store to patch my iPhone with something called"DFU"? Worked for an hour and then stopped.
- Turned extra SMTP servers on.
- Tried different SMTP servers as primary outgoing server.
- Wiped entire iPhone about 100 times.
- Turned WiFi off. Then tried using only WiFi.
- Tweaked every single configuration - turned off SSL, changed the port number, etc. I've now had two IT departments not be able to figure this out.
- Tried syncing my work email to other iPhones both in my firm and at the Apple store. Both worked fine.
Finally, I swapped my iPhone for a new one (was under warranty and it seemed to be a handset problem). Worked perfect - until today. Then it stopped again. Tried wiping the phone twice. Nothing.
It seems sometimes that being in my apartment (which is cement) is where the problem will start, except then it won't work ANYWHERE after. Plus I can't tell for sure where it happened the first time - whether in my apartment or outside.
HELP! This is so annoying. I'm so tempted to sell my stupid phone and go back to Blackberry but I'm scared that won't work either.

Hi Guys,
Need some help with this. I have recently discovered that all emails I have been sending from Mail over the last month or so have not reached their destinations.
I get no error messages when sending from Mail - the email is dispatched as usual, the sound is heard and mail deposited in my 'Sent' folder. I have tested this by emailing myself with no joy.
Interestingly, the 'webmail' facility via the internet works OK and emails are all received. So looks like the problem lies at my end.
Have checked the settings for the outgoing mail server (my current Portugal ISP) and they seem OK. I do not recall having touched anything here.
The mail account is one of those free POP mail accounts with my old UK ISP which I have continued to use successfully out here since august...that is until now!
I am using Port 25 without SSL and no authentication - everything as before. Have already tried changing the port to those mentioned in similar threads but nothing gives.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

If Mail puts the message in the Sent mailbox, that means Mail has got confirmation from the SMTP server that the message will be delivered. Whether the SMTP server actually does what it promised, or the message is filtered out by the recipient’s incoming server for some reason, is another story that Mail can do nothing about.

Sending messages via webmail is not the same as sending them via SMTP. If the problem is at your end, it’s at the server-side part of your end; more specifically, at the SMTP server part... -
Emails says sent but doesn't send just disappears; no errors given...
-Firstly can i start by moaning at Apples awful job with iOS6 (regular OS crashes, intermitent iMessage failures, crap maps, half a job on facebook integration etc.) ...
Thats asside here is (one of my many issues) I am experiencing since upgrading to iOS6:
I can send new emails from any of my email accounts (be it exchange or IMAP). But when i recieve an email I click reply (type it) and click send...
It makes a woosh sound to say sent but stays on sending.... eventually sending disappears and it says up to date. HOWEVER the email does not get sent it just simply vanishes. No error messages, and not in outbox and sent messages. It literally vanshes. I wouldnt mind but it doesnt even reach its destonation so i now cant reply to emails on my phone... Great!
I have tried deleting and resetting up the email accounts.... did nothing.
I have tried restoring the phone... did nothing.
Like i said i can send new emails but it wont let me reply to most of them only some. I have to CC myself into all emails now to see which ones the iphone has an issues with and have so far found no link between them.
I have seen other online forums with people experiencing the same issue but i have not found a solution or an article on the Apple communities so raised this one.

SimonHmm that is my last attempt at fixing it although i dont want to do that as ill lose all my app saves etc I'ts clearly not happy about something as it is only specific emails (which i also cant forward either), but i can copy the text into a new mail and send that way.
Ill try updating to 6.0.1 when i get wifi too, that may help.

I have the new iPhone 5 with the latest software, and iTunes latest version.
When I try to backup my phone via iTunes, the backup starts, and the progress bar begins to move and then gets stuck at the end. I have waited a long time but it doesn't go any further. I then have to skip the backup in order to Synch.
On iTunes, it says the latest backup is: Unknown. I only have a backup of my last phone before I changed the handset. Very annoying!
I have repeatedly tried to backup and sometimes the progress bar gets almost to the end, but no, it stops. Very frustrating.
The phone synchs OK, but have to skip/cancel backup in order to get to the synch phase.
I tried to restore the phone and start again (restored to the previous backup some time ago, before the new handset) but no, doesn't work.
Please help!
ThanksThe iPhone 5 and iOS 6 require iTunes 10.7. Depending on what OS you have for your comptuer, could restrict you.

Perhaps you've downloaded the wrong one. Do you use Internet Explorer as your browser? Is there a specific link in the message that you follow?

Hi all, I hope someone can help me here. I added a $20 iTunes card to the account and it shows the credit beside my username "[email protected]" but whenever I go to buy something it says it is going to charge my credit card and if I click ok then it says that the card is declined... we don't have a credit card... we used to but got rid of it... question is: how do I get it to stop wanting me to pay via credit card and use my $20 balance instead??? I tried saying we have "none" for credit card, I even changed my email adress to a vaild one as the mac.com adress no longer works... can anyone help????? Thanks, Mary

absolutely useless, rude and unhelpful by the way) I fixed the bug.
Go to Add or Remove Programs and uninstall Acer eData
Security Management. Run Dreamweaver. Hey presto. It works.
The eData program is useless and annoying anyway, but I'd
recommend you make sure you're covered by some other security
software instead.

Songs are on iPod - but won't play! Please help!!
Songs were purchased using iTunes acct (#1)(on other PC) before I moved out of state. Here, I opened new acct (#2) and began downloading with new PC. Ever since, songs that were purchased/downloaded on acct #1 will not play. Any help is appreciated!!!

Premiere pro is saying 'installed', but hasn't actually installed on my pc? Someone help :S
I have a windows 7, intel premium pc and i have installed creative cloud and everything.. did everything it told me to do. then i downloaded premiere pro cs6 and it hasnt actually installed on my pc, cant find the app or even use it when i have paid for it -,- was part of a birthday present aswell so would like help FAST, as i'm starting a youtube (gaming) channel soon.....

This same exact thing has happened to me.
I downloaded 2 other apps and they are find. It is just the Premiere Pro that won't work.
I have the same OS as you also.
I explored the hard drives "Program Files" folder and there is no Adobe files for Premiere although the other two apps I downloaded are in there. -

Bug: Keynote says install but won't

Previously owned copies of iWork cannot be opted into the MAS. You will need to purchase the MAS versions. -
