Email sent from user goes out as distribution list
I have an outlook/exchange 2013 user that states that they sent an email out as themselves but got delivered as being 'from' a distribution list. I checked sent items and it shows as being sent from the distribution list. But user states that
they never changed 'from' field from themselves before sending. is this a possible exchange bug of some kind?

As Tony suggested, please check if this user can reproduce the problem. And please check if OWA works well.
If you run Outlook in cached mode, please switch to online mode to check the result.

The ony place I have been able to send and receive email since the launch of iCloud has been the icloud website. I wasn't able to send email from my iphone 3gs or apple mail at all until today, now it finally appears to let me send email but it never arrives to its destination.
I can send an email from the icloud website without issue, and email sent from my icloud account using my iphone 3gs and apple mail seems to send fine and without error but who knows where it goes.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

CharlesI figured out how to fix it... if anyone else has this problem, go to Outlook > Preferences > Accounts > select the IMAP account > Advanced > Folders and for "Store Sent Messages in this Folder:" select "Sent Messages (Server)."

My company only gives me POP server settings. It asks me use my ISP or third party out going server to sent email. I setup the email SENT from Gmail but SHOWS my company's email address on Gmail web mail. Can I setup the same thing on iPhone? How?
Hope I made it clear. I want to send Email from my iPhone through Gmail "[email protected]", but recipient will see it is from my company's mail address "[email protected]". Of course it also shows "sent through gmail", but that's not a problem for my case.

firewall before going this direction.) You can configure an Inbound Connector in EOP to accept mail from specific IP addresses without requiring TLS/authentication. -
Can't receive emails sent from Windows Mobile
After much troubleshooting, I've found that I can't receive emails sent from Windows Mobile users. I never noticed the issue until recently, but I can't pinpoint when the problem began: Leopard 10.5.2, Mail 3.2... not sure.
When a Windows Mobile user sends me an email, it just doesn't show up in my inbox. It does show up in a web client, my iPhone, and in Thunderbird, so I know the mail is being delivered to my mailbox on the server. However, there is no corresponding message located in ~/Library/Mail, so it looks like the message isn't being downloaded from the server. I have emails before and after the stubborn email message, so it hasn't interfered with anything else that I can tell.
Anyone else been able to pinpoint this issue and figure out a fix or workaround? Anyone have any ideas?I am experiencing precisely the same issues. Messages from Windows Mobiles v.6 (more than just a single handset) are not being displayed in Mac Mail 3.2
I have tried rebuilding mailboxes and changing the IMAP port connecting with Exchange server. The mail is there as I can see it in Outlook, OWA, and OMA
Similar situation to you in that I have no idea when this started to happen, but it can only be in the last 3-4 weeks max.
Please, if anybody has a fix or workaround, or knows what changes have been made to Mac Mail in the last few weeks.

Any way to log email sent from websites?
In pouring over my logs, I am trying to figure out if email that is outgoing is logged. It doesn't look like it. Specifically, I see the clients i expect and I see attempts to login -- most using plaintext which is turned off.
I don't see where email that comes from websites is logged, though. Is it already there and I don't see it?
I have wordpress installed and all is up to date. I know it can send email because I get notices from a security scanner over email. What I don't see, though, is any entry in the logs as to when the email server accepts email from the website and sends it. Is that logged already?

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I think you misunderstood my question, though. I am not talking about roundcube. I'm talking about email sent from PHP websites.
I think, because I have spam filtering on, I can trust those logs to be accurate reports of each mail my server sends.
I was trying to determine if a rogue script got installed and was sending emails because I was getting backscatter.
For the sake of monitoring the server, though, I wish there was a simple log entry each time it mailed out. -

Email sent from iPhone appears in Sent Items days later
On our Mac clients we use Entourage 2008 SP2 which connects to Exchange 2003 SP2 running on Window Server 2003.
So we're very pleased our iPhone 3Gs with 3.1.1 work as well as they do with ActiveSync email to Exchange. (Well done Apple.)
However, we have noticed that some emails sent from the iPhone appear in Entourage's (and OWA's) Sent Items folder days later than when the message was sent.
Also, the Subject is BLANK.
This is not good as we are contemplating moving from BlackBerry to iPhone for our client servicing teams who need to have an accurate record on on-the-hoof communications.
Any ideas?

C.IPhone OS 3.0 did not identify itself properly to Exchange 2007 on any iPhone. With iPhone OS 3.1, all iPhones identify themselves properly to the server, essentially fixing a glitch in the previous operating system. However, now iPhone and iPhone 3G users that upgraded to iPhone OS 3.1 won't be able to login to Exchange 2007 servers that require hardware encryption. The new iPhone 3GS, you won't notice any change. Apple's newest phone is equipped with hardware encryption, so it will meet the requirements of the Exchange server when identifying itself. If you've already upgraded your phones to iPhone OS 3.1 on an iPhone or iPhone 3G and connect to an Exchange 2007 server, you have to turn off the hardware encryption requirement for those devices. So, if you decide you have to have hardware encryption, then you'll need to upgrade all phones to 3gs.

Why all the emails sent from my Macbook Pro (from Mail and even from website of yahoo mail and gmail), people received it so mussy...so wretched (am not sure the correct word in english)..
People received it without paragraph at all. Although I typed emails with 3 paragraph, turned out people got it in 1 paragraph.
Can somebody tell me what's wrong?Nothing is wrong on your end. The problem is the way they have set up their email program to display their emails.

PS: I am in 4.0B Version which doesnt have SOST Transaction. Also it doesnt have Utilities->Overview of Send Orders option in SCOT.

I've had this problem before and the best way to find out if emails were sent or not is just to follow up with the actual people getting the emails...
SAP will only tell limited info about external emails anyway ... once the email passes through the internet gateway it's no longer SAP's problem.
If you are the one controlling the email sending, can you just create a log table and write to it each time? -
An email sent from my iMac has a button linked to a clip hosted on Vimeo. When received, the link functions on iMac and iPad, but opens a window of app icons on iPhone and iPod touch. Any ideas what's wrong?
For anyone else reading this thread, it is worth knowing that sometimes an email is, or can be, corrupted thereby jamming the works. The solution above is good, but I just wanted to suggest another one.
If the problem arises, go to an online mail access service, such as Mail2Web.com and login to you mail account there and delete the offending message.
Problem solved.
And George, as this is all entirely voluntary, whinging about no takers may not endear people to you. Besides which, a few minutes of searching on Google would have found you a number of solutions. -
Can no longer open PDF files from my emails sent from other websites. Problem seems to correlate with automatic upgrade of free adobe software (from version 11 to Reader DC)?
To configure the browser to use Acrobat or Adobe Reader to open PDF files:
1. Quit Internet Explorer(any other browser)
2. Start Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
3. Choose Edit > Preferences.
4. Select Internet in the list on the left.
5. Deselect(Uncheck) Display PDF in Browser, and click OK.

There is no issue because that's not how POP works. Setup the Macbook account as IMAP and all is well. -

I have solved this. The main account SMTP setting was wrong so it was using the next outgoing mail server available which was Gmail. Disabling Gmail as an alternative highlighted that the main one was wrong. I fixed the main SMPTP outgoing server address and all now working. Hope this helps.

Attachments in a group email sent from outlook 2007 do not show in the message
iPad doesn't show attachments in a group email sent from a Windows 7 PC using outlook 2007. Doesn't matter what the attachment is, if it is sent to a group created in Outlook the attachments do not come through. Is this a bug in iOS? My Google Nexus 4 phone handles the attachments just fine.
